This was my first time visiting this restaurant and I won't be back. My husband and I were planning to eat there, but the dining room was in such disarray (Stuff all over the table in front, takeout containers piled along the window, someone's jacket thrown on the floor) when we walked in that we decided to order take out instead. It only took about 20 minutes, but the food was cold after our 10 minute drive home, which means it must have been luke warm when it was served. I had an amazing experience with the customer service! Since it's Ramadan, the staff were incredibly kind and understanding (very Muslim friendly) They even went out of their way to accommodate us by preparing our food later so it would be warm and ready for us to break our fast. We went for lunch today and the food was ok, though we would suggest not seasoning the fries for the kids meal, as our kids basically immediately rejected them due to the 'little black spots' (pepper). Our issue was a more basic one, we were never asked if we wanted anything to drink and were not served water. We did manage to get three cups (for a party of 7), an after asking three times, but it took about 10 minutes to come. Decided to try Rehana for date night after seeing the recent rave reviews and now I'm posting my own rave review! The staff is friendly, the space is clean, and the food is DELICIOUS! We were treated to a dessert sample upon sitting down. We ended taking a dessert home, so the sample was a nice way to start the meal without forgetting about the dessert options. I was walking down the street hungry last night and an amazing smell was wafting out of this building. One of the proprietors invited us in to this new restaurant, gave us menus and stayed available in case of any questions. I got the chicken shawarma and my friend got the hummus appetizer. Both were so so good. One of the owners noticed me coughing and a water bottle magically appeared at my table. Then a complimentary dessert -- which was also delicious! We had a wonderful meal and would highly recommend Rehana. We had the mezzah plate and the beef koba for appetizers. (They were both delicious). We ordered the beef kabob, the chicken swarma saj, the shrimp kabob and a burger for the kid. My favorite of these was the beef kabob. One of the owners brought us the Egyptian Mousaka for free (to try) and it was also amazingly tasty. The owner sent us on our way out with a cheesecake and baklava (complementary with a happy new year wish). I have never posted on yelp until now because my partner and I have some strong opinions about the so-called "service" at this restaurant. Despite being the only two people in the restaurant, it took us 20 minutes to get a waitress to tend to our table. Then the order came back that looked stunning at first, but my partner pulled a long black hair out of the dish in front of the waitress while it was still in her hand. Then she said she would "get us a new one" only to be the same plate but slightly rearranged only 45 seconds later. Trying to save the lunchtime, I ate around my obviously contaminated part of the plate. Only to look over and see my partner's chicken had little white hairs cooked into it that I could see from the other side of the table. We then got up, paid (full price, no compensation at all), and just left. I don't normally leave reviews at all, but people need to understand that with this being a HALAL restaurant, that it needs to follow certain hygiene standards that are not being practiced. read more
