One of my favorite Brunch spots. this is an attractive bar front, plenty of seats and the restaurant towards the back. i've never been disappointed with my food or felt the was a long wait or anything. We went to the Rising Sun for breakfast on Saturday morning. The restaurant only services breakfast Fri - Sun. The restaurant was busy like every time we go there. The noise level was high for breakfast time. The service was very good. I ordered the meat omelette with sausage and cheese ( I passed on the bacon - see below). The cheese was supposed to be American but the cook gave me smoked Gouda. The omelette was delicious. I ordered sour dough toast and ended up with wheat toast. It was buttered perfectly. The hash browns were overdone. I would like this restaurant to keep the salt and pepper on the table. In addition, I would like a katchup bottle vs. a small little tablespoon condiment side of katchup. Regarding the side of bacon my wife ordered, this restaurant struggles to understand how to cook bacon extra crispy. Everytime, we order extra crispy bacon, it come out like a limp pieces of undercooked bacon strips. I am not sure if the Toast ordering device has a note section for crisp bacon, but everytime, the bacon is sent back to get cooked. read more

Service and atmosphere were awesome, food was little lacking. Coconut curry mussels, barely either taste was there, they also provided no where for me to put the shells (bowl is usually provided). We eat here a lot and I have found the food to always be good but inconsistent. Service is also inconsistent and because of that it can be tricky if you are stopping here before an event in Hershey. Give yourself plenty of time as servers can disappear for 20 minutes at a time. One other note, the menu is often a bit misleading so you may want to ask questions if you are sensitive to food. For example, the tacos list taco sauce but it's actually a creamy sauce which was an unfortunate surprise for our table. Another example, one of the desserts is an oatmeal raisin mousse, but it's actually two cookies with a cream cheese filling. That was also an unfortunate surprise. Look, this is a solidly good choice and if Lou is behind the bar the drinks are amazing. Just be prepared to give yourselves enough time and ask questions about the menu items before ordering. read more

My wife wanted to treat me out for dinner so we picked the rising sun bar. Seated before our reservation time which was great. Unfortunately that is where the positives ended. Our waitress was too busy having conversations with every table except ours. We were done with our dinner before we received our second round of drinks and were told that we could not cancel them since the bar already made them. Food was ok. I ordered the prime rib sandwich which was served with a side aue juice . However the waitress spilled the juice so my sandwich was soggy. Our meal was complete and took almost a 1/2 hour for our waitress to bring us our bill. Actually we had to track her down.We dropped 80 bucks plus tip. Went for lunch with my husband on a Wednesday afternoon. First time here. Nice atmosphere, warm and inviting. They have an outdoor patio that would be nice for summer, or at least warmer weather. The service was a little slow but very nice and informed. I had an orange crush cocktail that was delicious. We both had the creamy chicken corn soup that came out a little on the cool side, but was also delicious. My husband had a cheeseburger and fries, also very good. I had a beet salad. Large portions allowed me to take leftovers home for the next day's lunch. I really enjoyed the salad. You could add a protein to it, but I didn't. Wanted to try it as it is. The beets and goat cheese combined with golden raisins and sliced almonds on greens....yummy! I only took a star off because the soup wasn't hot enough, but really 4.5 stars! read more

Great venue, great service, and just simple delicious food. After our morning adventures in Hershey, we took a short 10 minute trip to Campbelltown to dabble in this places morsels. We were not disappointed. They are not complaining about COVID, they are just producing great food. We ordered a hodgepodge of items for our lunch break. Their Braided pretzel was served with a smoked Gouda cheese sauce that was so yummy, we could of used a spoon to eat just the sauce. The balsamic sauce (because it was not like the usual dressing) that was used on the Caprese Salad was exceptional. The Carne Asado they used on their Flatbread & tacos was juicy and tender. We had lunch here today and it was not very good. I had the Prime Rib French Dip and the meat was very tough, ( it was so tough a steak knife didn't want to cut it) grissly and very overcooked. The Au jus was horrible with no color or flavor and a layer of grease on top. The only good part of the meal were the french fries which were delicious. We sat at the bar and the barmaid who waited on us pretty much ignored us the whole but thankfully the other bartender was helpful. With so many good eateries around the area I won't be going back. Stopped for lunch on the way back home from Lancaster. I had the Thai shrimp salad. It was soooo good! Had a nice heat to the peanut sauce. My husband had the crab corn chowder, which was also delicious. Our server Isaac was attentive and friendly. The only area of concern was the man who seated us. The food and our server were good! However, I made the reservation and requested we be sat outside. We were told there was a 15-20 minute wait as all of the tables were full. Totally understandable, but what was frustrating was not even 5 minutes after we were sat, a party of the same size was seated outside. We also were brought a high hair by the hostess that was soaking wet. When she brought it to our table she noted it was a little wet (complete downplay) and just left. Not sure why it couldn't have been dried off before it was brought to us. My toddler couldn't even sit in it because he would've been soaked. I hate even saying this knowing that tourist might be able to steal the spot from me on a busy Saturday night down the road. The decor in the vibe are relaxed and feel welcoming. We've come to the Rising Sun multiple times now. At first, it was a favorite of ours. The last 2 visits proved to be our last. Ordered the Chicken Parmesan Pasta special. The chicken was so deep fried and overcooked and the 'special sauce' tasted like a can of tomato paste. Overpriced for this particular entree. The waitress came around to ask how everything was and my plate clearly had all but 2 bites there and pushed to the side. I mentioned I didn't care for it as it had no taste and was too fried. She could have cared less to appoint I don't even think she realized she asked the question. Disappointing. I ordered the brisket sandwich. the bread and the toppings were great, but the meat(brisket) the main star of the show is very very DRY and hard to chew. My friend's sandwich was the same. I want to preface this by saying, the food is amazing and my family and I love it there! However, this review is for the new patio. The bees are awful and for all the money that was spent to put in such an amazing place, the pest control was not taken into consideration. My son got stung for the first time, not once, but twice, and we are monitoring him for allergies. A beautiful day has turned into a nightmare. We were told by our waitress that nothing was done about the bees and they didn't spray, when they knew in fact this was a problem from previous nice days. While we were there, 5 people were stung prior to my son. We are disappointed and won't be visiting again until the problem is resolved. Do not sit on the patio if you want to be swarmed by bees or if you are allergic. Your chances of getting stung are very good. read more

Palmyra's gem is this wonderful restaurant! It's pleasing to the eye with decor and pleasing to the palate. I have been here several times after stressful doctor appointments, and chillax upon entering the front doors of this cozy bar/restaurant. Everything is fresh with farm-to-table vibe. I almost always order the brussel sprouts as an appetizer. As far as entrees, there are way too many great ones from which to pick a favorite! Pasta, salad, meats, nachos, soup, chili--all are super! We finally went to the Rising Sun and it simply sucked. it lacked any warmth, felt like it was trying too hard to appeal to hipsters, and the food was an absolute JOKE! Our Garlic cheddar biscuits were a confusion of flavors that did not work together at all (garlic, salty, spicy honey , and cinnamon butter?) and the biscuits were laughingly small. they were slighty bigger than a silver dollar. the french dip was soggy (before dipping, mind you) and the "au jus" was a greasy oily broth. the horseradish sauce was only in 2 bites of the sandwich and it was served on someone old tree stump ... can someone tell me WTF happened to using plates? we complained and the manager wouldn't even come and speak to us because "he was too busy". refused to remove my wife's meal because "she ate it", but eventually did refund the meal. im sorry, but you have to EAT THE FOOD TO SEE IF ITS ANY GOOD! The margherita flat bread is burnt!! Maybe the cook is having a bad day today but this is not what I expected to get and eat. Carne asada tacos were also really dry and burnt.
