After an evening of partying, the homies and I stopped by to get something soupy. The House Combo Noodle Soup on the menu looked amazing. I was super excited to pick two proteins to add to the noodle soup. Sadly, the broth was bland, flavorless, and super disappointing. The proteins were okay, but forgettable. I remember enjoying this place the few times I came previously... I was disappointed in half of the dishes we ordered. Chow fun had absolutely no flavor. Dishes were cold. Our waiter was strange, too, making us feel insecure for the amount of food we ordered (4 dishes and an appetizer for two) and laughed at us. I hadn't eaten anything that day, it was dinner time, and I was starving! Made us feel guilty for the left overs and scraped all of them into one dish right in front of us, like, see how much food you wasted? But we finished 80% of the food! We wanted to take the leftovers, but we had a show after, which we explained. He also blurted out the total on our check in front of us before handing it over. I dont usually leave reviews at Casino restaurants but I had to give one due to a wonderful experience! After watching the BEP concert my group got hungry and decided we wanted some rice. The food didnt disappoint! The Mongolian Beef, walnut prawns and orange chicken were all delish and good portions. Not too much not too little. The highlight though even more than the food was the server Mack! He made sure to check on us and was just overall great throughout our dinner. We will definitely be coming back for sure! Took over 45 minutes to get our meal. The bartender never came back to ask for drinks. We had to ask on multiple occasions where our dinner was. He finally came back after 40 minutes and said there was two orders in front of us. However, people that came in after us were already served and almost done eating. Its been four years since my last review and they get a half a start bump as I have visited quite a few more times when I said I would not return. However, that is only because I have free comps to pay for it. Otherwise, I still don't think they are worth the price would highly likely use my own hard earned money. If service was better, I would change that view but it is horrible. Food is decent. It is better than Panda Express but I can also find better for less at a Chinese hole in the wall. You are paying for the pretty ambience but you sure are not paying for service! Most of the time they never come back. I always have to flag down for refills or to get our ticket or anything else we may need. Food takes a while to come out at times. Our "lunch" came to $60 after tip. I could be just as satisfied going to Subway, lol. But yeah try it once, you might like it. They do have some lunch specials for $12.99 during the day that I think is fair. The food was NOT up to par today. We ordered our favorite Kung Pao chicken as well as the chicken with Chinese broccoli. We requested it to be less oil and less salt. The food was good, but it came out cold as if it were microwaved... It was very overpriced, and the presentation of the mongolian beef and chowmein was very disappointing. We love Red Lantern! It's our go to place at Thunder Valley. Polly is usually our server, she is friendly, efficient and knows how to treat her guests. If Polly is not available Angela is a complete joy to have serve, also very friendly, efficient and will be a treat. Food is always amazing. Fresh, hot and delicious. Mongolian Beef is the best ever. Unfortunately, one of the waiters declined to serve us. He said, the restaurant is too busy to take our TO GO orders and left us just like that. I wanted to speak to the manager or the head of the Thunder Valley Casino but it is getting late and we have to look for Chinese restaurant around the area, we have our son with special needs who loves Chinese food. To make the situation really disappointing, we don't really know the area. We are from another city and too hungry. Another employee approached us and respectfully said the same thing. We ordered the following and my ranking is next to it : -Chicken wings - 10/10 -Bbq pork 7/10 would be higher if the meat was served warm and not cold -Chicken Chow Mein - 10/10 - General chicken 8/10 would be 10/10 if they had onion in it -Sticky Rice - 8/10 this was delicious, me personally I'd prefer without the mini shrimp.
