Just looking for an excuse: After reviewing the comments on Yelp I must admit I was not sure if Red Lilly Plumbing could be the same company as all these disturbing comments. In the past I found the use of Yelp to be one sided and the agent for bashing a local business with out justification. After getting three bids for replacement of our sewer I am thankful to meet the owner Giovanni Torreschico. He was straight forward, and companionate about the work he performs for his customers. Like Rooter Router and the other drain company, he looked over the job, put a camera into the line, and showed me the problem that was backing up my service line. His solution cost half the amount of the rival companies and he gave a chance to do the work in two parts to solve my problem. First he found the source of the problem in the street. He cut the sidewalk and excavated down to the problem. He found that the concrete that sealed the clay pipe was broken and allowed a root from the street to grow and become the source of the problem. The root thrived on waste and water and grew thick and long, almost 6' to 8' inside the clay pipe. Red Lilly cut away the problem, and then put a camera inside the pipe, from the sidewalk to the street and I was able to see the entire 6" sections of the clay pipe all the way until it connected to the city sewer (10" line). "Seeing is believing" is always the best policy for a customer to be educated, There were massive amounts of roots in the 6" sewer pipe. I was given a solution that made sense; to wash or hydro jet the line and considers using the new technology Red Lilly has to offer. To shoot a 6" liner inside the pipe that becomes rock hard from the resin, thus stopping any more roots from entering and causing a problem. Our house is on a natural riverbed and it was not the tree in front of my house but the natural roots growing in the streets. I chose the liner and was willing to fix my sewer line completely since it had not been touched these last 63 years. Part two of the work Red Lilly suggested that we survey the line from the sidewalk back onto my property and see how the inside of my 4"clay pipe looked since we had a clear open trench. Seeing broken sections and additional root infestation I was given a chance to use the Red Lilly new trenchless solution. The choice was digging one additional hole onto the property and pipe bursting a new pipe inside the clay to give me a brand new sewer line. Unfortunately, We had a problem with this solution. Who would have guess that they hit a foundation of solid concrete in the middle of the line. Not understanding why I would have concrete 7 feet down on my property, I called my neighbor whose family built the first houses in our cud de sac to find that we had a septic tank the first 15 years. Red Lilly went the extra mile and gave me another solution to create my new sewer line from my house to the street connection. In fact, it turned out to more work for Red Lilly, but they stuck to their bid. They perfectly cleaned up the property every day and the last day they laid new sod to replace the ugly, rooted grass I had. Please Note: I have cast iron pipe under my house and one day I will change it to ABS plastic to stop waste from sticking to the walls of the pipe. Will I have problems unrelated to Red Lilly and the answer may be yes. Showers and toilets can back up but it will not be due to the work completed in front of the house. I will again rely on Red Lilly's professional help to solve my problem and eliminate obstructions. I highly recommend Red Lilly Plumbing as a solid company. To all of you reading those negative posts regarding Red Lilly Plumbing & Heating, I would say to you...do not put much stock in the reviews! Red Lilly is in a class of their own, they will give you a fair and competitive estimate right on the spot! My story: I recently purchased my family estate located in South Pasadena which was built in 1895, the home had not been upgraded in any regard so needless to say the plumbing was just as historic as the house. When my plumbing backed up on me this last time it was the last straw, I could not shower or flush my toilets or even wash dishes. My plumbing had been backing up for years, I would literally get the line snaked every 4 months or less. So I decided that it was time to just replace the line all together. I received five separate estimates from local (LA County) plumbing companies to replace the entire length of sewer line on my property (75ft) by means of trench-less technology, install a clean out by the driveway for my RV which was an additional 20 feet, plus I wanted to include the shooting of a liner inside the city sewer line of 40 feet. Red Lilly was by far the most reasonable regarding the price for the amount of work to be done. I had two clean-outs located on the left side of the house, one towards the back corner and one towards the front because of the distance. The total span of sewer line on my property was nearly 75 feet in length of 4 inch clay pipe, and from my property line to the cities main sewer line it was another 40 feet. As anyone who has done their research will find that it is relatively easy to do plumbing work on your property, it is a whole different story to do work outside your property line when it involved public right of ways and streets. As soon as the contract was made, the owner himself (Giovani) who had come out to give me the bid pulled out the snake from his truck and cleared my line free of charge on the spot so that I could use my facilities. He informed me that he would be out the next day with a small crew to start the job, and he was. When Giovani came out that following morning he spoke to me about the problems that may arise if the city sewer line was too damaged to shoot the liner inside. I really appreciated the honesty as well as being informed of any potential issues that may end up costing me significantly more money. I instructed him to proceed. While pulling the trench-less pipe through the old clay pipe simultaneously bursting it in place, the one inch elevator cable snapped under ground. WOW! Seriously, that was the last thing any of us expected! The only option was to dig where the cable had snapped in order to retrieve the bursting tip. Once the digging started, the men were stumped at what they found...the clean out had been encased in concrete cinder blocks and then concrete was also poured in and around them. This seemingly "easy job" just became a nightmare! Giovani not once complained or stopped working, he just instructed his workers on how to proceed and continued the job to completion. To his credit, he definitely displayed the characteristics of an excellent leader/business owner. The job ended up taking one extra day to complete due to the unforeseen event that took place, but he did not change the price on me even though this extra work cost him significantly more time and money to rectify. Knowing that it's hard to find a plumbing company you can trust and rely on, I believe that I have finally found that company and that company is RED LILLY PLUMBING. I called Red Lilly Plumbing regarding a potential leak in my house as I could hear the hissing sound of water. My house is built on a concrete slab. I scheduled an appointment with Red Lilly Plumbing to come and make an assessment. Giovanni and his manager Ed came over the same day I called, prior to the scheduled appointment to see how the bad the situation could be in case it needed immediate attention. They determined that the leak was indeed in the manifold inside my house and Giovanni and manager Ed provided me with a description of the problem, what needed to be done, what my options were, and an estimate cost range of the options. Shortly after leaving from assessing my problem, I called Red Lilly Plumbing to inform them of the option I was selecting and to have them email me the estimate so that I could get the job started. We scheduled the appointment and on the appointed day two great looking plumbers came, Anthony S. and Carlos T. They were both very professional, knowledgeable, respectful, practice safety, and answered any questions that I had. As Carlos was working to find my property main line they had difficulty at first. Giovanni came over with some instrument to help in locating the main line. After finding the location, we changed the original plan of the repair and came up with a change which meant replacing the existing exterior plumbing with new copper plumbing and pex piping instead of relocating the manifold to a different location. During the day, manager Ed came by to see how the work was progressing to make sure that everyone was on the same page in making the needed repair. Everything was done step by step with detail. Success was achieved when they fixed my leaking issue. I watched both Anthony and Carlos working, and they were very careful, detailed, and made sure the work was done correctly. Following completion, the manager Ed came by to check on the work performed. They did an excellent job. My main leak was fixed but they found a second leak in the manifold which meant additional assessment and repair. I scheduled the appointment with them to come back to find that problem. The same two awesome plumbers came back. Manager Ed also came to talk of the plan to fix the problem. This time they determined that they needed to rerun hot and cold water lines from the manifold to the back end of the house which meant opening up the ceiling and walls to run the lines. Time was spent doing this but they did a careful job. Once the lines were run and connected, the problem was finally fixed. What a relief!! I was very happy with all the work done to resolve my leaking water issues. It's good to see plumbers working together in making sure that the work is done in the best way possible. I would highly recommend choosing Red Lilly Plumbing for any of your plumbing needs! They provide excellent service and they work together as a team to resolve issues and to make sure that the workmanship is done well and to the customers satisfaction. Ever since I met my wife I've been looking up reviews for businesses before I use them And restaurants before I visit them Before I met her, I didn't know this info was out there. Anyway, I didn't do that with Red Lilly at first. I took my kids to my moms house for a visit and as I was driving there I saw one of their trucks. Thought nothing of it except that I had NEVER heard of them before lol I got to my moms and later she told me to try to unclog her bathtub. I tried and couldn't do it. So Red Lilly popped in my head from earlier. I was still at the bathtub hen I asked my mom to look up their number and call them (since I knew they would be in the area) Right before the guy showed up I was looking at these reviews and was prepared for a disappointment. I was almost ready to cancel but I had it in my head to kick him out as soon as I saw ANYTHING negative, The guy showed up and looked tired. I'm assuming he was still working on the place down the street. My mom offered him a drink which irritated me. But she's a sweetheart so I wasn't surprised. He went to the bathroom and investigated for a bit. As he was doing his job I realized that I was being kind of a jerk because of these reviews. He hadn't done anything wrong and I already didn't like him and my mom caught on to it. The guy called me into the bathroom and told me the problem, told me the price of the job. I agreed to the price and he began to work. He was very straight to the point. He finished up and asked for a rag to clean up some mess he left. I told him not to worry about it and I brought up all the negative reviews. He chuckled a little and said "Yea, people can write whatever they want on there. Even if it isn't true." He ended the conversation by saying they were under new management and doing better than ever! "You can't believe everything you read, not the good stuff or the bad.
