Service was slow, and a one hour dinner turned into two. They were real good about my allergy though. I know they were packed, but it would be awesome if the extra plates could get cleared. At a table of 6 1/2 on endless shrimp night, dishes get stacked up quickly. The manager came by, though, and we expressed our concerns directly. Service was the worst I have experienced in a long time. Food so-so but not bad. Just seemed like making the customer a priority was not something they usually do. We did have a few other people who were attentive but our main server didn't seem to care. We had to get up and talk to the bartender to follow up on tartar sauce and drink requests that we had previously requested. This won't be a place I will be going back to. read more

A place foodies put down. There's no fu fu meals that many people have played with to get the presentation just right! Nope, and there's no weekly changing menu. They aren't pet friendly. There's no big decks w/tiki lights on the water. There's no live bands or huge vats of beer, and no craft beers. --But dog gone it, they are corporate & constant & that's what list I'm putting 'em on. Extremely poor customer service. We made a reservation on a Monday evening for a Friday birthday dinner for my mom. We arrived at the restaurant and were told they don't take reservations. They did not offer us anything other than a 2 hour wait. Extremely poor service. We won't be back. Someone supposedly from Red Lobster replied to my comment promising to 'make it right'. I have used this person's bogus reference number and contacted corporate twice using their online form and heard nothing back. I had a delightful experience recently at this restaurant because of the outstanding staff. My food server was Randy and he was a complete joy. He was friendly and knew his menu and surprised me with a complimentary birthday dessert without asking. I had a coupon so it tipped him off as to the special occasion. The manager followed through and stopped by to wish me birthday greetings. The food is good but I will go back because of the wait staff. Several of the other food servers stopped by to say "Happy Birthday!" Very impressive and a final greeting by the hosts upon leaving. read more

My husband had a hankering for an admiral's feast. Normally we drive all the way out to the one in Avon because that's the best by far in town. We were on the north side already and decided to go to RL Castleton because #2 I'm town is better than nothing. We get there 6:30pm on a Wednesday there's a bunch of empty tables yet there's a waiting room full of people?? 30 minute wait!! Umm...why?? I can see 6 empty and 2 that need to be cleared. But hubby is whining so we wait. Table seats in 20 min so not bad just yet. Order drinks and appetizers....poof!! Goodbye waiter!! Gone!! Elvis has left the building son!! 18 minutes later here comes a runner with our drinks. 14 minutes later...A La Kazam...waiter is back!! Say what!! Needless to say it was a very looooooooong meal. Updated 11/21/18 -We recently dined here again for our anniversary and I believe our serve was Tai. He was a very nice young man who was very attentive and well mannered. We will ask for to be seated in his section again in our next visit if he is there. ******************^lSo I never wanted to go back to this red lobster after the horrible experience we had last time. The people were really nice, but the food was horrible. Anyhow, we have had a gift card for about two years and needed to use it. So we figured we'd try it again, and guess what..........THEY REDEEMED THEMSELVES.....except for the fries. Everything was cooked perfectly, especially the fried cod. Oh Em Gee, it melted in my mouth!!! The shrimp were super tender and juicy, as well as everything else. The biscuits were just OK, but that's probably my taste buds. When I'm not having a cheat day, I am doing an organic keto diet so Bread just doesn't taste the same anymore. Moreover, it didn't even taste like cheddar. It was more like the seasoning from the top Ramen packets. But again, that was my taste buds because I used to love them. The only issue I had with my food was that the fries again seemed old and stale. My server offered to bring me fresh ones, but I declined. Red Lobster is one of my favorite places to go but recently that is not the case. We went for dinner yesterday and I wasn't pleased with how our food came out. The biscuits (which are my favorite and the reason I really come lol) were overcooked and not hot when they came out. I got the shrimp scampi and they were overcooked as well. I was disappointed. Called at 5:30 pm for a to-go order & was placed on hold for over 20 minutes by a guy. I finally hung up and called back, explained what happened when I was a woman claiming she was the manager put me on hold for another 10 minutes. I finally hung up and went somewhere else. Honestly the food coming from the kitchen and waitress/waiter service is pretty good. My only complaint would be the salads. It's bagged lettuce and most times there are old pieces of lettuce in the salad. I love the salad dressing but wish they would spruce up the salads with fresher lettuce. read more

OOOOK, I will start by saying that I'm embarrassed to be writing this review, b/c I feel like I have really good taste in food and restaurants, but I'm pregnant, so my cravings control my life. He was driving and said he nearly went off the road... He thought for SURE I had seen a commercial (as this is where my biggest cravings come from). I told him it was Yelp and he said "Ok, babe, whatever my babies want". HA! I was NOT disappointed. After waiting nearly 30 minutes (!!! Yes, it was PACKED at 8:00 p.m. but I guess it IS Friday night - what do I know??), we were seated in the bar. Nick waited on us (and I saw a guy from high school who I hadn't seen in about 11 years waiting on a table nearby - he didn't recognize me but whatev) and was great! He was attentive even though he was really busy, kept our iced teas full and biscuits coming. The biscuits were PERFECTION and beyond my expectations and memories of "special occasion" night with my ex. :) I ordered the pick two for $15.99 (jeezum) and got snow crab legs, grilled shrimp, house salad and baked potato (they were out of broccoli - BOO!). It was great! My hubby got the surf and turf and though his steak was perfectly cooked, he said the lobster was bland and unseasoned. Either way, I was VERY pleased with my meal. I doubt my hub will agree to take me back anytime soon (too many kids, too crowded, too much waiting for a chain restaurant) but I thought it was well worth it!! All I can say is YUUUUMMMMY to the biscuits and crab legs. I would have ordered some to go but our bill was already $54 and we weren't drinking (wow! for chain food? UGH). I would still go back. For a solid 10 year stretch of my life, I thought that Red Lobster was the fanciest and most amazing restaurant in the world. I asked my parents to go there for my birthday supper every year and was usually allowed to order something that (gasp) came with lobster! Lots of great memories of RL when growing up means it'll always have a special place in my soul. I don't visit often anymore, but when I do, I'm generally surprised at how much I still like the food. The woodfire-grilled trout is one of my favorites these days, although it was slightly overcooked and not quite as tasty at this location as I've had at other RLs in Indy (3.5 stars of 5). Baked potato was fine (3 stars) and the asparagus was just mediocre (2.5 stars). Cheddar biscuits were superb as usual (4.5 stars). One odd thing is that they've stopped including a salad with your meal ...if you want one now, you have to order it as one of your sides. Weird. All in all, a good but not great experience. Friendly (but slow) service, solid food, reasonable prices and portions. This location is decent but if given the choice, I'd rather visit the Avon or 38th St locations instead. read more

My husband and I initially went here because we had a coupon, but we were pleasantly surprised. The garlic cheddar biscuits were very yummy...I didn't expect so much flavor from a "starter" biscuit. We had their coconut shrimp and the lobster, scallop & shrimp sampler over rice pilaf. The flavors were very good (although the meats were a tad overcooked). What also surprised us was that there were people waiting to get in (15 minute wait) on a Wednesday night at 7 pm! That's highly unusual in this area. Great dining here! While there we were served promptly and asked if we needed anything including take home boxes and to go cups. Our waitress was very friendly. My mother and I went to this location at 5pm . We were seated right away, but we weren't greeted by our server Stephanie until 10minutes later. She only had 2 tables besides us, both of them were cashing out. We never received our bread. When we ordered our drinks my mom asked how much the tea was. Then my mom ordered a water ,stphanie made a rude comment saying they should just charge everyone who orders water. I ordered a cocktail and then asked her how much it was some the prices weren't in the menu. She said it was $9.00,i said ok that's fine. She said "do you still want it or not?" When we finally received our food it was converted in onions ( I'm deathly allergic). Stephanie made a comment saying that I didn't tell her that. I datos I didn't mention it , because it doesn't say it's topped work onions. I went to go get the manager, Stephanie followed me up there. The manager came back to our table I was explaining to her what happened, Stephanie was standing behind her the whole time, I asked her to please let us speak to the manager. She said no because I was lying about what we were telling the manager. The manager didn't step in and say anything. We got up and left , didn't eat our food or anything so we left. I told her I will not be treated like that or talked to like that weeken I'm trying to have a nice meal. I will be calling corporate and I will never go to this location again. Stephanie needs to be fired for how she talked to us. You don't harass customers. I've seen people be fired on the spot for less than that. I would never recommend this location to anyone. read more

My family and I dined at the Castleton Indiana Red Lobster (0371) at 6410 E. 82nd Street Indianapolis, IN 46250 on Saturday, August 28 and had a fine meal. The shrimp was particularly well prepared. The meal, however, was outstanding because of the excellent service by "Sunny". She knows my family well (we dine regularly), knows what we regularly order, brings beverage refills in a timely manner, and simply makes us feel welcome and appreciated. Red Lobster was always a big family choice for birthdays and special occasions growing up. But my husband isn't a fan of fish and I don't think they have much selection for non fish eaters. BUT it was all you can eat shrimp time and some friends invited us to tag along. YUM... Shrimp is really good and they have a lot of choices! You start with 2 kind of shrimp and 2 sides and then can get another order one at time. I loved the grilled shrimp and preferred no sauce, but you have to ask for plain. I also liked the shrimp scampi and the regular coconut shrimp. There were 8 of us and we all ate a ton of shrimp, well all but my husband. Our waitress did a good job of keep up with everyone. I chose the build your own lunch, with fried fish and clam strips. Both were tasty and done perfectly. The baked potato was great, as always, the salad was good...not great, but good, and those biscuits. Oh, those biscuits. So very tasty. I've GOT to say a word about or server, Chris. This is the fourth time I have gone to Red Lobster on Thompson and US31S, and the food has been terrible. Today my crab alfredo dish must have burned on the bottom of the pan and they just scraped the burnt crap from the pan and just threw it on top of my entree and closed it up. I cant figure out how to upload my photos to this review. But also my so-called cheesy biscuits looked like some balled up mush. I took pics of the greasy bag they put it in, a pic of how it looked when I opened the bag, and one of the "biscuits" on my plate. I had hoped the first couple of times were a fluke and they would get better, but better never happened, so I won't be back. read more

We must've caught them on an off day. I've seen quite a few good reviews for this Red Lobster in particular but our experience wasn't fantastic. It took probably 30-45 minutes to be noticed by our waiter. He was quick when he did eventually get to us, so that's good. The food was where things really fell short. I had the seaside shrimp trio. It was okay but it was clear that it had been sitting in the hot-window for a while. The same went for everyone else's food at our table. My Brother's fish in his fish and chips meal was just tough and rubbery, he ended up sending it back and just settling on a baked potato. Other than that, the rest of our family said it was decent but not fantastic which is a shame because our bill was over $100 at the end of the night. I hope to come back some time down the road and try again because they do have some stuff that I like. read more
