Meat was overcooked, most of the cheese peeled off in the wrapping, the "sesame" bun had seeds on maybe 20% of the surface and it fell apart half way thru. The Turkey burger was a disappointment, but the waffle fries were a bright spot. I would have probably given the review at least 3 stars if they didn't falsely advertise themselves so terribly. Any way you want them. Single, Double, Triple. 5ozs for the legendary & 8 ozs for the ultimate of which will come with free fries during certain times of the day. I'm a fan of their onions rings which are super crispy. Also, not to be missed are their shakes. Vanilla, Strawberry & Chocolate and it's hard to pass up a root beer float. How can you pass this place up? We always stop by when going to our summer house in Stevensville. They got some good burgers (not as fantastic as everybody makes them out to be, but still tasty) and Red's Chips which are chips covered in cheese and bacon! The combo of the burger and the chips makes the meal the best! The prices are also pretty good, but they only take cash and only open seasonally. When visiting family in New Buffalo, MI, Redamak's has become a traditional food stop for years! The family that lives in town is plain sick of this place, so when I ask some cousins to join me they usually reply *sigh* "Okay..." As a kid, I remember thoroughly enjoying this place for their chili cheese fries and burgers. Now, as a young adult, I STILL enjoy the chili cheese fries and burgers. There are some other (fried) foods I've tried on their menu, but it's about as fast and casual as you can get. I've heard the fish is pretty good, but I shy away from anything with gills that comes from the lake/ocean. I'd say Redamak's could benefit from; 1) An improved and expanded beer list 2) Make more of the food from scratch, as I think there's a good chance most of it is frozen If you're not a local, it's still a good place to grab a quick bite to eat. =) read more

Other than that, it was all pretty mediocre. I was interested in their house made black bean burger from their menu, but just kidding. It's Morningstar. I got perch tacos. Great burgers especially after a late night out. Can pick up to avoid long lines for tables. Large menu with many options other than the famous burger. Very family friendly with adult beverage. I have been coming to this place my whole life, as I grew up taking summers in Grand Beach, just a few miles away from here. I remember this place being always crowded, and I even saw Gene Siskel there once, that had to be in like '86 or '87! Awesome, unhealthy, and totally satisfying fast food. Go for the cheeseburger, and let me tell you I hate velveeta, but somehow they make sense of it. Living on a legacy is the best way to describe. Was really looking forward to it based the amount advertisements around town. Food is just average. Ordered two baskets of fries and the kitchen messed up and gave a small side of fries on only two of the four burgers. Not enough for the four of us. Still charged for the full price of the baskets -- $7. Also, when we got our bill we were surprised to find we'd been overcharged for an extra cheeseburger and basket of sweet potato fries. Tonight they wouldn't allow us to place a carryout order even though they were still seating new diners. It was a solid hour before they closed. They also have a carryout fee now. I believe that this place has at least 2 major strikes against it. The first being that their "Legendary Burgers" aren't that legendary since you can only get them Med Well Done. That's fine if you like to eat a hockey puck. My burger was so dried out. If you get one of their pucks, you better put plenty of toppings on it to hid the burger. I don't understand the hype about this place honestly. They seem to be doing a great job regarding COVID, with not allowing anyone to wait indoors and providing long range devices to alert you when your table is ready. Everyone was wearing a mask and they had plenty of spacing between tables. Bathroom seemed clean. But the food was just average. The chili cheese fries were mediocre at best, they reminded me of something you would get at a concession stand at a little league baseball field. The cheese curds were an extremely small portion for the price, and the burgers were just meh. My little one's chicken nuggets were pretty gross. We definitely won't be back. read more

We went here against the advice of locals because a member of our group was sure there was something magical to be had. We had the jalapeno cheddar bites and they were good with a pleasant spice. I had a double Velveeta burger and it was fine. It was large and had a nice amount of cheese. I shared the sloppy waffles fries as a side and they were definitely disappointing, especially for the price. They were covered in a pretty tasteless cheese sauce and bland sloppy joe mix. Overall the taste of the food was ok but nothing special. It certainly wasn't worth the wait for the table. Our server was incredibly nice but the service was very slow (I think it was the kitchen, not her). Like other diners, I don't like that all the serveware was plastic. That seems incredibly wasteful. And yes, they truly only accept cash. Overall, now I can say I've eaten at Redamak's. This is a two part review. The first part addresses the awful food. Dry hamburgers and frozen, barely cooked french fries that were mealy and flavorless. There wasn't even a hint of salt or seasoning. I'd comment on the quality of the toppings (cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles) but there weren't any on either burger. Although we ordered them, when we got back to where we were staying, the burgers were plain. The second part of the review is in regards to their absurd return policy (actually it's a credit policy). We were told by a manager on duty that they do not have the resources to give us the cash back that we paid for the "food". When we asked, "how do you not have the resources for a cash refund, when you only take cash and check"? Even if every patron that evening paid with a check, they'd still have our $20 on hand. They offered us credit and credit only. Why in the world would I want credit for another subpar meal? As a restaurant that has been in business for 45 years (as the recording says when you call), it is beyond ridiculous to not have a refund policy in place. I understand that their general policy is credit only, but how is that helpful to a patron who is either just passing through town or disgusted by the food? To be so close minded and inflexible when it comes to correcting mistakes, it makes me wonder how they've lasted 45 days, let alone 45 years? I understand that this is a trying time for restaurants, but food and policies like this have no place in a credible restaurant. With all this being said, I'd like the owner or GM of this establishment to contact me and do the right thing. read more

Beautiful Restaurant, didn't take long to get into our seats after waiting. Everything is so beautiful about this place, I enjoy any place that has a rich history and that's what I really enjoyed about this establishment. Really cool designed menus in my opinion, better than scrolling though pages going "ughhhhhhhh......." while you're waitress asks for your order. The food did take longer to come out than expected but no big deal. Everything is well priced, can't complain with that.Staff is really friendly and sweet. My husband and myself decided we would take a long bike ride to visit and finally try the famed burger in new buffalo. After an hour drive on the heat on a motorcycle, I was very surprised to enter such a hot building, none the less we ordered. Service was mediocre nothing special, decor was nostalgic and eye catching We ordered the fried green beans,great starter. It got a little down hill once we received the burgers we went for. Mine was dry and a non existence taste, something we could have quite frankly cooked at home. Over all nothing to write home about, and less likely to make the drive again. read more

This place is a burger joint. That is what they do REALLY well. Other stuff is simply on the menu to appease those that go along, and aren't in the burger mood. Case in point... we decided to go there for dinner. My wife and son wanted a good cheeseburger. I decided to go for something a bit lighter. I ordered a Tavern Salad, and paid extra for the "freshly grilled chicken". While placing the order I specifically asked our waitress..."please be honest with me, is the chicken really grilled or is it just microwaved?" She replied, "no sir, everything we do here is fresh. I am certain they grill it for all our salads!" When our dinner was served, a wonderful Tavern Salad came out with ICE COLD CHICKEN, with FAKE GRILL MARKS!!! When I showed this to the waitress, she was dumbfounded. "Oh my, I'll run this past the manager. I'll also post this on our board for the other servers!" She then sent the chicken back and they microwaved it!!! Now wait a minute...Redamaks, we aren't that dumb. By the mere fact that the Manager never came over to address this issue makes it plain that this is how ALL chicken is served on salads. So, a piece of advice...update your menu (and your staff) so that everybody understands what is being served! Please don't try to pass off cold GFS chicken (with fake grill marks) as grilled!!! When the bill came, our server made a big production of saying, "we thought it was fair to comp the chicken part of your salad. Have a great evening!" I would rather that Redamaks and then the server when asked on the front end said, "the chicken has been made earlier in the day, and we keep it in the fridge." It is not freshly grilled. We went on the second to last day they were open and i was really impressed they weren't out of anything and served us very quickly when we were seated. There is usually a really long wait to even get a table, but we were sat immediately. The food is a great value and you really get full. I enjoyed the cheeseburger and some sweet potato fries. The cheeseburger was super thin and there was a lot of melty cheddar cheese on it. They served the sweet potato fries with a honey dipping sauce, which was great, I love when restaurants give you something sweet to dip the fries in becasue lets face it, ketchup is BORING. I will definitely be looking forward to next season when they are open again! read more
