To top it off it's almost impossible to get anyone helpful on the phone so you always have to make the long drive out there to get lukewarm service. Stupid old school sales games. The managers who run the place probably fart dust. Guys this is not 1961. Wake up. Take the bronto burger out of your mouth and realize we know the price of things. The internet killed the hide and seek sales price games. I went in to buy a Metro for my daughter. I know its a small item for the sales guys. But if they dont like to sell them: they should not sell them. They wanted my drivers license and other credit information before they would even talk about price. i told them I was paying cash. I did not ask to do drive it. I was doing nothing but asking "How much does this cost?" The sales guy went away and did whatever old school car sales guys do when "I have to talk to a manager". (And they cant do ANYTHING without talking to a manager). Came back 15 minutes later. ( I love to just stand around for 15 minutes. ) He said the price. I told him that was too high. For the next three days I got calls from their sales people. I did not ask them too. They used the Drivers License information to track me down. I told them look: X Dollars including Tax, TIp and whatever BS fees they could come up with. But I was going to Write a check for $X and that was it. If they could do it fine. Else I was going elsewhere. For three days that did not sink in. I went else where and paid exactly $X. They still called me once even after I told them I purchased elsewhere. I had to be rude to them to leave me alone. read more

This dealership has deceptive pricing / sales practices. They had the motorcycle listed as being $3400.00 on http://www.cycletrader... (the add is still up over a month later). I called and confirmed the price with them, then went in and they raised the price to $3999.00 when I got to the store; they claimed the $3400.00 bike was "just sold" and the rest were $3999.00. Additionally, they tried to charge me over $1000.00 for freight and assembly, and added an $800.00 extended warranty without asking if I even wanted it or informing me of it. I was reading the pricing breakdown and questioned them on the warranty. They would not say it wasn't a factory warranty, which is deceptive. They said it was a "parts and labor warranty" but only admitted it was not a Yamaha warranty (it was their own warranty) when asked directly. The $3400.00 motorcycle I showed up to buy had a $5700+ pricetag when I sat down to sign the paperwork. I would not fall for their deceptive sales tactics, but it frustrates me that other people do fall for it and pay 6k for $4000 dollar bike. I ended up buying from them (because they were the only place with that model in stock) for $4000 out-the-door; I feel a customer shouldn't have to have them cut over $1700 in BS charges. The freight and assembly charges are not only heavily inflated, but these charges are already included in the MSRP from the manufacturer. If you have or are willing to pay for these costs two times, then you are a sucker. Additionally, if you tell them you won't pay for those charges, they will just take them off. It's just a game for them. If someone falls for it, then they just made an extra thousand bucks off of your ignorance. read more

Cheesy hard sell... once you get past that you run into the undisclosed extra fees (such as $50 documentary fee). Then to top it all off they go and register the damn 49cc scooter as a MOTORCYCLE rather than a MOPED, thus totally screwing up the insurance. Once realized, calls to them to get it fixed were not returned so WE ended up having to cough up the additional $30 for a new title application to get it fixed. read more

My boyfriend bought a motorcycle from Woods. With the purchase of the bike he also had them add a ferring, hard saddle bags and back seat for me. They didn't have any of the add on's there at the time of purchase and told him they would be in within 1 month. Well after he calls them, he finds out everything is in, we take it in and 1. then they want to Charge him for the install even though it was part of the purchase 2. They ordered the wrong color of saddle bags he ordered black what they got in was blue. (you would think they would have noticed that it didn't match the ferring). 3. Then when he got the bike back home I noticed a small gash on his gas tank (looks like they dropped a wrench on it installing the ferring). 4. He made 5 different calls about the gash and nothing, nada, not a word, then finally they said we'll look at it when you come back for the saddle bags. 6. Saddle bags finally come in and they once again try to Charge him for the install even though it was part of the purchase. The guy at the counter gives a sob story that it is coming out of his personal pocket to install it. 7. Then when he asks to talk about the gash on the gas tank they pull some guy out from the back who won't even look my boyfriend in the eye and says that gash was there prior to their install of the ferring and seat. They claim that they take before and after pictures of every bike before they do installs. So he requested to see the pictures...... and what do you know... No Pictures. Twice I've gone in to trade with estimates already given on bikes before they've been evaluated and twice I've been lowballed by $3k-$5k on trade values when talking numbers. To be offered $6500 online on a trade then only $2500 at the table without even seeing the bike... This is the most underhanded joke of a dealership I've ever experienced. I feel sorry for anyone who makes the mistake of working with this dealership. Only an idiot would take the deals they're offering when it comes to trade ins. I just bought a new Yamaha v star from wood's and had a great experience. My salesman, Daniel, was not at all pushy and in fact very helpful. Financing was relatively pain free and they've got a good amount of accessories to choose from also. They even called me a few days later to check up and see how i liked the bike. read more

This place is as crooked as a 3 dollar bill. STAY AWAY!!! Having recently move to Austin I'm trying to get familiar with the area my wife wanted some wave runners. So I looked up the brand that she wanted and Woods was one of the dealers. I thought great I'll go there. We went in one day just to kick some tires and check things out. The salesmen were helpful and all seemed good, so I decided to go back about a week later and buy a couple of toys. We negotiated the deal and while doing so the backroom money man came out and filled out some specifics on the contract, and I saw him write down model number that I questioned. I asked him point blank if that was the model that I wanted and he assured me it was. I inked the deal thinking all was done and everybody would be happy. To my surprise I watched the salesmen walk over to a floor model that I specifically told him I didn't want and start writing the hull number down. I asked him what he was doing and he said getting the information off the wave runner for the paper work. TIME OUT!!! I called their money man back out and asked him what was up. No answer and I told him he lied straight to my face when I asked him about the model he wrote down on the paper work. They tried to pull the old bait and switch on me, trying to give me the next model down at a price over that models particular msrp. Needless to say they had a signed contract by me and I told them to fly a kite and walked out without a word being said by them. Woods Fun Center Ethics = 0 stars. So went over to Sail&Ski and they were awesome!!! I ended up buying a Kawasaki 300x and a 300lx from SAIL&SKI. So bye bye WOODS RIPOFF CENTER I'll never step foot in one of your stores again, but I will send the salesmen a picture of my family on our new wave runners with my middle bird flying hi !!! PS. I feel its kinda my own fault because I forgot to look up their reviews on YELP and it speaks for itself. I dropped my bike off at Woods for servicing and asked them to keep the tires and exhaust. Since I was getting some temporary tires on it and the exhaust was an upg I wanted to resell the exhaust and keep the tires for future use. (they only had 1,000 miles on them). Seemed like a very reasonable request. When I went to pick-up the bike, after calling again, and again, and again, they said to talk to the tech about the parts. I asked him and he said "no one told me that, I got rid of everything, but you might still find the exhaust in the back garbage". He was "nice enough" to walk back there, and it was there. But I lost the tires. So I'd be very careful about using their service dept. But, they do have a good selection of bikes. read more

Seems to be a polarizing place after reading some of the reviews, people either love or hate this place. I would just say my first dealing was very unimpressive. I had been dealing with Lone Star BMW for 25 years and this was my first visit since they moved. Went in for an oil filter and to potentially look at a new bike after riding my current steed for 16 years. First impression, walked in the door to heavy metal music so loud I felt like I was at a keg party. The parts guy was cool and promptly got me what I needed and was pleasant enough. Cashier was also pleasant enough. Went over to look at new bikes when done. Looked for quite a while and sat on a couple of bikes and waited for a salesperson to come talk to me.......never happened. Also did not have the bike I am contemplating on the showroom floor. No idea if they are getting any in any time soon for me to test ride being that there were no salespeople on the floor. I stuck around as long as my eardrums could take it. I miss the professionalism of Lone Star. Think I will just order my parts online now and go to an independent for servicing. My husband bought a bike from woods about 4 months ago. He walked in not expecting to buy but he said they pulled his arm (which I highly doubt) to fill out a credit app. Well he got approved and spent 10 grand on a used bike. This is what he's been wanting for a really long time. Well a week later I notice that one of his lights is not working. He goes back to woods to let them know and they tell him that they will get him a bulb. 2 months later, they finally got this bulb in and tell him he had to pay $50. Um. . Why should we pay for something that was already broken when we purchased. We have been dealing with this issue for 4 months now and on top of that, they never even have the bike an oil change. Before purchasing her, really consider your options. They will sell you a bike and do whatever they can to not help you after they get their commission. read more

I am planning on buying a used R Nine T and simply wanted to run some concerns and questions by Dustin regarding the particular bike I was looking at. He was extremely thorough, kind, knowledgeable, and just overall incredible in regards to everything I was looking for in the conversation. I retired my old bike, and was in the market for a new (to me) one. After some online research, I narrowed it down to three, each at a different dealer. I'd heard that Woods had a reputation as being very expensive, and they were my third destination. If they'd been my first, I could've ended my search then and there. Dylan (my salesperson) was terrific! I've been around bikers my whole life, and have been riding, myself, for over 25 years, and I've never met anyone more knowledgeable about such a wide range of bikes than he. And Charles (sales manager) was on top of everything, making the sale as smoothe as possible, without any additional hard sell. I'm now in love with my 'new' 2008 Kawasaki VN2000. If I ever need another bike (my son is nearing that age), I will make Woods my first stop. read more

I did the online application and had a guy named Austin call the next day. I advised that I was currently looking but wouldn't be able to buy until I got my license and completed a motorcycle safety course. Pretty much after that, Austin stopped responding. I called in two weeks later to find out if he even worked there because he took personal information from me and then said he'd call me back. Come to find out he was off that day and he is a manager. The manager on duty advised that he would leave a note to have Austin call me back on Monday when he got back into the office. Well, Austin never called. Another week goes by and I call in again, this time Austin was in.... He advised that he didn't call me back because I wasn't ready to buy yet. I told him I was a few weeks out from my motorcycle safety course and wanted to get a headstart on figuring out which bike I wanted and all of that. Austin then has Fernando reach out to me I guess since he was a manager. In my head I was like hmm, I already don't want to deal with this guy because he doesn't seem to give a crap about me or my business but whatever. I ended up driving out to the store the same day to work with Fernando on looking at some bikes. Fernando was a really nice guy. No complaints for him at all. Things went well and I had narrowed down my search to a Honda Phantom. I gave Fernando more information so he could do the credit check and he advised that he would be in touch. A few hours later, Austin calls back and leaves a message advising that I was approved. I called him back but no answer and left a voicemail. An hour or so goes by so I call back and speak to Fernando asking what is going on. He advised that he would have Austin reach back out. About an hour later Austin calls back and starts off with "Man we got you a great deal". He proceeds to tell me that I am approved as well as with some parts like an exhaust and computer for the bike. He explains that the "great deal" that I am approved for is for 36 months at around 250. Fine not a big deal I really like the bike and I can afford that. When I start asking about APR, he comes out with a whopping 16.99% percent and tells me it's based on credit. Sure, I get that but I am not agreeing to that ridiculous amount. He asked what I would be looking for and when I said 5-6% APR, negotiations pretty much ended there. I said thanks for your time and we ended the call. I find it absolutely ridiculous that this guy is a manager who 1) would never return my calls and 2) didn't even try to work with me. I have also checked out the Harley in Round Rock and honestly, I am ok with spending more on a Harley to get much better customer service. If I bought through Woods, I would be afraid that if I had any issues, I would have to deal with things like that for the life of the warranty or bike. I honestly think that while Fernando was extremely nice, it was only because I was a potential buyer. At the Harley dealership, the guys took the time to chat with me. Not just about buying a bike but other things at well. I wouldn't recommend wasting your time here unless you can't afford looking somewhere else. Husband and I purchased two jet skis here and our experience was amazing!! Blake was so patient and helpful and helped us find exactly what we were looking for. The whole staff had nothing but good vibes and are all eager to help. The best part of it all is you never feel pressured to purchase anything. They will tell you what the honestly feel about each product and there differences and never try to up sell. I decided to sell my side by side to a dealership to avoid the CL drama. I'm not naive in thinking that I would profit I fully understand the dealer has to make money on resale. I went in fully expecting to get low balled but I had an acceptable number in mind. They matched that number spot on! They offered a fair price with no expectation of a trade in or purchase. But, we all need our toys so after the sale I put $500 down and requested two bikes be ordered so I could compare them in person. I expected to wait 2-3 months due to current shortages. The bike arrived in 3 weeks! I went in to buy expecting games, high pressure four square etc. None of that happened. zero. All the staff from sales to finance are so laid back and apply no pressure or tricks. They are just a bunch of folks in love with power sports and want to help customers get in on it too. I forgot the name of the financial guy so my apology but he was awesome and very helpful. My sales person Jasmine that was with me from the beginning is a 10 star! I cant wait till I get another bug for a new toy so I can go back and buy again from her and all the rest of the staff at Ride Now! read more

Before I get in to the meat of this review, I want to say I gave Woods many chances. I even almost bought a brand new Sea-Doo from them after numerous failures by the parts and service departments. Eventually I realized I couldn't trust any newly-purchased vehicle to be serviced or warrantied by this group, so I spent my dollars elsewhere. In the interest of brevity I will list my grievances in bullet point fashion: -I ordered a replacement brake light assembly for my Rzr, and they sent me a bulb. -I was in need of a new tire for my Rzr, and the parts guy told me the incorrect size of my rim/tire WHILE HE HELD IT. Had I ordered the tire they wanted, it wouldn't have fit. -The service department mounted my tire backwards, after asking me which tire it was once at the counter and then tracking me down on the showroom to ask again. TIre still ended up backwards. -While discussing the merits of the new Rzrs on the showroom floor, the salesman refused to look at my wife, directing all his comments to me even if she asked the question. My wife is a damn capable driver and responsible for 50% of our spending decisions. That lost him our attention. -While I stood in line at the service desk, another gentlemen was outside looking over his bike with a member of the service team. After he had ridden away, the employee came back in to the shop and began mocking the customer to his friend, in front of me and another customer, proclaiming he was an idiot and the problem was in his head. I am unable to advise anyone to spend upwards of ten thousand dollars at this dealership. Those actions help perpetuate this type of garbage service. Take the extra time to drive to Central Texas Powersports, it is indeed worth it. Hell, drive to Oklahoma and save the tax. read more

I purchased a new Honda VTX1300 from this place (complete with VIP package (additional $1,000). I took the bike in last week for a tune up and state inspection. The crome housing on the gas tank had a vibration to it so I asked if they could check that out. The clerk said sure that will cost an additional $84. I said never mind. After the tune up the clerk called me on the phone and said the light over the license plate was burned out and needed replacing before he could inspect it. I said no problem, after all how much can a .29 cent bulb cost to install. When he quoted me $29.95 I told him to just leave it as is. I picked up my bike, changed the bulb myself which took about two minutes and got it inspected at an honest place of business. read more

Wish I could give the service center negative stars. It's an absolute nightmare. Unbelievable, horrible, unprofessional, disorganized, and rude customer service. The actual "repair" work hardly even qualifies as a repair. What kind of mechanic leaves dripped and dried silicone oozing down the cylinder from a head gasket repair? It's that acceptable quality of work that's terrifying to think what the inside looks like. I've tried their service center 3 times. Everytime was worse than before. If they offered to repair everything for free and to pay me $1000.00 I'd laugh and walk away. No way ever again. I will say the service center manager tries his best and his efforts should be noted but no one person can fix that place. read more

It's not my fault that you left me not once, not twice, but 3 times to deal with other customers during my appointment time. It's not my fault that you couldn't be a salesperson or facilitator or whatever else you want to call yourself and help me when I got overwhelmed as to which Triumph motorcycle I wanted - instead you just wanted me out the door. It's not my fault that you still had customers that you were "helping" when I showed up for my CONFIRMED APPOINTMENT to test ride and purchase a new Triumph; I was ready, why weren't you? If you want to know how much business I do at a motorcycle shop, just call Tyler's Harley shop down the road and ask Rick how many bikes Kim Castoe has purchased. Yelpers are 100% dead on about this place. it has a good selection but they are a bunch of rip off artists. This place consistently lets me down. I gave them a several hour heads up that I wanted to test drive some bikes on my lunch break, showed up, none of the bikes were ready, they ended up putting me on a consigned bike with a dead battery that had to be charged. I went in to meet with them about buying a bike, the salesperson talked to me about a lot of stuff and I was excited. They gave me what he said was a "good deal" on a Yamaha 250 at $7800 out the door. I called 1 dealer to check their price, who I had never talked to and they quoted $7000 out the door, the first guy I called. Local guy. Then what's funny is I called them back and said this to them they didn't even return my call. All they are looking to do is fleece the customers that come in the door here. Recently had another situation where they had an item that I wanted, they had it used, new it retails for $2799, again they said great deal at $2699, first place I call can sell it for $2500. Identical merchandise. Then they called and said they had a used one for $2300, I offered $2000 out the door for a damaged item that was 2 years old and was told $2382 best deal. I have a bike that I did not purchase from Woods but I do get all my accessories there at a fare price vs. anywhere else in Austin and believe me I have shopped around. READ THE REVIEWS...BUYERS BEWARE!!! My son has been riding motocross for over 10 yrs, we spend a lot of money for his hobby and buy quality stuff. I have no idea why we started to shop here but I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER THING FROM THIS STORE. I don't care if it's the last spark plug in Austin, I will travel anywhere else to make my purchases after this incident. My 16 yr old son takes his time buying his own things. He works hard to pay for his hobby. This purchase was expensive and very important to him. (over $500 mx boots) The store appears to have a decent selection on the wall but NOTHING IN STOCK. How can you try on boots, figure out your size if there's only 1 size? The COMMISSIONED salesman talked us into buying them- take them home/walk around to see how they break in. Before we left the store, the salesman and my son went over to the bikes to get on to see if the length would be a problem changing gears, etc. We took them hm because of his word of a 2 wk return policy. When we brought them back within 10 days they didn't want to take the return or exchange. BEFORE they even opened up the box they were giving us other ideas to try like "put on an extra pair of socks" or "keep them/you'll fit in them soon enough". The manager came over and with several sales people standing by him which was very intimidating and unprofessional- they ganged up on me saying that the boots had been worn and were not returnable. I explained what the salesman told us during our purchase and that he did wear the boots in their store & got on the bike, etc. We wanted to exchange for a smaller size & requested he ask his vendor to bring some in. He said they have trouble w/some of their vendors and wouldn't do that, we had to order them first. After going back and forth arguing we left with the boots. My son is upset, we will be purchasing our gear from another store/vendor. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS customer service-? What you don't understand is that MX is a community sport and we all talk about bikes, parts, gear, etc. Word of mouth speaks volumes and I will definitely share our story with all of our MX friends and family. read more

Sexist, much? My boyfriend had recently purchased a motorcycle and, of course, if I would be riding with him I would need my own jacket and helmet. On a Saturday afternoon we agreed to meet up at Wood's Fun Center to look at helmets and jackets. He would be driving his motorcycle up from South Austin and I would be driving my car from north Austin. When I arrived at Woods Fun Center I didn't see my boyfriend's bike so I figured I had gotten there before he did. I decided I would walk around inside and check out the bikes and scooters as I had been considering getting a scooter, anyway. I walk about 6 feet in the door and two sales 'men' are standing at the entry way. One guy says to me, "Are you looking for someone?" There are so many things wrong with that question it blows my mind. First of all, who said I'm not there to buy something (which I was.), Second of all, that's horrid customer service. You greet your customers when they walk in the door and ask if they would like assistance finding something. The rest of the conversation and experience at Woods Fun Center is all downhill from there. I replied to the guy stating that I was looking for my boyfriend. The guy then says, "What? You're looking for a boyfriend?" I look at him bewildered and said, "No...He has red hair, taller than me..." He then cuts me off and says, "I don't see him here, must have left with some other girl." I was disgusted. I have walked about 6 feet in the door and I'm treated like this within 5 minutes? I did nothing more than walk through a door. I don't deserve to be spoken to in such a condescending tone and sexist manner. Speechless and disgusted I turned away and continued looking at bikes and scooters. The sales guy stopped talking-- thank God. After a few minutes I made my way outside to look at those bikes. By a different associate I was asked, "Do you need help? I just see you wondering around." At this point I've officially concluded that unless I'm a male I shouldn't be here and clearly I wouldn't be buying anything either nor will any of the associates take me seriously. At this point I've stopped answering the associates attempts at speaking to me. Finally after about 15 minutes, my boyfriend shows up and we make our way to the back to check out the helmets and jackets. An associate assisted us in helping me find the right size and talked us through some of the different models. At this point I'm thinking "Oh good. Finally someone is talking to me like a customer and treating me with some damn respect." (Wrong) After we were done looking at helmets we moved on to jackets. The selection of women's jackets is pathetically small and sizing for what they do have runs ridiculously huge. Not only in customer service do they not cater to women, but they also don't cater to them in terms of product. The first jacket I tried on was a small and still too large on me. The associate then, at a lame attempt to make a joke or something, suggested that I "should hit the gym to fill out the jacket." My boyfriend and I looked at each other disgruntled. No employee at any store should ever make a remark about someone's body and suggest what they should or should not to do with it. It's tacky and plain rude. The only remarks should be "That's looks great on you" or "I think it's too small/large, let's try another brand or size." Shortly after, we wrapped up the conversation and made our way out the door. When we got to my car I explained to my boyfriend what had happened and how upset I was. We both went back in and he confronted the guy at the entry way about the comments and remarks he made to me. The guy at first denied what he said (Basically calling me a liar- IN FRONT OF ME), then reluctantly apologized and then started becoming aggressive towards my boyfriend. My boyfriend is not someone who just starts talking crap and yelling at people. He approached the situation in a very assertive and mature manner. As we were leaving the guy was --staring us down-- as we walked out the door. Unbelievable. My boyfriend then called the store manager when we got home and explained the situation and what had happened. He store manager apologized and said the employee would be dealt with. Whatever that means. Never in my life have I experience such disgusting and sexist 'customer service'. Wake up Woods Fun Center- it's 2014 not 1950. Would that I could give less than one star. I had the displeasure of walking into Woods "Fun" Center this afternoon in my quest for a top end scooter. First, since I am not a 20-something female, I was basically ignored. When I finally found a salesman to assist me, he couldn't be bothered to put down the Monster and talk to me. Rather, he continued to slurp away while I attempted to ask questions about available models. When I asked if there were any more scooters other than the five on the showroom floor he told me that there were "lots" out back. It turns out there weren't "lots" out back, but there might be one in a box in the back. Then, that one magically disappeared and he said he could get me one from Dallas. All I needed to do was give him my information and sign some papers, and the scooter would be mine. Sure. What a shame for Woods - I am a cash customer and would have bought the scooter today had there been (a) one available, and (b) if they had a salesperson who actually knew the stock and models available and could be bothered to actually pay attention to the customer. read more

I (a female) and a female friend of mine went to Woods Fun Center last week to look to buy a leather jacket with armor. As soon as we entered the doors, we were asked "are you ladies looking for someone?" I was a little put off by that statement. Does he ask men entering the store if they are looking to visit someone or are they greeted and asked if they need help in finding something to purchase. But I held my smarta** response and chose to reply we were there to look at clothing, gloves and boots. Without his help to locate where the racks were, we found them ourselves. Clearly while we were going through the racks of ladies jackets, the next guy said "are you ladies here to visit someone?". We said "no, we were shopping for jackets" (duh). The 2 males that were working in sales here were unhelpful, Sexist & rude. Women ride & own bikes too, dudes. read more

Under new management who go up and beyond! Only dealership in Texas that ordered a pair of Schuberth M1 helmets for me to try on and didn't require a deposit. Roland Cortez was extremely knowledgeable about the proper fit as Schuberth helmets are very unique in their sizing. Consequently I purchased not only a new helmet but the Schuberth SRC communication system. Sales staff even took the time to show me the finer points of a BMW R 1200 GS which is a really innovative and nice bike coming from a life long HD rider! read more

I'd heard all the horror stories, and read the other Yelp reviews, but was just flat out DETERMINED to see for myself. My basic driving course rider coach recommended the place, and of course I've heard the advertisements, so it really couldn't be as bad as the reviews, right? Wow. I guess I need to experience it to believe it. Went in on my lunch break to buy a helmet. I'm a new rider, so I needed assistance. Wandered around for quite a while, as the sales person was busy chatting with the cashier. Finally asked for help, and specifically said I was looking for a full-face, but NOT a specific brand. What brand was recommended over and over? The brand I was avoiding. My stupid mistake #2 was believing the salesperson, who is a rider and said was a rider coach, too, knew their stuff and could help me find a proper fit. I looked like a chipmunk, and couldn't even close my jaw without chewing my own cheek. It was explained that after wearing the helmet for a while, the cheek pads would shrink to fit. Well, what do I know - it's my first helmet. Clearly, my research should have been conducted before going here. While I debated on what to do, said salesperson began helping another person, and I was left standing there. Cashier couldn't answer my questions, and didn't mention the "all sales final" policy... I bought it, as I had to return to work, and let the box sit in a chair for a few days. Decided that almost $400 for a helmet that just didn't feel right and wasn't worth it, so went to return it. I will take full credit for the previous mistakes - I was naiive, and wanted to prove all the Yelpers wrong - but "forgetting" to tell me there's no return policy, and telling me the extremely-tight fit was "typical," and answering my complaint with "sometimes we get the fit wrong".... Now come on! I may be new, but what about customer service?! The guy in the parts department even commented that the box was still sealed, and they could tell it had never been worn (yes, they smelled it). In steps the manager, who was very polite and wanted to help, but he stood by the rule. No return. We did change out the cheek pads, so it's not as bad, but it is still a size too small. Now, I'll either go helmet-free and risk my life in rush hour, or I'll deal with the headache all day. I learned my lesson - trust yelpers, don't believe a commision-based sales person (or, it seems they are, anyway) on what is typical, and avoid Woods. read more

These guys worked with me to get me up and running in the least painful way. They were responsive, communicative, and straight-up with me. High Fives to all, especially Regan in service. I was visiting Austin and laid down my bike on a soft shoulder. Brought the bike here because I needed it fixed quickly, so I didn't read all the lousy reviews on Yelp until after I dropped off the bike. Needless to say, was feeling a bit apprehensive. The service tech that wrote up the ticket said he would do his best to get it looked at that day. I was a bit antsy, so I called a few hours later and they hadn't had a chance to look at it. Understandable, as they were busy, but frustrating in the moment. I got a call a few hours later, and they had checked out the bike and gave me a laundry list of the damage, totaling more than $3000. BUT.....he said that if I wasn't going to go through insurance, we could do it differently. As I only wanted to get it up and running and home again, he informed me that the bike could run, but the bike needed a new brake pedal. Parts and Labor would be about $130 or so, on top of the $99 wreck assessment. I knew the pedal was $80, and $45 for 1/2 labor sounded like a deal to me. Not 20 minutes later.....Regan called me to say that they bent the pedal back to where it would work fine, albeit a bit ugly. NO CHARGE!!!! So, I escaped with $99 and nothing but great things to say about these guys. Everyone gets a different experience in life, but these guys treated me great......10 Stars! read more

Staff is a complete joke. Brainless morons with a chip on their shoulders. I've gone twice and almost bought a bike from them but I was really offended the way they treat people. They speak to you as if you were a high school kid at a party. Ask a question and get a very condescending answer. Very disrespectful, cursing and even making sexually explicit comments about female customers right in front of me while expressing horrible cocky attitudes. (All of them) Until these clowns get their management under control, I'm not going back and the first thing out of my mouth when I hear their name is "DO NOT GO THERE", followed by a brief explanation of their reputation. One reason I would return to Woods Fun Center...Dustin Reynolds. Dustin assisted me in the purchase of a 2011 Suzuki TU250X. He was not overbearing or pushy, but completely easy going, honest and knowledgeable. His background in the Service department convinced me that I was buying a bike from someone who possesses an intimate knowledge of the mechanics of the machine and not simply an interest in selling me a bike that does not suit my needs. He did not badger as I felt other salespeople in the store were apt to do. Dustin was NOT cocky, but simply confident, skilled and truly helpful. The paperwork to test drive a bike at Woods was a bit excessive. You practically buy the bike on paper before taking it for a spin, with the promise that the paperwork gets shredded if you aren't interested in buying. It is a time consuming process, so you better be sure you are truly interested in a bike rather than just deciding to go for a spin on a whim. Kudos to Woods for making the Suzuki TU250 available. And thanks to Dustin for his expertise. I was not interested in purchasing a cruiser and this little standard rocks. I'm happy with my experience at Woods! read more
