Not a bad price. The meatloaf has a Madeira glaze. The husband got the double size pork chop, also with mashed and broccoli. His was pricier. The meatloaf arrives as two large hunks. Looks promising. However, when I sliced into the patty, it crumbled, as if there was no cohesive element like bread crumbs to hold it together. I ate about half and took the rest home to feed later to the area animals. Am I being cruel to the animals? The husband brought home half of his meal, too. He'll eat the rest of it though. I think the issue was a mix of crowds and kitchen layout. They were very clearly trying to make sure that the people who were seated in the restaurant were being served as well, but all of the drink orders were going through this one, tiny coffee station that frankly couldn't keep up. And I think our drink orders were basically added at the end of the drink queue when we arrived to pick up our order. We didn't get any sort of priority because we'd technically ordered ahead. We essentially skipped the line, but not the queue on drinks. All in all, I'd definitely want to visit again. The food and drinks WERE really great. I had the avocado toast with chicken and for a seemingly simple dish it was absolutely phenomenal. The abuelita's was the best of the 3 iced coffee offerings we tried, and I would definitely order again. I know him from a couple of shows I attended at Southtown 101 a couple of years ago. This is weird. A bunch of people were there, mostly families with young children. It is advertised as family karaoke. The bar has a sign stating that there are no minors after 9pm allowed. The families all seem to know each other. It is almost cult-like. A lot of the kids sang and it was cute. By 9:15pm, all the kids and their families were gone. About six of our adults were left. Mondo bizarro. I got to sing four songs so I'm not complaining. I did remark to one of the remaining adults that this was cult-like. He said yes, an Alamo Heights cult. Ahhhh... Creepy, but fun. My Pacificos were $7 each, a Coke was $2.77. Food truck food is offered. Lots of choices for nibbles. Give them a try.
