I had high hopes for the brown sugar sage latte but it fell short for me. The sage flavor wasn't really there for me and the almond milk made my drink taste a bit off. I would get oatmilk next time. What we ordered: smoked salmon toast, double shot of espresso, mocha, chai latte with oat milk. The toast was tasty, but I found the bread to be a little too thin. It didn't support the weight of the toppings and started to bow up on itself when I ate the second toast. The espresso was acidic and sour tasting, and the taste wasn't indicative of the tasting notes posted. The mocha tasted like milk and didn't have any chocolate taste to it. The chai latte tasted like water. It was difficult to taste the tea and the cinnamon overpowered the entire drink. There's a cute courtyard outside shared with some other businesses. Avocado toast: 9/10 Perfect blend of crispy yet chewy sourdough bread glazed with butter reminiscent of childhood breakfasts. The avocado was fresh and balanced with the tomatoes in a way that brings a tear to your eye. The salt and pepper seasoning had large kernels and popped in your mouth when biting into this masterpiece. Serving size was more than enough for this reviewer and could be shared with another. Very cute new space in Carlsbad. Revolution Roasters has the absolute best coffee in Oceanside and we were eager to try their new location. They just opened three weeks ago according to their Instagram. The front offers several tables with benches and umbrellas for shade. Their back area is surprisingly large which you can't tell from the outside. There are lots of additional tables with benches and umbrellas and Astroturf for dogs/kids and limited seating indoors. I had a Matcha latte, which was excellent and toast with almond butter and bananas, which was delicious and a generous portion size. The service was a bit slow, considering it was a Thursday morning, but we weren't in a rush. I love that they have stainless steel cups for water rather than disposable. One of the best things about this location is it's shared with several other shops: Shootz (fish & beer), Stella Jean's Ice Cream, and Pack Ratt Records & Route 44. There were a number of people working on their laptops and plenty of room for everyone. Tip: There's a free parking lot conveniently located just to the right of this location. read more

I am absolutely obsessed with their matcha lattes. They're just sweetened with honey, and I honestly think they're the best I've had in recent memory, if not ever. Everyone's always super nice whenever I drop by, and quick with getting food and drinks out. I also love that it's in a little courtyard with some other food places. LOTS of people working and basically standing around doing nothing while one person takes the order(even with a big line) and only TWO people making the drinks. I've traveled widely, here and abroad, and love supporting new coffee shops, especially in local neighborhoods. However, this first time experience was disappointing. The summer crowds have left so it was not a busy morning, and no line up, yet I waited an unreasonably long time for my order, a flat white. So long, I debated whether to cancel my order. There were three staff behind the counter but only one barista. That should have been sufficient for the small amount of customers, but clearly wasn't. I'm all for a relaxed vibe but this was to an extreme; no sense of urgency among the staff in getting drinks out timely. In addition, at the time of ordering, I wasn't asked what size cup I wanted, but when I looked over at the stacked cups, saw that the larger size looked 12 oz, so assumed my flat white would be that size. But no. My drink came in a smaller cup. I expressed surprise at the smaller size (again I've ordered flat whites from a myriad of establishments) and the barista stared and said "you ordered a flat white" as if that was the only size for a flat white in the coffee world. Well, it's not. The drink, $5, tasted good but the whole experience felt like style over substance, and not worth the long wait. I've given 3 stars because the café was spotless and situated in a lovely complex with inviting outdoor seating. read more

I came there and paid eight dollars for a butterscotch latte. I got their largest side, which isn't very large and it comes with two shots the hostess, who took my drink order said that you can have a maximum of four shots and that's what I asked for so it justified the eight dollars for 16 ounce iced coffee. I was greatly disappointed when I read the receipt and it said add shot, but it doesn't indicate how many shots so out of curiosity and to make sure I wasn't ripped off I went back to the hostess who made my drink and I said how many shots did you put in here and no one could give me a straight answer. I said one person said two shots. The other person said three shots and then they just look confused. I think the cashier ended up telling her the right answer but then they apologize and said yeah we'll just add another two shots. There's only two shots in there so here's what my receipt looks like if you request for four shots let me know if your receipt looks the same because I don't see how they can tell how many shots go in here just by looking at the receipt. I'm actually sad to be writing this review. My mother and I always come to Revolution Roasters when we drive down to San Diego since we are from Huntington Beach and LOVE the drinks and the yummy fruity toast! We always get the matcha and today decided to also try their chai, since the worker told us they make it in house and I wanted to try something new! The drinks did not fulfill our expectations at all. Both drinks had way too much ice and the chai was SO watery tasting. I always get almond milk and I don't think the milk should affect it that much in weakening the flavor. I LOVE a good spicy chai but this just left a bad after taste in my mouth with no yummy notes of chai at all. My mom got the raspberry matcha and that also was not great. The matcha was VERY weak and didn't taste of matcha like I remember the drink to be when I last got their matcha when we visited. The workers seemed awkward and overall have left us to go on our way to another coffee shop right now. Revolution Roasters use to be our fav coffee shop to visit on our drive down to San Diego but now.. I'm not so sure after the milky, flavorless drinks we just had. read more

Someone else in my party had the Chai latte and it was amazing as well. The location is in such a cute space with a taco shop, ice cream place and a small bar within just steps.
