Someone else in my party had the Chai latte and it was amazing as well. The location is in such a cute space with a taco shop, ice cream place and a small bar within just steps. Loveeee the ambiance here. I was visiting Carlsbad and this place is such a vibe for early morning coffee. Open concept, super friendly staff. The food is delicious but the coffee is just on another level. I had the honeycomb latte (that unfortunately is seasonal). I loved it so much I came back for a second cup before leaving town. Will definitely be back. Whoever the developers are of this 3 business suite are genius and the business owners and just killing it with the concept. Wife and I ordered Dirty Chais for the road. They had a ridiculous amount of cinnamon. We didn't have time to return to exchange so I drank more even though it was hard to swallow....my mistake. The cinnamon ended up burning my mouth and especially my tongue, which hasn't yet healed going on 3 days. I came there and paid eight dollars for a butterscotch latte. I got their largest side, which isn't very large and it comes with two shots the hostess, who took my drink order said that you can have a maximum of four shots and that's what I asked for so it justified the eight dollars for 16 ounce iced coffee. I was greatly disappointed when I read the receipt and it said add shot, but it doesn't indicate how many shots so out of curiosity and to make sure I wasn't ripped off I went back to the hostess who made my drink and I said how many shots did you put in here and no one could give me a straight answer. I said one person said two shots. The other person said three shots and then they just look confused. I think the cashier ended up telling her the right answer but then they apologize and said yeah we'll just add another two shots. There's only two shots in there so here's what my receipt looks like if you request for four shots let me know if your receipt looks the same because I don't see how they can tell how many shots go in here just by looking at the receipt. I'm actually sad to be writing this review. My mother and I always come to Revolution Roasters when we drive down to San Diego since we are from Huntington Beach and LOVE the drinks and the yummy fruity toast! We always get the matcha and today decided to also try their chai, since the worker told us they make it in house and I wanted to try something new! The drinks did not fulfill our expectations at all. Both drinks had way too much ice and the chai was SO watery tasting. I always get almond milk and I don't think the milk should affect it that much in weakening the flavor. I LOVE a good spicy chai but this just left a bad after taste in my mouth with no yummy notes of chai at all. My mom got the raspberry matcha and that also was not great. The matcha was VERY weak and didn't taste of matcha like I remember the drink to be when I last got their matcha when we visited. The workers seemed awkward and overall have left us to go on our way to another coffee shop right now. Revolution Roasters use to be our fav coffee shop to visit on our drive down to San Diego but now.. I'm not so sure after the milky, flavorless drinks we just had. read more

Revolution has become my go to coffee shop since moving to North County, and now that there is one in the Carlsbad Village, I come in even more. This location has a great outdoor space for kids to run around in, so it's a great family weekend spot. The best Vanilla Latte around, and all their baked goods, syrups, and alternative milks are made in shop. read more

The salmon toast was just okay for me; I prefer something a bit more tart, and this one lacked the acidity I was hoping for. This is the best matcha in North County (and I've tried them all!). They use high quality, ceremonial grade matcha. They make their own syrups and also make their own almond milk (infused with cinnamon, dates and vanilla). Incredible pastries, yummy toasts, and they even have some vegan pastry options! The staff is super friendly and sweet. A great place to sit in a relaxing environment in the middle of town with a big parking lot. Highly recommend a stop here! read more

Great coffee and amazing specialty toast. We had a rosemary salted cold foam and a maple latte that were excellent. It's so refreshing to get specialty coffee that are not overly sweet. We wanted a little snack and shared the seasonal toast. It was the perfect sweet/savory toast with pancetta, lemon ricotta , micro greens, butternut squash and balsamic drizzle on country bread. It was enough for two people and delicious. The courtyard is great with nice turf and a lot of shade. The courtyard is surrounded by a brewer, ice cream shop, more food and a vintage shop. They have a few seats inside with small tables for laptops, and a lot of large tables outside, and in the common area. Good coffee, but this time I tried the matcha green tea latte, which is great, not too sweet, and flavorful. Service here is friendly, and they try to be on the more environmentally friendly side. They have a parking lot that they share with the other cottages, but good luck! Fish and beer spot right next door. My husband and I have been going to the original location in Oceanside since it opened and it's one of our favorite coffee shops. We regularly buy coffee bags to use at home for pour over and love their drinks and pastries. I'm so glad they've opened a second location and it's so adorable! It's located within The Cottages in Carlsbad; the other businesses there are The Plot Express, Stella Jean's Ice Cream, and Shoots Fish and Beer. This location is great with its own patio, plus a shared patio with the other businesses. It's a great spot to meet friends and is very kid-friendly. My toddler and I have visited a couple times already, and I've met a friend here for coffee. Revolution Roasters has the best pastries and I always look forward to seeing their new creations. They always have one or two gluten-free options that my husband and toddler enjoy, and they usually have a couple vegan options as well. They do fun seasonal drinks and offer a fun variety of tasty toasts. This is a wonderful addition to Carlsbad! read more

I have been to RR three times. I am definitely a coffee consumer and enjoy visiting different coffee shops. The lattes are good; however, totally overpriced. I think the simple answer to this is location - coffee shops/eateries in the area can get away with charging more due to demographic and tourism. The customer service is ok, not wonderful, and kinda pretentious as another reviewer mentioned. Overall, going once is a nice experience for something a little different, coffee art, etc., although no latte is ever worth $7, especially when their $6-7 sizing is a medium or large at other shops. Yes, the economy has not been great and businesses have increased costs, still, the prices at RR are greedy in my opinion. To be fair, one or two other coffee shops nearby are overpriced as well and not necessarily exceptional. So yeah, it's a location thing as I see it, businesses taking advantage because they can, unfortunately. Compared to other nearby cities with cool coffee shops, good coffee, and fair pricing. read more
