Unbelievably good food every single time! The batter on the fish and chips is perfectly crispy and light, without feeling heavy or greasy. The lumpia are perfectly bite sized and crunchy - definitely a favorite. We also got the whole fish special which was out of this world. The skin was crispy with tender meat inside. It was served with a curry type sauce that paired the flavors perfectly. Recently they started doing a paella and wine night which is such a fun idea and definitely unique in Nashville. Fantastic paella loaded with tons of seafood. All of the seafood is super fresh (and I'm picky about seafood) and has never disappointed. Bonus points for all of the staff and the owners who are super friendly and welcoming. You absolutely will not be disappointed with Red Perch. We keep coming back for more! read more

Any time we hear of a place that specializes in fish and chips we try it out. Unfortunately, this place did not live up to the hype. The food, an order of fried calamari and two orders of fish and chips, was most definitely not worth the $50-plus price tag. For starters, most restaurants serve at least three pieces of fish in a combo, but this place served only two, and they were heavy on breading and light on fish. Also, they were slightly overcooked, rubbery on the ends. The calamari, while served on a tasty bed of aioli, was cooked to the point of crispy rubber. We were very excited about trying the restaurant but left feeling sadly dissatisfied. That said, the homemade tarter sauce was some of the best we've ever had, and the service was friendly and fast. Hands down. The best chicken taco I've had in a very long time. Katsu chicken tacos are to die for. Everything was so fresh. Also had the salmon poke bowl which was absolutely incredible. Red Perch is a fish shop that recently opened on Nashville's West End. The specialty here is fish and chips, offered with cod or the fish of the day. They also have fish tacos and assorted other seafood menu offerings. I would highly recommend the fish and chips. They are crispy, flavorful, and not greasy. We went late in the evening on a weekend and it wasn't crowded at all. You can get your food to go, eat inside, or dine outdoors on their small patio space. Excellent fish and chips, a serving was more than I could eat. The only drawback is we went there when my husband had a broken leg. Let me tell you, finding good seafood in Nashville has been a hard puzzle to solve. Not only did the Red Perch offer yummy seafood, it was affordable, fast, fresh, and filling. My coworkers and I went on our lunch break and it took about 10 minutes to receive our food. We had the cod, perch, calamari, and the daily special, a red snapper. I have to say the calamari is the best you will find in this city. The fish and chips were airy and once you started eating, there was no stopping. I came to eat here after I saw all the 5 star reviews, and I agree that this place is AMAZING. It's kind of in an interesting location that we had to ask someone in another store to get to, but we found it. The inside is very cool, and we didn't have too much trouble finding seats. I ordered the chicken katsu tacos, and I was totally surprised. I never thought katsu chicken tacos that had BBQ sauce and mint, among other things, on it would be good, but it really was. Had the best Cod in our Cod & Chips. The fish was flaky and firm texture, the batter was true Fish And Chips style batter, Light and crispy. Being English I wish the Chips were more authentic, but they were better than average thin light and crispy. The parking for us was a challenge being older. Plenty of it but way in back, and uphill after a great meal. Also plenty of steps to get into the restaurant(second story). A very cozy (small) place, very clean, with a friendly Aussie owner. Having spent time in Seattle and living in San Francisco for more than a decade, I would say I know good fish n chips. So when I was recommended to try this spot on a recent work trip, I had my doubts. Let's just say I was pleasantly surprised. The fish was fresh and had a perfect crunch. This isn't your grandma's microwaved fish stick. Red Perch is incredible and I highly recommend it. They're very customer service oriented (which is v important to me personally) and do a really great job of making eye contact with each customer and have a pick up system by your name. It feels like you are doing business with a close friend. I can't say enough nice things about their food as well as the selection. I went with the 1/4 lb cod fish and chips and it was spectacular. It's not a big place so you see all the guys hustling to feed all the excited customers who have crammed in (legit shoulder to shoulder). Both times I've gone, they've never disappointed. A ten minute wait is a safe bet but the food is more than worth it. So glad they've brought something new and delicious to the Arcade for downtown to enjoy at lunchtime! read more

Wow wow wow ! After mentioning to a friend that I had some great seafood at another restaurant, they highly recommended we check out Red Perch. Had a chance to yesterday and it was phenomenal. The fish and chips are on point! Delicious, non greasy, and made with meaty fillets of fish. We also had the calamari, which when presented didn't look like much, but each bite just got better and better. Tender and flavorful as well as the special, Blue crab chorizo dip.............OMG, unbelievable. They have a decent beer selection and a few cocktails as well. It was pouring down rain around 11 AM and my boyfriend and I took refuge in Red Perch. The atmosphere in there was very nice and endearing, and the two male staff members working were very friendly and had large smiles while we ordered. My boyfriend and I ordered the cod fish and chips and it was the best fried fish I have ever experienced in my life. Looking for something new and went with Yelp recommendation. Glad I did. It's in the Arcade (those familiar with Arcade will remember the Greek place-it's in that location). I had the Fish Gyro yesterday and it was money well spent for this gem of a sandwich. Unbelievably loaded with cabbage, tabbouli, tzatziki and hummus. It was literally bursting with flavor.
