Iconic New Buffalo restaurant, been around for as long as I can remember. I first went back in 2010 with my family, and then again in 2020 with some friends. I got one of their famous burgers the first time, and to try something different, I got their new chicken quesadillas this time. Pretty good, you got quite a lot of food with the dish. And I got a Round Barn Kolsch, their beer list was not bad actually, I assume that's a recent addition with the craft beer popularity growing. If you're in town you should at least try it once, only potential problem would be if it's too crowded, which could happen during peak hours, or if your group is big. Your bound to see plenty of billboards advertising here on I-94, so it'll be easy to find. read more

Really great food! We took a trip to a park for my graduation and my class popped in on our way home. I wasn't to exited to go here because honestly it looks a little run down from the outside. We called ahead to ask about wait time and was told 15-20 minutes. But when we arrived, we were told 30 minutes to an hour. But we were seated in about 20 minutes. The restaurant only accepts cash and has an ATM there that you can use for a fee. The food took a while, about 30-40 minutes to arrive. The ones in my group who ordered burgers thought the burger meat itself was quite bland (I have never felt the need to salt a burger before, but felt I needed to add salt to this one- I got the burger with garlic). Also, any order than comes with fries cannot have the side substituted, not even for an upcharge. The waitress was very nice and helpful, though. IDK who needs to hear this, but temper ya damn expectations when it comes to the food, so then you won't be all in your feelings over your disappointment. Redamak's seems to have as many haters as it does fans. Having no prior sentimental attachment, I can see both sides. If you're expecting paradigm shifting food, that's on you for expecting the most. The girl has been wanting to come here, but we still asked Michigan people their opinions, and the consensus was that people were largely indifferent, at best. So I can only surmise that since this joint has been around forever, it's mostly revered by people with fond childhood memories. That's all well and good. I have my version of that in the northwest 'burbs of Chicago (shoutout Russell's Barbecue). The food hit the spot, but to deem it anything other than average, or slightly above, would be a reach. I enjoyed my double Valveeta burger. I've had juicer, & certainly had blander. I was annoyed you have to order fries separate. The Charlie's combo was good, but nothing unique. Probably the best thing I had were the bone-in wings. Again, nothing stands out from other places wings, but pretty damn tasty. Service was good. Coke and water never went empty. Every time we travel to New Buffalo a trip to Redamaks is in order. There are often lines but if you are a smaller group then the wait time will most likely be shorter than they quote you. I have yet to order any main but a burger bit the burgers are quite good. The place does work quick so they can turn their tables over but you do not feel too rushed. They do not take temperatures on your burger and they all are cooked to about medium/midwell. I have no issue with this bit be aware. They have great milkshakes like the Chocolate monkey (chocolate and banana) and the fun cocktails are inexpensive. Check the wine menu and draft beer list for local items such as from Round Barn and help support a local business instead of going with a macrobrew. But the absolute must order is the sloppy waffle fries! Waffles fries with sloppy Joe and cheese will make you keep returning here! read more

Now, I must start this review off by saying that I love redamacks and always go out of my way to visit here. However, this trip was particularly odd For starters, my sister ordered a GF bun along with my dad. My dads came out and was clearly GF and marked differently. My sisters was not the same and our server tried to tell us they were both gluten free and it was fine. - it was not and the burger was remade. Second, the server did not bring our drink order out until after our food (alcohol beverage, we did have water). When asked if it was coming she had completely forgotten. I know things get busy but we were ready to leave and she was already gone before we could ask to cancel it. Lastly, we paid in cash (only thing they accept) and were supposed to get $49 and some change back. She brought back $36. We were very confused and when we called her back she had no idea why the mistake was made. She seemed like she was in a hurry overall and too preoccupied with other things to focus on our table Again, overall I love redamacks and the food but everything else this trip kinda overshadowed the great experience. I always get a double velveeta with everything and a side of fries. Their frozen drinks are so good. I enjoy the tenders and other sides as well but since I'm not in town often I always get the velveeta cheeseburger. My husband loves the turkey burgers too and says it's the best he's ever had. I've been coming here for over 20 years and will never skip it when I'm in town unless it's their off season and they're closed. Three stars was generous. We had two burgers with fries and mozzarella sticks. The sticks were great, as we're the fries. We had high expectations since there were great reviews online. Not sure if they just had a bad day however the burgers were both beyond dry unfortunately. We waited 30 minutes on a bust Saturday to get take out and ate it right in the parking lot right away. To make make a fuss and since we were short on time, we simply ate the burgers. They were barely edible. I grew up going to Redamak's. My parents tell stories of my brother and I begging quarters from random other tables when we ran out of change to play video games after the meal was over, while the adults enjoyed a pitcher of beer. It was my ace-in-the-hole date when I was in high school to drive 40 minutes to get here and then walk out on the New Buffalo pier. So don't mind me if my review has a hint of "get off my lawn" nostalgia. The burgers have always been the burger by which I judge every other place - juicy, meaty, with delicious fake processed cheese product melted on top and a hearty slice of raw onion. While they feel a bit thinner than they used to and the buns have changed for the worse, the burgers are still fantastic. The fried appetizer sampler used to be naughty exciting differentiator between this and other burger spots - I find the mushrooms to be lacking and the french fries to be soggy and soft rather than crispy. Still yummy, but not what I remember. We ordered milkshakes (one cheesecake and one chocolate)and they were excellent. I feel like the place used to be an arcade in addition to a restaurant - they've consolidated two game rooms down to one and the remaining one feels a bit lame. Although the burgers are listed at just over 5 ounces, they seemed larger! The down side was they were all cooked medium well, which i actually prefer usually, but not as much this time. Been here a few times over the years, usually after spending time in the Dunes. I'll be thr first to say that this place is pretty good, but it doesn't live up to the hype and expectations. If you're traveling through during the winter, this place is shut down. When we arrived, the parking lot was packed. A good sign. There's a ton of seating. It's casual dining for sure. The walls are paneled with wood. There's no discernible decorating scheme. Anything and everything is slapped on the walls. Here's what we ordered... * Onion Rings ($6) - Nothing special and an absurdly small portion for that much money. * Curly Fries ($4.25) - They were supposed to have been seasoned, but they were pretty bland. Tasted like they were just frozen Ore-Ida variety. * Cheeseburger with provolone ($5.75) - This was the best thing I tasted at Redamak's. Nothing amazing, to be sure, but pretty good. They don't ask you how you want your burger cooked, they just fire it up and cook it to eliminate any pink. They also put an entire cross-section of an onion on your bottom bun. That was interesting. * Six Boneless Chicken Wings ($6.50) - Pathetic and sad. These were dry little nuggets. Definitely not worth more than $1 each. Total ripoff. * An Oreo Blast ($3.75) - This is their version of the Dairy Queen Blizzard, except Redamak's ice cream was really soupy and watery to begin with. They do get points for having the Oreo pieces still be crunchy, though. If you want a frosty treat in this area, drive a little south to Oink's Dutch Treat. You'll be happier. I feel like the only reason Redamak's exists is because there's a vacuum for this kind of family dining in the New Buffalo area. The food isn't special and the sides are wildly overpriced. The menu is huge, which may be a plus for picky eaters. But as you'd learn from any episode of Restaurant Impossible or Kitchen Nightmares, a giant menu is also a sign that there's very little care put into any one dish. Younger kids are snobby when you ask for assistance, they also give you looks like their shit doesn't stink and are always gathered around chatting when people come in.(seen it plenty of times) Burgers are on the dry side with hardly no flavor. It's located just over the Indiana/Michigan Border on Lake Michigan itself. Just like any beach community, there's not much going on in the winter; however, once the summer hits, look out! Ah, Redamak's. I've been coming here since I was a toddler, and I don't think it's changed at all since. Sometimes, that's a good thing. I came here with my dad as we did a border-run to Michigan most recently, and it was a nice burst of nostalgia. My dad got a double velveeta cheeseburger with fries ($6.75). He said it was just as good as he remembered. I got a buffalo bacon burger with cheese that they had on special, and it was delicious. I also got an order of fried pickles, which were delicious as always ($5.50). Redamak's is a greasy spoon that does one thing really, really well, and that is their burgers. Everything else you can expect to be fried and not house made most of the time. If you don't mind that (and I usually don't- it's still freaking good!), then this is right up your alley. They also have cheesecake milkshakes that are really good. The service was really bad last time I was here though. The waitress seemed to forget that we existed, and it took FOREVER for her to come back with a box, and then another 20 minute wait or so for us to get the bill.
