The pizza box sushi is cool but unless you're getting it Togo, just seems wasteful. The sushi was good though! We were a party of 6 and made reservations ahead but probably didn't need to although I'm sure it was helpful to know. The hostess were young and could have used a little direction but they were figuring it out with a little attitude towards the bus boy that probably wasn't needed. We saw the valentines sushi box on Instagram but didn't know how much it was until we called to reserve one for $60. We ordered it for take out so we didn't stay in the restaurant to comment on the service or ambiance of the place. Overall the concept of this was really cool! Execution, however, was okay. For $60 I kind of expected a little more especially since 2 out of 4 rolls were just rice and 1 type of fish. Even adding cucumber or avocado in those 2 rolls would've made it a little better. The first piece I got had a thread of lint on it :( the rice also seemed too mushy and some pieces of fish didn't seem fresh. The tuna nirigi I actually ended up spitting out cause it didn't taste fresh at all. Service was fantastic! Met here for a business lunch and the server was attentive and kind. Because I was there for a business lunch I didn't manage to get any photos of my meal. We had the shishitos for the appetizer and the ginger/garlic/soy style sauce was delicious!! The Shipman sushi was AMAZING and I even had a to-go container because there was so much food. My brother took three of us here for lunch since we were all in the mood for some great Asian food. Parking was relatively easy for lunchtime on a weekday in their front lot. We were probably greeted and then seated. The lunch menu is relatively large and has lots of great choices. It was difficult to decide what we wanted to eat. I finally decided to try the Moo Shu pork. It turned out to be a very generous and tasty portion. It included six pancakes and the hoisin sauce. My crispy egg rolls were great and served with sweet-and-sour sauce. Everyone else at the table enjoyed their selections. My mom enjoyed the chicken Satay with peanut sauce. The men's bathroom is clean and operating properly. the interior of the restaurant is nice and soft contemporary. There is a big sushi bar at the back. I would definitely be back to this particular Asian restaurant. I want to try some of the other selections as there are many choices. read more

The place is clean, the service was extremely slow. We basically had to flag down our server any time we needed something because she was also a bartender. The food started off good--except for the shard of metal that was in my sushi roll. At first I thought it was a shell from the crab, but no. It was a legit stiff wire, similar to chewing on a staple. We think it came from a metal scrub brush? Or one of those grill brushes?! We pointed it out to our server who promptly got her manager. He gave us 50% off the bill. Needless to say, our appetites were ruined and we didn't really want to finish our food, but we were exhausted and the service had already taken so long. The other rolls seemed fine, but we should have just asked for a full refund and left--rather, the manager should have just given us our meal for free. Thank goodness I discovered it. Rice Bistro & Sushi is really close to our house, so we are able to walk there and enjoy some drinks! We started with pork dumplings and spring rolls. The sauce that comes with the dumplings is so good and the spring rolls were really crispy. We wanted to try a little bit of everything, so we had the Chicken Basil dish and the Beef Chow Fun noodles. The chicken basil dish was really good. The veggies were fresh and had a little bit of crunch to them. The basil added a lot of flavor and freshness to the dish. The beef chow fun was ok. It tasted great, but I wish there were more veggies with it. We also tried a couple of desserts too! Like I said, we wanted to try a little bit of everything. LOL! We had the cinnamon apple spring rolls. OMG, so delicious. It was a fun take on the apple pie flavors. We also had a toffee bar that was topped with ice cream. It was like a toffee brownie. Hubby liked the bar and I liked the apple spring rolls, so it was a win win for us. Hubby had some purple haze sake, which was pretty good. I went with a melon mule. We knew the restaurant was purchased by someone new and decided to try it for lunch today. We are so sad to say the tables were dirty, the food just ok but the service was absolutely terrible. I honestly have no idea what to make of our experience here. The restaurant (and especially the bathroom) was so dirty we almost left. In the 20ish years we've been eating out together, I can count on one hand the number of times we've left a restaurant after being seated without eating. We decided that the food coming out to other tables looked good enough to stay. But let me tell you - this place is an interesting mix. The food was outstanding - truly. Everything we ate we enjoyed. The waitress was so kind and great with checking details with the kitchen. She was quick with water refills and checking on us. Couldn't have asked for much better service. But the place felt like a breakfast diner - I could have sworn a stack of pancakes would walk by any minute. And for a dirty restaurant (everything was sticky and filthy), an $80 bill for two, and Madonna playing endlessly over the sound system (what?!?!), we wouldn't go back to this spot most likely. We were picking up my daughter from a camp in Aspen Grove and the lunch specials drew us in. We can always do Asian! I ordered the Yushan Chicken and Hubs had the Chicken Pad Thai and our little had the Sweet and Sour Chicken. Lunch specials are a decent deal because you get soup and a spring roll with your meal for about $10. Hubs and I both had the hot and sour which was super yummy. We rolled the dice and ordered wonton soup for our little and she did enjoy the won tons. (Didn't actually eat the soup!) The spring rolls are meh and our meals were just ok. The Yushan and Pad Thai are denoted as spicy on the menu but they definitely are NOT. We asked for chili oil and sriracha and it needed every bit. The chicken was kind of dry and it was just OK overall. We will likely visit a different Asian eatery when looking for a fix! read more

Salmon Roe - The rice is well cooked, and theres plenty of salmon roe packed in to each roll. Cucumber Avocado- Super fresh, deliciois every time. Prices are fair for the quality you get. What a disappointment. Just picked up takeout. Ordered Mu Shu Chicken. Cover was not on which caused a huge mess. Was never given the pancakes that were suppose to come with it. The chicken pieces were massive, rubbery, hunks of meat rather than shredded chicken. The Pad Thai had the same rubbery, inedible chicken. The edamame were filled covered with brown spots. We have been coming to rice since I can remember it opening and now that there are new owners it has gone down hill. The manager and staff were drinking and taking shots in front of customers while we hadn't been checked on at all with empty waters and empty drinks for an hour. I have been eating at Rice for over 10 years and it is my go-to spot for a business lunch. Our experience yesterday, however, made me rethink it all! We arrive at 12:45 with a party of 4 adults and 1 kid, and we're sat immediately. It took about 20 minutes for the waitress (who I think was new) to come and take our order and then it took another HOUR before we got our food. None of our orders were complex (a sushi roll, orange chicken, teriyaki chicken and thin noodles - all off the lunch menu) so I have no idea why service was so incredibly poor. I had to leave without eating because I had another meeting at work and had only allocated 1.5 hours to have my lunch. The food finally arrived at the table around 2:15, after I left. I am appalled at the lack of service and am shocked as this has not been my experience before. Maybe it's under new management or there is new wait staff? Our group reserved the party room 4 months in advance and had it confirmed the day before, only to find it occupied at our arrival time mid week in December. I even confirmed everything the day before!!!!!! We were offered seating in the main restaurant and after our meals were finished we occupied the room for the last 20 minutes of our party. We were offered a discount on the charges which we accepted but there is no excuse that is acceptable except total incompetence on the part of the manager. He said that "there are two reservation systems and the host was confused". The manager did not take responsibility. We were repeat customers but after our third try, it was almost a total disaster for our Christmas party. We would not return as a group, and I would not return as a regular customer. The wife & I just ordered a sushi platter (fan favorite platter) and it was simply not a fan favorite. I called yesterday to see what the best way to go about ordering this platter (for take out) so we can enjoy a decent lunch for Father's Day and the person answering the phone said to call at 11am (when they open and tell them you'd like it ready by 1pm). So, I call at 11 and place our order and the server said (I've been here a whole year and I haven't heard of that dish, one second).. well, that should've been a sign to not order it.. the sashimi plate (with other rolls) is often a nice treat where the wife and I splurge a little (without the kids) and this was just a major let down. We didn't even finish the sashimi and the avocado on the rolls was clearly made when I called at 11 because it was so soggy and clearly expired. Anyone who has worked in hospitality knows what expired food often looks and tastes like. We weren't going to call and complain (because it just seems more exhausting than what it's worth and we thought we could hopefully save someone from making the same mistake as we did) but if you're gonna spend over $130 for a sushi platter, go somewhere else. What we learned today.. was.. If you're looking for a good sushi meal, do not come here. Your wallet will thank you later. If the business owner reads this, please take the time to look over the Togo meals (especially the ones where customers are paying you over $100 and choosing your location to complete a special day). Tried it out and so far, it is definitely not our favorite place. The miso soup was way too salty and it was more like bitter scallion soup. The salad was too drenched with dressing to really enjoy and eat. The chirashi had really nice fish but the cuts were small and super thick. Similar thing with the sashimi in the sushi/sashimi combo C plate. Best item I enjoyed was the salmon avocado roll. In general, the rice seemed a bit hard to me and didn't seem like it was the best quality rice. It was disappointing since other reviews wrote about how their dishes were made of high quality ingredients. The best part of the restaurant was our server Angie. So sweet and helpful. read more

I wish we could rate individual pieces of this business because the location, atmosphere, lunch prices and server were all fantastic! For lunch I ordered the 2 roll deal with came with soup and a small salad for around $13. This was a great lunch special However, I think it's important to also talk about the quality of food. The rolls in the lunch special were very basic and sort of blah. I tried the salmon and avocado roll and the tuna roll. I ended up going heavy on the soy sauce and ginger to give them more flavor. My friend ordered the Cantonese noodle dish and also said it was ok but not great. I'll def come again because the location is fantastic and hopefully we only had a bad day.. read more
