We came for take out during the great Covid - 19 . I've been here once before for dine in and the food was pretty good . We got a couple different options - The cran orange salad is worth a go - but I love a fruity salad. The wings are super hot and crispy and delicious . The burrata was definitely a different take - it had something sweet on it , I think spaghetti squash . My only complaint was that we ordered 2 pizzas - both of which were cold (and we picked up pretty quickly) neither of the pizzas were cut , and we ordered one with burrata and neither had burrata on them . I think had the pizza been cut and my order was correct I would have given a better review - but I do want to try and give the benefit of the doubt that with all that's going on they're busy / understaffed. read more

Skip this place for breakfast. I ordered the Olive & Herb bagel with egg, cheese, and avocado. Added chive shmear on the side. The flavors were overall disappointing. Very little olive or herb flavor to the bagel and nothing about the shmear tasted like anything other than plain cream cheese. My partner got the everything bagel with chorizo. The chorizo was dry - but still greasy as chorizo should be? Again quite underwhelming flavor. Both bagels were quite thin and had a texture much like sandpaper. Absolutely not worth the $12 for an avocado bagel. $9 for the chorizo was a bit more reasonable. Perhaps their pizza is better. read more

We were looking for a place that was open for a later night dinner. Reno had always been on our list to try. We ended up getting the Hog pizza and the focaccia. Both arrived quickly! The focaccia was more like a pizza but a good appetizer dipped in marinara 7/10. Reno is perfectly located near the center of Logan Square and is also near the Logan Square Blue Line stop. Please be aware that this place is cash only, so you might want to stop by an ATM before heading in. I came around 8:30am on a weekday morning, so the place wasn't too packed. Most people that came in while I was sitting were getting orders to go. I was just going to order the bottomless coffee, but that sounded boring once I saw that they had a honey cinnamon cortado on their menu. The cortado served here tasted similar to the lattes you would find at most places. The honey cinnamon cortado at Reno was sweet and creamy, without being overly heavy like some coffee drinks can be. To eat, I had the Hook breakfast sandwich. The Hook is their version of a lox breakfast sandwich. I was a little skeptical of the artichoke cream cheese at first, but I ended up liking the taste of this. The artichoke cream cheese, and all of the toppings that came on the sandwich worked really well together. I look forward to making another visit back to try more of the menu items here. read more

What a gem!! Read many reviews about Reno and just couldn't wait to give it a shot. Being in a city known for its pizza, it's hard to compete with others. Reno stacked up to standards, and even better! Started off with with my go to, cheese pizza. All is I can say is wow! That's pretty solid. While we were still sitting I decided to get another one and went with the pepperoni pizza. That's how good the pizza was! Came out very hot and the sauce was just right. Dough was light and had a great chew. I do have to point out one thing, pizza is not served until after 4. We were there early and sat down and were told no pizza till after 4 so we had to go back. Reno is a pretty good spot. They have really good drinks and the pizza is actually awesome. Nice and flat, fresh tasting ingredients, good dough, and ooey gooey cheese. They have a lot of good options and seem to be one of the best options in the neighborhood. Fun game suggestion - look at the names of the drink Act out the stereotype based on the drink names ex. Logan boulvadier and have your friends try to guess what drink name you're acting out. read more

Not a fan of the music, but hey that's okay. The food is what matters. We started off with their spicy meatball appetizer and they were quite big. The meatballs are a blend of pork, rapini, giardiniera, and pepperoncini. They were delicious! The marinara sauce was also very fresh and savory. For pizza, we chose the hog - pork carnitas, rajas, mozzarella & cotija cheese, and salsa verde. Now, I never would've imagined salsa on pizza could be good. However, I was surprised because it was actually good! The pork was very tender, not dry at all like most places. And the cheese... it was sooooo cheesy. The mozzarella balanced out the salsa and the cotija gave it a bold flavor. Thin crust pizza is my favorite and this did not disappoint! I'll definitely be coming back here to try their bagels. Keeping with COVID protocol, no mask, no service. Wear your mask every time the server comes to the table. We chose The Hook, a salmon bagel sandwich and a vegan meatball sandwich with the Frisee Spinach Salad. All were delicious. I do think avocado did not work too well on the bagel sandwich. A real disappointment! I've been a customer since they opened! This used to be my favorite brunch spot. Food was less than stellar. Service was poor, not just poor, the server was extremely rude and obnoxious. The manager tried to smooth things over, but when the lunch came for the third attempt, the bagel was hard like it was 2 days old. The past is the past. I'm going to ignore the unpleasant exchange I had with their pastry chef after my first review and update my review because the food is deserving as such. I have been back several times since I moved to Logan Square and I have to compliment them on their food and service (although I have not purchased a bagel, I still refuse). Food: I can't say enough good things about their food overall. I haven't had a bad thing there yet. Their salads are very tasty, but do require you to add chicken so they are a little more filling (I am 6'3, 215 lbs, and eat a lot). Their sandwiches are, specifically the Master Blaster and Logan, outstanding. I like to add an egg to the Logan for extra protein. Double yum! Their pizza is second to none in Logan Square (sorry Dante's). It is thin, flavorful and mouth watering. Its the Logan Square version of Coalfire (but smaller). Their hummus and bagel chips are a really good sharing item, although the hummus is a tad on the salty side. Service: Its been great every time I have been back. Not sure what happened the first time I came by (perhaps it was an off day for the entire staff), but the staff has been friendly, polite and attentive. I have been in with and without kids. They don't care either way, and they busted out crayons and paper to draw on for the kids. Thats just smart business. Cash Only. I don't love this. They do provide an ATM, but there is a $2 fee. Went here for brunch Saturday about 1030, and the place was packed. Got seated at a window table, and was quickly brought water by one of the busboys. Waitress in short orange hair quickly came and took my order for the egg and bacon bagel. Came back a few minutes later with the food. Nice small bagel with a slightly runny egg and a piece of crispy bacon. Bagel was good, egg standard, and bacon thick cut with a little bit of it burnt on the end. Went to pay, and since I was new to the neighborhood, didn't know they didn't accept credit cards. When I told the waitress that's all I had, she let me just leave and go across the street to the Chase bank. Was NOT expecting that level of trust, but in today's world, was very surprised and happy. Apparently I was pregnant when I came here 4 years ago and left a 3 star review, so I blame it on pregnancy brain. What was I thinking? I love Reno. We've been here many times since (with kids and without) and every item we've ever ordered has been fantastic. The pizzas are delicious (some favorites are the Hang Ten, Paulina, and Oasis) - wood fired and heavenly. The sandwiches are awesome (get the Pine, just do it). The bagels are excellent and their Hook sandwich is a great take on a lox bagel sandwich. And a fun beer selection as well as cocktails. They lose one star for me for being cash only (otherwise we would come here way more often especially on work expense days), but they gain a star back for having a changing table in the restroom (like an actual one with a pad, not those built in to the wall, hard plastic, public restroom versions) and being kid friendly. There are lots of kid friendly places in the neighborhood, but changing tables are hard to find and much appreciated. read more

We ordered a pizza for pick up tonight and the website quoted us that it would be ready in 45-50 minutes. We arrived within 45 minutes and ordered the pizza an hour before they were closing. We got there at about 8:45pm, they close at 9pm. When my boyfriend went inside to pick it up, the pizza was sitting in the box on the counter where they normally serve coffee. The box and the pizza inside was cold. Why wasn't this at least placed under the heaters in the kitchen to keep warm? He told the girl/person that rung him up that is was cold and in return received horrible customer service. She said there was "nothing they can do, they can't reheat it because of COVID. " This is completely understandable but she did not offer for them to remake or give some of our money back. My boyfriend came out to the car, showed me the pizza and after I told him this was unacceptable, went back into the restaurant with it. Told the same girl that this was not ok. She then said the kitchen could remake it, but didn't tell my boyfriend the wait time. He had to ask about this from another waiter. Here are some takeaways: 1) Make sure the kitchen gets the timing right on the food-picking up food that's cold is not ok especially when you quoted us the time. Leaving food out and not under heat lamps actually can cause food poisoning due to bacteria-basic stuff restaurant staff should know. 2) Train your staff better and be accommodating to paying guests; this was horrible customer service and was frankly not good enough. read more

Seemed fast (order was made in about 20 minutes). - We all got bagels. I had read that these were some of the best bagels in Chicago. They didn't taste like normal bagels? They were wood-fire and very thin, also very small. My everything bagel also didn't have the normal everything seasoning on it. - I "built-my-own" bagel and did the everything bagel with scrambled egg and avocado. If not for the fillings, this would have been a sad avocado. Eggs were fine, avocado was great because they added lots of it. I love avocado and was very happy with the portion they gave me. - Overall, bagel just did not feel like a bagel. More like pizza crust? I guess this makes sense because it was cooked in a wood-fired pizza oven. Might be better if you go in with different expectations. Good, but definitely don't go here if you're craving a bagel. - Prices were reasonable? My bagel with eggs and avocado was $6. Not great but also not horrible considering how much avocado they give you. Probably will not return for bagels but I think think their pizza could have real potential!!! I got a cocktail with tequila and blood orange juice and spice on the run which had a nice kick and was really good. We got the Wisconsin burrata appetizer: burrata, roasted figs, and arugula on toast, which was amazing! The creaminess of the burrata paired perfectly with the figs, and made for an awesome flavor profile. We also got the Popeye pizza with white sauce and artichokes. Ordered from here on DoorDash. The kale salad gave me norovirus. In addition, the food quality for the price was not worth it. The ciabatta was very burnt, the bread pudding was one sad piece of bread and the kale in the salad appeared to be torn straight off the stem and not washed. Evidently it was given the norovirus. I've been trying out all the bagel shops in Chicago and Reno was next! I was super excited to try a wood fired bagel and sadly I was a lil disappointed. Not that it was bad but it was thin and pretty small. It didn't have the texture of a traditional bagel BUT I could totally see how a pizza here would be amazing! The crisp outside and airy inside would've made a great dough but perhaps not a traditional bagel. I really really like the sweet potato spread inside. I want so badly to love Reno. The space is cute, the location amazing, especially since I live in Logan Square. Plus I love that it's open practically all the time, with a variety of offerings morning, noon and night. But despite all that potential and many visits at various times, I just don't love it. Last night for example my friend and I shared some wings ($1 wings on Mondays), the frisee spinach salad and the paulina pizza. The wings were super mediocre, with no crispness to the skin, tough meat and overly spicy sauce. The salad was astoundingly bland, which was crazy because I'd seen good reviews on it. And the pizza was a limp crusted, basic pepperoni pizza. Whenever we've tried breakfast it just seems slow and expensive for unremarkable bagels and such. Similar experience for lunch. My son lives in Chicago and we have been eating at Reno everytime we come visit a couple times a year and the quality has always been top notch. The variety of pizzas is interesting and all the ingredients are pared well. Simple wine list with some nice bottles. Good beer and fun cocktails. Pizza here is absolutely delicious. And yummy vegan options! I'm lactose intolerant, and they were able to swap out the regular cheese with their vegan cheese - super easy and tasty.
