We ordered the Mariners boil, it is not a good as it seems to be. 50 dollars for a cluster of snow crab legs two very small lobsters and dozen of what seemed to be baby shrimp and very small potatoes. As for the service the waitress was very nice. Overall I just do not recommend the Seafood boils as I assume the shrimp is very same for both of them and the cheaper one's only seafood is the shrimp. read more

The wife and I made a quick last minute dinner decision to stop in at our favorite seafood restaurant. The food never fails here, always fresh, always great! Our excellent waitress Mercedes was helpful in getting our order in quick and out to us in record time, and she also made sure the drinks were never empty. I went ahead and got the Create Your Own Ultimate Feast and selected the Grilled Lobster Tail, Atlantic Salmon, with 2 Grilled Shrimp Skewers, while my wife selected the Ultimate Endless Shrimp and got a variety of shrimp entrees. I really needed this food. I went in and had a tank top on. I was very weak feeling due to walking there in the hot summer heat. At first before entering the building I peeked inside. I believe a lot in JUST TO GET A PEEK. I could see everything inside of there through the windows. I waited for nightfall to finally enter the premises. I smelled the fried food of fish before me. I then ordered the food. They communicated with me in a formal fashion so I could get what I came for. I had to pay for the food, which is common in places where society thrives. The buildings surrounding, the street run ragged with vehicles. There was homeless people recreating the Sistine Chapel where their clothes were less and their begging was more. I have lived in Bakersfield for 25 years and until last month, I had never set foot into the Rosedale Red Lobster because I simply don't like seafood. That said, I figured I'd give it a shot because I heard the wagyu bacon cheeseburger is pretty good. After trying it, it seems I heard wrong. My wife and I stopped in on a Tuesday night around 6PM. The parking lot was moderately full but we came inside to find a large number of hungry people loitering near the front doors, waiting to be seated. After checking in with the hostess we found a place to stand and waited about 45 minutes before we were escorted to a table. I couldn't help but notice the number of empty tables around the place - there was just no one to serve them. Once we were seated our server was very attentive and friendly as she provided our menus and took our drink orders. I had a couple of beers and my wife had a cocktail. We noticed the prices here are rather high but hey - YOLO. My wife ordered the fish and chips and I went with the burger I was so amped up about. We were given ample cheddar bay biscuits - I think I asked for second and third helpings. Okay, four. Food showed up in a reasonable time and my wife was luke warm about her fish and chips. They were nothing to write home about. My burger though, straight up sucked. It was about an eighth of an inch thick and despite asking for medium it was burnt to a crisp. Eventhe bun was dried out as though it had lived been left in a hot car for two days. It was probably a heatlamp, but still. All in all, despite our server's best efforts - this place ain't it, chief. I'll try again in 2050 or so. read more

It's been several years since we stopped in and decided it might be good to try again for some seafood. It's a very casual place but good to be able to have great service and good menu choices. I saw a lot of families enjoying time together. The drinks were good and the food was delicious. You have to love the biscuits. I had grilled shrimp and they were very accommodating to provide double veggies instead of rice. We made reservations, but at the time we went, it probably wasn't necessary. read more

Im not sure how to start this review. It was a party of 4 but im only going to talk about my plate. I ordered the fish and chips and that was a real big mistake. First the plate is $18.99 and all you get is a single piece of fried fish with a handful of fries. I first thought it was a mistake, but I was assured by our waitress it was a single piece and if I wanted more I had to order another plate. So that was upsetting especially if your paying $18.99!!! and top it off, the fried had no flavor and it was chewy!! Tarter sauce was meh... If you want fish and chips, please do yourself the favor and go somewhere else!!! For what we were charged you can get 3-4 pieces somewhere else and probably taste better too. I had a craving for seafood and my food experience was a greatly underwhelming one. The service was ok, appetizer arrived after meal was eaten , what can you do? The food taste was high in sodium and the drinks tasted low in alcohol. I forced myself to eat the lobster bisque, it took great effort. Red Lobster's chowder tasted about the same as Campbells or Progresso. I am not use to eating so much pre prepped foods like Golden Coral or Hometown Buffets. Came in on a Monday night, I don't know what team is working that night but I have to say, best service I have ever had in a restaurant. Drinks were refilled before you were half way through one, appetizers and salads came up fast. I say team because it wasn't just our server that was great it was the hostess, the busser, the kitchen staff did not disappoint with the garnishes, and anyone that would swing by to ask us if we needed anything. Red Lobster is a classic! Went here recently for a work lunch and it is always a great option! We went during the week and it was fairly empty, but service was still great! Their AC always runs a bit high (bring a sweater inside). Their parking lot is large, but it wasn't an issue at all since there were only a few cars there. Their menus have changed from a big book of options to a covid-friendly paper menu with all the same items (but, no pictures). Their tables were clean and they spaced out their guests pretty well. I had a combination plate with their parrot isle coconut shrimp, salmon, mashed potatoes and a Caesar salad. The Caesar salad was basic but had good flavor! Their coconut shrimp is always a win!!! Delicious, crispy and the tropical dipping sauce is sooo good!!! Their grilled salmon was also good, but it was a little dry. The mashed potatoes were also so delicious!! And the special red lobster cheddar biscuit rolls?!?! Those rolls are always amazing!!!! All in all, Red Lobster is a good option for lunch or dinner! read more

Yes I'm on that Red Lobster bandwagon!!!! All day, everyday! Most people that know me usually question why I come to visit Red Lobster, seeing that I'm allergic to Lobster, Crab, and Shrimp, but don't worry... it's worth it popping the Benadryl haha. Not going to lie, it gets more and more expensive every time I dine in. I absolutely love seafood and I know, Red Lobster is a chain restaurant, but it's just one of those places that I'll absolutely always love. Seafood definitely has my heart and stomach. Yes the lobster is the star here, but pretty much all the items are yummy. I don't visit Red Lobster often, so recently I had a gift card that was recently gifted to me and I was told they no longer take the gift cards that say "Darden" anymore, so if you have a gift card then you might not be able to use it here. The facility stays clean, if you dine in, lighting is not so good and the servers are okay. Once in a great while, you'll get excellent service. read more

My overall experience (including dine-in and take-out) is 4 stars here. I usually like their food but I've noticed a difference between when you dine in vs. when you order pick up for the same dish. I agree with some of the early reviewers regarding prices. I do expect lobster and crabs and scallops to be pricey but I think the portion vs. the price is a little off-ratio. I do love the dessert options here always. Key lime pie and brownie overboard are family favorites. read more

Yesterday was my first time at a red lobster in probably 10 years. I usually have fairly set expectations for chain restaurants and came in expecting a very mediocre but decent meal. I was pleasantly surprised that we got much more. First off, our server, Zach, was awesome. He was very attentive and made good recommendations on their appetizers and specials. We ordered the lobster and langostine pizza app, and decided to share a steak and lobster dinner, which is a special on Wednesday nights. He brought out the famous cheddar bay biscuits and offered refills after we finished as well as some to take home. You definitely can't leave here hungry! The pizza was cooked well and was a nice light appetizer before dinner. Our steak, which was about 6-7 ozs was surprisingly perfectly cooked and had good flavor. The lobster was also cooked well, and not rubbery or overdone as is easy to do with shellfish. Overall, we will definitely return here, and it won't take 10 years! read more

Meh. Lots of empty seats and an inattentive server makes for a frustrating lunch. We did have a problem and the manager helped to mitigate the damage to his credit. Higher end dishes were very good (lobster, lobster rolls, and alfredo), but those that went for value or lesser dishes were disappointed (bisque was very thick and heavy). I ordered the snow crab a la cart which was and additional $11.99 to the cost of my meal, which in my opinion is an expensive once a month meal. We were in Bakersfield yesterday on business and my lady and I were hungry and were passing Red Lobster on Rosedale and decided to have lunch. We walked inside and were immediately greeted by a very friendly hostess and were seated almost immediately as well. Our server named Mandy showed up and took our drink and app order and took the time to talk and learn a little about us. Mandy was very professional as well as courteous and just down right friendly. Our drinks and app came out right away Mandy as well as other staff came by several times to check on us and refill our drinks. when the food came out the meal was very good as well as the atmosphere. The kids were craving Alfredo and I was craving seafood. So I checked Red Lobster's menu and saw that they had a Shrimp Linguini Alfredo family meal for about $27.99. It came with 8 Cheddar Bay biscuits and a good helping of the pasta. The pasta was very creamy with a good amount of shrimp. We also ordered the Langostino Lobster Artichoke and Seafood Dip. The Dip was barely of adequate amount, but it was full of flavor. The only thing I had an issue with was the curbside pickup. When I arrived to pick up my order, I waited a few minutes and they requested I pay inside. When I entered the restaurant, I was not directed where to go and ended up waiting in line since I could not find the gentleman who assisted me. I ended up looking in the bar area towards the back and saw a lady waiting by a computer holding a receipt. I assumed I was in the right area since there was a to go bag on the counter.
