You generally know what to expect when you go to a well known chain restaurant. Red Lobster is famous in particular for their Cheddar Bay Biscuits, which in this case were cold. I don't know about you, but I enjoy a warm fluffy biscuit, and this was just not that. I ordered the fried flounder and it arrived oily and hard on the outside as well as discolored by old frying oil. To make matters worse, the center was mushy and undercooked. I came in with reasonable (i.e. not very high expectations) and I left disappointed still. The service left something to be desired, not warm or accommodating at all. On the plus side, leaving the restaurant made me appreciate the fresh air more, as this location has the musty and unappealing scent of too many cleaning products, grease and probably age. Came here on a Monday specifically for their endless shrimp. My server was Alex. He was absolutely amazing. He came promptly and had such a great attitude. He had great timing when it came to giving me space and coming back to check on me. At one point I ordered something I thought was on the endless shrimp menu, when he brought it he gently reminded me it wasn't actually on that menu for future references but that I could have it anyways and didn't charge me. It's tough giving two stars, but I have to be true to myself. I did come here to treat myself. I haven't been here since I was a kid, when coming here with my family was a splurge. As I grew up, my relationship with chain restaurants changed and i would visit them seldom. In my current experience this is really barely a star. Tried Red Lobster for lunch today. Service was slow but the server was friendly. They had an issue with their fryer so my wife's food (fried shrimp with a baked potato) was delivered after I had already finished with my meal (grilled shrimp tacos). Her meal was OK. Mine was both messy and extremely spicy. The construction of the tacos should have been reversed, protein on the bottom, slaw/pico on top. As delivered it was impossible to keep the protein from falling out and splashing sauce everywhere. Also the sauce was extremely spicy and I like spicy but there was no warning given on the menu. If my wife had ordered it, she wouldn't have been able to eat it. I wouldn't get it again. I have had others at Chili's and local eateries that are much better and more satisfying. read more

That being said--I used to live near this location, I've patronized it for years. But the service is really really bad, and I didn't think it was possible, but it's gotten worse over the past year. I last went to pick up a To-Go order of biscuits. When I stepped inside, a lot of servers were crowded around the host-stand checking out (and talking about) the guests as they entered. I went straight to the bar, and an ostensibly bitter manager ignored me for I'd say around 2 minutes (which is a long time when no one else is around and you're standing in front of a person) while she stapled receipts. I said, "Excuse me, I..." and she cut me off and said "The bartender'll get your order." The bar was dirty, and the bartender was rude and didn't make eye-contact, and didn't say anything but the price of the biscuits to me. I used to love this location, but after last night 5/10/20, I am no longer a fan. I ordered online and not only did I not receive my order, the manager refused to give anyone who did not receive their order a refund. He also would not come out and address the crowd of people waiting for their orders.This location was obviously not equipped to handle the large amount of orders. That being said I will be going back to that location to get my refund and after that I will no longer be a patron at that location. Our service was fine; the server was nice and friendly, but not too friendly and not too attentive which was nice. My husband loves their Cheddar Bay Biscuits (at 120 cals a pop he can have them all!) The food was fresh. I got their tilapia with vegs baked in a bag: very moist and tasty. Their shrimp was very good as well. However, mid meal these 3 children just came running out of nowhere doing like acrobatics and playing in the restaurant near peoples tables (why i dont go to chain restaurants). The people watching was interesting.... All in all, ill go back to RL if i'm invited. And!! on our way out we discovered that a Ferrari 529 convertible had parked next to us....beautiful! You know what? I like RL. Sorry, but I do. Though they are a link chain, I still find myself happy when I leave. On my most recent visit, I enjoyed the chef pasta which featured lobster and shrimp in a lobster butter sauce and garnished with tomato and asparagus and I was extremely pleased. I mean, really, I was very happy with the dish. They have done a remodel at this location and it looks pretty nice. The service is hit or miss. On this occasion it was a miss. Our guy took too long to bring anything we requested and didn't check on us nearly enough. Glasses got empty. But on other occasions, service has been really good. The prices at RL are good for some decent seafood in my opinion and those biscuits they serve are awesome. Meals come with a salad (Caesar or garden) and a side. Pasta meals come with a salad only. I've gone their since I was seven years old, and have expanded my pallet from simple fried shrimp and fries to try out other seafood. Lately I've been frequenting this particular establishment for birthdays and after going to the water park with my friends for our marine-themed fun days. Though the restaurant is decorated with tacky sea-themed objects, it's still a fun place to be with family and friends. Wait times vary on when you go. Weekends are definitely busier, but they are very quick to seat you, even if you have large parties. Also, you can hang out at the bar while you wait. There are a lot of combinations to choose from, but they are generous amounts of food regardless of what you choose. Entrees come with a salad beforehand as well as baskets of unlimited cheddar bay biscuits, which are a popular staple and are very delicious. My usual dish is the seaport shrimp and lobster tail, which comes with pilaf rice and a side dish. It was very good and so much food! I usually have to get a take out box, along with some biscuits of course! If you're up for some good seafood and a fun atmosphere with some family or friends, Red Lobster is a good chain for their delicious food and good bang for your buck. read more

Our server told us we were going to have "excellent service". So i'm like - cool! Food: The chedder bay biscuits I think are the best thing going. Food was fine - nothing to write home about. Service: I am not sure where the excellent was suppose to be. They didn't have regular lemonade and it took forever for our drinks to get there. This Red Lobster is the slowest. My family and I decided to come eat dinner here and wish we didn't. It took 10 minutes before we met our waitress. Nobody came to check on us and my brother looked at, whom we assume, was the manager and he sent a waitress. The waitress was slow too. She forgot my drink and it eventually came halfway through my meal. We would ask for condiments and it would take her a good 15 minutes until she would bring the items back. We went for the endless shrimp special on our lunch break and were there for 2 hours! It was so disappointing. We thought coming at opening would help avoid a long wait like the previous week, but it didn't matter. We wouldn't see how waiter for 20-30 minutes each time. I think he might have been cooking, too! It took forever to order, to receive apps, to get drink refills, and anything else. My friend spoke to the manager who tried to help by taking more shrimp orders and boxing them to-to since we had to leave and couldn't waste anymore time. It was interesting that the shrimp with the waiter took so long to come out, but the manager got our new orders to us in 10-15 minutes. I asked if they held plates during endless shrimp to make people run out of time and not order more food. He said they didn't do that, but the actions speak otherwise. I come here with my parents for the promotions RL always seem to have going on- Endless Shrimp or app, entree, and dessert for $15. That being said, I think the food is only ok to slightly above average. I like their clam chowders. Their biscuits are sooo good, but I think I feel my arteries clogging while I'm chomping down (they're just so heavy and dense!). Everything in Endless Shrimp tastes extremely salty to me (enough where I finish my glass of water, and I almost never drink anything with my meals). At around my 4th "order" of shrimp (each order comes with around 5-10 pieces of 30/40 shrimp), I kind of want to die from a salt overdose. RL has that out-of-the-box "chain" taste to me, where the food's not particularly inspired and always. tastes. the. same. Our entrees usually have shrimp that's cooked a tad bit past medium, but it's never that dreaded, overcooked grainy/mushy texture. Service is actually stellar at this particular location- we've almost always had Ben as our waiter and he's been awesome for us, and when we don't, the servers still do well. I would probably give 2 stars at this point, but 3 for the service. TL;DR: come here if you want your prototypical American seafood favorites. Me & the hubby went here for dinner tonight. We made a point of going before 6, as we were thinking it would be crowded, but it wasn't. Our server was great...very friendly and quick to refill hubby's diet coke and my sweet tea. I had the wood-fire scallops, shrimp, and chicken, and hubby had New Orleans style mahi mahi with shrimp and veggies. My scallops were yummy, and you could really taste the smoky flavor in it and the chicken. The shrimp were okay, but nothing special. My hubby enjoyed his mahi mahi. And of course, the biscuits were yummy. We each had our own dessert...I had the chocolate chip lava cookie with ice cream, and hubby had the apple crumble with ice cream. Both desserts were big, and I couldn't finish all of mine. We visited Red Lobster Smyrna, Cobb Parkway yesterday and when the food came we were not impressed. Everything was awful and the presentation was BAD...we had to send the pasta back due to hard pieces and it appeared old. I ordered a side of Fries and they were all brown...the soy and ginger salmon was more of heated up salmon with sort squirted on top..and the shrimp scampi was soooooo salty. We did not sit there and eat at all...instead of creating a fuss we asked our very nice waitress for the check---- Wasted $50 and left. I havent been to Red Lobster in few years however back in the day...we longed for our food to arrive because we knew it would look and taste great! NOT ANY MORE.
