This was our go to date night and family night special in Bakersfield. Great service, fast seating, clean tables and bathrooms, kind wait staff, and the food was delicious. The food actually looks and tastes as if the pictures and tv commercial were on spot. The drinks are also strong and tasty and hit the spot. I disappointed myself tonight by ever returning to this Red Lobster. I vowed years ago that I would never come again due to the lack of good quality service on different occasion's. Then I let myself get talked into going again about 2 years ago, and I swore up and down I would never come again after how awful the service was again. Guess what happen on Christmas 2020, I got a gift card for here. Tonight my wife talked me into going after telling her for a year and a half is never go again. Guess what! They failed us again... People around us who sat after us and ordered after us, got their appetizers first. No buggy until ours came cold because it was sitting there. I finished my drink and my water before the appetizer came out. Ordered another drink when the appetizer came out and asked for a refill on my water. Never got either. Empty until we left. Our waiter NEVER came to check on us. Dinner comes out at the same time as our salads, ours my plate down, there is food on the plate I didn't order, and food I ordered missing. He takes the plate to the kitchen and returns 15 seconds later and just took the crab legs off my plate and threw a cold lobster tail on the same plate, and still comes back with out scallops. He also tells me he is going to check on my drink and I asked if I could at least have water. I finish the soggy breaded shrimps, and everything else and then here comes my scallops. I was about to drink the remainder of the butter at this point that I was so thirsty. When he dropped the scallops off he said he was going to check on my drink. He never returned for 15 minutes, we had to ask other waiters for boxes and to remove the drink of the bill, after I paid, and we were getting up he brings out check. I won't even get started on my wife's food that looked like they took a crab cake and chopped it up because the crab had a breaded like texture to it. The manager came over mid payment and tried taking my payment machine from me to try and give us a discount, but at that point it was such an awful dinner, paid in full and I assure you I will never return to this mismanaged dump of a restaurant. That makes 4+ awful experiences. I gave you guys enough chances but I wouldn't even recommend this place to a dog. We didn't even go at the dinner rush, they were busy, tables open no wait. I know a lot of people aren't crazy about Red Lobster and reading the reviews I understand why. But we actually had a very delicious meal tonight. We wanted to take my son for his favorite, Crab Legs for a back to school treat. Walking in there was maybe three tables being used. That usually makes me nervous. My husband ordered the daily special, the Admirals Feast. We were all very happy with our meal. The mashed potatoes I got with my meal were horrible. Like eating paste, but not why I am at Red Lobster. So I just didn't eat them. And I am not deducting stars for that , because everything else was perfect. My coconut shrimp comes with their delicious Pina Colada sauce. I could just drink it, it's so yummy. Carrie kept our drinks filled and checked on us often. She was cheery and very friendly. I hope when we visit again that we get her as our waitress. Red Lobster is definitely not cheap but getting the specials helped keep the price down. Our server wasnt very busy and came and took our drink order. It took a while to get both drinks and bread. Our server was very nice and tried her best. My husband ordered a salad with lemon vinaigrette dressing they brought a salad with no dressing. I ordered the ultimate feast it comes with crab legs which I had nothing to crack it with. Found myself having dinner with my husband here hoping things would be better. The last few dining experiences have been less than satisfying. Saddened by the depreciation of the food and service after many years of patronage. My $20 plate was all "plate." Biggest platter ever with little mounds of food floating around. They should use smaller plates to make up for the skimpy portions. I ordered the combination platter with multiple upgrades. I had the seared scallops and Salmon with rice pilaf, lobster bisque and Caesar salad. Soup was served first. But it wasn't Lobster bisque. It was clam chowder! Then my plate came...the smallest scallops on a skewer, a small portion of salmon and about 2 tablespoons of rice pilaf. The rice pilaf was so dry, the rice kernels were hard to bite into. When my lobster bisque finally came, it was overwhelmingly salty. Service was slow. Did not feel any enthusiasm from the staff. Little to no effort to make the dining experience worth my while. There was about 5 tables being served. The place was not busy. No reason for service to be so bad. Will not be back again. I rarely give a bad review. We visited RL for my daughter's 10th birthday. She is a shrimp fanatic, and it happened to be the last day of their "Endless Shrimp" promotion, donut was the perfect dinner spot. Such a treat for her to eat off the adult menu since she's normally ordering from the kids menu, specifically because Mami and Daddy love going to restaurants where kids eat free. When we came in, there was a 10 min wait for our table. We were able to sit in the entrance and were seated towards the restrooms. Not an issue for us as our kids regularly use the restroom at restaurants. The restaurant itself was clean, smelled decent, and the staff was friendly. However, it did take our server about 20 min to take our order once we were seated. Luckily, our salads came out within 5-6 minutes, and our meals were served roughly 15 min after we ordered. For $15.99, my wife and daughter both got the endless shrimp meal, and had their fills. Each ate about 15 shrimp each! They also shared a 4-5 oz lobster tail, and my son got a 3 oz kids lobster meal. I got a fried cod meal for $14 with fries and a salad. Our server was very attentive and brought out different assortments of shrimp for the endless shrimp promo, and even got us boxes to take some to go (not many as I said my wife and daughter devoured most of them). The experience would've been 5-star quality, however our original wait for our order, and the below-average fried cod (not to mention the tartar sauce being super sweet) brought the rating down to 4-Star.
