There are no words to describe how amazing Repipe Pro is, but I'll try. My wife and I own a 101 year old house that experienced a large but unlocatable plumbing leak last August. It was a nightmare and we were ready to sell and move out, thinking that repiping the property would be prohibitively expensive and perhaps not even possible. The leak detection company we used (American Leak Detection) referred me to Art Hovsepian, the owner of Repipe Pro. Art had his lead plumber, Edward, inspect our property. Edward came up with a creative plan for the repipe job that avoided destroying our landscaping and cutting through our driveway. Did I mention that Edward, in addition to being a nice person who takes great pride in his work, is an absolute plumbing genius? Well, he is! Last Wednesday, Edward and five other Repipe Pro plumbers started working on the repipe job at 8 AM. Under Edward's supervision, each plumber worked on a discrete component of the job. Very organized and efficient. Unbelievably, they installed a new water main, connected it to the front yard sprinkler valves, installed a new tankless water heater, and finished repiping the main house by 3 PM the same day! My wife cried with relief and joy. The next day, in even less time, they extended the main to the guest house in the back yard and connected it to the back yard sprinkler valves. Edward showed me each part of the work as it was completed. Everything was installed perfectly. A skillful patching and plastering job was completed on the third day. They covered all pathways through the house, counter tops, appliances, etc., so that despite the rain no mud or dirt was tracked into our house. We now have three new hose bibs and five isolation valves that allow us to turn the water off to the guest house, the back yard sprinklers, the back yard, the front yard sprinklers, and the property as a whole. The water pressure is at least double what it was before, and the water is much cleaner and better tasting. All this and more (Edward did a number of helpful and much appreciated "above and beyond" things for us without us even asking) in three days for a price that was $7,500 less than the next higher bid, and that other bid did not include a tankless water heater and would have required up to seven days to complete. Neither Art nor Edward asked me to post a review, but I had to to it both as a public service and to show my gratitude. This was life changing. Art is probably tired of getting so many five-star ratings but I am adding another! I strongly recommend Repipe Pro because you not only get Art and his years of invaluable experience, you also get his whole team of courteous, customer-focused, knowledgeable, and professional crews. My new house was built in 1961 and the plumbing was completely shot: the cast-iron drains were almost entirely closed, hot water wasn't reaching some of the faucets, and there were leaks everywhere including the slab, main, and at the meter. None of the shutoff valves worked completely. I consulted with all companies in my area with top reviews on Yelp, and had mixed results: some were fair, at least one was an obvious hustler, and the pricing was consistent between them. All of the companies intended to replace the water lines with PEX but the approach to the drains was very different. Most of the companies I consulted would have rehabilitated the pipes in-place, i.e., "trenchless," and in these cases the plumbers had a technique they used routinely: lining, epoxy, etc. But their costs were as high or higher than replacing the pipe and the solution they provided was not as durable... I guess you're paying to avoid the disruption. And here is where Art outshined them all: Whereas all the other companies pushed to solve my problem using their favorite technique, Art gave me options and let me decide what was best for me. Art has so much experience that he practically had X-Ray vision when he walked into my house. He knew where every pipe would be in the walls, in the slab, and underground. He then provided various options for repiping my house, pointed out when "tough" decisions had to be made, e.g., removing cabinets or opening walls and floors, and provided pricing and the pros-and-cons for each. Art's service was the best value for money, and his focus on customer satisfaction was amazing. He really cared that I was happy and went over-and-above to address all of my questions and concerns. I opted for trenching and replacing the existing drains with ABS and I have to say it may not be for everyone... for three weeks it looked like someone threw a stick of dynamite into the house! But its all over now, the house looks great, and the plumbing is perfect. Art has a great crew working with him that he has built over the years, with many of his crew working for him for a decade or longer. In my experience they are loyal to him and equally committed to customer satisfaction. Art did exactly what he said he was going to do, in exactly the amount of time he said it would take, and exactly at the price he quoted. RePipe Pros just replaced all the crappy, leaky, cheap copper pipes in my 24 year old 3 br, 3 bath condo in Pasadena. Beautiful condo, terrible pipes, years of problems. Three (3!) wood floors replaced due to pinhole leaks and lots of other problems. Let me tell you how it went: These guys are amazing! It's not at all like the invasion you're imagining; it's like a Navy Seal swat team or surgical team swooping in, highly professional, thousands and thousands of jobs behind them. They came in, got it done, and cleaned it up all in ONE DAY! They replaced all my piping with PEX which is much better than copper. I had a slab leak the night before Thanksgiving. My garage was flooding and I contacted an emergency response crew to find the leak and they responded that night, capped the pipes and stopped the flooding. They offered to come back to re-route the pipes another day, and initially I agreed since I was pretty desperate. The quote for the re-pipe they gave me was pretty high, but at that moment I was thankful they were able to fix it before we hosted 20+ people for Thanksgiving. Also the quote did not include repatching the walls. I started looking at other companies for the re-pipe. I called Art. He told me over the phone he thought the initial quote was too high. We were referred to Art by our plumber to assess whether we needed to repipe our home. Coincidentally, our water company had detected a leak in our system a few days prior to Art coming to view our property. Their reviews speak for themselves. I started my research process by scheduling estimates for three different companies. I saved Repipe Pro for last as I was confident I was probably going to use them based on reviews. I even messaged one of their reviewers from Yelp to get some more information and she could not speak highly enough. Art came by and did a very thorough inspection of every part of the house. He did lots of testing with turning the water on and off to figure out the scope of work and the approach. No other company did that. I discussed some of the trickier issues I thought we might have and he was very candid about what it would mean instead of just promising me the moon like the other guys. In the end, his quote was right in the middle and I was the most reassured by his candor and expertise. We scheduled the job and every step of the way both Art and his wonderful team including Telma were communicative about who would be coming when, which is so rare these days. They were on time and respectful of our home. They did the main repipe itself ahead of schedule and left the house very clean. Next came the tricky part which was fixing a problem that my old remodel contractor made (basically running new underground pipe for the kitchen island). They really went above and beyond to problem solve and tackle the issue in a way that would cause me the least headache. This review is long overdue. A few years ago we had our house repiped by Art Hovespian and his crew. They were honest and reasonable and did a great job. We have not had any problems with any of the work they did. Not only that, Art had one of his workers return to help my husband install the new bathtub at no charge. When they did the repipe they installed a whole house water filter. A couple of weeks ago, my husband needed to change the filter and accidentally broke the housing while trying to remove it. This meant we had to turn the water main off to the house. We searched the internet trying to find a replacement. We were able to find one, but it was going to take at least 2 to 3 days to get it. In the mean time we would be without water. We contacted Art to see if he knew where we could get a replacement. It was a Saturday afternoon and Art was out of town until later that evening. He said he thought he might have one in his warehouse. He went and checked late that evening and by some miracle he found one. He contacted me and told me he would bring it right over. It was 10:30 at night and I told him he could bring it in the morning since my husband and grandchildren were sleeping and I didn't want my dog to wake them up. One of the pipes in our upstairs shower leaked, this picture is of that area after new pipe placed. Our home was built sometime prior to 1928, and has all kinds of nooks and crannies making what would be a simple job of pipe replacement a nightmare. Art, Thelma, John, Simon and several others, were a part of the worlds, worlds, yes I mean worlds,greatest repipe professionals. In one week they had opened up the walls, replaced the hot and cold water lines, closed up and brought to a ready to paint finish all areas opened, inside and outside the house. Additionally, while working on the second day we discovered the sewer pipes had some serious cracks and had the whole sewer system replaced/updated. We were so impressed by the care taken to minimize the inconveniences to us, one day when they finally broke for lunch, late in the day, we served them a little treat to go with their lunch. We had gotten a couple of bids, and not only was Art's bid very reasonable, he also showed a lot of expertise. He walked around our house and suggested to add a new hose bib in the backyard because it would be more convenient for us, so he's really looking at it from the user's perspective. Most Knowledgeable: Of all the different plumber companies I sought for an estimate, Art was the most knowledgeable, and in the first visit he was able to map out where the repiping would be done throughout the house. He gave advice with the owner's affordability in mind and he openly told me what should be done and what was not necessary; no 'upselling'. 2. Asbestos testing: He was the only company that reminded me about getting asbestos testing of the walls and ceiling for my home built in the 1970s. This was good ethical advice and it protected my family from possible asbestos exposure when the cuts are made into the walls/ceilings. Art referred me to licensed asbestos companies for testing. Only when the tests showed no asbestos, that I proceeded with repiping. 2. Efficient crew: His plumbing crew led by Ed arrived promptly (when they say arriving at 8am, they mean it, none of this 'allow for a window of 2 hours' from other plumbers). Repiping included new valves, bathtub handle and faucet, and a new main valve. Repiping with 'Pex A' pipes were essentially done in 1/2 a day. My neighbors commented that the crew were very respectful, quiet, and cleaned up after themselves. 3. Drywall patching and texturing included: no other companies offered this. And by shopping around I know this service is easily $1000-$2000 additional. I love when Art told me 'of course these are included, if you buy a car you should expect to get the steering wheel!' The wall patching/texturing were done after city inspections passed, and I handled the painting myself or you can hire your own painters. 4. Positive attitude/excellent customer service: Repipe Pro was the only company I would easily call/text the owner and he would answer promptly. He made me feel very welcome to reach out with questions. His office did the scheduling and the leg work for getting city inspection, and I just paid the permit fee later. 5. I recommend Repipe Pro for plumbing projects and services. From the start, booking the free estimate up to the patching of the house was very pleasant. Telma is efficient and responsive. She worked with our schedule and accommodated us. Estimates, Art was very attentive and observant in our house surroundings. Most estimates we had pushes us to use PEX pipe, the most convenient and cost effective to use, which we thought reasonable, however not comfortable. Although PEX pipes are easy to work with than copper pipes, Art suggested to use copper pipes based on our surroundings/yard. This shows that Art don't do short cuts. He made sure that the estimates will cater to what we need and most comfortable for us. Art came to give us an estimate to repipe our house. He was polite and very knowledgeable. As we walked around the house, he was able to provide insight as to what it would look like and the process to get there. I appreciated his honesty in making recommendations. as I am a new homeowner. Once we were done walking through the house, I mentioned to him some minor issues that we were having, and he was able to address them immediately! After speaking for a while, he recommended that now might not be the ideal time to repipe everything, if I have plans to remodel the house.
