My wife and kids and I absolutely love Robbie's. Full disclosure we are regulars, but because we are regulars we know that Robbie trained under some of the best chefs in Sedona, and he brought that type of classical training and from-scratch mentality into his own restaurant. The au jus is made from scratch, the alfredo is proper 4-ingredient Alfredo, the pizzas are hand tossed with a delicious crust and high quality ingredients, and the burgers really are to die for. On top of that they have some excellent specialty cocktails, very high quality beers on tap including local ones, and the atmosphere is much bigger and more comfortable than you would expect from such a small town. Lots of parking, tons of seating indoors and out, tons of TVs, there's even video games for the kids. Not to mention you get a personal hello by the time you've made a second visit. The service was lousy, the food ice cold, and the owners attitude was terrible! We are local and I was treating my 81 year old mother. 15 minutes turned into more then 30 and I had to go ask for my food or a refund because my mother became nauseous and was waiting in the car, sick. I was snottily told I wasn't getting a refund and what we got was ice cold food and warm salad! It had been sitting there probably for half the time, seriously it was awful! No apology or compassion for my mother! I won't go back and this seems to be the rule not the exception, this wasn't the first time we had poor service! I gave this restaurant two chances. First night I ordered the fried pickles and hot wings. I became sick within half an hour of eating there. A few days later I thought Ill try them again. The special of the day was wontons with crab and cream cheese. They came burnt and hard. I sent them back Then I ordered the shrimp and fries. The butterfly shrimp was burnt. I did receive a second order of the shrimp. Not very tasty, This place is good if you just want a great cocktail And they didnt comp me for the wontons! read more

A short Sunday roadtrip brought us to Robbie's in Rimrock, AZ. What a varied menu! This place has it all - pizza, burgers, tacos, pasta, seafood, sandwiches, dinners, etc. It was lunch, so we opted for burgers, after considering many other yummy-sounding items. Mine was made from elk...delicious. No complaints from the other two in the party either. One had the Popper Burger with cream cheese and jalapeños. The other had a burger with chopped green chiles. Wow what a great find in a small town we used to fly by on our way back home to Flagstaff. The menu is a great variety and so many choices! My husband decided on the elk chili burger special and they let him substitute fries for the onion rings. I had a bowl of the coconut curry which was as good as any Thai restaurant in Flagstaff. We were surprised that the owner Robbie was actually the cook too, and his heart is poured into every dish. We felt right at home and our bartender Kate treated us like a local. My husband and I were traveling. We stayed in Rimrock as it's advertised 'near Sedona', but were really disappointed in the 'town' however finding Robbie's brighten our day and experience! We sat on the small patio and listened to the birds and nature. Relaxing. Kate our waitress was friendly and very helpful. I ordered a regular cheeseburger which was delicious right down the crunchy pickles! My hubby ordered the elk burger which he loved also. He also had a margarita which he said was the best in Arizona. It was a nice way to end our day and travels. Loved it! We stayed 7 days in Arizona and this was by far the best meal we had! read more

Went for breakfast this morning. It was pretty busy. Giving a 2 star, only for the food. We were lucky to get a table that had dirty plates but were quickly cleared. Sat down, got our order taken in a reasonable amount of time. Ordered biscuits and gravy. Pretty simple - heat up a biscuit and pour some gravy on it. After our order was taken 3 more groups of people came in. The server was a little overwhelmed but she had another girl helping clear tables and another running her food. Sat there for 25 minutes and when a table that came in after us got their food, I mentioned it to the food runner(maybe a manager?) that we had been waiting for 25 minutes for a biscuit and gravy. She said ours was coming up‍. Then ANOTHER table who had come in after us was served their food! What the heck?! I again said something and her response was "they do the tickets in order "! Which obviously they do not! After 35 minutes we FINALLY got our one biscuit and gravy! Which was very good by the way. When I went to pay, I mentioned how long it took and that I worked in a restaurant and I know how long it takes to slap some gravy on a biscuit and again was told they do the tickets in order (no they didn't!) and she was by herself and was overwhelmed (no she wasn't, had 2 other helpers). Just admitting that your mistake that you forgot our order would have gone a long ways, but she had all kinds of excuses. And you know what they say about excuses.... read more

We stopped on our way down from Flagstaff. Less than 2 mi off the I-17 gets you a great neighborhood restaurant with great food and people. We sat outside on the nice patio and got a bit of a breeze. There was live music inside but we were enjoying the weather and quiet outside. Hubby tried the new AZ Mex burger with guacamole cheese & bacon. I barely got a bite before it was gone. My son got this huge Philly cheese steak sub and ate The whole thing. Now let's talk about the animal fries. They are loaded fries with onions, cheddar cheese & thousand island dressing. So there's a sign right on the door that says to wear a mask until you're seated and drinking/eating. We follow that every time because we're from Phoenix and used to it. Yet for the next 10 or 15 people that came in, no one had a mask on and even our server, Kate, had hers under her nose instead of properly up. We placed our order within five minutes of being there, it took 45 minutes to get a pizza and spaghetti and meatballs. Neither was piping hot, which I'd expect with how long it took, the meatballs in our daughter's dish did not taste like beef or pork or even plant based (which we've had) and the pizza was meh. Our server only came back to check on us when she gave us our food. That's 40 minutes of no interaction, we will not be back. They clearly treat their regulars far nicer. read more
