Went with a friend who works at Encore, we got the prime service and Im sure that was because he works there but the food was GOOD!!!! We ordered everything, the plates just kept coming & coming. Chef Kevin even came out to greet us, the manager stopped by, the staff was great (and I could even see they were this way with other tables so not just because of our table being an employee). The Salt & Pepper Calamari was hands down the best plate for me. The sushi was fresh & delicious, Portions were giant. Drinks were good, The vibe was great. The people watching was good! Want to drool just thinking about it! If you havent stopped in, do so.. You wont be disappointed!

Brisket and rice noodle soup... Dave says it's the best soup in Boston!

RED 8 is located in the encore Boston Harbor Casino complex. All of the restaurants there exceptional. This one is famous for its Brisket noodle soup. It is HUGE, and can easily feed two. The broth is savory, and very filling, because fat adds flavor. THE DEAL: RED 8 makes some of the best beef collagen noodle soup you've never had

Service was quick and pleasant. Though we had a reservation, it seems we came in on a quieter night - but it was pretty calm in general, given how it's in the midst of a casino. Now, here's why I docked stars from this review: - The Peking Duck was just alright, though it felt more like roasted duck to us. This is mainly because of how the duck skin wasn't crispy and, frankly, felt a bit on the rubbery side. Plus, the overall dish didn't seem that fresh. - Speaking of freshness, the Lucky Envelope mocktail was alright for a mocktail, but the Crazy for Coconuts cocktail just felt off - especially with how the pearls didn't feel fresh in this drink, as it felt more powdery and like it was left out for some time. - Lastly, everything seemed pretty overpriced for what we got. All in all, we're probably not gonna be coming back any time soon.

This is a great restaurant! It's a bit odd you actually seem to have to enter through the casino but this is a great spot!! The ambience and decor was beautiful and the staff was exceptional!! We got to try a lot of the food options and it was all so delicious!! Some of the food was a bit pricey, but it was all really good!! My favorite was probably the bbq pork which was perfectly cooked and super flavorful, but the chow mein and Peking duck was also good! The chili wontons were pretty spicy but delicious! The shumai and steamed pork bun were great choices if you like dim sum options! We also got great spring rolls and crab Rangoon along with some green beans and bok choy For dessert we tried the sweet buns that were served with some sort of sweet cream dip that was to die for the drinks were also amazing although I forget the names of the specific ones we ordered

Really good Chinese food in the Encore Boston casino. Everything we tried came out piping hot and tasted great. Our waitress was very kind and provided great service. The only reason I'm not giving them 5 starts is because they are quite expensive!

    Soup dumplings,

Wonderful! Thank you so much for having me at your restaurant. Nia was a fantastic server.

Best food ever. The service was tops. A 10 for sure. I loved the vibe. Being able to hear and see the casino scene was awesome!

I was so disappointed when I got my Mongolian beef... This was my FAVORITE DISH to get at Red 8. The beef was super tender and flavorful before. The quality of the beef was like steak. If you look back on my recent photos and compare to my recent trip, you can tell the quality fell off. To charge $31 for a dish that looks like it's from a local corner fast food Chinese restaurant is ridiculous. If I could, I would've went back and requested the dish to be remade lol it was that bad. Luckily the general gaos was good. If it's a chef thing, please do us all a favor and let him/her go lol I'm hoping I just went on a bad day... I will come back and hope that it's better.

We went for drinks and apps what we got was great! But the server wasn't very nice. I love that the restaurants in the casino/hotel put your purses on chairs. If you like spice I would get the spicy chili wontons! The ambiance is great it's a fun lounge with casino floor views

Minced Beef Claypot Rice免治牛煲仔飯: Surprisingly, the minced beef was served in a thickened meat sauce. The sauce was smooth, the rice grains were distinct, and after mixing, the egg and meat aromas were rich. The scallions were fragrant without any unpleasant odor, which was a surprise. However, the seasoning was a bit bland, so I added three extra spoonfuls of soy sauce. Spare Rib Claypot Rice排骨煲仔飯: The spare ribs were carefully selected, all easy-to-eat small ribs with a rich meaty flavor. Convenient Chinatown main district location near the excellent bakeries next door I visit for Chinese pastries . I saw a picture of the meat combo of duck, char sue, pork belly, white rice, hot Vegetables. I ordered the combo, an appetizer of pan fried dumplings. Nice Asian restaurant environment, but not a spot to enjoy a lengthy dinner with soothing music ambience or sipping hot tea... a busy no nonsense kitchen type eating place with yelling, bone chopping. The hanging appetizing cooked ducks, pork, chicken creates the vibe of a China town experience. Quick service, nice hot tea in kettle offering. The combo meat platter was cold slices of meat , rice a bit cold too. Vegetables fresh, hot but needed more . The duck meat was boney and not much duck meat or select pieces. Char sui was salty , few pieces. The pork belly was very good and needed more. I didn't compare my combo picture with the one I saw from 1 year ago and mine looks 1/2 the quantity of meat and vegetable.. the pic last year displays beefy pieces vs. my meat that looks like my animals are starved before preparing for my plating. I understand inflation reduced portions , but I would rather have last year's picture at a higher price. The pan fried dumplings not impressed as had much better elsewhere. These were too doughy and not a nice flavor or texture. I didn't see anything to be impressed with my dining outing and nothing to be offended by with either except boney malnourished duck pieces of cold meat . Other noodle dishes, rice dishes I saw other diners order were fresh hot and definitely appealing, abundant and worthy to try. Maybe the combo was a bad choice and a just a hot duck dish may have been better option here... clearly the hanging food was freshly prepared. Prices were fair , my waitress , server very pleasant , clean restaurant and no issues with that. I might look to try the hot duck at the other locations with a bit better expectations for ambiance and conversational luncheon environment. The baked egg custard pastry, creme coffee sponge cakes after for desert were excellent from bakery down the street.

Flavored Chicken雲香雞: Originating from the "Yunxiang Lou雲香樓" restaurant in Guangzhou, this is an old-style Cantonese dish. I haven't tried the original one myself, so I can't comment on whether it's authentic, but it tasted similar to what's known as "salted chicken鹹雞" in Guangdong. The chicken itself was already salty enough, so the ginger and scallion sauce was a delightful addition to the rice - as all Cantonese know. It seems to be made with young hens; the skin was fragrant, moist but not oily, and the meat was tender and smooth, with a strong original aroma of chicken雞味. Even the chicken breast wasn't dry at all. The simple salt-baking鹽焗 style and peanut oil seasoning perfectly brought out the chicken's freshness and aroma. It was even delicious after being reheated the next day. It would have been even better if the chicken skin was crispy, but it's hard to ask for more in the US. Vegetables with Garlic蒜蓉菜遠: I haven't had such flavorful stir-fried Choy Sum菜心 (Chinese Flowering Cabbage) in a long time. I even missed the Cantonese greens more than the chicken, so I ate the whole plate by myself. Stir-fried greens need a generous amount of oil to be truly fragrant. This restaurant was packed on the first day of the Chinese New Year; being surrounded by Cantonese speakers felt so welcoming.

It was 10:30pm so my options were limited, decided to give Jade Garden a try. Ordered a wonton noodle soup. Now, I did not expect it to be as good or authentic as Sam Woo in Alhambra CA or Mike's in Seattle Chinatown. But what was served was a complete travesty of this classic HK staple. The broth had no flavor (adding white pepper didn't help much); the wontons were sad-looking, had no shrimp inside and the 'mystery meat' tasted mushy like it was about to give me food poisoning so I spit it out. The manager insisted the wontons were "freshly made" and walked away but I knew better, so I asked another waiter to sent it back. New dish = Fish fillet with vegs rice plate. The fish was fine, but the vegs were undercooked (onion almost completely raw) and there was very little sauce on the rice. Another fail. Maybe it's not their regular chef for the late night shift, but I probably won't be back. As with most U.S. Chinatowns, the best Chinese food is found in nearby suburbs and neighborhoods (such as the fine Shanghainese restaurant JiangNan by the Boston Common.)
