For what it's worth, Dr. Don doesn't have any disciplinary action against him by the Dental Board of California. This is good! You're thinking "well, duh", but you would be surprised at the amount of other dentists who have complaints filed against them, or have even been suspended for certain periods of time. I've had 3 wisdom teeth pulled (one left in due to being completely covered and harmless.. for now), a root canal, a crown, a full mouth deep cleaning, and several regular cleanings done. Every visit was short, always less than 2 hours, so you can schedule visits during your lunch break if need be. They are very good at giving estimates on how long things will take so be sure to ask if there are timing concerns. I picked Dr. Don after researching dozens of clinics based on who would accept my insurance, distance, price, and reviews. Luckily, my choice paid off as my teeth are in the best condition they've been in years. The staff is very friendly, and they will always shoot you a reminder call or text if you have an appointment coming up. One of the best things is the goodie bag you get after each visit. Who doesn't love free floss? I do recommend Dr. Don for pretty much all your dental needs. If we haven't been overrun by zombies yet, I'll try to update this review periodically. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Don's for about the past 10 years. Unequivocally, Dr. Don is the best dentist I have ever had. As I was told when a colleague first referred me to his office: "He's amazing. He's a perfectionist!". Truer words have never been spoken. Over the years, Dr. Don has done crowns, root canals, implants and even Invisiligns on me. Never an issue. All of Dr. Don's past work culminated recently with a "complete overhaul" of my upper front teeth with crowns and veneers. Seriously, amazing! He truly is a perfectionist! I am incredibly disappointed by this dentist. I am an out-of-state college student so I came to Dr. Don's office for a cleaning based off of his good reviews. The hygienist was extremely kind; however, I had to wait 30 minutes after the cleaning to get checked by Dr. Don. He was outgoing, but he made a joke about the appearance of my "bunny" buck teeth. I did not find this professional. He told me that I had 8 cavities. Prior to this appointment, I never had a cavity so I was extremely worried and booked an appointment to get them filled rather than waiting to go home to my normal dentist months later for my college break. Dr. Don also handed me a paper with a list of procedures (with their prices) of what he thought I needed to get done to improve my smile. This was very aggressive and something I never experienced at a dental office before. When I went in for my next appointment to get my fillings, I had to wait for a long time until seeing Dr. Don. When he finally came, Dr. Don allowed his dental assistant to complete four of the fillings. I found this odd, but didn't question it because I trusted him because he had raving reviews. Dr. Don was extremely quick and it seemed like he just wanted to quickly finish the appointment instead of focusing on me as a patient. Months later, when I went back home to my normal dentist, I was informed that I did not have cavities. My dentist told me that Dr. Don only drilled out my cracked sealants and filled it with composite. I was infuriated because the bill for 8 cavities was very pricey and I did not get the best treatment. Dr. Don made me feel embarrassed about my "bunny" teeth and he never took the time to carefully explain the details of what I needed to get done. It was my fault for trusting him, but I wish I waited a few months to see my normal dentist at home, who I trust. Do not trust, Dr. Don. He is very aggressive in getting you to complete procedures you do not need!! His staff is kind, but you will wait a long time in his office even when you have an appointment. read more

The relationship here started by me pointing out that I have unusually sensitive teeth due to my motorcycle accident that left a number of micro cracks on my teeth and the fact that I have three nerve roots in my teeth (not two). Dr Don laughed to this and said teeth are teeth. I came to do one crown and nothing else, and while I was in the chair under anesthesia he said I will go ahead and do the rest on this side since we are already under anesthetic. So without my consent he did one more crown on that side, 4 fillings and deep cleaning. I went in to spend $600 for a crown, and walked away with $1900 cost (paid with Cigna FSA card - and imagine that the available balance that I had on the card was exactly that much! - what coincidence, is it now?). I felt violated from all the work that was done at once - I sat in the chair with open mouth for 3.5 hours! The crowns were done with the crown printer machine, which came out so big that I couldn't talk, and it was causing me to bite myself. Went back and it took me 30min of back and forth with Dr. Don to do something about it (he told me that he can see on the picture that the crown is good - to which I replied I am right here look at me, why are you looking at the picture, I am right here telling you what is going on...). He simply shaved the crown which i) left a nasty feeling/tooth surface in my mouth, and ii) exposed my nerve so anything cold/sweet is so painful. I called to ask if we can do something about it and they scheduled an appointment, which I missed due to the time conflict on my end. When I tried for another one, and mentioned that the crown absolutely needs to be redone, they never called back. Unprofessional attitude, lack of compassion, arrogance and aggressively profit oriented service are words that come to my mind when I think about the dentist work/service and especially the front desk support (Angie - who was so fixated on draining my FSA card - she even suggested I just give it to them and they will charge as they go through various services). My experience here was simply said not good. I don't usually take time to write reviews like this, but if this can help someone avoid this type of experience in the future - then it is worth my time and energy. Because for me, this was a nightmare. I am now in the process of trying to find a dentist to take out these crowns and redo all the work (at my own cost a month after I spent $1900 on it - that is $1900 on my end, just imagine the total cost that was billed - I have a very solid dental insurance). read more

I have an old silver filling I didn't have any pain until the dentist convinced me to redo my old filling for a healthier and better looking filling. At the time, the dr was rough when he was drilling.. After the anesthesia went away, I continued having horrible pain for the next couple of days. At the time, I couldn't handle the excruciating pain no longer so I rushed to a local dental place to have them checkout . It turned out, the dentist had drilled so deep that it touches the nerve so I ended up with a root canal. I continued to have mild pain to this day. :(. Another tThe way the doctor treated the front office was very rude and secretive. I wouldn't recommend this dentist. I believe the purpose of a doctor is to help the patient not to make money from them from doing more procedures that are not necessary. But now I have found a better dentist. read more
