First time visit today for lunch -- good food and great service! Two of us stopped in for lunch. The food was very good. And the service was impeccable. Our server was awesome. The decor was pretty nice too. I tried the Wood Roasted Olives as a starter. They were served warm and they were pretty flavorful. I probably wouldn't order this one again because it had a curry flavor that I wasn't crazy about. Also, all of the seeds were a little irritating. Still, I'm glad I tried it. I had a Spicy Salami Pizza that was pretty darn good. I actually devoured the whole thing myself. The red sauce was a little sweet. But the sweetness (not my fave) was balanced out nicely but the super tangy, spicy, giant salami slices. Nice! My friend had a Caesar Salad, sub steak for anchovies. I tried a bite, again, pretty good. I'd like to try this place for dinner. If it's just as good the second time around, I'll probably bump them up to 5 stars. I had a sausage pizza and it was deliciously crisp with great sausage chunks. My friends got various pasta dishes and we all shared. Everything was fresh and well cooked. The four star is for the breakfast. They offer one of the best brunches in the North Loop. It's not an extensive set of choices, but they are properly sized, well prepared and tasty. With so many "Red" restaurants around these days (Red Rabbit, Red Cow, Red Robbin and Red Lobster come to mind) it may be hard for some to choose. Well, look no further (unless you want a burger, seafood or those amazing cheesy biscuits). I've been to Red Rabbit a couple of times and the food has always been wonderful. This time was no exception. We got the breakfast pizza and Shrimp Garganelli. The Garganelli came with several big pieces of shrimp and perfectly cooked pasta. The sauce was light and flavorful with a little kick. The pizza was equally as good. With a tasty crust and scrumptious toppings. I'm so grateful the people of Red Cow have expanded their expertise to a world of carb-forward cuisine. Red Rabbit is a great place to bring a colleague for lunch, a handsome date for dinner, or really any human that likes Italian food ie every person you know. Since this is a great restaurant, it's usually busy and doesn't technically take reservations, which is why the Yelp No Wait option is a godsend. We simply added ourselves to the Waitlist via the Yelp App on our drive home, and were able to get in and seated at our estimated walk-in time. Once in, we enjoyed a few of their well-crafted "Social Lubricants", which are cocktails of course. We got some grilled olives, and we were impressed with the variety and serving size. The meatballs are excellent and tender, with a little bit of lemon zest to brighten the dish. Our custom pizza of anchovies, marsala mushrooms, and fresh arugula came out hot and with ample toppings. The crust in thin, bubbly, and chewy with a little bit of char = perfect. The service was overall very friendly and efficient... and dang the lighting and tiles are cool! read more

Started with the tartare, our favorite, and it did not disappoint. It was served with a side of potato chips which was a nice twist. For our entrees we ordered the Cavatelli and the Raviolo. The Raviolo was fantastic. It had a nuttiness and richness from the pine nuts and parmesan which was balanced with pickled rhubarb and micro greens- highly recommend! We were excited to try this place out after hearing from friends how much they liked it. We got here at a decent time (5:30) and were able to get a seat fairly quickly. By 6 p.m. there was a long wait, so get there early if you can! Appetizers: -Wood roasted olives: they were good, but nothing over the top. First and foremost: Use the Yelp App to check in and join the waitlist, otherwise the wait could be 2 hour +. I used the Yelp app for my first visit and everything went smoothly. I joined the waitlist when I left the house and by the time I got there it wasn't long until we got seated. I enjoyed Red Rabbit because there was a good mix of food and drinks for everyone. Pasta, salad, pizza, Salmon, chicken etc. The menu isn't overwhelming, just the perfect amount of options. Food: The food is fabulous made with fresh ingredients and served fresh (they cracked the yoke on the pizza when they delivered it to the table). I had the Grain Salad with Salmon, and the Yukon Gold Pizza. The pizza was clearly the standout. The crust was super flaky, almost like a croissant, topped with breakfast themed ingredients. It was drool worthy. The Grain Salad was fresh and very filling. Although I wish there was more Creme Freche than just the bit smeared on the slide of the bowl. Drinks: Great selection of beer, wine, and mixed drinks. Although, I wouldn't get a mixed drink here again. I found mine overly sweet and it didn't seem like it at any alcohol in it. :( Service: Staff was very very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu items. Food was served fast and my glass was always filled with water. But seriously I almost felt like we had a car salesmen for our table. I will order what I want , please don't tell me "should I put in an order of meatballs to start" or "are you ready to order the Toffee Cake". Perfect date night or happy hour spot. I've visited twice, and tried both the pasta and pizza. The Cavatelli pasta is excellent; highly recommend. The only pizza I've tried is the classic cheese because it was on happy hour, and it was super tasty. I'll definitely be back to try more pizzas. I also had a delicious, dessert-like toast with ricotta and honey (also on happy hour!). I tried 2 drinks: a champagne cocktail & classic mojito. Liked both, but preferred the mojito. Aside from the tasty food & drinks, the space itself is gorgeous. I'm a sucker for exposed brick, so this place was right up my alley. The staff was also very kind and attentive. I've been wanting to visit Red Rabbit because of Stephanie March on 107.1's Weekly Dish raves about it. Came here for a date night with my husband. We came early (5:00pm) on a Sunday & didn't make a reservation. We had no trouble getting a booth in the bar area. Perfect timing, because they have happy hour until 6:00pm - so we strapped in and got to ordering right away. Admittedly, we were slightly hung over from St. Patty's Day the night before. Red Rabbit had all the essentials to save us: carb loading options, salt and hair of the dog (booze). So, here's what we tried: Drinks: I got the Rum cocktail that came in a Tiki Glass. It was boozy, perfectly sweet and delicious. My husband went with their Martini. We shared a few different dishes: Apps: Grilled Olives - Per the servers recommendation. These are a great twist on the normally chilled olives you might get somewhere else. They come with herbs and grilled garlic as well. Tasty and a perfect salty dish to share starting off your meal & conversation. Grilled Toasts -We tried the Ricotta, local bare honey, black pepper. This was by far my FAVORITE thing we ate. I'm a sucker for fresh ricotta like this. Melts in your mouth. Bread doesn't cut your gums like some restaurants like to do...it's soft enough to enjoy. Oysters - My husband always gets Oysters, if that's a specialty where we might go. So, he did...which seemed like a strange choice given our hangover factor. He said they were alright - they might have been better than he could admit, given his state and bad choice. Pizza: Spicy Salami Pizza -red sauce, chilies, ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, chili honey -YUM. This was a great pizza to share. Perfect dough consistency...soft yet perfectly crunchy. Pasta Special of the Day - Linguini (house-made) with butter, shallots, parm and mushrooms I think. It was a teeny tiny portion once it was split between us & I was glad we had already eaten the stuff above. Vibe: I guess I'd compare it to the vibe at the Freehouse down the street in the North Loop. It's kind of 'fancy relaxed' if that makes sense. Servers are polished yet casual. No need to really dress up, yet you could and still would totally fit in. Service: Top-notch. Waters refilled often (one of my favorite things!), our server was fun to talk to & checked on us often to make sure we had what we needed. He offered great recommendations and we enjoyed having him at our table. Tip: Go during Happy Hour (DAILY 3-6pm and 10pm to close). You get some great deals & can try more things. They offer $2 bucks off wine, and some beers/cocktails. They also run specials on apps. The portions here are not incredibly large - so I would suggest ordering several items and sharing. Kos and Tello found themselves hangry in Minneapolis after a four hour car ride, during our four state in four days adventure, checking off states we've never been to. Lost in the ole' Minne-Apple, having not done our research, we walked passed strip clubs on strip clubs, curious if we made the wrong the decision or perhaps the right one. Kos was so hungry we nearly ate at a close by divey pub before Kos suggested to look at Red Rabbit. And so begins another four star review. Make no mistake we believe four stars are super worthy, go-to, go-again joints. But five is just so hard to achieve; we hope YELP allows half stars some day soon (and joint accounts). So... back to the oh so needed hanger-fix that was Red Rabbit. New to Minnesota we look for local fare for brews, two Surly Hell Lagers. Do it. Being in a new city we don't want to fill up our tummies too much, always leaving room for that something else that may find our fancy as we walk off previously consumed calories.... so we split: a Hashbrown Waffle, and Mikes Breakfast Tacos (no meat). Our bartender (we sat at the bar) tried to talk us out of the taco order since we deleted the meat he thought we were not getting enough for our 11.95. Generous advance, but being from NYC, double tortilla layered with cheese, eggs, more cheese, avocado, pickled onion, creme fraiche and cilantro a top is street food for $11.95 in NYC so do it. Make the order. As we wait our bartender tells us of other places to explore in the city and we accept. Pacing our sips of Hell Lager, our food comes out quick. The hashbrown waffle was crispy and light, a touch of salt, a touch of butter... we talked about the bounty of options such an item could offer. Simple idea at its core, press and brand some hashbrowns with a waffle iron. What if you dressed it with eggs and cheese? Or provide dipping sauces both sweet and savory? An item so yummy it expands even the novice culinary imagination (Kos). The tacos were great and well worth the money, so we're sure the meat ones are well well worth the money. They provided a salsa on the side that was smoky with a nice medium heat. Our bartender/ tour guide looked at us and asked "do either of you like hot sauce?" My eyes lit up like he was about to offer me a home made remedy for health, happiness and the American way. He pulled out some Tabasco and Cholula... we can't hate, at least there was Cholula. Can't say what the food is like outside of brunch, but if lost in Minneapolis' North Loop... give it a shot. Glad we did. read more

Awesome. I came in alone after work because I was hungry for some quality pasta, and am very satisfied. I got the Cavatelli and it was just so good. I've been here before and had the pizza, which is also really good, so I think the biggest problem you'll have at Red Rabbit is choosing between so many delicious possibilities. I also got a happy-hour-priced bowl of olives, which tasted great, although they're served warm and I realized that I don't particularly like warm olives. If I didn't have something else to nibble on, my pasta dish wouldn't have been enough. But it's a good portion size for almost everyone. Service was great, very fast.
