Worst service department ever. Had a few warranty related cosmetic issues with my camaro. This dealer is close to my home so I tried to take my vehicle here to get the work done. Upon arrival, I was told that I would not be allowed to make an appointment for a service tech to look over the issues. I would have to drop the car off and leave it there for 4 days until a tech could look at it. (Keep in mind, the car functions fine, these are cosmetic issues.) Then I could pick up my car while the parts were on order, but would have to drop it off again for 3+ days while the techs worked on their backlog. Needless to say I was really surprised by their attitude. I even asked to speak to the service manager, and he echoed everything the service writer told me. There is no way to make an appointment. The car must be left with them both for getting evaluated and getting the replacement parts installed. The manager's attitude certainly made it seem like they didn't care if I brought my car to them or not. I was utterly floored. If I was forced to deal with Reliable Chevrolet in Richardson as my only option for service, I would never purchase another GM product again. I'm so disappointed with my experience with Reliable Chevrolet today. I'd gone in, after several weeks of research online and reading reviews in all the magazines, to get some firsthand information on the CMY Corvette. The salesperson who spoke with me was pleasant enough, but not incredibly knowledgeable about the new Corvette, its specs or its options. So I'd asked to possibly take one out for a test drive. He took a copy of my driver's license and when he returned, informed me that a test drive wasn't possible. Of course, I was confused as I've test driven cars before - cars 2, even 3 times more expensive than a Corvette - so it didn't make sense to me, and his explanation was even more ridiculous. "Corvette buyers don't want to purchase a car that is too far off from zero miles, so we don't test drive them". I asked in response "so, this dealership doesn't even have ONE DEMO CAR that can be sold as a pre-driven car later?" "No, I'm sorry - can I take you to the pre-owned lot to see if there is a Corvette there?" NO THANK YOU! I got back into my Mercedes-Benz that I TEST DROVE and wrote a check for the same day back in 2012 and drove off vowing to never waste my time researching other brands that aren't luxury brands, specifically German luxury brands. Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Audi have let me test drive pretty much any car they offer without any hesitation. Reliable Chevrolet is a run down, outdated dealership anyway, and the fact that they're being tight on a CHEVROLET anything is laughable and the biggest oxymoron if ever I've heard one. I agreed with Reliable Chevrolet to purchase a Silverado 1500. The salesman, William, and I had agreed to the price via text message. I went to the dealership the next day to pick up the truck. When I arrived, William told me that there had been a mistake and the truck would be $1,000 more than what we had agreed to. He apologized for not calling me earlier in the day to tell me about it. I refused to pay the extra $1,000 and left. At best, this price switch is a very poor business practice and at worst it is dishonest. I'm not sure which, but either way they wasted a lot of my time. I highly recommend avoiding this dealership. After I posted this review, I received a call (voice mail) from the sales GM as well as a text from the saleman offering the truck for the original price we agreed to. Since I no longer trust them, I won't do business with this dealership, but at least management got involved and tried to do something. read more

Reliable? More like reliably steals your money. Sold me a new car, then when I went back to get some bodywork done a few years later they told me my car has "misting white syndrome". The black of my car wasn't actually quite black. It's like a really dark brown burgundy color. You can't really tell unless it's next to true black. They did do extra work, blending the paint so that there wasn't a stark contrast between the blacks. But what really bugs me is that they lied to me about what was wrong with my car. They told me it happens with GM cars sometimes, that it was a kind of factory defect. Very common with 'vettes, but unheard of in Trailblazers (my car). I've searched the whole internet for the term "misting white syndrome", and from what I've been told I must have been sold a re-paint. Not cool. I would not trust these people with anything, and wholly suggest taking your business elsewhere. read more

With respect and the understanding that I'm not a perfect person, I submit the following review. Used Car Department The company went back on their agreement. They shook hands, looked me in the eye, said we had a deal, and then they sold the car to someone else. Here are some facts: I was denied the opportunity to complete a test drive of a vehicle. I was told we couldn't go anywhere that we could drive 70-75mph due to traffic or distance. (This is important in test driving a car.). I asked several times and even agreed to wait for traffic. The salesperson and I reached an agreed up-on price and shook hands. In his own words, "You drive a hard bargain, but we have a deal." I said that I wanted the car and would wait until traffic cleared to drive it faster and for the salesperson to finish the paper work. I left and I waited until late in the evening so that I could drive it faster on an decongested freeway. I said I had a man coming to pick me up so that I could drive the car home. I asked if we could pay and get squared and I would finish up, but I was asked to come back the next day when the traffic was clear. I was not offered an opportunity to make a deposit to hold the car. They sold the car for a higher price 18 hours later. This company did not stand beside their word in this case. The people I worked with were not unkind in word, but were in this deed. It was disrespectful. Not to be unfair, but I wonder if their integrity was worth the small amount more of money they got on the car from the next buyer. read more

Came in for a repair this morning after calling ahead. Arrived at 9:30 am met with a random service writer who checked us in and asked if we would be waiting for the car which we both said yes. 3 hours later we find out that they didn't even know we were here and thought it was left for overnight. Once we corrected them they got the car in only to tell us it would be over $400 for a battery and cable. This place has been a comical carnival of stupidity. After years of business repairing and buying many cars from here we will never return again. The incompetence and poor service experienced at Reliable Chevrolet today is beyond ridiculous. read more

My daughter purchased a brand new vehicle from Reliable. With UNDER 6,000 miles the check engine light came on. "Scheduled" a repair appointment for 10:30 on Monday. Consumer beware, do not bring your vehicle here for any used automobile repair not even an oil change. If I can give 0 stars I definitively would. Long story short I mistakenly brought two of my autos here for service and was shafted both times. The GM and service/shop manager should be fired, they are dishonest and their so-called tech did not thoroughly inspect my vehicle. I took my vehicle in due to oil, transmission and steering fluid leaks while still under extended warranty and the leak was still present days after the so-called repair. I take the vehicle back and guess what the extended warranty expired.... they said the dealership tech said everything checked out and there is nothing they can do...I am now left to pay out of pocket because of their incompetency and lack of proper inspection knowledge. I talk to the service advisor and he said the Dealership's GM and their shop wouldn't cover the repair....an issue I originally took the auto in for.....thanks guys now I am left to pay $1,200.00 for something you won't own up to. I don't know how you guys sleep at night knowing you treat paying customers unfairly. Their name should definitely be changed to Unreliable Chevrolet. PS. On July 17, 2021, I purchased a 2015 Genesis 5.0 from this place. Seven weeks after purchasing and closing the deal, transmission locked. Contacted salesperson TJ. Promised callback. No callback. Finally, an incompetent so-called General Sales Manager, Derrick called me back. Explained to him what vehicle was doing. He thought it was hilarious. He talked like he was doing me a favor and very snotty. Gave me the alternative that "You can let me help you or continue on your journey." Those words sound like we live in the Slavery Days and I cursed him out and went about my journey. For those of you who are unaware, there are a lot of avenues you can pursue and I will list them here. 1. Contact the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles ( Used Vehicle Commission) 2. If the vehicle was financed, contact the lender and request a Fraud invesitigation 3. Contact the vehicle manufacturer and get the issue assigned to a Case Manager. After all, it was manufactured by a Company. For an automobile not to throw a diagnostic engine code, it has definitely been tampered with. That is a flagrant violation of the Clean Air Act. Here is the information on the Clean Air Act which applies to all vehicles no matter who they are in the United States. Clean Air Act Vehicle and Engine Enforcement Case Resolutions Over half the pollutants in America's air come from "mobile sources" of air pollution. These mobile sources include cars, trucks, buses, motorcycles, recreational vehicles, scooters, off road construction equipment, marine engines, generators, and small engines and equipment. Mobile source pollutants include smog-forming volatile organic compounds and nitrogen oxides, various toxic air pollutants such as cancer-causing benzene, carbon monoxide, particulate matter or soot, and greenhouse gases. In addition to adverse effects on the environment, these pollutants are responsible for asthma, heart disease and other illnesses. The Clean Air Act requires new engines and equipment sold or distributed in the United States to be certified to meet EPA-established emissions requirements to protect public health and the environment from air pollution. The Act and its implementing regulations also contain various requirements concerning testing, reporting, recordkeeping, warranty, labeling, tampering, defeat devices, and vehicle and engine maintenance and alterations. When we got there two people asked us if we needed help, we told them that we had an appointment to see a sales person, whom I spoke to on the phone the day before. Neither of the people came back to us and my wife and I were left standing in the showroom. We went out and walked around thinking someone would help us, NOPE. This failure ultimately contributed to the cost of replacing the bad shock absorber going from $26 (one shock absorber) to $1358. On September 26, 2016, two new rear shock absorbers were purchased from Pep Boys #726 in Dallas, TX. On October 1st, the two shock absorbers were taken to Pep Boys #704 in Plano, TX for installation on a 2009 Pontiac G6 that was purchased in August, 2016. After the shock absorbers were installed, the service department was notified that a chirp/squeak sound was coming from the rear of the car. The service person acknowledged the chirp/squeak sound. The driver side rear shock absorber was reinstalled and the car was driven again. The chirp/squeak remained, and the service person stated that it was probably the shock mounts. It was never acknowledged that the shock absorber could have been the problem and an offer to replace the shock absorber was never made. After purchasing two new Moog shock mounts ($50 purchase not included in the $1358 amount), the mounts were taken to Pep Boys #704 in Plano for installation on 10/9/2016. After installing the two mounts ($76), the chirp/squeak sound remained. Again, not acknowledgement of the possible failure of the shock absorber was made. The person at the service counter who closed out the service ticket stated it 'could be a front wheel'. On October 15, 2016, the vehicle was taken to Reliable Chevrolet for an opinion on the cause of the chirp/squeak. The attached documentation shows the possible culprits the Reliable Chevrolet service person believed to be the cause (trailing arm, upper control arm, lower control arm, and stabilizer bar link). The shock absorber was NEVER mentioned as a cause verbally or in the list of causes. $50 was paid for this ultimately incorrect diagnosis. On October 15, 2016, the above parts, plus a lateral arm for good measure, were purchased online ($180). On October 22, 2016, the rear trailing arm was installed ($146). The chirp/squeak sound remained. As with all other service visits, the sound was mentioned as the reason for the part replacement, and the shock absorber was not mentioned as a possible cause. On October 29, 2016, due to the high cost quoted for replacing the remaining parts, an attempt to replace them by the owner resulted in the additional cost of the use of a service bay ($113 not included in $1358) and the damage to a bolt in the rear knuckle after the tow link bar (lateral arm) was replaced. Despite replacing the tow link bar, the chirp/squeak sound remained. On October 30, 2016, the vehicle was taken to Pep Boys #704 where the diagnosis was the need to replace the knuckle in order to fix the bolt problem. On November 5, 2016, the vehicle was returned to Pep Boys #704 for the replacement of the rear driver side knuckle ($295 for the part) and installation of the remaining suspension components ($551 in labor and taxes). The chirp/squeak sound remained and, again, after pointing out that temperature changes appear to affect the sound, no acknowledgement of the shock absorber being the cause was made. On November 6, 2016, a new shock absorber was purchased at the Pep Boys #703 in Garland, TX, and installed. The chirp/squeak sound was now gone. No one at Pep Boys or at Reliable Chevrolet could make the correct diagnosis of the problem, even after multiple visits. I, the vehicle owner, untrained in ANY mechanical processes, had to make the deduction that the sound came with the installation of the shock and might go away with the replacement of the shock. Either through incompetence or deliberate intention to extract more money from me, both organizations completely failed simple customer service practices. read more

Had nothing to do with COVID. Came to an agreement on price and Dow payment. When I got a call from the financial institution it said my payoff is 16000 and should have been 10k. Turns out when I explicitly said I want the free 5k 10k mile warranty they added a 6k platinum warranty. Then when I called I got a response from the salesman I don't have anything to do with finance. They never sent me my copies of the paperwork (wonder why). I had to call and cancel all the additional warranties these employees were adding on for additional commission. Plus I had to call 10 times to see if my plates and registration was in. Got there 2 days before my paper plates expired. Go someone that operates with integrity and puts the customer first. They are lucky to have 2 stars. GM's build quality, as always, could use some help, but when you take a 10 year old Saturn in for something GM has offered an extended warranty on (which likely doesn't pay nearly what it should), and get treated like you just bought a brand new Corvette, the dealer is very focused on customer service. I've never given them a penny, but they treated me like I owned the place. I'm impressed enough that my next car will be coming from them. read more

Every aspect of this dealership is horrendous. Bought our 2018 company vehicle here and haven't had a smooth experience or encounter ever. I recently took car to their body shop for insurance covered body repairs. Big mistake. I received the vehicle back and shortly after the window of repaired door wouldn't go up. They said it was a coincidence. Specifically Nicole and the manager Richard Johnson couldn't have been more unhelpful. Everything has an excuse and there was no accountability or customer service whatsoever. They refuse to stand by their work and will not correct their issue. They had my truck over a week and not only were they not able to fix it but they made it worse and still ended up charging me 2 hours of labor! I had to get it towed to another dealership which they taken care of it in two days! I think it's crazy how they recommended me to but a new head which was quoted at $3600 because they new what they had did to it! Seemed to me that it was an easier way out of the problem! Service Department Made an appointment with the service department for scheduled service (rotate tires, change oil, etc.) for Friday, 10 AM. I arrived early for my appointment, was told the car would be ready shortly after lunch. Took their shuttle home, expecting to take it back. I called at 3 PM, the car was not ready. I called at 6:45, still not ready. They called at 11:45 AM Saturday, the car was ready. They do not have a shuttle service on the weekend, and I was informed I would have to find a ride. read more

If you like bureaucrats then Reliable Chevrolet is your place. Wanting to up grade my dash screen to GPS and map. All it takes is to switch out the original equipment module to one that has maps. Watched it on YouTube and although didn't look too difficult I would rather have a professional do it. Well guess I'll have to find an actual professional to do it because Reliable refused to do the upgrade because they say it's not the original equipment and they have to order the module through the vin number and my vin number doesn't show I have a GPS map so they can't order one. Said they would have to change vin number to be able to order part!!!! What????? These modules exist, Reliable even admitted that. So what's the problem? Order one since they exist, forget the vin number bull shit and install it. Quit the "I can't do this because" excuses and try to serve your customers better. And this part isn't cheap, at least $1000 plus installation. Must be good to be Reliable Chevrolet and not need the business. read more

I worked with a salesman via phone, text and email for two days before driving 3.5 hours to test drive the van. We were frustrated with his intentional delays in processing our application for pre-approval but thought it was a great deal on a higher trim level so we went ahead and made the drive. Upon arrival, we discovered he had not disclosed damage on the drivers side door, front bumper and multiple lights were literally flapping loose. The photos on listing aren't able to zoom in and they only showed full side shots, not close ups of doors. Wasted time and they lost a sell bc we might have considered other vehicles on the lot if he had been a more honest and efficient salesman up front. read more

"Good news," they replied, "the vehicle you inquired about is here!" So drive the hour up, ask for the sales rep, wait the ten minutes we were told would be two seconds, and shocker, they don't have the vehicle. Sold it the day before. He then tells me he didn't email me. Then that the car sold for $13K, then $17K, then $15K, in three consecutive sentences. I ask about another one on the site that five minutes before he said was there. Now it sold three days ago. In fact, everything in my price range sold a few days ago, including the one that sold yesterday; now it sold three days ago. I thank him for his time and go to shake his hand. I would recommend buying a car from Reliable. I did not keep the car (easy 3-day return policy), and they were very friendly and helpful when I returned the vehicle. I was not expecting that. The salesman, Caleb White, was a delight to work with. So glad he assisted me! I was also able to work with one of the sales manager, Mark Lawrence; this was uncommon at other dealerships during my extensive search. Mark personally wanted me to be happy with my purchase, and handled my credit card refund fairly quickly. I read other yelp posts that make him seem terrible-- I can assure you that is not the case. He even tried to make something work with another vehicle; unfortunately, none were the perfect fit. The individual I dealt with in the finance department was great as well. I received a call from William and stopped by late Friday night to look at 1 of the 3 trucks that I has inquired about. The two others had been sold. I test-drove it and decided to come back Saturday morning as I did not agree on the value of my trade in. It did help that I knew exactly what I was looking for so there was no need to negotiate on either side. On Saturday I test-drove the truck again, went over the numbers with William and we worked it out. Agreed on a price and moved on to the financials with Angel. Process was very smoothly all around. The Insurance who was fixing my vehicle suggested I take it to a different body shop but after reading the bad reviews I decided to look for another shop. I came upon reviews for Reliable and I liked what I read so I choose to take my vehicle a 2017 Kia Forte to them. Drew was very honest and up front about the time it would take to fix my vehicle, I was offered a rental by the insurance and Reliable which I choose to decline since I was going out of town. Drew and JD were very helpful and kept me up to date on my vehicle. The work that was done on my car was very well done and I was pleased with it. The only negative about this shop is whomever answered their phone the first time I called was very rude which I believe her name was Cookie, well at least that's what she said when she answered the phone.BESIDES THAT THEY WERE AWESOME read more

I purchased a used 2015 Chevy Impala a few months ago and for the most part have been happy with the car. The process was fairly painless. I asked for an extra key and was told that yes sir we'll get you one of those. It didnt happen. I know keys arent what they used to be, you have to give them the car and they have to take it to their service department and apparently it takes a long time. I never could get our schedules to sync to get it done. Oh well, I'll just pray I never need a spare because it costs $500 to get a new key. What aggravates me the most is the noticeable wear on the door panels. I dont know how one goes about wearing spots onto the lower door panel but it is very noticeable and rather shabby. They of course had the car detailed to the hilt with lots of shiny stuff applied everywhere, so blemishes werent at all noticable. After 3 months though the wear became very noticeable. When I spend over $20,000 on a car I expect it to be awfully clean, not jimmied to look clean, but actually clean. Im not very enthused about a business rubbing shinola over everything to get it out the door. I realize its not sawdust in the transmission, but did I mention I paid over $20,000! I mean c'mon! The two star rating is based on the verbiage related to the star rating system. I might be of the mind to offer three stars because I am mostly happy with the car, but the three star rating is an "A-OK" rating and I dont feel like disguising shabby scuff marks to get the car out the door is A-OK. 9-22-17 update. Took car in for oil change. This car was a "certified" car and as such came with oil changes for two years or 20,000 miles whichever comes first. Or so I thought. I brought the car in today for its third oil change in a year and 5 months and was told that no, the deal was 2 oil changes in 2 years. Bait and switch. Wont ever buy a car here again. read more

When my son and daughter-in-law arrived at the dealership they were told the actual sale price would be $2,000 higher than the advertised price online. Additionally, the dealership was trying to add and additional $ 879 for "Dealer Added Accessories". According to the Texas Administrative Code Title 43 Part 10 Chapter 215 Subchapter H Rule 215.250 (Re: Dealer Price Advertising)...(a) When featuring a sales price of a new or used motor vehicle in an advertisement, the dealer must be willing to sell the motor vehicle for that featured sales price to any retail buyer. We asked to speak with the Sales Manager and he told us that was how "Corporate" wanted to do it. We told them that is was illegal and that we would not pay the marked-up price. After going back and forth and after spend 4+ hours there, our salesman Andy Garcia told them if they were not willing to pay the additional $ 2,000 + the additional $ 879 they were going to sell the car to other "interested buyers" who just magically showed up and they were also negotiating with. When asked why they would be going thru the sales process with someone else while we were sitting in their sales office attempting to buy the car for the advertised price, they had no response. After requesting to speak with the General Manager Derek Hooser, he refused to come meet us and then 20 minutes later the Sales Manager Blake, came by and told us they had sold the car. After agreeing to a price and driving 6 hours to pick up the car, we found out Reliable tinted the windows as a "surprise" and charged almost $900 extra. They basically said take it or leave it. Shady! read more

Not again! My Chevy is a big pain in the ass! This place gouges the shit out of you in service! Once it's sold to you it's your problem! Do yourself a favor and buy a Nissan or Toyota! I've had more useless sensors go out in my Chevy that it's worth! It's like a whole monthly payment to replace it and I've barely hit 70k miles! this is the worst car dealership I have ever been to. I called about a car the salesman kept calling me back while I was at work, after I told him I was at work. I told him I would come an look at the car after work. I made up there today after being told the car was ready, the car looked like someone had a party in it. this was the nasty car for sale I have ever seen in my life.
