Best part about this restaurant is boat access. We were able to dock the boat and come right up to the restaurant- it's super convenient. We had a great afternoon sitting in the outdoor area. Our waitress was prompt and friendly and the food was simple yet fresh and delicious. read more

Such a nice, relaxing place on the river in of course one of the most dangerous neighborhoods of Tampa! The food is good beach bar food. Burgers, tacos and of course BEER SPECIALS! Went for lunch on a sunday and the place was swamped. Always a great sign early in boating season. Had a delicious burger while my friends raved about the spicy chicken sandwich and the blackened fish sandwich. I would recommend the fish! I've been coming here for years. The atmosphere, the food, the drinks are all excellent. Being right on the water, it's a great place to come after being on the water all day and grab a bite to eat. It's also very biker friendly for those that ride all day and want to stop for a bite to eat. Outside music is always fun especially if you feel like being a a "solid gold dancer ". My first experience at ricks was good (Mother's Day 2017). However I cannot say my experience this Christmas break (12.26.17) was pleasant. It was my little sisters engagement night and before her boyfriend proposed on the river walk we were going to have oysters with the family, and learned they were out of oysters. As a manager also in the hospitality industry that is unacceptable to me, but tolerable. What was intolerable was that they were also out of deviled crab and our waitress Mary was average. While I know it is not her fault at all, there was no sympathy and she did not check on us during our meal. Each time I wanted another drink I had to flag her down. Ricks has so much potential and I really am a disappointed local customer. read more

More like 2.5 stars, but I always round up. It's on the river, but there's a parking lot between the outdoor seating and the water, so for Florida, that's not really a restaurant on the water. Started out with the deviled crab and popcorn shrimp. It was meh, though I've never has deviled crab before, so I just might not be a fantastic of that. I had coconut shrimp basket with fries, which was also just okay. The service was friendly though. Nothing really special. The good thing about Rick's is that they're cheap. The ambiance is kind of like a bar type kind of place. Low lit with tvs on sports and a big bar in the middle of the restaurant. They don't have specials, like a certain kind of special sandwich or appetizer. A lot of the things you can find on their menu, you can find elsewhere too and probably taste better. But it's okay for cheap food. I ordered 10 wings for 8.99 and it was okay. Then got a grouper sandwich which tasted fine. Again, nothing out of the ordinary. Some of the staff are friendly and some are... A bit off. Not a place I'd go back to. read more

Extremely casual boat bar on the river. Raw oysters were good but you cannot order Bluepoint or anything, just the one type they offer. Shrimp po boy was OK and they have a full bar. Live music every day! Service was good and the folks are friendly. My daughter disliked the ambiance, but that 's just the type of place it is. Fun for large groups on the patio. They serve plastic outside but glass inside. So if you really want that martini, go in for it. read more

I don't even know where to start. There were a hundred people working their butts off and accomplishing very little. They have blue and red signs on all of the tables so you can indicate when service is needed. 2/3rds of the tables were showing red (wanting service) when we walked in. We switch ours to red and waited for a long time before we moved to the outdoor bar. We moved to the indoor bar after waiting another obscene amount of time. Inside we did get one drink but also wanted to order food and never got a second chance. This all happened after the busy dinner rush after 9pm. The bathroom had two competing smells, urine and some citrus spay. Both were overwhelming but the urine won. I don't think I've ever written a bad review on Yelp but decided to to try and help others avoid a damper on their Vaca. I actually signed into Yelp while still at Rick's to find another nearby place to eat. One positive was the staff was very nice and friendly, from what I could tell from a distance. read more

If you haven't been here, the you haven't been to Tampa. Rick's is the place to go on a Saturday afternoon when you don't feel like cooking, or doing anything for that matter. It is the perfect place to sit outside, enjoy an ice-cold pitcher of beer, and some pretty good seafood. The oysters are always fresh. The green mussels are absolutely delicious. The wings are spot on. The live music is never too loud and sets the right mood for the place. And the people watching is top notch. Everybody goes here-from your suited up yuppies, to your hard core bikers.... From your sunburned boaters, to your after church crowd still in their Sunday's best. It is one of my favorite places to waste away an afternoon. read more

We're "snowbirds" from New England. We don't go to the usual, quieter "older" places older snowbirds would go to as we're younger than most of them and when we're in Tampa we frequent Rick's. We love this place. It's very casual and laid back and it's right on the water-incredible views. The food won't win any awards but its not bad either. It's a really comfortable place with a typical pub style menu and the prices are low. Try the Cajun seasoned fries! They're not too spicy and they ARE addicting! Rick's is a great place to sit and relax and take in the beautiful marina views. The people are always nice too. Never had a bad experience there. Definitely worth checking it out if you've never been. We've never been at night, but I have a feeling it's a blast. Live music, I'm told. Add that to the atmosphere and it's probably a blast. read more

I saw some bad reviews and I think that there are some issues with expectation management. This is a bar and they serve bar food. If you are expecting something else, you are going in with the right mind set. That being said, the bar food was very good. We had the littleneck clams, the cheese fries, the deviled crab, and the oysters rick-efeller. All of it was very good. The waitress was nice and attentive and helped us out with our daughter. Took advice on fish sandwich. Ordered black in and very good. Thought the crowd was well next and enjoyed all the different types of people. Very relaxed prices awesome. Friend even told me you can paddleboard on the river. Also enjoyed drive down totally different part of town I had never seen. I've been coming here with my family for years and its always been great. The service is wonderful, it has a great atmosphere and a nice view of the river. They have live music daily, and also happy hour from 11-7 Monday through Friday. We always get the platter that include wings, mozzarella sticks, potatoe skins, and jalapeno poppers. For my main course I ordered the Philly with onion rings, which was very good. My boyfriend ordered the oyster po boy and he said it was awesome (this was his first time here and he said he would definitely be back.) I'm not a fan of oysters but did try a piece and I even thought it was good. I will for sure continue coming to this place. Never disappointed. read more

This place is a dump but if you have a boat and your cruising down the river I guess it could be cool. They have boat slips for you to dock but charge you $10if you want to drop in your boat which is lame cuz you can drop it in near Lowry Park for free. My husband and I decided to give give Ricks a try especially since we have been in quarantine for so long. Went around 5pm on a Thursday. Sat on the high deck at the bar. We waited for 12 minutes to be offered a beverage and to scan the App to see the menu. At that time the sever Lisa Marie C. to go talk to her friends give hugs and small talk laughs. Completely unprofessional. I get having regulars but jeez acknowledge new customers this is how owners fail at paying there income for there business due to poor staff members. Anyway we finally got our beverage then she left didn't take our order. We waited for 19 minutes so my husband went up to her and asked if he could his order for a dozen of oysters and another drink since it was very hot outside. We decided to be smart and order another drink didn't know when she would be back. We then waited another 26 minutes to see that other customers to be severed and ordered anything additional. My husband went up to Lisa again asked if she remembered our order and how much longer for the drinks at that time. She then became extremely rude and walked away to talk to her friends make small talk. Moments after she walked over with our food basically dropped the trays and left we asked could we have our beverages or should we just cancel them since we was having a terrible time with no customer service. Sad thing we waited another 8 minutes for drinks. I never in my life experience such awful service and unprofessional behavior from a Server. I will never return to Ricks again, weird thing the oysters were great and view by the water. read more

This is my work's happy hour place. I love the location, right on the river, plenty of outdoor seating to catch the breeze on warm days. We almost always have the same amazing waitress on Friday nights, she is so friendly, knows us by name, knows our orders. It is a great place. The food is typical bar food (not my favorite) but they have good cheap drinks and great service. read more
