This place is incredibly disappointing. The staff members were extremely rude, and my tacos were soooo greasy. One of the tacos was supposed to be potato with rajas, but it was literally just potato with a tiny speck of rajas. They could have added a piece of parsley to make it look like it was potato with rajas. I went to try this place out, but it was not what I expected. BEST TACOS IN SAN ANTONIO!! My friend and I were on this side of town and starving, so we decided to share the 4 al pastor tacos! Best decision we have ever made. The chicken was seasoned perfectly The slaw was a surprised but an amazing one. The tortillas was everything you wanted it to be. I would drive a long while to get some of these tacos thank you so much for serving us!! We also got a bean and cheese taco and again it was amazing except for the cheese they used. Ok they're good. Greasy, spicy and filling. I was only able to eat 5. I tried the desherbada, that was my favorite. Followed by the picadillo and the papa/chorizo, both good. I didn't care for the mole (too sweet, reminded me of cochinita), and I also had a quesadilla (that one came on flour tortilla. The green salsa is very spicy. Use with caution. They are a bit pricey, you don't get to choose your taco flavors if you buy the combos so I opted to purchase individually. This taco place was ok. The tacos are too greasy for my taste. I think I was a bit confused thinking that because they were cooked "vapor" style they would be healthier. Salsa was delicious. The tacos are small so if you are hungry order about five or six. We got the potatoes and chorizo. Will probably not go back. They have a drive through and plenty of parking if you want to stop and eat in your car. read more

BEST TACOS EVER! They're steamed so if they're very soft, some complain they're soggy, but I mean that's how they're supposed to. It's like steamed dumplings but tacos! Well the food was good, they close at 8 PM i arrived at 7:20. I was only able to try the taco the girls there were too lazy to cook anything else up because they cleaned the grill already. I absolutely hate businesses that so this, if your hours are until 8PM dont minimize your menu 30 mins prior. For that reason i will not be returning. read more

Those tacos are So good! This is the 2nd time I've been to get the tacos here. The 1st time was yesterday! I had to go back and get some for my friends... I walked into this place and was surprised how busy it was for a small place. The lady the window was so very friendly and kind. I was happy she spoke English to me. (Not required of course). I just did not speak Spanish. She clearly explained to me how the menu worked and I made my order. It was very smooth. There is a drive through too. That also was busy. It's my first time trying the food. And I am very impressed with how good it is. If you get a chance, do yourself a favor and go here and try the 5 oack of tacos. You can't go wrong. Went to this taco place during my lunch hour. We work downtown so it was a bit of a drive. The place is extremely small; however, that was not an issue. I ordered the taco mix and came with a soda for $5.99 I think, and I ordered 2 more desherbada tacos. My friend ordered the 4 tacos (2 pastor and 2 bistec). The servings are very generous and they lay the tortillas on top to keep them warm and allow you the option of filling it however you want. I also appreciate the fact that they provide the cilantro and onions on the side so you can add them on your own. Wow. What a place. Haven't had Tacos Al Vapor since I moved from El Paso and Cuidad Juarez. Ordered the Combo #1 which come with 5 tacos and I had to order 3 more. Spent the whole day driving through the South and Westside tryna find a place that looked appetizing and this place popped up on yelp only a few blocks away. Don't be intimidated by the size or location. This is a hidden gem and the staff were welcoming and wonderful. 10$ for 8 good size tacos Al Vapor and a coke. These tacos definitely tasted like back home and had me reminiscing about my hometown. The salsas (Green Serrano) and (Red Habanero) were f****** awesome!! Good spice and flavor ratio that added to the great flavors the tacos already had and I even put some on the Mexican slaw that comes with the tacos. Hidden gem and I'm forsure coming back and bringing people with me. And also they scored an A/99 on their health inspection in January 2019 that they proudly display next to their menu. read more
