He said no problem and he met up with our caretaker and fixed the issue in a flash, saving us from having to come right home. Just today, his guys Lance and Josh came to the house to troubleshoot a leak in the basement to find it was coming from a bidet toilet on the floor above it. Complicated? Yes. But not so much that these experts coudn't solve the issue and fix us right up in short order. Obviously, we can enthusiastically recommend Sound Plumbing and congratulate our wisdom in finding such a great resource, not only competent but trustworthy and reliable. That's worth a bundle!

We called them for help when our AC went out again only 3 months after the last technician (from a private equity-owned company, you'd know the name) replaced our refrigerant. Eric was extremely prompt, professional, upfront, and trustworthy. He identified a leak, topped us up with fresh refrigerant to get us through a a few days of upcoming hot weather, and scheduled the replacement same week, even if it was a complicated one with a crane needed and rooftop installation. The crew was efficient, professional, and thorough, and the price was almost half what we had been originally quoted by the other company.

While there's lots of the typical products like nuts and bolts, there's also the power tool and equipment rentals. If needing something like that and you aren't planning on using it again after that then this is where to go. The store can be hard to find things but the staff is friendly and helpful. For a locally owned hardware store it has pretty good finds. It's located at the intersection in the name of course so that helps a lot. There's all the usual household items as well as power equipment and rentals.

Let me guess, it goes something like this: You walk in looking for an item and an associate who can help you. You see someone in paint, but know they can't leave their post, so you continue looking. Aha! A person! Oh wait, that's a cardboard cutout. (This actually happened to me recently at a big box.) Finally, you find someone, and they tell you where to find the item in question. Only, the entire endeavor took way too long, meanwhile, the house is a mess while you're gallivanting the aisles. Enter Clark Devon Hardware. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted and offered assistance. Even if you are just browsing, others will ask you along the way. If you do ask for help, you will either be taken to the item or shown to a person who can help (as in, 'ask this person right over here,' who sees and waves). The team at Clark Devon is knowledgeable, kind, and no nonsense. They know you have things to do and places to be. They will be happy to help you and send you on your merry way. Clark Devon may not be the prettiest hardware store, and perhaps the big boxes may even have slightly cheaper prices (this is unconfirmed). However, it is my go-to for all hardware and home improvement needs, not only out of a desire to support a locally owned business, but because customer service counts for something too. If I am to offer one smidgen of feedback, it's that I wish they were open until later in the evening. For sometimes you come back from work and discover the closet rod has snapped in two, and you need parts to replace and fix.

I've found it increasingly difficult to find service companies that are knowledgeable in their field, responsive, honest and provide excellent customer service. Not only did Green Tech Plumbing check all these boxes, but they also offer fair pricing. A unicorn of a business. After being overcharged and underwhelmed by our previous plumber, I was on the hunt for a capable plumber to install a whole house water filtration system. From the moment I reached out to Green Tech Plumbing, they were nothing but responsive and helpful. I purchased the filtration system from a vendor, yet Kevin willingly answered all my questions (promptly!) about the system. He even pointed out that one of the options had expensive filters that would need to be changed frequently saving me hundreds of dollars in filters. What a gem! Kevin came out to look at how the system could be installed in our space and talked to me through how the system would work and answered all my questions. He then provided a fair quote. Once our system was delivered, I emailed to set up the installation. His team came out the following week for the installation. The tech Kevin sent was just as helpful! He moved the 100-pound tank from the garage to the basement, which wasn't part of their scope. The tech had to make a run to the hardware store to buy connection pieces that weren't included with system, but he knew exactly what to buy and did so in a timely manner. The install was speedy and flawless. The tech was even willing to stay while I called the vendor's water filtration system customer service expert to walk us through the start up process. On top of this great experience, I wrote a check for the incorrect amount and Kevin responded right away saying he would swing by and drop a check in our mailbox for the overpayment. Unreal! This is how you run a company!

Let's start this review by saying that I created this problem because I thought I could play plumber. I broke the pipe upon which my bath spout fits. I live in a high rise and was very concerned that any leaking would enter neighboring units and put me on the hook for many thousands of dollars. I emailed rescue plumbing based on their reviews and I could not be happier. The owner of the company called me with in 12 hours after I submitted the request late at night. He was willing to attempt giving me a quote over the phone with the obvious warning that things could change if the problem were something else. His guys Pete and Paco showed up the next day, assessed the problem and got to work after reassuring me that everything was gonna be okay and that he could handle the job. They also patiently and kindly answered all of my million nervous questions. The walled me through the job told me exactly what they would do. As the plan changed a little bit, the updated me along the way. Throughout all of this my building has a tendency to be very intolerant of contract work and as expected got very angry despite approval from my building engineer. Pete handled them like a champ. He talked on the phone with the engineer and handled our disgruntled security man with nothing but smiles, professionalism and class. Even though the job was about $200 more than expected they told me this upfront and they were still hundredSSSSS of dollars cheaper than the guy I had assess the job before them. They were able to fix everything without removing tile and entering any other units or turning off water for my neighbors (which The Other Guys said they would need to). Rescue plumbing all the way. Rescue Plumbing really came to to the rescue for me. The furnace broke in my condo and a pipe froze, causing a leak to the basement of the building. After I replaced the furnace, it was time to have the leak repaired and turn the water back on. Rescue Plumbing was able to repair the pipe from the basement so no walls had to be removed in the condo. Once the pipe was repaired, and the water was back on, it became evident that one of the toilets had cracked. So the next day (Saturday) Vince Kovac was back to install two new toilets, which he stopped and picked up for me at Home Depot. I also had the hot water heater replaced on day one of the work. After Vince left on Saturday, I discovered there was insufficient water pressure in the kitchen and no hot water to the master bath tap. I called Vince and he came back at the end of his day. He determined that the kitchen problem stemmed from a kinked hose and unkinked it. He determined that the absence of hot water from the tap was because the hot water to the bathroom tap had been shut off because the tap could not be completely closed. No additional charge for the second visit on Saturday. I've had to order two new faucets (kitchen and master bath) and I'll be calling to schedule installation as soon as these arrive. And I'll be asking for Vince to do the work. He's absolutely my new hero. I haven't had other plumbing work done in the city for a very long time. It seemed that the Rescue Plumbing rates were high, but probably competitive, In any event, you certainly get what you pay for. I wanted to let you know how pleased we were that we called Rescue Plumbing. My sister recently bought an old house which needed major plumbing repairs. Since she had to work every day, she asked me to be there to let them in & stay while the work was being done. Our plumber came to the house on Monday morning to take a look at the situation. They were very kind, courteous & professional from the first day. There was a lot to be done & we rescheduled the work on Thursday so they could bring help & equipment needed. They came back Thursday & promptly started to work. We needed a new water heater, toilet & sink repairs, a bath tub full of water that didn't drain from a stuck stopper & a hole in the drain line which needed to be replaced, not to mention the pipes that needed cleaning. There was a lot of work & they took extra care & patience to take out some of the old rusted pipes so as not to cause more damage & expense to the fragile old house. We really appreciated their effort & cooperation. Another plumber came for awhile in the morning to help with the water heater & then our 1st plumber came in the afternoon to help with the repairs to the tub & drains. The both of them were very pleasant, friendly & professional. They went the " extra mile" that means so much. Personally, I was very pleased and impressed, & because of them, I will definitely call Rescue Plumbing for any plumbing needs I have in the future & would recommend your company to others. Rescue Plumbing is literally the best plumbing company that I've worked with during the last 15 years. We have had many water issues in our condo in Chicago. We recently remodeled one of our bathrooms, as well, and had difficulty with Rocket Plumbing. The original plumbers changed the quote, changed what they did, and were trying to re-charge for something we had already paid for. Loga and Djenkis were so professional from Rescue plumbing and really saved us! Loga itemized each job and walked me through the individual work and separate costs. He did several requests that the other plumbers said they couldn't do or tried to double the price. Loga and Djenkis arrived at noon, assessed the different jobs, gave me a quote, and did the multiple jobs on the same day. The prior company had stretched the jobs out over weeks. First and foremost, Loga and Djenkis were so kind and professional. They were considerate and did what they said they were going to do. Not only did they do the jobs in one day, but they did OUTSTANDING work. We are so thrilled with the installations and the plumbing work. Everything works better, the water pressure has improved, and the quality is aesthetically beautiful! I want to take a moment to share my extremely positive experience with Rescue Plumbing Services. On Sunday, October 22, 2023, my tenants faced a sewer overflow emergency, which was already quite distressing, especially with young children in the house. We reached out to Rescue Plumbing Services, and their response was nothing short of outstanding. Despite the emergency nature of the situation, they promptly arrived between roughly 10:00 am and 1:00 pm and provided top-notch service. Their team assessed and resolved the problem efficiently, leaving us with a sigh of relief. I was initially concerned about the cost, but to my pleasant surprise, Rescue Plumbing Services offered a fair and reasonable quote of $1000 for the service. Considering it was a Sunday emergency call, this pricing was more than reasonable and competitive with the market. I recently hired Rescue Pluming to fix some leaking faucets and broken shower temperature controls in our house. Reny and his helper came to my house to perform a free estimate on the same day I called the company. They were thorough and courteous and gave me an itemized and very reasonable estimate based on what they saw. The estimate they gave me was significantly lower than what was given by another bigger plumbing company we had worked with before (but were never happy with their service or value). I'm happy we made the right choice to switch to Rescue Plumbing this time. Once the parts arrived, Reny and his helper came back to my house to perform the job a couple of weeks later. They spent 5 hours total in my house and replaced all the bad cartridges and temperature controls. Reny used toilet paper to test the faucets to make sure they no longer leak. He even helped install a toilet bidet and fix a loose kitchen faucet that were not included in the original estimate free of charge. Dex with rescue plumbing is the best in the business. We called 4 different emergency plumbing services after a pipe burst in our dining/living room and none were available to come until the next day. We got in touch with Dex and explained that our unit's water shutoff valve was inoperable due to failure, so we were unable to stop the leaking and prevent further water damage and therefore could not afford to wait for a plumber to come the next day and he was at our home within the hour. We ran into additional unforeseen complications with getting our water turned back on in the following days -- all of which were the City's responsibility to resolve, and even after the plumbing service Dex was hired for was successfully completed, he continued to check in and did absolutely everything in his power to help us solve these issues. Dex is communicative, professional and extremely reliable -- I can't recommend him enough to anyone looking for a trustworthy and transparent plumber in Chicago. Dex and the crew literally saved our night (and our hardwood floors!) We got home from work and the kitchen sink was backing up with gross water and quickly started overflowing onto the floor. Between bailing out drainage water and panicking, Rescue Plumbing answered the phone in 2 rings and said we can help you right now. Not only did Dex and his team show up AFTER HOURS in the SNOW, they were warm, kind and jumped right into action to save my kitchen. They knew exactly what to do, explained it all to me, told me the costs right up front and stuck to it. Within 30 minutes they fixed our building's drainage issue, cleaned up the kitchen neat as a pin and were out the door with a quick joke. I hope I don't need to see them again but also if I need a plumber, they're saved in my phone and getting every recommendation. 4 seasons and ABC told me I'd have to wait til tomorrow afternoon at the earliest and I think my floors would have been ruined from overflowing sink water if I didn't have Rescue Plumbing. Our tub had clogged up, leaving standing dirty water causing the entire house to smell overnight. My wife was on a flight home so I had no time to waste. I tried to plunge the tub, but quickly realized I needed a pro. First thing in the morning I filled out the form on Rescue Plumbing website and received a call back almost immediately and was scheduled for that day. Pete and Noah arrived quickly and I immediately knew I called the right guys. They walked me through some pro/cons options. My tub had clogged several times before and I wanted the issue permanently fixed so they replaced the 60 year old drain pipe. I was amazed they were able to do all that work that afternoon. We awakened to a dreaded kitchen sink leak; water was pouring out of what we thought was the garbage disposal, so we immediately called Rescue Plumbing. it's Labor Day weekend so we were not only surprised that out call was answered but that a crew was sent over a few hours later. Randy and Isaac arrived early, assessed the issue, informed us that it was not the disposal but a leak caused by the vibration of the disposal; that over time it loosened the drain pipe so that it created a leak. They spent twenty minutes tightening the pipes, and the leak was gone! As per these wonderful, honest gentlemen, the repair was so minor that they didn't charge us a cent! When has that ever happended to you? We're never calling any other plumbing service again; and if any of our neighbors are in need of a plumbing service, we're recommending Rescue, for indeed Randy and Isaac rescued us! Every time I call to schedule an appointment, I am always greeted with kindness and professionalism beyond compare! You need to be commended. Whether it's from fixing my clogged toilet to my flooded basement because I had leaking pipes, Rescue Plumbing always manages to amaze me with their amazing work and workers. Dexter and his team were great. Our main sewer line backed up into our garden unit, sewer water overflowed from our toilets. We called Rescue Plumbing and Dexter was there within an hour of our call to investigate. Dexter came by the next day with the full crew to start the work, rodding to clear the blockage. Our building which was not serviced in a while & needed proper power wash and rodding all the way to the city street (80 feet in distance). Not a good way to do this so Dexter and his team installed a cleanout pipe/valve halfway (40ft) between our home and the street, 6 feet below ground (a lot of digging). This was all done within 36 hours!! They were non-stop to get us back to working order again. They also coordinated with the city inspectors to get the new sewer line approved within that time as well. I will call RP & Dexter if we ever have an issue again. read more

After a big Spring rain, the basement of my two flat flooded with Sewage backup. Pete and Paco were out in less than an hour from my call. Pete diagnosed the problem and created a temporary solution until they could return with the people and equipment they needed to fix the issue, which was a closed off pipe from roots outside. Since the building is old it needed a clean out put in outside so it could be rodded out. The 4" interior cap and old clay pipe made things difficult. They returned the next day and hand dug a 6' ditch to get to the pipe and replace it and put in a clean out pipe. They did the job in less than one day and just needed city approval. They got the city out the next day and finished the job without making a mess or ruining a set of bushes. Pete and Paco kept me informed the entire time and were on top of everything. Thanks Guys. I recently had a situation where my basement sink baked up onto the floor. I called Rescue Plumbing and the lady I spoke with was really polite and helpful and she was able to get someone to come out right away. Sam and Rick came to deal with the problem and they were really great! They wore masks, had shoe protectors and were really respectful and careful inside the house makings sure to keep the work area as clean as possible, not dripping any dirty water on the carpets or anywhere else. They told me what needed to be done before starting and they let me know each step of the way what would be happening. They answered all my questions as they came up and they were really personable and easy to talk to. The problem was fixed with recommendations as to what to do going forward. I will definitely be calling Rescue Plumbing for any plumbing needs in the future! read more

I had an absolute plumbing nightmare-- a collapsed drain line underneath a heated, tiled concrete slab. It required disassembling my kitchen, relocating the drain line into a wall, and tunneling under the slab to connect to another sewer line, which had to be reworked as well. Dex from Rescue Plumbing handled this massive job with incredible skill and care. What impressed me most was the thought he put into minimizing the invasiveness and damage to my home. He approached every step with expertise, creativity, and a calm confidence that made a stressful situation so much easier. "It's a journey" he humorously told me, and boy was it ever! I had a GREAT experience with Rescue Plumbing !!!!! Right from the beginning things went smoothly. First of all someone answered the phone. No kidding....Actually got a live voice on the other end. Very refreshing!!!! The woman was super friendly (wish I could remember her name). She seemed genuinely concerned and got me the earliest appointment within minutes. Pete and his apprentice (son Noah) arrived on time. These two guys were great let me tell ya. Very friendly and courteous!!!!! They took the time to explain the problem throughly and had it repaired quickly. Hope I don't have any more plumbing problems but if I do Pete, Noah and Rescue Plumbing will be my go to!!!! Dex from Rescue Plumbing was a lifesaver!! Gift from God! Dex came over quickly on a Sunday at 2pm and didn't leave until midnight when the entire "grease pit" blockage was solved at my 100 year old 3 flat. My landlord is selling his house in 3 weeks for $800,000 and ignored the major plumbing issues, never completed payment to Rescue but Dex was so concerned about my 2 year old daughter and wife being able to shower and use toilet without a backup that he finished the work and even came back the next day to make sure all was good still while not being paid in full. We've had a number of great experiences with Rescue Plumbing - most recently with Dex and Eric in Restoration. Unlike the prior full service home maintenance company we were previously using, Rescue always picked up the phone (even in evenings and weekends) and provided same day service. This is great piece of mind living with a family and dealing with the unexpected "emergencies" of home life (i.e., clogs, leaks, and other non-functional mechanicals). On the most recent visit, Dex and Eric both clearly explained the issues, provided examples of the costs/benefits of any actions/inaction, and provided clear expectations even prior to executing the work. The work itself was done efficiently, accurately, and on time/budget. I'll continue using them for all my household needs. read more

Dex Murati of Rescue Plumbing was awesome. He came out fairly quickly after we had contacted Rescue Plumbing. He and his associate respectfully wore protective masks. Mr. Murati quickly diagnosed the water leak issue that led to water damage in our house. In fact, we worried we had a ruptured pipe that was leaking and put us to ease with the accurate diagnosis that the water was coming from outside the foundation of our house. He quickly hooked us up on the spot with a restoration company they have worked with in the past that came the very next day and were also excellent to work with. Because of MY scheduling conflicts, he was the LAST of three quotes I received. But as the saying goes.. "save the best for last". That statement couldn't me more true. I was lucky enough to watch him work and actually TEST what was going on BEFORE telling me how bad of a problem we had. The other two quotes I received saw the problem, tested nothing, and said they needed to excavate and because of that, the price was going to be way more. Their process was..."break the concrete, THEN rod the pipe to see if there's a clog", which would also be an all day job with a team. Andres insisted on rodding the pipe first, and that he'd be done in 20 minutes. He said IF that didn't work, (because he was going to test it again), THEN he would have to break open the concrete. I don't know about you, but that seems like a much more sensible option. He let me watch as he pulled all kinds of debris out of our kitchen stack drain. By the end, he had a nice sized pile, and water was flowing through there like Niagara Falls. He was done in 20 mins, as promised. Since he was there, I asked him if he had time to check our tenant's unit because they were having some drainage issues. He said he was trying to avoid rush hour, so why not? Lucky for us, he fixed another clogged drain, and a leaking pipe that we had no idea about! While we were talking, I asked him if he has a team he works with. His response: "No, I work alone because I don't trust other people to do good work and do it right". He also cleaned up after himself (you'd be surprised, but this is not always the case when people come work in your home), and I insisted on cleaning so he could leave, but he refused. He'll be back soon for some more work and I'm thankful to know we'll be in good hands. The world seriously needs more people like Andres. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Thank you again!!
