[[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside and outside were very cozy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The workers their are very attentive to their customers. The edamame and sampler was enough for 2 people on date or hanging out.

Rice N Roll has been hit or miss for me lately. I recently ordered Chicken Pad Thai and Beef fried rice and I really did not like the beef, it was chewy and I didn't eat it.

I highly recommend the lunch special at rice n roll! For $15 you can pick two rolls from a select list and pick a soup or salad starter. Everything tasted so fresh and delicious. Our server was quick and friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I also appreciated the murals that were new from the last time I visited.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

One of my top 5 favorite restaurants in Milwaukee, with a fusion of Asian flavors: Thai, Japanese, etc. my go-to dish is the Duck Curry, and the Green salad is an great compliment because the Ginger dressing is sublime. On the weekends, they had a great sashimi platter, as well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is cute and I love the paintings around the restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Always packed, so get there early at 4:30pm when they open.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Rice N Roll is our favorite sushi spot in Milwaukee so far. Every roll was a hit! My favorite was probably the shrimp tempura (lame I know) but it was so flavorful and the eel sauce on it was perfect. David's favorite was the Dragon followed by the Clumsy Bueno. His least favorite was the crunchy California because he wasn't the biggest fan of how the outside was warm and inside was a little mushy. However, I really enjoyed it!! Overall, we really enjoyed Rice N Roll and will definitely be back the next time we are craving sushi! We left completely stuffed.

My friend and I decided to try Rice N Roll for a recent lunch outing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is fairly small, but they do offer outdoor seating in the summer.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was attentive. I think our server was in training or training someone else, but it didn't affect anything. We'd eaten at Kin by Rice N Roll in the past and really enjoyed the food. Rice N Roll to me was not quite as good or as on point. My salad was served in a small, high bowl and it was really hard to eat. The cucumber slices in it were enormous and with no knife, awkward. My sushi was good overall, but my futomaki roll wasn't rolled tight enough, which made it fall apart and again, hard to eat. My friend enjoyed her bento box, which she had with chicken pad thai. The amount of food was generous and she even had leftovers. I will certainly be back to try the main menu.

The teriyaki chicken is always so fulfilling with the vegetables and rice. The eggrolls were tasty too. Perfect crunch and the center was not mushy. I loveddddd the edamame. I was my first time having it and I will eat it for the rest of my life. It tastes like a french fry with all the salt but it's a fresh pop of green. I might even try the spicy version next time. The server brought full water cups at the beginning and left us the water so we could pour it ourselves. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The music made me feel like going to the club hangover a Saturday morning LOL[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Have enjoyed everything I have tried here! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Place is a little smaller on the inside but well worth any wait.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Employees are friendly and food is delicious!

Not only is the interesting melding of Japanese and Thai cuisine done MOST EXCELLENTLY [[HIGHLIGHT]]the room is modern, clean and well appointed[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. The service is also friendly and efficient. We've been enjoying eating here for 10 years and it's been amazing every single time.

    Pad Thai
    Nic D.

Ordered a variety of food with some friends for takeaway. I cannot speak to the establishment itself, but the carry out process was smooth and quick. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is on the smaller side and was a bit crowded when we picked up our food on a week night.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are a couple tables outside when the weather is nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered pad Thai, a green salad with ginger dressing, a classy Cali roll, mantou, rice and roll dumplings, pad see eiw, and green curry. A small feast. The pad Thai was disappointing and the classy Cali roll was mediocre, but everything else was delicious! We all thought the curry was interesting and we couldn't get enough, the mantou and dumplings were large servings and so tasty.

Absolutely fantastic, not just Sushi, but so much more than that, service, wait time and letting us lounge and relax and not feel rushed, can't wait to come back!

This place was incredible! The restaurant was small with limited seating, which I did read from other yelp reviews, so we arrived right as they opened and were able to sit down immediately. Within 20-30 minutes, the rest of the tables were filled on a Saturday night. We ordered edamame and the Flaming Tuna Crispy Rice appetizer. The Crispy rice is a fried block of rice with tuna and different sauces on top. The flavors were so delicious! Definitely recommend for something a little different. We also ordered 4 rolls - a spicy salmon, the Munchie Munchie, the Sexy Summer, and the Awesome roll. Everything was great. Not surprisingly, the spicy salmon was our least favorite, but it was also the most basic. I love it when sushi melds different flavors together and this restaurant really nailed it. I would definitely go back here!

Great lunch special which was $14. I opted for the BYO Sushi. I started with the miso soup. Then I had the California and Boston roll. Our server and hostess were nice. I went on. Friday afternoon and it was the perfect time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Rice N' Roll is small and has limited seating, therefore keep in mind when you're deciding to visit![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

It's chic, modern, and stylish. Their specialty cocktail menu didn't have anything that tempted me so I went with my standard Manhattan. It was pitch perfect. In addition to the royal flower dumplings for our starter, we also enjoyed an order of their crab rangoon, which were also elevated and delightful. For my main, i got the Room Service pad thai which was everything you want pad thai to be. For a dessert, my dining companion and I shared some sort of mango dessert that was seriously out of this world--not too sweet, with a full fresh mango. Service was adequate (not the best but not the worst) and the prices are high but with the inventive menu and elevated atmosphere, to be expected. Get to it!

Ok, so, I kinda loved my experience at Lucky Ginger from beginning to end…read more Myself and my dining companion dropped by without reservations and were able to get a spot at the bar. That said, I'd likely get reservations were I to stop by again. They're a bustling little spot and saw several groups who weren't able to get a table without reservations while we were there. Where we sat at the bar, we were able to see the kitchen and our food (and others) begin prepared which was fun to see (and also nice from a transparency standpoint). Let me tell you--they are hustling in that kitchen! I began with a berry smash whiskey cocktail which was refreshing and fantastic. For my dinner, I got the bbq salmon which came with a salad to start and rice and asparagus on the side. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The only small note I had was I would have loved more asparagus but honestly, I could probably ask for a side of that next time to amp up the veggies. The service was lovely and the prices were reasonable. Get to it!

But luckily my husband quickly checked well before we were served and saw there were reservations available online, so he booked us one on the spot. We were then given two excuses, one by the bartender and a different one by the host as to why they couldn't honor the reservation: (1) there were no tables available for us (note the place was half empty, but we supposed maybe there were lots of reservations coming later--nope, the place was still half full by the time we left); (2) we had to make the reservations 30-40 minutes in advance and we didn't do that so even though we did have a reservation, they couldn't honor it because we made it too soon to the reservation time (WOW--complete BS). We were peeved but decided we should just enjoy our dinner. BUT as we were finishing up, about 5 couples came in WITHOUT a reservation and both the host and the bartender gave each couple the option to either sit at the bar or at a table. When I confronted the bartender about it, she claimed "they weren't supposed to do that." WHAT?! She literally just offered a couple a table without a reservation. What do you mean?! It was insulting. Anyway, we will absolutely NEVER come back here. The tip we left was solely for the kitchen staff who were hard at work and doing an honest job. Bartender and hosts are discriminatory and awful. Do NOT recommend if you are looking to be treated with respect. Would give zero stars if that were an option.

I completely agree that this isn't authentic chinese food, but approachable fusion that tries to keep it truthful to the flavors and presentation. The highlight of the meal was the peking duck, which they only have about 2 orders of a night. We snagged it immediately when we sat down and it can easily feed 4 people with the sides. The duck was juicy and cut into thick pieces, so it was more of a steak rather than a bao style that I am used to. Nevertheless, it was delicious and even warmed up well the next day. The green onion wraps were...strange in my opinion. They fell apart easily and didn't have the best flavor that complemented the duck. Overall, I would come back for the duck itself, but everything else was average or extra salty. Service was great and the staff are very attentive. Happy eating!

The vibe: It was packed at 7:15 PM on a Sunday, and they held firmly to our reservation time--which is understandable given the crowd. We took a nice stroll while waiting, so no harm done. Once seated, the service was excellent--attentive, prompt, and professional. The food: This is clearly high-end Americanized Chinese food, not authentic regional cuisine. If you go in expecting that, you'll have a better experience. The menu reads like a "greatest hits" collection--familiar dishes done with nicer ingredients and presentation. What worked well: Smashed Cucumber - A strong start. The cilantro and bean sprouts were exceptionally fresh, and the peanut finish added nice depth, though the sauce leaned a bit salty for my taste. Service and atmosphere - polished and efficient. What fell short for me: Wonton Soup - The wrappers were thicker than I prefer; I like a more delicate, translucent skin. The leek-based broth was pleasant, though. Salt & Pepper Cod - The seasoning was good, but the cod pieces were too thick, so the center remained bland. Halving the thickness would improve the texture. Mongolian Beef - Tender meat, but I wanted thicker cuts and larger onion pieces for more bite. It leaned a bit soggy for my preference. Rice Cake with Pork Belly - Pork belly was well-executed, but too many rice cakes overwhelmed the dish. The flavor leaned Korean (almost kimchi-like), which felt like a departure from the rest of the menu. Beef Chow Fun - Felt repetitive, using the same thin-sliced beef and bean sprouts as other dishes. I'd prefer charred broad rice noodlesthat are thin. These rice sticks were wide and thick,so like the cod, the center of the rice sticks were bland. I also preferred more eggs in this dish for variety. The overall pattern: Many dishes share similar ingredients and sauce profiles, which makes sense for a busy kitchen but does reduce variety across the meal. Bottom line: If you're looking for authentic, nuanced Chinese cooking, this probably isn't your spot. But if you want a polished, upscale version of familiar Chinese-American favorites in a great location, with reliable service, Dan Dan delivers that well. I personally wouldn't return, but I can see why it's popular--especially for the crowd that wants comfort food in a nicer setting.
