The seafood fettuccine was well rounded, and I'm impressed at how well each protein maintained its own unique flavor. The shrimp were a great size, too. The coconut shrimp were equally good, and the dipping sauce made them even better. They don't serve food other than appetizers before 5pm, something we didn't know in advance. We thought we would grab something quick before our flight home, luckily for us the waiter knew we were in a hurry and put the order in a little early and we got it quickly and made it to the airport (10 min drive). Good, not great. Meh. I was pretty excited about checking this place out, considering all the wonderful reviews this place has received from a number of my Yelp buddies. But, I've got to be honest. I wasn't impressed. Maybe my expectations were a bit too high. Head to Pearl Harbor. Yes, the Pearl Harbor Historic Site. You'll pass the Pearl Harbor entrance on your left. Keep going straight down that road and you'll find Restaurant 604 off to your left, next to the marina. Great place to go if you're in the area and want to grab a bite in a restaurant with a very pretty view. My husband and I came here on a Sunday for lunch. They don't accept same day reservations, nor do they accept same day "call-in." If you aren't sure, a "call-in" is when you do just that: call the restaurant to let them know you'll be down there and when you show up, they bump you up to the top to their wait list, if there is one at that moment. But, I repeat, they don't accept same day call-in, so... you might as well make a reservation or show up like I did and hope that the wait isn't very long. Luckily, it wasn't busy yet and we were seated almost immediately. The entrance to the restaurant is on the left side of the building on the second floor (if you're standing and facing the building). The restaurant is waterfront, open-air style dining. Very pretty. I imagine it would be really nice during sunset. Lots of parking. Staff is friendly enough. My interaction to staff was limited to my waiter taking my order, bringing me my food, asking me once if everything was fine, and then swinging by with my check. I mean, yeah, he did his job. But when he took my order, he didn't quite ask me about what I wanted, as far as my options for my meal. No biggie. The food was meh. I ordered the Fresh Catch Plate (which was marlin that day). It comes with what's supposed to be a cilantro-ginger sauce, your choice of white or brown rice, and "Hawaiian" mac-salad. Nothing quite "Hawaiian" about that mac salad. The fish was cooked nicely, but there was nothing real spectacular about it. Again, it was good, not great. My husband ordered the Country Fried Steak - he wasn't quite impressed either. I didn't try it, but based off of his assessment, I'd say it was "meh." I really would have liked to be raving about this place like most of the other Yelpers. Kelyse and the staff at 604 were awesome! We elected to sit at the bar and avoid the 45 minute wait and so glad we did. A nice breeze was blowing through and we had a great view. Stef and I split the tacos and the Ahi Katsu. The did not disappoint. Kelyse did a great job managing the bar , made some great drinks and, despite having a full bar to attend, made us feel like we were her only customers. The ahi katsu was Uber tender and flavorful. Not a fan of adding soy sauce, or anything extra for that fact I found it really brought added to the dish. Note: I generally don't add sauces, etc as my view is if it should be added it should be on the plate when it comes from the kitchen. The accompanying rice, salad and Mac was perfect. For the tacos, the flavor was bold and really brought the heat without overpowering the dish. My one complaint would be to much moisture in the taco resulted in the tortilla dissenting rating before we could really eat. Find a better maître d', your current one doesn't know how restaurants work. Learn how to assign tables. Learn how to make basic accommodations. If you have a table that can fit 6 or 7 then a party of 4 to 6 that have been waiting for way longer would have fit there now wouldn't it? Are you discriminating by the amount of guest?. The service is mediocre but that excludes the bar. Waiting for over 2 hours for a table is just unfathomable. They know how terrible their Front of the house is because they disabled open table reservations because it was obviously hurting their bottom line as you can't leave comments on open table without a reservation which means they know they have issues. Well this party of less than 6 or 7 would have definitely patronized you more than tho$e 6 or 7. I'm also gonna have open table hear about This. Great food, great view. Had to stop at four stars because we had a little problem with flies coming on our food. Their parking lot should be way more lit. A bunch of friends and myself stayed their til closing, and walking to our car was kind of scary. Our waiter Tai was charming. He knew what the happy hour specials were. The food is an upscale version of typical "plate lunch" found in drive in's or food trucks. I ordered the kalua pig (Hawaiian version of pulled pork) plate lunch - a bit "upscale" nice plate with lots of kalua pig, two scoops of rice, and of course, a scoop of macaroni salad. My colleagues also had similar experiences with the poke plate - upscale versions of local favorites. In addition to the tasty food, 604 has an awesome selection of beer to include local brews. My friend recommended this as my last meal in Oahu before going home and I am glad she did. The restaurant was beautifully placed on the water near the Arizona Memorial. We did not have a reservation but were seated fairly quickly with a great view of the ocean. I had the clam chowder for an appetizer and I tell you what New England is not the only one that knows how to make a great chowder! I followed the chowder up by being daring and trying an oyster shooter (I recently started enjoying grilled oysters and I will say that raw oysters are NOT the same.). I did not enjoy the shooter, but I am sure for a person that likes raw oysters they would like it. My main course was the Ahi nachos, and if they are still on the menu please try them! I have never been so surprised and delighted with nachos before. They chips were not your expected cantina style chips, no they were the large Chinese wanton chips! They were light and tasty with the ahi and the aioli dressing. There were too many green onions for my taste, but I am sure you can ask for them not to be put on the dish if you choose. The waitress was helpful and the food came out quickly. I really loved this place and recommend you give it a try. We went on a weekday around 5pm, so it was not crowded. Given it is COVID-19 time, it is reassuring that there is a constant breeze and that outdoor feel.
