As I was stopping through Flagstaff I thought that this would be the best vegan place given it's near five star reputation. Upon arriving, service took extremely long because the place is staffed by only one waitress, who to her credit did a great job but could not keep up with all the customers. The food was bland, inauthentic, and the 5 heat level is very very mild. If you're looking for very Americanized takes on Thai dishes, then this should be the vegan place for you. If you're looking for authentic flavor and spice, I would not recommend this place. P.S. only tried the Orange soy chicken and the Spicy Noodle so maybe the other dishes could be better read more

This is such a great vegan eatery! I love this place because everything is vegan, and so delicious. There are many Thai places in flag, and this is one of the best. I always order the red curry with fried tofu, and I am never disappointed. This place offers perfect sized portions as well, and all the meals feel filling without being overwhelming and heavy. A great vegan spot! Coming from the Bay Area, we have a whole host of great vegan restaurants. I was surprised to find this gem in Flagstaff. The prices were very reasonable and you get a whole meal for the price of the entree. The massaman curry was very flavorful. The PET was a good balance of vegetables and tofu. Pad Thai was also quite good. Spice was maybe on the lower side in comparison to other restaurants but the food was flavorful. I really liked this place - so much that I came back the next day. Both days I got soup. First I had the yen to fu soup which was really tasty - pretty sweet. The next day came and ordered the Saigon soup which was a lot lighter in flavor than the yen to fu soup. I think I liked the yen to fu soup more with its tiny noodles and bigger flavor... This awesome food period. Being 100% vegan is off the charts. Had the Tokyo Roll as a starter. What a great beginning. The spicy topping balanced the rice and veggies inside giving it a pop of flavor. The TomYom was great with plenty of lemongrass flavor I. The broth and crunchy not overcooked veggies. The star was the spicy noodle dish. This was an outstanding plate of noodles, garlic veggies and tofu. Everybody has a bad day and I've only eaten here once however, in regards to curry; this place is subpar. The curry was bland and not spicy at all even though we ordered a 3/5 spice level. The portions are less than half of most other establishments. The most redeeming quality is how they fried the slabs of tofu and then sliced them so they were strips with a pleasant texture. After looking over the menu, we noticed the dishes come with a salad, spring roll, and some won ton. Wow, great deal for $10. I tried the lemon grass Curry and my wife tried the pumpkin basil dish. Both were outstanding!! I don't care for pumpkin, but when I tried it with all the other flavors, wow! It's definitely something I would have never tried, but I'm glad I did. Very disappointed in what we got from Red Curry Vegan kitchen. Was very expensive for the serving size we ordered, if I'm paying $15 a plate I want to be able to have leftovers. I ordered the pineapple curry and the plate had literally 2 pineapple chunks in the whole thing. I understand vegan food is harder and more expensive to make but curry? Cheap and easy.. I wish I would've stayed home and made this myself. Not to mention the "side salad" comes with 4 pieces of lettuce. I also was not a fan of all the styrofoam and plastic the food came in. Yuck. We were passing through Flagstaff on our way to and from visiting family in Colorado. The food here is best described as a Thai fusion. For appetizers they have samosa wontons, a Tokyo roll and some of the other usual suspects like fried tofu, egg roll etc.. The samosa wontons are a must have in my book. For protein options they give you tofu (steamed or fried,) black beans, and red pinto beans. The Tom Ka soup was excellent and chock full of tons of vegetables. Another must have is the pineapple fried rice which is topped with roasted pumpkin seeds and uses brown rice instead of white rice, a delicious, hearty and filling dish. Of course they have Thai tea but if you like ginger their lemongrass ginger tea is just about perfection in my book and can be ordered hot or iced. Nestled in the vintage shops on San Francisco Street, this charming little restaurant surpassed my expectations of flavor. Everything was fresh and flavorful. This restaurant doesn't look like much but the food is really good! I had the pineapple yellow curry (level 3) and it was delicious! I loved the egg roll as well! I had tofu as my protein and they offered for it to be either steamed or fried. I chose steamed and it soaked in a lot of the sauce and was delicious. It's hard for being vegan and on a road trip. I came back here twice. The first time I ordered Tokyo roll, and tum yum soul. It was okay, I wasn't impressed. But I am appreciate they infused sushi into vegan. The soup was a bit plain. But a hungry vegan is a beast. When I came back there I ordered pai Thai, and sample plate. Geez, they were sooooo good. Was looking for a place where we could get a vegan/plant based meal. The Red Curry satisfied our pallet.

Food is very good for vegan--I've been here many times and it is also very consistent. Servers are friendly as well. My 3 star rating comes from the fact that as long as this place has been in existence, I don't think they have ever taken the time to dust the place. The light fixtures and upwards toward the ceiling have many dust bunnies which kind of grossed me out. I also don't think they change the oil used to fry very often, which kind of throws me off as one of my favorite dishes here is the Pad Thai with fried tofu. I may start going here again if I notice it to be cleaner, but several times I have walked in and turned right around because of the dust along the walls and up to the ceiling. This review is intended to get the owners attention to this matter, if not from me, hopefully another patron. It's also a cool spot because you can BYOB. Happy vegan eating! read more
