This is our go to spot when we are craving orange chicken and lemon chicken. We also like grilled pork and grilled chicken. My favorites are Taiwanese rice noodle stir fried and egg drop soup. The perk of redeeming free food once you made enough purchase is nice. Always short line but food is fresh. read more

Wanted shrimp fried rice and found this place online. Did not say it was inside of a Basha's supermarket. Not a made to order place but rather everything is already made & under a heat lamp. Shrimp was consequently dried out. I think I chose it because of the price, but quality suffered. read more

I ordered the Crystal Shrimp from the lunch menu which is described as follows "Jumbo shrimp sautéed with fresh vegetables in white egg sauce. Served vegetable egg roll, crab puff, and fried rice" for delivery via Uber Eats. The Crystal Shrimp was hot and pretty tasty, but nothing else was as described. There was no egg roll, no crab puff, and I received white rice instead of fried rice. I was very disappointed by the MISSING items, which I was looking forward to. When I looked at the menu on Uber eats, the Crystal Shrimp was only on the lunch menu and was described with the additional items. read more

This is beyond awful. I'm pretty sure none of this was real food. So many issues. First, it's located in a Bashas, which I didn't know or else I would have stayed clear from this place. I get there and no one is behind the counter. Ok fine, it gives me time to see a sign that says text this number and get a free appetizer. Not bad. Actually it was the worst marketing and terrible idea with the worst execution I've ever seen. The sweet lady comes out from the back. You can see what I got from my food pic. Issues number 2, they had what seemed to look like leftovers from the lunch crowd. 3 or 4 trays where food usually goes, we're all empty. The rest of the food just looking amazing under the heat lamp. Ugh. Third, I ask for my free app because I sent a text message and got the notification. Good think I have 3 numbers and I chose one I don't use so they didn't get too much info. I ask for the crab Rangoon appetizer and she gives me ONE crab Rangoon!!!! One? I give you my info and I get One??? Don't think I'm complaining about free food but come on, one what kind of nonsense offer is that? It was crazy to me. At least give me 2 for all the hassle everyone has to go thru. Sometimes free isn't always good either. Number 4, the food was actually pretty terrible, but I was so hungry I didn't have time to go to another location. So at the end of it all, the only thing good I got was the fortune cookie message. I will never go here again. I hope I'm not going to get sick or puke later. Also, Bashas should vet their vendors a bit more carefully. The food is very good if you get lucky and they have just made it. We went 1 1/2 before closing and the rice and chow mein was so dry and not even enough for a full helping. I asked if there was fresh batch coming out and the lady said we close at 8 which like i said was an hour and 1/2 Before closing. Sorry but the oil that is used here is cheap quality and bleeds out onto the food. I had orange chicken and sweet n sour pork . Vacationed in Scottsdale AZ and did some shopping in Basha's Supermarket which is where the Rice Garden is located. It's a take-out format. I have to be Gluten Free & that's hard to find with Chinese food. Stopped to look at the menu, just in case, & spoke with the gentleman (I believe he's the owner). He said he could make some of the meals gluten free for me. YUMMMMM! My favorite was the Garlic Chicken with sauteed veggies in sauce and white rice - absolutely delicious! My husband (NOT GF) got Sweet & Sour Pork 3 times, & said it was wonderful! The gentleman who did this for me was very kind to take the extra time to make these meals, and he'll never know how much I appreciated that. We are home now and definitely missing the Rice Garden!! The food is very good, and you won't be disappointed, it is especially a treat if you have to be Gluten Free. read more

The staff at Rice Garden are always very kind and generous with their portions. And our family loves the chow mein and especially and the orange chicken. We like the barbecue chicken and pork, too. Overall, the food is fresh and good quality for the cost. Would definitely recommend for a casual night in or those nights you just don't wanna cook. read more

Open at 11am, I know I can quickly head over, grab lunch, and get back to work within 15 minutes. My order is usually the same every time - Rice Noodles, Lemon Chicken, and BBQ Pork! They have a free combo punch card, buy 9 combos and get a Free 2 item combo on your next visit. 2 more punches and HELLO free Lemon Chicken and BBQ Pork!!! The rice was very dry and the noodles undercooked. They no longer have lemon chicken but even worse....(did I mention it wasn't good?) The chicken in the Kung Pao chicken tasted like an ashtray, that's the only way to describe it. So I tried the mushroom chicken and same thing. This place is located inside Bashas. Its pretty tasty & delish. Its a nice break from its competitor with (the black & white bear) Drawback..they close fairly early. Most of the time the food is fresh..now & then you can tell they have let that sit for awhile. Lemon chicken is so darn good. Actually all the chicken dishes are good, orange & sesame too. Enjoy this place in our neighborhood. There is a little dining area near the bakery to eat your food. Its nice with tables & chairs, a large TV & comfy couch/ chairs too. read more

Awful, awful, awful--wish I could give zero. Just tried to have lunch from this place and am regretting. Used to be good, their lemon chicken was the best. Now I don't know what has happened. The side of rice noodles used to be great, now they pretend angel hair pasta is made from rice...no, it's just pasta. It's ghetto. Not fabulous. Certainly not ghetto fabulous. I've been here a couple times, but a heads up...it is the Chinese joint inside Basha's. Think of this as a Panda Express type establishment. Same concept. Start with either rice or noodles, and get a couple heaping scoops of some sort of chicken, beef or shrimp dish. It's not the worst place in the world, but certainly not the best. I find the food to be less greasy than a Panda. Thank God. Also, they tend to bring in a couple of random dishes from time to time. I once had the glass noodles, it was quite good. Again, this isn't the best or worst place in the world. If you happen to be in the area and feel Asian for some reason, this is an ok choice. read more

The worst Chinese food I've ever had in my life. Orange chicken was the texture or mush, beef and broccoli was all broccoli with 2 pieces of beef, mushroom chicken tastes like poison. Only edible thing was the egg drop soup. You're better off at Panda Express. read more

Being that Old Town struggles with Chinese food we opted for a try at this spot. It certainly is easy to get in as it is just a little shop near the entrance/exit. We went with fried rice, noodles, orange chicken and both kinds of beef. It deserves the 3 out of 5 stars. Decent priced, decent food, winning on speed and being easy. read more

Hello, We had just visited old town $$$$cottsdale, AZ for souvenirs. It was 97 degrees F. We were craving good inexpensive take out. My Garmin pointed out Rice Garden 8035 East Indian School Road Scottsdale, AZ 85251-2617 (480) 990-8801. I called and they gave me a list of entrees. I then inquired about price. They serve food with single, 2 and 3 combos. The 3 combos for less than $8.00. We drove to the address and found Basha's supermarket. I called and they stated that they were inside the supermarket. We entered the left entrance and turned right. They had the usual faire of Kungpow chicken, beef and brochili, fried rice, egg rolls, hot and sour soup, egg drop soup and chow mein noodles. We had the 3 combo with half/half rice and noodles, Kungpow chicken, Teriyaki chicken and BBQ pork and the 2 combo with fried rice, vegetable mix and spicy chicken mix with one large drink for less than $20.00. We drove back to our hotel and ate. The food was delicious. I will definitely return. Note: the prices are very, very low. Quality is excellent. Cheap is a poor description. It's kind of odd that a Chinese place in Bashas is worth writing a review about...but I have to say, it is delicious. I haven't had any Chinese food around here that I've really loved but one day I had a coupon for this place and decided to check it out. It's dirt cheap- with or without a coupon, and you get a TON of food. I think it's something like 6 bucks for 2 entrees and fried rice. Also, you will be in and out of Bashas in under 5 minutes. Seriously, they are really fast. Orange chicken is the bomb. Be prepared for leftovers or plan on getting this when you really wanna pig out. read more

HELLO GROCERY STORE CHINESE PLACE!! OK, so this sounds weird, right? I thought it was strange when I saw the mini-restaurant inside Basha's. Normally you see an overused Subway or McDonalds, or at least back in North Carolina that is completely expected. A Chinese place would be next door in the shopping mall, but not in the grocery store. WASSSSUP BASHA'S!! You have created a masterpiece. Fresh Chinese with Chinese workers, yea, I'd say it's fabulous. I could have eaten an entire plate of rice alone. It was that good. I also ordered the orange chicken and the spicy chicken (general tsao's), which were exceptionally good too. If you like Chinese food and if you enjoy saving money, I highly suggest Rice Garden.
