The Cruiser omelet with potatoes and sourdough toast. Magnificent!
    Corrine B.

9/2/2025 Update Still fantastic! We stuck with what we last ordered. I had The Cruiser, which is the best omelette I've ever had, and my husband had French Toast, potatoes, and sausage patties. Everything was excellent, served quickly and with great portions. This place is a gem. Also, I don't know what Rick's does for coffee, but it's easily my absolute favorite. Literally everywhere else, I always get a little "acidic stomach" feeling afterwards. Not at all with this coffee, it's that smooth. I highly recommend having a hearty breakfast at Rick's!

Rick's Restaurant 9-9-25 Stopped by for some breakfast. Place was mostly full of locals and some not so local. This place is not fancy, but it was clean and neat. Our waitress Amy was on the ball with our Coffee and food orders. We ordered the Fraser Valley Breakfast which consisted of 2 Eggs, Potato's choice of Meat and Toast. We both opted for Ham as the meat. Our food came out quick for as busy as they were. Our Eggs were done just like we ordered them, perfect. The Potato's and Ham were both good. The food and Coffee were hot, and all was good. I guess the locals know where to go for a reasonable priced food that's plentiful and good. They do have a couple tables outside in the front to eat at if you don't want to be inside. There is also a counter to sit at. Seemed like the waitress their knew everybody's name and treated us like one of the locals also. Amy checked on us a bunch of times to make sure we were well taking care of. They even had old school trivia questions on paper at the tables to keep you amused. The Salt and Pepper shakers were in the shape of a Semi Truck. I just loved this place and their food. I give this place 4 out of 5 stars. Follow Me On FB For More Reviews & Fun Gulf Coast Terry

We stopped in here the morning after a friends wedding in York Beach. What a quirky spot. I think our server was more hungover than us and the service was a bit off for that reason. The food was delicious and the restaurant smelled so inviting. I would return here if I'm back in the York area for breakfast again.

Super cool beach town breakfast spot. You get that quaint type of atmosphere and feel. I always enjoy lobster on my benedict whenever I'm near the ocean. Service was friendly! Check this place out when you're in York, ME.

The atmosphere was cozy but cool. The menu options were great the food was good but not great. Our waitress must have been having a bad morning as she had attitude when I had to ask questions or had to send back my egg whites (that I asked to be cooked well done but they were juicy when they arrived). We had to ask for more coffee even though she was back and forth to the tables around us. The Cape Neddick came with eggs, homefries or fruit cup (not the freshest) and pancakes. The potatoes (were more like lumpy mashed potato's) The pancakes were delicious. The bacon was asked to be crispy but chewy was the best that they came out. The coffee was meh and just 3 sips came out of my iced coffee due to all the crushed ice. Maybe the waitress needs to write down how we wanted food vs. memorizing it ‍. We might come back here again but...

This is one of the best classic breakfast places (where they mainly just serve diner food) I've ever been too! We got the corned beef hash Benedict and Cape Neddick. The blueberry pancakes and the corned beef hash Benedict were especially delicious. The pancakes were probably the best blueberry pancakes I've ever had - usually I have a problem with them still being raw around the berries, but it wasn't the case here. The low was that there was no host upon arrival, so we just stood around until someone finally attended to us. Being that the food was so good, I wouldn't penalize this place for it. There was enough seating for us to get a spot pretty quickly on a holiday.

Hi to my friend we are at her house
    Josh H.

So I came here with my 3 buddies and this girl. It is kind of complicated with this girl I tried to throw some vibes out but then she threw some vibes my way and then my buddy threw vibes her way and that's when we started eating. My new buddy said this about the food "and if you go down there you better be aware" I am not sure what that means, but I got the salmon eggs Benedict and it was awesome and my friend thinks this is the best breakfast burrito he has had in a while. We ate at the girls house (yes I know) and she has two dogs. Sometimes I feel like a junkyard dog but in a cool way. Like I am a bad guy. But not mean, but I can win a fight. Don't try and mess with me or I will take care of business.

Visiting in the area and Yelpers gave good reviews. Stopped in for breakfast and, yes, the coffee was very good. I got the Fraser Valley breakfast with toasted sourdough bread and poached eggs. Was served to perfection. Friendly staff in a comfortable setting- a spot that's also popular with the locals.

We arrived in Maine for our yearly trek and while driving in to town we noticed Rick's (formally Rick's of the village) moved to a new place formally Nanci's Restaurant and Catering. Oh DH we just have to try this place while we are here on vacation. We arrived with a jam packed parking lot thinking we would have to wait a long time but as breakfast goes most times breakfast eaters are in and out. After 15 minutes we got a table. The place has been refreshingly painted and simply decorated the waitress Jessa was very nice and served us as soon as we were seated. Breakfast was ordered and served promptly and efficiently and with delight very tasteful. We will surely come here again on our return to York next year.

Avocado toast with fruits and blackberries pancakes, and coffee of course.

This place is absolutely amazing, the food it's so tasty and the owner is so nice. Come to this place and try their menu. Their ambience makes you fell at home!

In search of a restaurant serving a mouth-watering breakfast/lunch at an affordable price? Rick's Bluejay Cafe is the perfect choice. Its unique atmosphere, featuring two dining areas and a counter bar, creates a memorable dining experience. The diverse menu offers reasonably priced options, all freshly prepared, ensuring a satisfying meal. Service was exceptional. We stopped there for a late breakfast/early lunch and were not disappointed. Rick's Bluejay Cafe is a hidden gem among the numerous breakfast spots in the area.

It even came garnished with a graham cracker, Hershey's chocolate, and Marshmallow. Gave it a fantastic stand out look. The taste was just as good and my wife loved her drink too! One of the best meals we have had in York. The fresh asparagus with crab sauce was wonderful, as was the fried cheese with an asiago cream sauce. Both a must try from the starter menu. Dinners were the short rib served over cheddar mashed. Replaced the spinach option with the potato and so glad we did. So good. The other entree was the roasted duck with XO sauce. Cooked perfectly and with a crispy skin. Served over fried rice served on a bed of the sauce and yogurt. Perfect compliment. Our entire bill for 2 cocktails, 2 starters, and 2 entrees came to $117 before tax and tip. You cannot find this quality food for that price anywhere else. Service was also excellent. There was constant attention without being overwhelming. Our server Courtney was on the mark. The service from others for water refills, to food delivery, and attention to detail was a very high level of care. All was perfectly choreographed for a full dinning room . So unusual to see such great front of house training for service. Dining room was lively and very cozy. Beautiful fireplace with seating for cocktails. It was a quiet evening but relaxing and our server was terrific and friendly. I had a local brew (The Lunch IPA, I think) and then my wife and I started off with a dozen oysters - which were a buck-a-shuck on this Tuesday! Great deal! The oysters were good, cold and mild. I had my lobster dinner and it was delicious. I added a cup of clam chowder which was also very nice. I only wish the sides - which were dinner rolls, corn kernels, and cole slaw - included a baked potato but oh well. My wife had their fried haddock taco salad and she said it was very good. We then shared a slice of excellent chocolate truffle cake - that and a couple of cups of hot strong coffee plus the tranquil view of the Piscataqua River outside - made for a lovely evening.

This place didn't look like much on the outside, but the inside was clean, neat and beautiful. Our waitress Morgan came and took our order as they were not that busy. I ordered a bowl of Clam Chowder and the Baked Haddock which consisted of Haddock topped with Cracker Crumbs, Sherry, Butter, and Lobster Cream Sauce served with Asparagus and Mashed Potato. I changed my Asparagus to Corn on the Cob. My wife ordered the same thing minus the Clam Clowder. It took a while for Morgan to bring out our Haddock meals, but I must tell you they looked amazing. First thing I asked Morgan did she forget our Clam Chowder and could we please get butter for our Corn. I did want the Clam Chowder first as an appetizer and butter should always go with Corn, but it was the last thing we got. These are simple mistakes that should not have happened if you're on the ball. I must be honest; the food was amazing. The Haddock flavor was out of this world. The Mashed were ok and the Corn was fine, but the star of the show was the Haddock for sure. I would have given this place a 5-star rating as their food was that good, but the service was not up to par. I must only give this place 4 stars.
