We went to Reyna for a double date on a Wednesday night and loved the ambiance/environment -- it was perfect for a date night and will definitely be returning (probably to try their brunch). Food was top tier -- we started off with the lamb baklava which was so unique and delicious and quite a conversation piece. Must get the fries -- they also were willing to accommodate my fiance's request for truffle aioli (her favorite dipping sauce) which was so so appreciated. We ended up getting a second round of their fries which are super thin and crispy! We did entrees family style which was fun and they definitely did not disappoint. Drinks were also top tier - my fiance isn't drinking at the moment so she got a mocktail which she loved. The quality and attention to the drinks honestly was some of the best I've seen in NYC. My vodka martini was perfect -- I usually stick with martinis but I was very tempted to try some of the unique concoctions they have -- the other couple did and they stuck with their initial selection for 2nd rounds so I assume those also were quite good! Reyna pretty much hit the trifecta for us when the service was so friendly and caring. The servers all had a great vibe starting with when they came over to introduce themselves and you could see they clearly cared about making us feel super welcome (critical for a date night!!!). Made a reservation on a Sat night and arrived in advance of my guest in town from Europe. I was greeted by the charismatic Tima who went out of her way to give us the best table in the house. The decor is beautiful and throughout our dinner, our waitress was extremely attentive and thoughtful. Tima stopped by to check in periodically and during our time, we came to meet fun loving Apollo along with the management (the attention wasn't excessive...it was just right). Each person was absolutely delightful and the food was worthy of the prices. Note, the croquettes were to die for! Lamb baklava was alright, nothing spectacular but certainly over priced at $9 EACH, spend and other 15 and get a whole chop - the price doesn't make any sense Civeche was watery and bland My cocktail had too much foam - wasn't bad but was great either. Friends cocktail had a cinnamon stick with a flower thing attached by a drying clip - presented on a tray with a glass box of gold painted rocks. We both just got a Chardonnay after. The service was decent, nothing spectacular but not terrible. Decor is nice. You're in prime Greenwich village. Imagine someone decided to curate the most perfect cast for a television show and put them to work in one of the coolest vibiest restaurants union square could offer. That is some thing that me and my friend experienced on our birthday dinner recently. I felt like I entered an HBO television show restaurant where each person working there had a story and character arc that i needed to know more about. And not only did they have a story, but they were so fun, accommodating, energetic, and just loved what they were doing. And that's just the people. Before I get into the food, a major shout out to Shatima, the host for being so kind of fun by making me and my good friend's bday dinner special but seating us in a really nice section of the Restaurant and providing a bday treat at the end. Shout out to Luis, our server, for being so funny and sweet and always checking to make sure we were good. And a lastly, a shout out to Sia, the manager for being accomdating and fun during the entire night. The food was pretty freaking good. Just finished having brunch here and I was disappointed in many things. Let's consider this place has only been open 9 months so first impressions are everything in NYC. However I'm sure the owner and general manager know this. First off the place was half empty during Sunday brunch peek time so when I got the call I was running late clearly they need business. The restaurant is beautiful and they put much thought into the detail, decor and color. Which is why it photographs well. While you try to enjoy a meal to many people are taking pictures. This place is more for the instagram post then anything else. The service was off and slow. One server our server Rashad was hustling and working almost every table while the other tall young blond boy was not interested in any of it. The service was slow and we had to keep reminding him for things. I get it he's the only one so it's a lot. Then you have a host I believe with lots of curly hair which should be tied back serving water to tables in street clothes which made it very confusing who does what. Another worker young boy with black hair in the back area of the dining room hanging out wearing headphones then sitting at the bar waiting to end his shift. The bar had a mess of dirty dishes and tons of napkins being wrapped up ready for dinner service. The food was even less impressive the shakshuka had zero flavor the reyna salad was boring and the fries were burned and flavorless. To drink here is the the bottomless drinks which is what the draw is to this place. Was looking forward to this place but it leaves much to be desired but if you want a great insta pic of get drunk off the bottomless drinks have at it. I don't think they will make it the competition is tough in the city don't count on instagram. First impressions are everything and they failed. Everything from the lighting to the menus and the plates were impeccably designed but nothing was overdone. The food was great. I had both the french toast and the short rib grilled cheese and it was delicious and fresh and filling. We also choose the bottomless mimosa that came in a crystal samovar. As with everything else, the presentation was perfect. Best of all, our server Rashad was attentive, funny, helpful and kind. He is the true definition of hospitality. Not only did he sing happy birthday (he has an amazing voice) but the restaurant also signed a card for the birthday girl so we would have a tangible reminder of out time. It was all small plates - they suggested we just order and they would bring it out in the order they recommended. But there seemed to be no thought in the plates which arrived at random times.
