The food is always great but the service is lacking and they know it. So they add their own tip to the bill, I'm sure they weren't being tipped well based on their service. I'm glad they added the tablets so we can at least get meats faster but to get anyone's attention for anything else is a hassle. Not to mention the wait time. 1-2 hr wait every single time. I know they added a 2hr time limit now buts its not enough. I've seen groups of people finish eating in hour 1 and just sat there chitchatting for the 2nd hour without eating. We wanted something easy and saw that they had free menu upgrades on Mondays through Thursdays until the end of the 2024 year which sounded good enough for us last night. We opted for menu a with the complimentary upgrade to menu b. What a great treat it was to enjoy their steamed egg. I loved it as an extra protein side to the meats and banchans. Their miso soup and tofu soup were solid orders as they don't give you too much and are flavorful. I would skip the corn cheese if you're looking for a cheese pull because ours was just mainly filled with sweet corn. Service was great as they were attentive whenever I called them over and they also came to ask if we needed more meats at separate times. I did notice we had more than one server because three people checked on us so just pointing that out. Restaurant has booths as seating but it's just the casual booths so don't expect comfort here. They also have Yelp waitlist going on but you have to add your name when you get there and they don't utilize it on the app which is a bummer. We just stuck to mainly brisket and beef belly meats which was okay. The meats came apart when cooked on the grill so I could tell it was previously frozen but for the price you can't really complain. The food was great. They had plenty of servers. I just didn't get the best of service. My server didn't come that often, and I honestly felt like they were ignoring us, because it was only a party of two, and they were larger parties. Not sure the only thing I had a problem with is that they added a service fee on the receipt later, I found out it was a self adjusted tip. I don't mind tipping. Not Sure What is Better! Between Red Castle and the U Grill in Rancho Cucamonga, I cannot say exactly which place is better. However, in my opinion, it is better than Gen. Overall, I am rather easily pleased with KBBQ in general. The only thing that I think sets most KBBQ restaurants are whether they are 1) All you can eat, 2) What sides are offered, 3) The additional menu choices. For Red Castle, it is an easy choice if you are big on the Beef Brisket and Bulgogi. Not to mention, the steak options here are rather great too! The marinade can be a bit on the salty side, yet - to give a fair comparison - fries from Mc Donald's are far more saltier by default - but who complains about that, right? To curb any salty, yet savory meats served here... enjoy it with a side of salad or white rice. Either of the two go really well with all the flavors offered here at Red Castle. As for the service - no complaints! They be killin the floor with fresh dishes, drinks, and grill changes. Fast and friendly service overall! Last but not least, I have to say that I get the most K-Pop exposure here with their flat-screen TVs playing K-Pop Music Vids. I love it! Not to mention, this would be pretty fun place to go for your annual holiday. Moreover, they seem to often have a deal on drinks if you visit Monday - Thursday. However, these deals change from time to time. Just know that they have all the bottled soju that can be offered. The wait is a little long if you go between 5-7pm but the service is great and the cuts of meat were fresh and delicious. Quality of service here has always varied depending on who your main server is but never had too much of an issue. I love their steamed egg but they didn't have it today. Understandable. What was not understandable was the fact that my friend who was with me chewed for a good minute on a USED BAND - AID (!!!) in her kimchi fried rice. Nasty and disgusting, not to mention the fact that blood contamination and the possibility of spreading diseases. It felt like the manager on duty (or owner? Not sure) was scared to come out and did not want to confront us and address the issue. This made the bad situation even worse. the best they could say was sorry, no mention of how this happened or what they were gonna do to prevent this from happening again. hygiene practices in this kitchen must be atrocious.
