We recently used River Rock General Construction, LLC (Oregon CCB #200263) for a sump-pump installation project. Below is a description of our experiences with them. I hope you will consider using them for your projects. Planning Stage - They provided us with an outdoor sump-pump option that met our needs. They answered our questions before starting any work. Personally, I like to avoid misunderstandings by handling Q&A via email, so everyone has a written record of what was said, and River Rock was willing to do it that way. They coordinated with their preferred electrician, who secured appropriate the building permit. Since River Rock paid the electrician directly, they acted as a general contractor for the project so that I did not have to contact anyone else. Completion - They started on a date that fit our schedule, and completed the job within the original time-estimate, even after encountering some unexpected challenges. They trenched the crawl space, fitted it with appropriate pipe and covered the trenches with generous amounts of coarse gravel. They showed care for our home with COVID masks indoors, drop-cloths everywhere to protect floors/garage from dirt, and even kept the exterior door closed as much as possible to keep the house warm (the work was done in January). I recently had a pretty severe water leak in my family room which is the lower level of a split level home. I had an idea what was causing the leak but needed a professional to look at this and give me a quote for what I believed was going to be a substantial undertaking to have repaired. Jason is a true professional who gives you fair and unbiased assessments. Jason has wonderful customer service and really is a crawl space specialist. I discovered that we had water leaking into our finished basement. Immediately I went online to look for companies that waterproof foundations. Due to the outstanding reviews, I chose to call Jason at River Rock General Construction. Within a few days, Jason came out to evaluate the situation and explain the best solution. He and his crew arrived several days later to excavate, waterproof, and create a new drainage system. They all worked incredibly hard over five full days. We had several companies come out and take a look at our crawlspace. Jason explained thoroughly what was occurring along with the steps River Rock would take to resolve the problem. I appreciated that the options were broken out separately so we could choose according to budget. River Rock did a great job putting in drains around the foundation, a pump and replacing old vapor barrier (a different company had installed vapor barrier without removing the old layer years ago). The job site was kept clean and there was minimal impact to my wife while she worked from home. The whole crew was very friendly and worked extremely hard. Jason and his family did great work installing a drainage system for us on the side of our house. They were friendly, professional, great communicators and Jason provided an itemized quote which helped us budget for the work. Jason also provided several options with varying costs and was patient and knowledgeable as he explained his approach to addressing the drainage issue with us. We still have to see the system in action with the next major rain, but we are confident the drainage system should address our issue. RRGC was very professional and easy to work with. There are a lot of basement waterproofing contractors who are anxious to sell you work you don't need. Jason doesn't do that - instead assessing what is needed and offering that service at a reasonable price. It can take a little time to get onto his work schedule, but once they start they do careful and thorough work. They ran a long french drain for us, carefully working around plants and tree roots. Didn't ask for the second payment until they had a chance to clean up and test the drain, which took about 10 days due to snow storm and our vacation. River Rock worked on the house my son purchased, repairing a cracked foundation, working in a crawl space during some of the warmest weather of the summer. They identified that the gutters emptied into old, broken pipes under the house, creating a water problem and some dry rot. They dug a new, underground drainage system and repaired the dry rot.
