Revs is my fav! I go here almost every Friday with a group of friends for what we call "Friday Morning Coffee Club" or FMCC. Phil, the owner, knows my name and my drink (which I know is standard for coffee places, but it seemed like he knew it the second time I came in and how you remember that many names and drink orders- I don't know) Anyway, I love their homemade goodies. The chocolate chip cookies are soooo good. If you have a chance to try their carmel rolls in the winter, YOU MUST! They are beyond delicious. This place is fantastic. Why? I'll tell you. 1. Friendliest staff in Seattle. 2. Good space to get work done or hang out with friends (there is plenty of room so you aren't fighting for tables). 3. Pluses: very friendly baristas/staff and spacious areas with some nice places to it. Coffee was good. Not the best, but certainly not something I would have needed to add anything to... (good sign). Minuses: the lighting is really dark unless you sit near the windows/front and the decor (ie; cement floor) doesn't do much for me in terms of ambience (I am picky about lighting). Also, when I have been there were only cookies and sweet breads to eat... and so that is an issue for me. I don't eat a lot of sweets and would have liked something savory or neutral at least as an option. While Peet's is a chain... I do like their coffee, the cafe itself (Greenlake), and the food selection better. But Revolutions beats them on barista/staff appeal. read more

I do everything I can to spend my afternoon here doing work, best place in greenlake. The barista is really friendly and accommodating, and always starts a genuine and fun conversation. Another great part about this little cafe is definitely the music. The afternoon barista (she told me her name but i've forgotten, shes got long brown hair) always plays a variety of music ranging from gangster rap to slow and sad music, either way, I can always focus on my work while enjoying a good coffee. It definitely contributes to the amazing atmosphere that people are always raving about on here. read more

Why bother running a coffee business if it is going to be this bad? Terrible, bitter coffee, a filthy establishment, and rather over-earnest servers pushing their favorites on you. My macchiato came with an overly large spoon and a plastic glass of tap water, no artful foam designs, and, well, the timing of the pull, or the fineness of the grind must have been off because it tasted awful. It takes effort to learn the art of fine coffee, but the owners of Revolutions are apparently not interested. Even the menu projected on the wall, which is a cool idea, is crooked and no one has bothered to straighten the projector. I guess the step ladder is stored with the broom and dust pan, and it's all just too much effort; or more likely, they just didn't notice. Storyville, La Marzocco, and Woodlawn have coffee figured out. I'll spend my money there from now on. read more

I really wanted to like this place. It's literally a minute's walk from our front door, even closer than Charbucks (which we try to avoid, since my husband is big on quality coffee), and the outdoor seating looked very inviting on a sunny day. However, when we actually walked in--it felt like we were entering a deep, concrete cave (it felt very gray), and the counter was all the way at the back, under dim lighting. We walked down the steps--the only other customers there (a weekend) were laptop zombies, and there was no chatter going on whatsoever. It felt lonely. We finally got to the counter, waited for someone to show up (it took a couple of minutes of standing there), looked for a menu--there was none--and finally ordered our drinks off the top of our heads (there were very few pastries left at that point). We sat down on some semi-comfy couches in one corner and started talking--but the music was super loud and kind of weird, and my dad (who's older) had a hard time hearing what we said. He felt very uncomfortable there, like the place was too "modern" for him and that he didn't belong. The abundance of gray concrete walls and industrial feel really got to me, I don't know why. It just all felt so open and empty... no cozy spaces to settle in with one's drink and talk. So while I'd love to give this place a better ranking, since I know they really ARE trying to bring people in, and they're right next door to us--I honestly feel like they need to make the place more visually appealing and cozy somehow. Maybe throw in some standing screens between table areas, to break up the huge cave-space a bit more... something to give people a little more space of their own. That's a big part of what makes a coffee shop hum, to me. I'm glad that other reviewers liked it more than we did, though, because those will be their return customers, and they're going to need them. read more

What the hell have I been thinking, going to Starbucks when I'm at Greenlake? This is the best place to get coffee at the lake and maybe even in the city. You can't go wrong with Caffee Vita coffee and it's serve up with a swirly flourish here. I like the ambience with the concrete floors, artwork on the wall and comfy leather chairs. I like that they bake their pastries right there and I'm in love with zucchini bread. Oustanding baristas, hip vibe, but not too hip so oldsters like me feel comfortable. Located immediately next to Road Runner Sports by Green Lake, Revolutions Coffee was a great discovery. I was surprised at the friendliness of the baristas - they made me feel so welcomed to be there! The latte was very smooth, though a little lacking in flavor. I also tried the blueberry scone, the maple scone, and the coffee cake (I was there with friends - I wasn't THAT hungry); the scones were a bit too dry, but the coffee cake was wonderful. The atmosphere was very chill; concrete floors, cool artwork, good lighting, and great music. read more

This is one of my favorite places to stop at the end of a bike ride - just a few flat minutes from home with great coffee and yummy baked goods. A little dark inside, but the seats are comfortable and the atmosphere is welcoming. Baked goods such as scones are one of my favorite foods and Revolutions does them right. I like that the selection changes, but the baristas are always willing to tell you about everything. read more

Revolutions is a great place to quickly hydrate and grab a snack after a couple hours of lounging at Greenlake or running a couple loops. The interior is cool and dimly lit, lending it a cavelike feel. Tables and couches are widely spaced out and they have a stack of games for your enjoyment. The baristas who work there are friendly and adorable -- when I asked for a mango smoothie and one of them accidentally made me a strawberry one, she gladly gave us the strawberry one for free AND made another mango smoothie (both of which were delicious, by the way), no questions asked. I think they have free Wifi so this would be a great place to chill and study. read more

I moved to green lake almost 4 years ago and stumbled into revs one day and have been a daily regular since. They have great service, coffee, and baked goods. Phil, the owner, is their every morning and makes the best cappuccino. Another this I love about this place is how friendly everyone is. If you have a routine like me, every morning i go in and see the same friendly faces and have built great friendships and community through this shop. Much love. Cafe by Green Lake. Lots of space but not a ton of tables. Luckily not crowded so finding a table near an outlet wasn't terribly difficult. I didn't pay too much attention to the bakery items (nothing stood out). Friend got a pesto cheese roll which was microwaved for heating up (I prefer an oven). Lady working there was friendly and accommodating. My Americano tasted great. Free wifi. Not loud. Music wasn't bad and thankfully not blasted at an annoyingly noticeable level. Plus, WTF is with the wireless code (WEP key) on little schnibbles of paper? Mainly, this place is gloomsville, and in a place with Seattle weather, I don't need it. One of my favorite little local coffee shops. Not many places have rice milk these days. The owner is usually on the grind and I love him. Good place to study too, with punny little magnets on the espresso machine. Its too bad about the now metered parking but if you walk a few blocks up woodlawn its free. read more

I rarely post reviews but this place is worthy. I've lived 200 feet away for three years and never stopped in. It's the best coffee shop in the area - no question. Terrible coffee. It's never a good sign when you ask the barista "how are your cappuccinos?" and their response is "umm decent, I mean good I guess." I should have walked out right then but I ordered a cap and a small drip as a backup. They both tasted burnt and watery. I guess it's just part of the process of finding put where to find decent coffee in Seattle. They can't all be Vivace, Zoka, or Victrola. The brownie I bought was decent, so an extra Yelp star for that. Don't come here for coffee! read more

I came here once and ordered an iced chai tea latte...it was essentially ice water with a hint of chai in it. Definitely the worst I've ever had...not sure about the coffee since I probably won't be going back. read more
