Went here with my girlfriend for Valentines Day. She loved it, the food was great. Super long wait, and they do not take reservations. Luckily, this restaurant is located near the Mall so we were able to do some sight shopping while we waited to be called to seat. You definitely get what you paid for, the shrimp linguini was my favorite, and the cheddar biscuits are delicious. The price is fair for what you get. It's been years since I've been here! First of all, the unlimited shrimp for 18.99 - worth it. The food is delicious. The reason I wanted to leave a review was because of someone in particular - Johvanny. This young man was one of the best servers I've had to date. He was so attentive to our table and we were never "without" I didn't have to ask for anything, refills came without notice and his overall demeanor was so sweet. I came on Valentine's Day and my food was awful (consider I'm 18 and young) Very flavorless I ordered the Alfredo with shrimp and it had absolutely no flavor I asked for a side of Alfredo sauce. I rarely leave reviews but had a great experience here recently and wanted to share. My husband and I have an annual tradition of picking up Red Lobster on New Years Eve. This year we found out our favorite menu item was only available on weekdays. The manager was very nice and helped us put together something similar from other menu items and even gave us a little something extra for the hassle. Went for a night out and had dinner on a Saturday night. It was crowded but the wait was not too long. There does seem to be some management problems with this particular red lobster. We thought it would be nice to have a drink at the bar while we wait for a seat. However every space at the bar was being occupied by full menu patrons! This included patrons under 21 and those not even purchasing bar drinks. I would say maybe limit to those guests over 21 and limit the menus to appetizers. The problem seemed to result in an overworked bar staff that has to not only take full menu orders and service but take drink orders for bar patrons and drink orders for the wait staff as well. It just doesn't seem fair for too many people just to serve a few full service patrons at the bar. Once we were seated, we expected to have our favorite cheese biscuits! Didn't happen...we got them long after our appetizers arrived and did not taste great. We thought they were really thick and hard to eat. We asked the waitress about why they changed the recipe. She said there was no change but that the mixer was out and the staff is having to mix it by hand. My question is when are they going to get it replaced (management)? Answer from the wait staff was uncertain because it has been that way for a while. Also had to wait for part of my meal to show up. They served the meal with one part missing. You could tell they were trying to hold off because my pasta sauce had a film on it and the lobster tail was already dry on the surface. My missing item (rock lobster tail) showed up about 5 min later and it was fine. Otherwise, most of the food is good. It would be nice to have them expand their beer selection with local craft beers also. Overall, I think of this place could hash out a few basic food management and front management problems, this could be a great place to come back to. read more

So, I know it's Mother's Day and we are in "stay at home" mode, but even with a holiday and the revision of mandated laws this place was NOT at all prepared. We placed an order at 4:35p to be ready for curbside at 6p. We arrive at 5:55p for our curbside pickup. We are greeted by a LONG line and a parking lot FULL of customers waiting. A young gentleman, who was very polite asked for our names and called it in for us. He did advise us that the facility was "a little behind". We parked and waited for 32 minutes in our car. After the 32 minutes my husband and I decided to go inside to see where we stood in line and about how much longer. We were now told by yet another polite woman that the line for pickup was behind by 1 1/2-2hours. This is NOT "behind a bit". We were told we could wait in line for a refund if we wish to do so or wait for our name to be called. My husband and I waited another hour. During this hour the line for "cancellations and refunds" continued to grow out the door. While the other two encounters from employees were polite we encountered an employee inside who clearly had lost her patience. She had an unapproachable face. She spoke to customers with unfriendly tone. She too avoided people unless they came up to her. I get that it's a stressful night with the holiday and the conditions, but you also work in a field where you know that people aren't happy when they're not informed. I personally feel that the establishment 1) should have stopped taking orders if they couldn't keep up. 2) could have emailed if orders weren't going to be ready on time. -people missed being with family because of their lack to keep up. I too work with in the customer service field. I don't know if I have seen a lack of organization as this. Or lack of politeness. read more

The only star is for great service of staff. I ordered the lobster meal, my husband ordered shrimp Alfredo and my son had chicken. The lobster was rubbery but tasty. It was my birthday and I appreciate the staff gave me an ice cream sundae. That night, I had nausea, vomiting and diarrhea that i spent the whole night in the bathroom. I had to go to ER. I was diagnosed to have food poisoning and chronic diverticulitis. I don't know if we'll ever eat again at this restaurant. read more

Really bad. Crab had no taste, and not much meat. Scallops were ok. Roasted brussel sprouts were fit for the garbage. Fried shrimp also tasteless. I kept putting butter on to get some taste out of anything, and needed to eat the day old cheese rolls to fill up. Also, they're still serving iceberg "lettuce" in salads. That passed muster in 1980, but not in this century. Red Lobster has simply not grown up with the rest of us. We know that most chains get their food from a Sysco truck, but the successful chains disguise it. Red Lobster never bothered to learn how. We took advantage of the $17.99 4 course meal with Soup, Salad, Entree and Desert, all for $17.99. It is kinda hidden in a small attachment page, so you have to look for it. Its not part of the regular menu. The food was so much, we had to take some home. Great service, great menu, great pricing. And oh, its NOT in the Brea Mall. Didn't like our appetizer too much. We had the New England Sampler. (Bacon rolled clams, fried calamari and lobster stuffed mushrooms) After refilling my sister's and huband's drink, he explained to us about the long wait for our meal. (There was a big group on the other side of the restaurant, so their order was trying get to filled first.) He was really nice about it and even offered us soup on him because of the long wait. He checked up on us, like every few minutes making sure that we were okay with everything. Well, we finally got our meal. Pretty awesome. I actually enjoyed it, and thought it was better then I had expected it to be. After examining my food, I realized it was the Shrimp Scampi, not the Garlic Jumbo Shrimp that I ordered. I called the next day, asking what to do in terms of how I will be receiving my money back. He handled the situation with grace and patience. Great service this time! My wife loves lobster tail. Unfortunately the cooks tend to leave it under the broiler to 'finish' it way too long. If you tell your server that you don't want an over-cooked lobster - it usually works. Lobster is pretty easy to cook, and just as easy to screw up if you leave it under a broiler or heat lamp. Came here for lunch as I was craving a steak. It was lunch time and there was no wait. I ordered their New York strip with rock lobster tail and mashed potatoes. I also ordered asparagus as my second side and they charged me an additional $3 dollar of top of the $38 price tag of plate. While I waited they brought out some cheddar baked biscuits which were not only delicious but so addicting. I couldn't stop eating them. I also ordered an Odouls beer to wash it down. The food took quite a while to come out but when it did it looked fantastic. The steak was very well done and very juicy. The lobster tail was also fantastic and had a great taste. The mashed potatoes and asparagus were great too. Coupled with some more biscuits and my beer I was eating like a king. I absolutely loved my meal regardless of dropping like $50 for lunch. But YOLO lol. Service was decent but they often did not check on me and went missing. In all I would come again when feeling generous and enjoy another meal here. read more

i used to love this location, and recently, it has gone to shit - to be frank. for a time, my boyfriend and i decided to boycott it after a horrible experience with the waitress, and the credit card payment, and...ugh! a few weeks ago, we really wanted affordable seafood, so we tried again, and it was even worse. the waitress had a horrible attitude, and she was slow, and seemingly upset whenever we asked for refills on drinks and biscuits (which tasted old, and were actually hard and barely heated) and my catfish was, literally, stale. The staff was nice when we came in with the greeter quoting us a 20 minute wait, and the woman who sat us was great. The atmosphere was lively and calm. My mom had the crabfest bake and I had the four course seafood meal. Our server Joselynn did a good job and did not rush us a lot. This is my favorite location. The food here tastes 100 times better than the one in Lakewood which is 10 mins from me. I drive here mostly for the quality. But the service is slow, and the place is always packed. Expect an hour plus wait. Having dinner on a Monday night around 8:30 pm and thinking that it's closed when you park in the parking lot because it's so dark inside & couldn't see anyone inside. When walking in there was no one there to greet us, I guess it's a slow night so why is the host going to wait for someone to come in when they can be doing something else. But I loved the host he was really friendly and talkative! Our waiter was Alison, I believe. She was a good waiter but could be better. The reason why I say that is because we asked for a box to go and never got it. So yes I left my shrimp Alfredo. In a way, I'm glad she didn't bring the box because it had a weird flavor to it. Like if they put too much of something. My bf said his plate was salty so I'm guessing it was a new chef or they just love to add extra. What happened to Red Lobster? We go to Brea from Santa Ana because the one by my house is not very good. Well Brea just dropped down for me. They first delivered us the wrong tables food. Then they brought us ours which wasn't what we ordered. I ordered the Ultimate feast. The brought me something with Scallops and no crab. For something different I ordered the Chesapeak Corn. The corn was so dried out I did not eat it. They finally brought me the crab and it was ice cold. We spent over 80 dollars for lack luster food. I remmber when you could go to Red Lobster and get a fresh good meal. Tonight was one of those nights. read more

The only reason we ever go to Red Lobster is if someone has given us a gift card. This restaurant is just too expensive for the quality of food and service. We had a gift card and went there for dinner a week or so ago. We hadn't been here for a few years. Nothing has changed. While the service was adequate, it was obvious that they were short handed.
