Reno is a great experience every time. Since it's just a few blocks from our home in Logan square , we go alot for dining in and pick up. It was my go to race for the Chicago Marathon too. Lots of healthy carbs ! Their staff is so friendly and their menu is so adorable. It's cash only, but they have an atm on sight If needed. I most recently ordered the butternut squash pizza with bacon and sunflower seeds it was absolutely heavenly. Their thin crust pizzas are just enough food, with lots of vegetables and unique flavors. Great food but service left something to be desired. The dining room wasn't full on the Sunday night when we went but our server seemed frazzled. The pizzas we ordered came out after about 30 mins but we were missing our pasta. When the server stopped by we asked about it and she hadn't ever put the order in. She put it in right away and it came out about 15 mins after we received out pizzas. Both pizzas we ordered (the Hog and a build-your-own with fennel sausage and mushrooms) were delicious, but the Mexican-inspired Hog was the star. The Cavatelli (once we finally got it) was also rich and delicious. Once we finished eating we flagged down the server and asked her to pack the few reaming pizza slices in two different boxes. She promptly brought back the check and one box of pizza, but we never got the other. We waited a few minutes to see if she would bring it or even stop back to pick up the check, but nothing. 5 stars for Reno! Particularly the breakfast sandwiches! Lunch and dinner are great too, as well as the cocktails, but this place has awesome bagel sandwiches 7 days a week, when a lot of other places don't serve their brunch fare during the week. The staff is friendly in spite of their hipster appearance. My only complaint is that no one in the place ever writes down my order and it's wrong half the time... Not irredeemably wrong, usually just a missing item or a preparation request ignored, but I have to think this would happen a lot less if the servers just took notes! read more

This was the first restaurant we visited after we moved into our new place in Logan Square. It hit the spot PERFECTLY. The atmosphere of the place was great and they have indoor and outdoor seating. Parking was a little tough on Kedzie, but we were able to find a spot. We started with the spicy meatballs and the salumi, olive & pickle appetizers. They were really good. They have a great beer menu with lots of local options. The Bloody Mary was spot on as well. We got two pizzas to share among four people and that was the right amount. We ordered the Combo and the smoked onions on top had a ton of flavor and tasted like we were at a BBQ. We also got the alley-oop and even though I am not a huge fan of kale, it was still really good. We will definitely be coming back as I want to try their bagel sandwiches on the weekend. read more

Sings: SIMPLY THE BEST. It's like you can tell if people are cool or not if they name Reno on their top pizza places in Chicago. It means they KNOW good pizza. The vibe here is truly one of a kind. Came here after a show at the Logan Theater as choices were slim on what was open. Glad we did. We ordered a salad to start and shared that, which was the spinach salad with fried leeks. It was lightly coated with the dressing and not drenched with good crunch from the almonds and just a nicely balance salad overall, was pleasantly pleased with it. Then we shared the Paulina pizza. That was really good. The pepperoni is smaller which crisps up easier than the normal size one, the crust had a nice oven brick burnt taste which I love, yet still stayed chewy. The pesto on the pizza added a nice touch of heat to it, not too spicy, just enough to add another layer of flavor. Good atmosphere, although it was late and it wasn't all that crowded, but we enjoyed ourselves. They have specials on Tuesdays 2 pizzas for $20 which is a steal..will DEFINITELY be going back then, but will try other things on their menu. read more

My favorite pizza in Chicago. I'm not a fan of deep dish and they have great neapolitan pizza. They also have great appetizers and the ambiance is cool too. The cash only factor doesn't detract from the food at all, and there are PNC ATMs in all train stations so if you don't want to pay their ATM fee you don't have to. read more

Reno has the chance to be really good, but right now they've gotta work out some kinks. Like everyone else here has said, they're incredibly disorganized. The kitchen staff and the wait staff have to start working out their timing better. Maybe they need more wait staff as our waitress had a harried look on her face - and this was only a half-hour after they had opened! This was our experience: Got a seat right away for breakfast Saturday. Charming host lead us to a table. Mind you, not every table was occupied yet. Harried waitress came by to take drinks. Husband gets coffee; I order a tea. She says they don't have tea. Excuse me? You don't offer tea? She says that she's going to tell the owner to get some because people a lot of people have asked her for tea. Uh, yeah, good idea. I really don't want to have to pack my own, thanks. We order three bagels, a brioche, plus a fried egg w/bacon. After about 20 mins another waitress comes to bring our bagels, egg and bacon. They're cold. All of them. There's nothing more disgusting than a cold fried egg. I tell my husband to have them reheat it at least, but given it took 20 minutes he declines. Brioche is MIA. Flag waitress to report MIA brioche. She says they're still baking. Ok, cool, but you could have said something. Bagel is good, Montreal-style, but would have been better warm. Brioche arrives. It is hot. It is good. It is small. Still hungry. Order another bagel. Wait 30 mins. Ask waitress where MIA bagel is. She's shocked it hasn't arrived. During all this time (which is now bordering on 1 1/2 hours) never once did she or the other waitress swing to ask husband if he wanted more coffee. Bagel arrives, he asks for more coffee. Bagel is finished. Coffee still MIA. We get the check - she took off the last bagel because we waited 30 mins for it, which was really nice. And she brought the coffee in a go-cup, at least. So some redemption there. Bottom line: Until organization improves, get your bagels and coffee (not tea!) to go. Food is good and Logan Square desperately needed a bagel place. read more

Great breakfast option in Logan Square! I love my Chicago brunch places, but when you're looking for something on the lighter side, Reno is great! Breakfast sandwiches on wood fired bagels.... And you can still get a fantastic Bloody Mary! You can also grab and go, and they serve Stumptown coffee. Not sure it's a place that you'll travel to, but as a Logan Square resident, I'm thrilled they moved in. Also, can't wait for summer, as they have a great outdoor space! Hard to find parking, and though I read they have valet on the weekend, we did not see one upon arrival? New place, still working out the kinks - has been a new place working out the kinks for a while, though. So I've been there four times. First time: got a bagel and salmon sandwich at the counter, sat at the counter, it was great. Really excellent. BUT, the second and third times I went, I was seated at the communal table, and it was incredibly difficult to get anyone to 1. bring me a menu 2. take my order 3. bring me my food. The nice-looking, bustling waitstaff were happy to exchange pleasant smiles with me, but it took many of these interactions, increasingly pleading on my part, to actually get any food/coffee in front of me. Fourth visit was when I decided to give it one last chance, and they were closed for a private party. Bottom line: great food - if you can get it. But at the moment, having a good time there requires a higher frustration tolerance than I have. read more

Overall very good joint. Server was great even though she had the entire floor. Was even attentive to our young daughter. Only a few things I don't care for: If it's going to be cash only, then have all of the change you need (including coins). Our server rounded up short changed us. Not a big deal, but about as tacky as bitching about it. $6 for a pizza bagel? Really? Thanks for making it off menu though, I guess.... $7.50 for Sammie's is ok, but would be nice if a humble side of chips or day old fruit were tossed in. Would also make that $2.50 eight ounce coca-cola not seem so steep. $28.60 for 2 sandwiches, 2 cokes and a pizza bagel for the kid. Not great, but not terrible either. Reno is a great place for casual dinner with friends. We came in around 9:00 on Friday, and were seated immediately. The atmosphere was cozy; we sat by the giant stone oven. Our waitress was friendly- she recommended some great starters. We ordered the Wisconsin Burrata, and the house made pickles, olives and salami. I'd definitely order both again. The Burrata was almost like savory french toast. We also ordered two pizzas that were more than enough for 4 people: the Nico and the Hog. They were both pretty good. The Nico was very fresh and traditional, while the Hog didn't even really taste like pizza at all. They use salsa verde instead of tomato sauce, Mexican cheeses and porkbelly carnitas to create a surprising and tasty pizza. The ingredients were high quality and the pies were thoughtful and interesting. Wine comes in water glasses and beer is served in cans. A very fun night. read more

I came here for the wood-fire pizza, and I was definitely not disappointed. I got the Spanish pizza with chorizo and mushrooms and it was delicious. The crust could have been a little less-soggy, but it still had great flavor. My friend had the artichoke pizza and it was also very good. The dish that really impressed me was the appetizer, which was kind of a take on bruschetta. It featured a large piece of olive-oil soaked bread with strawberry preservatives, fresh mozzarella basil and arugula finished with balsamic, it was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was on point, and it has a great location right in Logan Square. On Tuesdays they do any 2 pizza's for $20, which is great value. If you do go on a Tuesday, be prepared to wait a decent amount of time for your pizza, but that's what the delicious appetizers are for! Reno really is a great place. read more
