Dinner at Ricks last night was an odyssey....you can't beat their entrees; great steaks and chops as well as sides and homemade bread but our dinner entrees took a little under an hour to arrive. This just ruins the restaurant experience. Plenty of servers but the kitchen either needs to improve or decrease the seatings. The bar tenders were pros; top notch wine choices as well. So close to a five star experience. You know you're in for a good meal if they put edible flowers in their cocktails. I had to try Rick's when I saw the blueberry lilac martini in other reviews because I like lavender and it's rare to see a cocktail with lavender liquor that isn't gin-based. It tastes as good as it looks, and as others mention, they don't skimp on the stoli blueberry. We arrived a little bit before dinner service, but they were able to seat us. Our server was also great. Based on service alone, it's a five star experience. The bread is excellent, and it's served with this yummy garlic butter. One son had the chicken tenders and fries. He said the fries were "as good as McDonalds" which was meant as high praise from him, but mortified my husband, who felt that sold them short. I'd qualify it by saying their fries are to fine dining what McDonalds fries are to fast food. The other son had pasta with red sauce. I had a lobster macaroni that put all other lobster macaronis to shame. You can't tell from the picture but it had a lot of thick meaty pieces of lobster. The pieces of bacon were somewhere in between bacon and pork belly in thickness. Most lobster macaronis have a less appetizing layer of overcooked cheese on top, but their sauce is rich and creamy. My husband enjoyed the sides with his ribeye, but the ribeye itself was disappointing. It was cooked medium rare to order, and the garlic butter and seasoning were great, but the cut of meat did not measure up to the rest of the meal. Enjoyed a nice dinner here with a few friends. Service was great, our waiter checked on us multiple times, and always ensured our waters were refilled. Everyone we interacted with was very courteous. Food: The bread rolls were served warm with a seasoned butter. The entrees are filling but do not come with a starter. I ordered the halibut special which was about a 5oz piece of fish, on top of risotto and veggies with a tomato sauce, it was very good! Most entrees run about $30-$40. We had the chance to visit East Aurora July 2023 and enjoyed an excellent lunch outside on Rick's On Main's front porch with Abbey as our server. A fantastic lunch experience started off with the front host ambassador (a young lady with longer blonde hair and a great smile with an even more pleasant attitude!). She was very welcoming and took my name and number to call us when a front porch table became available. Then we had the great chance to have Abbey as our server. She is very pleasant and efficient. We never wanted for anything service-wise and when asked for her recommendation between two salads she made a great case for both yet explained the differences enough to hit my palate just right! The kitchen staff is putting out amazing food. The flavor of my chicken and artichoke salad was exceptional while my husband thoroughly enjoyed his haddock sandwich and accompanying tomato & mozzarella salad. It's great that Rick's On Main offers a wide array of sides with no upcharge. Guests appreciate that not always do we want (or need!) another order of fries and they make it easy to choose another option. Great options for outdoor dining, a cozy bar atmosphere inside, and plenty of comfortable indoor dining available as well. My husband and I went here with friends of ours for a Saturday night dinner! It was my first time going to Rick's on Main and I was throughly impressed! The atmosphere is very romantic, and inviting with candles on each time and dim lighting! We started with this very nice, smooth bodied Italian red wine which was really good! I typically don't like red wine as it's typically too dry for me, but this had just a touch of sweetness and smooth finish! I ordered the pork chop and it was so juicy and cooked to perfection! It wasn't dry at all! It was topped with a delicious spread crispy prosciutto and melted cheese topped with a Demi glaze sauce! It was by far the best pork chop I've ever had. The service was excellent, and the wait staff was not overbearing! We were having a great time chatting it up that he gave us space to have a good time and didn't want to overcrowd or pressure us to make a decision quickly! They also were very professional, standing by to make sure the wine was of our liking before walking away! The food took a little bit to come out, but in my opinion I feel that's a good thing; having the chef take their time making sure presentation looked as good as the dish tasted! I highly recommend checking out ricks on main if you want a little fancy night out on the town! Also, they have igloos you can dine in during the winter months which is a cool little experience to brighten up buffalos cold winter months! Excellent dinner in a great restaurant. Enjoyed an 8oz lobster tail stuffed with crab and served over risotto and aspargus and my wife loved her filet mignon. We were sat upstairs and found the room to be very spacious and elegant! I ordered the Fra Diavolo with the shrimp and scallops and found it to be very good! Went with friends on a nice warm spring evening. We sat inside, nice atmosphere. We enjoy the first course of salads and the hot pepper dip which was amazing. I got the garlic and herb streak with fried onion straws, mashed potato and broccoli. I ordered my steak medium rare and my husband got the Gorgonzola Steak medium. When we received the steaks mine was cooked medium and my husbands was medium rare. Still very tasty, but would have preferred to get it as ordered at $40 something a plate. Wine was good the atmosphere nice. When the check came my friend pulled out a $75 gift certificate, without really looking at it. The waitress states : "we don't take those anymore" something about the owners changing hands and they no longer honoring it. The GC had the same logo as the menu and it was disheartening. Was very pleased with my anniversary dinner here. It was highly recommended by some friends and was everything I expected. Firstly, I got a blueberry lilac martini and it was stunningly beautiful. I couldn't stop taking pictures of it and it tasted as good as it looked. They start you off with complementary bread and butter. The butter has a strong garlic taste that was delicious. I could eat it with a spoon if it wasn't for like...blocking arteries and stuff. My husband and I were both happy with our steak dishes. His filet mignon was so tender it just melted in your mouth. My steak was cooked perfectly and I LOVED the brussel sprouts that came with it. Came in (with a reservation, we recommend) on a Tuesday afternoon for lunch, during the holidays season. The space is so cozy, cute and decorated for the holidays. My mother got a Bloody Mary she really liked, not too wild with garnishes, pretty classic. We shared a small plate of scallop toastados and a special salmon BLT with sweet potato fries. Went to Rick's on Main for my birthday dinner. We originally had a high top table that Open Table offered (only table). Called and asked for a regular table. They were initially a bit loud but quieted after a bit. We chose a really nice Stag's Leap Napa merlot at $56, not bad for a high end restaurant. Justin, our awesome server, brought three crusty rolls and whipped butter. Was nice cuz guys usually eat two, or maybe just my guy! We started with a special app of scallops. Just two, but nice because I hate filling up before my meal. They had a pesto nut sauce on them. If they offer these, get them! Effing delicious! Beautifully seared and done perfectly. Our dinners were Chilean sea bass and the 6 Oz. filet. The sea bass was as good as any I had in Las Vegas where I used to order it all the time before it got fished out. I lived there for 8 years and had some of the best food I've ever eaten. That's why I'm comparing. It was crisp on the outside and melt in your mouth buttery on the inside. If you've not eaten this fish, you need to. The filet was equally delicious. Done perfectly and super tasty. We ate every dang crumb on our plates. The sauces on the fish and scallops were really good. Ended our meal with vanilla crème brûlée. One of the best brûlée's as well and a dessert I've had a lot of, so yes, I consider myself a connoisseur. This meal was worth every penny. read more

This place has been on my must visit list for years now! My father and I ended up dining there yesterday for our birthday celebration for lunch (where the menu is much more affordable.) This place is right across the street from Vidler's in the village of East Aurora , and has a cozy yet upscale ambience. Our server (Barbara or Babbs for short) was bubbly and fun yet efficient. We ordered a Banana Pepper burger with Sweet potato fries and a Turkey Club with Manhattan Clam Chowder . Everything was fresh , a nice portion and delicious . My burger was cooked to a perfect medium and the sweet potato fries were nice and crispy . My father said the Turkey club might have been the best he ever had. A wonderful place to dine inside or out on one of the tiered patios. Our service was very good. The setting is very relaxed as there was no rush to clear the tables and a friendly conversation could be had at the table. The food is a bit pricey, but salad portions are large ( especially for lunch). There are separate dining areas that are dark and elegant inside, along with a long bar area that you can walk thru to get to the patio levels. Note that the entrance is on the side street (Temple Place) and street parking is available. Parking lots are nearby across Main St. (behind Vidlers). The steak hoagie was tender and sweet potatoes fries were crisp but served plain (no honey / cin. butter ).We had a nice afternoon on the patio under an umbrella enjoying fresh air and flowers. read more

This place HITS. I came here for dinner yesterday with my partner and because the weather has been so beautiful, I thought it would be really difficult to get a table on the front porch. Wrong! When I called, the man on the phone was so helpful, nice, and so willing to work with us. We ended up with a reservation for 8pm that night. We started with the stuffed banana peppers. They were absolutely delicious. I didn't love how many seeds there were as we got to the base of the pepper, but these were so good I didn't even mind. We also had to get some cocktails, our server recommended the cucumber martini for me, and the blackberry manhattan for my partner. They were extremely boozy, but I love that in a dinner cocktail so I'm not complaining. We wanted to go lighter for our seconds so I got the ricks sangria (omg so good) and he got the aperol spritz, both were also very very good! My partner and I fought over who could order the herb and garlic ribeye (I won) and it was to DIE for. It was cooked to a perfect medium rare, the horseradish mashed actually had a strong horseradish flavor which I love, and the broccolini was HUGE! It was delicious!! He got the molasses cowboy steak, and it was equally as good. He told me it was a bit too BBQ for him, but I thought it tasted exactly as described and the croquets it came with.... let's just say he definitely did not have any of those leftover. We finished with creme brûlée, and oh my god. It was the perfect ending to a perfect meal. The service was phenomenal, our server was fast, attentive but not overbearing, and was so so nice. Be prepared to pay when you come here, it's upscale food, but oh my stars is it worth it. We will definitely be returning. read more

I've heard lots about Rick's On Main and I was lucky enough to eat there as an early Mother's Day dinner to celebrate my mom! The restaurant itself is much bigger than I expected - they have a second floor and in the warmer weather they have patio space too. Our server was very kind and attentive during our visit. We were given a bread basket to start, which of course I loved as I'm a die-hard carb fan. My brother ordered the seafood sampler as an appetizer. I tried a bite of the crab cake and the fried scallop and when I say they were both out of this world, I'm not kidding. I ordered the puttanesca pasta with chicken strips. It was delicious and the portion was huge! It had a nice Mediterranean flavor and the feta cheese on top was great. Everyone else was very happy with their choices; my mom got the pork chop special and was so wowed! All in all, Rick's was a great experience. This was my 1st time at Ricks'. Very nice atmosphere. Love the soundtrack. People watching was good as well. Started with the seafood appetizer. Bacon wrapped shrimp cooked perfectly. Just a hint of char on the bacon and still plenty of snap in the shrimp. The pair were set in a semi-sweet Asian bbq sauce. Delicious. Then there were 2 breaded scallops with just the right amount of crunch and good flavor on breading while being pure scallop tenderness inside. The mini crab cakes were outstanding. Very dry and crunchy outside with moist seafood hid inside. This was also sitting in an interesting cream sauce with capers. For dinner my wife had a delicious pasta and I had the 20 oz strip steak special with mashed potatoes Andrea asparagus. Potatoes were buttery and soft and the asparagus was slightly salty and perfectly cooked. My steak was tasty yet far from cooked perfectly. I ordered medium and received rare. I ate it because I was hoping it was just a spot but it was under done. I'm ok with it but did not love it. We had tiramisu for dessert that was delicious and a cassata cake that was good. Wow!! Incredible food. We started with a Gotti bottle of Cabernet, which was very delicious. Both of us ordered the chopped salad, which was huge! Very flavorful and cold. A nice salad. I ordered the lobster pasta, which was amazing. Lots of claw meat, which was exactly what I was hoping for. My boyfriend ordered the Wagyu special and thoroughly enjoyed his meal. Service was impeccable and the dining room was romantic and dim lit which made it a nice date night. We will 100% be returning. Nothing too special but a reliable side. Maple glazed Cowboy ribeye, a little sweeter than expected, large large serving, cooked perfectly. Potato croquettes were cheesy and crispy. Creme Brûlée was tasty but the texture more pudding like than custard. I am sure it's hard to tell during the rona how many you need so maybe it just need a little more time to set. This place is amazing! First time here. And it started with the complimentary valet parking. That's appreciated seeing I'm not from the area and don't really know where to park. Now to the food.
