Meh. I was hoping to eat off the dinner menu, however, I went around 3 PM and they were going off the brunch menu. I got the chicken and waffle. It was okay. To my surprise, I really liked the praline syrup. With that being said, be aware. The waffle comes with praline syrup. I wanted a side of bacon because why not, but they were out. I got the andouille sausage patties instead. It was pretty good. I'm good with brunch. I may go back to check out their dinner.

I'm going to start with the great. Service! Absolutely, terrific service. On point with timing, friendliness, and knowledge of the menu. Our guy was Jeremy and I can't say enough about his skills. The atmosphere was a vast improvement inside over the last restaurant using the space, but the exterior needs a facelift. But, we went for the food. More importantly, we went for the Cochon au Lait which was being advertised HEAVILY as a whole pig experience with sides and cocktail pairings for $100 a seat. Unfortunately, this was where the failure occurred. The cocktails were beautifully presented and a little sweet for my taste but good overall. The food was just Sad. The appetizers were an over-breaded, fried rib, a pathetic pig in a blanket and the super spicy jalapeño. The bacon wrapped jalapeño was cute, it had a little tail and an attempt at ears but the two we had were spicy enough to have just arrived directly from hades. The winner of the entire dinner were Bread and Butter pickles. Sides were Dolly Parton coleslaw (although advertised there was no Dolly Parton music going on)-I love some Dolly but she better stick to singing, this was mayo on cabbage. Collard Greens had no flavor, not properly cleaned-woody stems intact, and as my favorite side dish, I was truly disappointed to let them fester in their cup. Thirdly, there was the whatever that was pasta doodles salad, I couldn't touch that. But the PIG?! No, my friend. No crispy skin, smoked pork butt or shoulder, dried out, pulled pieces dumped over dirty rice without flavor. The cornbread was average but at least it did have jalapeños in it. We left the sides and hoped for a dessert miracle. Dessert was the largest serving with 3 triangles of banana bread standing up for presentation with bacon ice cream which I had high hopes for but again it did not deliver. The last cocktail pairing, I gave to my husband and I ordered a glass of Chardonnay. It was a French, been opened far too long, turning that deep, yellow, foreboding color and it too was left behind. Sadly, we won't be back to try the rest of the menu.

Wow, our party of 3.5 people absolutely loved this restaurant! For starters, Fried Green Tomatoes, thinly sliced, crispy, thumbs up from everyone. The Vegan Mushroom Gumbo, wonderful flavors, not spicy. A large bowl served 3 of us easily. Continued with the Shrimp and Grits which our 1 yo also appreciated. The pasta was moderately spicy with some heat but all very good. The highlight was the Fried Chicken. Large pieces - Waiter suggested 3 thigh pieces for 3 adults. It was perfect. Chicken was crispy on the outside, super moist on the inside. Finished our dinner with Praline Bread Pudding with a scoop of Praline ice cream which was an awesome choice. The staff was all personable, provided excellent service. Ambiance was lovely, background music was upbeat and fun. The only thing we were not thrilled about was no high chair for little ones. Not a kid friendly restaurant. No cups for little ones to drink out of. The waiter was resourceful and made a cup like from a soup container for water - punched a hole in the lid for a straw. We were celebrating a birthday and they added a sparkler candle in our dessert and provided a to-go gift of Persimmon Jam. Very nice gesture. Highly recommend trying this place out. The food is one of the best southern restaurants ever had. Don't go with little ones. Appropriate for couples, families with kids that can drink out of a real glass and not require a high chair. One star deducted for that reason. Food, service and ambiance =5 stars!

This is a cool and cozy restaurant. Some of the dishes like the chicken are made to order; however, they let you know if something will require an additional wait before ordering. I had the fried chicken and gumbo which were good. I also had a pineapple margarita which came in a cute glass but I didn't enjoy the syrupiness of the drink. The service was great. Parking is okay as they have more spots behind the restaurant. The deviled eggs were good and my friends didn't enjoy their food was much.

Visited for brunch and surprised there weren't more people. The parking is a little dicey but they do have a shared lot with other restaurants. Service was really good and they make everything in house - from the bar to the kitchen. They change the menu often based on what's in season as well. We had catfish with grits, french toast, bacon, and biscuits. It was all pretty good. The French toast could have been thicker and more flavorful --definitely lacked the cinnamon flavor. The praline syrup is fantastic.

Fried catfish fillets on sauce on rice topped with crawfish

Did someone say James Beard(JB) or Michelin star(M) in other reviews??!! Wow!! Ok, so I went last Friday night after this place was highly recommended by my very good friend who has impeccable taste and has eaten at several JB and M restaurants. I was seated immediately. I was rather disappointed in the menu because it didn't include any items that are shown online and has too much fried foods for my taste. I ordered fried catfish (yes, for lack of something better) with crawfish etouffee on white rice @ around $39 and a side of greens w/cornbread @ $13. Price not a big deal if its worth it. I told the waitress I was in a bit of a hurry and she said ok, I'll let the chef know.. The restaurant wasn't full so no big deal, I thought. There was a 3 top already eating, a 2 top waiting for a friend, another 4 top that hadn't ordered, and a 3 top just receiving appetizers and drinks so i figure this wouldn't take long. Well 25 minutes later my food arrived. I told waitress I'd probably have to take most with me as the play would be starting soon. Sooooo, the food was extremely disappointing especially since I'm a Cajun boy and I cook Cajun very well, so well my friends and family recommended I cook for profit. Not bragging, just telling it like it is. The 2 catfish fillets were very hard from cornmeal and overcooked. They were sitting on a tablespoon of etouffee that was sitting on white rice. Oh, the crawfish had never touched etouffee, it was on top of my catfish fresh out the package it came in. Still clunked together. It was crawfish and etouffee, not crawfish etouffee. The flavor of this dish had lots to be desired. Bland and ever!! Nowhere near Cajun or creole, so where is Beatrice from?! New York? And the side dish of greens and cornbread were very tasty. Just wish there was more than dollop. I was so disappointed, I took a photo after my first bite. Maybe I just went on a really "off" night. The service was good and the place is intimate but DON'T go for the food. It's not Cajun.

i beg you, please visit restaurant beatrice immediately!!!!! the food is decadent and prepared with precision, the staff is inviting and informative, and the ambiance is quaint and classy. i will scream it from a mountain top, that i love supporting quality local businesses and this is definitely one of them!! i urge one to do research on the businesses they choose to patronize, because understanding the business model of restaurant beatrice is truly inspirational. the restaurant locally sources as much produce and meats as possible, they hire from the neighborhood, they make sauces and stews from scratch. needless to say, they care about the environment and their impact on the environment in every way. all of this same care is applied to every dish. the menu is seasonal and based on what is available. which i love because visiting is always a surprise of what will be on the menu! the menu is inclusive and offers dishes that cater to a variety of dietary needs. there are not enough great things in can say about restaurant beatrice, and urge foodies to visit!! bon appétit

Restaurant Beatrice - Classy, Curated Cajun-Creole Cuisine Full Review: https://maggeatsworld.substack.com/ Finally checked out Restaurant Beatrice after passing it a million times, and wow--this spot delivers classic NOLA charm in both flavor and atmosphere. As someone who lived (and ate) in New Orleans for two years, I can confidently say: this is the real deal. Why You'll Love It: * Perfect for date night, special occasions, or impressing out-of-town guests * The bar is a whole vibe--charbroiled oysters, bourbon (or a great mocktail), and the game on TV * Women-owned & led--shoutout to Michelle Carpenter (also behind Zen Sushi in Bishop Arts) What We Ate: * Drinks: Unique, balanced, and expertly crafted. The Rocks, Ruby & Rosemary (gin, grapefruit, elderflower) was flawless, and the margarita mocktail was a standout. * Savory Beignets: Best I've had since La Petite Grocery in NOLA. Golden, airy, and paired with remoulade. * Charbroiled Oysters: PERFECTION. Buttery, garlicky, and the hot sauce is already incorporated. * Jalapeño Cornbread: Moist with the ideal crumbly mouthfeel--could tell it was good before I even took a bite. * Shrimp & Grits: A classic, perfectly executed, with a luxurious tomato-based sauce. * Blackened Redfish with Crab & Shrimp, topped with Crawfish Cream Sauce: The crawfish add-on was a must. Rich, flavorful, and decadent. Final Thoughts: I only wish I had booked a Fat Tuesday reservation to celebrate Mardi Gras properly! Every dish was thoughtful, layered, and decadent--true comfort food. I'll definitely be back for the next round of seasonal Southern Creole flavors. A must-visit in Dallas!

Third times the charm? We are back and had the pleasure of spending New Year's Eve dinner at restaurant Beatrice in Dallas Texas. Met with Southern cuisine and fine dining paired with a lieu of cocktails that will have you rethinking that New Year's resolution. However, at some points the service felt a little rushed, and the kitchen seemed to be channeling some extra New Year's energy, resulting in a slight appetizer adventure. We're definitely coming back for round two - we're calling it our "Beatrice: The Remix" tour. Sidenote: "Do you want your cornbread?? Why yes for $140, what's an extra 4 or 5? We would have love some especially with how great their gumbo is! Troux!!!! Until next time Beatrice.

4.5. Came for brunch. We ordered a cup of gumbo, buttermilk salad, biscuits and gravy, a side of fried chicken, and bread pudding. Everything was great - I loved the hash with the biscuits and gravy and the bread pudding especially. Our waitress was so friendly and helpful in making menu selections. We were shocked how empty it was this morning- we will definitely be back to try their dinner menu!

We sat in the patio and it was lovely! You would think with a busy road that would not be the case but even in a Friday night it was enjoyable. The red beans and rice were delicious as well as the pasta. The bread and greens sadly seemed overcooked as the greens were a bit mushy and the bread harder than I would like.

Bread Basket - there's more but some had already been picked out!

Cute atmosphere but the service and food was just ok. Beatrice is not a very large restaurant which is great for dining in an intimate space. I came with a group of 8. The service was a little slow considering the size. We went for an early dinner so there weren't many people there. Our server was very nice though. The food was ok. The bread basket featured a variety and was very good. It came out hot and had butter and jams. We also ordered the cajun rolls which were a special for the evening. These were good as well. I love duck personally so I was excited to try it here. It was ok so didn't blow me away. One of my friends ordered mac and cheese along with jambalaya. She didn't finish either and felt they were bland. The mac and cheese looked ok. One of the girls ordered the hummingbird (I think that's what it was called) cake. It looked really good. Others did have a small piece and seemed to enjoy it. Overall, no return visit for me but could be worth it if you go and order other things outside of what we had.

Adding to my fav spots! Def coming again and again. The await staff was Amazing. Please OVER tip them and thank them!

I came in planning to order food and a golden turmeric latte and spend some time working. When I walked in, there was a messy looking podium which turned out to be an unmanned hostess stand, but there were no signs or instructions indicating whether I should wait to be seated or order at the counter. I started walking toward the counter when a tall woman quickly stomped her way to block my entrance and demanded to know what I wanted. Then asked if I was dining in or ordering to go. The way she rushed over and her tone made me feel as though I had done something wrong just by walking in. The interaction felt unnecessarily aggressive and confrontational. I was so taken aback that I just ordered a golden latte to go. I felt embarrassed by how the situation was handled, especially in front of other customers. Any excitement I had about trying their food disappeared after that moment. And I was not allowed past the podium. I was basically by the door while I waited. Unfortunately, the interaction didn't improve from there. The barista handed me my drink while keeping noticeable distance, which added to the uncomfortable feeling as if I wasn't meant to move past the entrance area. As someone new to the neighborhood, the overall experience felt very unwelcoming. I even tried to lighten the situation by mentioning that a friend had recommended the place and that I was new to the area, but I was cut off mid-sentence. The drink itself was also disappointing. Compared to golden lattes I've had elsewhere, this one was very grainy and lacked flavor. It tasted more like hot water with sediment than a well-balanced turmeric drink. Given this experience, I don't plan to return. For a small café that wasn't busy at the time, the presence of a hostess-style setup without a hostess there felt unnecessary, and the customer service did not match the welcoming atmosphere I was hoping for. This is not a high end place and I was wearing a bouse, black pants, and dress shoes. So I'm not sure what that was.

We initially discovered the restaurant back in January when we dined there and immediately fell in love with the food, service, and atmosphere. That same night, we inquired about hosting a larger event (around 80 guests) and secured our April date with a deposit. From the very beginning, working with Jenna, the manager, was seamless. We communicated though text, which made planning easy and stress-free. Jenna curated a limited menu for our guests featuring popular dishes she personally recommended--chicken, beef, lamb, and vegetarian options--which made ordering simple while still offering great variety. She was also incredibly flexible with seating arrangements and accommodated exactly how I wanted guests placed. One detail I especially appreciated was her willingness to honor special requests--she arranged for a tres leches cake from a local bakery for dessert, which was a huge hit. On the day of the event, Jenna met me an hour early so I could set up extra decorations like flowers, a banner, and place cards. That extra time made a big difference and helped everything feel personal and organized. As guests arrived, we had them go directly to their assigned seats--which I highly recommend for a group this size, as it fills up quickly. The staff immediately began service with starters (hummus, salad, and bread), and they were quick to take both food and drink orders. Everything came out promptly, and the service throughout the evening was incredibly attentive and responsive. Every single guest had something positive to say about their meal and dessert, which says a lot when hosting a group this large. After dinner, the staff cleared tables efficiently, and we were able to enjoy the balcony space--an absolute highlight. It provided the perfect backdrop for photos with family, overlooking the Dallas skyline. At the end of the night, Jenna checked in with us to debrief, mentioning that the assigned seating helped her team provide faster, smoother service--which we definitely noticed. Not only did we have an amazing event, but we also felt like we built a genuine connection with her. She struck the perfect balance of being both professional and personable.
