Rock and Roll Cafe is one of those independent local burger joints with a menu consisting of all the regulars. They have burgers, fries, shakes, ect. The Philly Cheesesteak is more of a steak sandwich with hard to chew beef. Nothing what we expected. Especially since they had a steak sandwich already on the menu. A Philly is 99% of the time thin sliced beef with melted cheese on a roll. Maybe just call it a Steak and Cheese instead. This definitely did not meet our expectations. The Wild West burger was okay. Consisted of a regular beef patty with bacon, cheese and a huge onion ring. The bacon was the best part. The meat was a basic patty that could of used a little more seasoning. With COVID there is no indoor seating. No self serve drinks. They have to get your drink. read more

Ran into them again at another event and invited them to come out for our towns largest 4th of July Event and lucky us, they came out! Everyone was raving about how good the food is! We are here for lunch on a Monday afternoon on our way to see a friend in Simi Valley. The kids' meals were definitely enough for our littles (more than enough for the two littlest!), and the burgers for adults were super yummy and very filling. This is a small restaurant that has superb service. They have a varied menu of great things to eat. They are incredibly delicious. They turn your order to food on your table in under 10 minutes. Well, who knew I would award another Simi Valley restaurant 5 stars after all the verbal bashing I've done with regard to the sad and mediocre state of restaurants out here (except for Greek House and THIS wonderful addition). Rock N Roll Cafe is a very unsuspecting powerhouse of a "burger joint," and they score high marks in every category. First of all, each employee, for the 2 times I've now been there, has been extremely friendly, helpful and with a smile. It's nice getting a warm welcome... and for those who are regulars, they are even nicer. It's got that small town feel where people take the time to get to know you, like it matters, like YOU matter. Especially in this day and age, and especially living in a metropolis like Los Angeles, we don't usually know from that kind of behavior. As for the food, all I have to say is WOW !! I never thought I'd crave having a burger, but even after the first bite, I stopped in my tracks and looked up at my husband and said, "This is REALLY good." I truly wasn't expecting it, but that burger had incredible flavor, and it was juicy as all get-out. I don't know what they did to make such a great burger, but it was delicious !! I guess the pig in me thinks the burgers are just a tad on the smallish side, BUT I have never left hungry. It's probably an optical illusion because I don't want the burger to disappear in the first place, and I usually eat it faster than most things because it is so tasty. I got my burger with fries, and they were just as tasty. What really bowled me over, though, was that they AUTOMATICALLY served Ranch dressing with the fries.... and NOT just store-bought Ranch, but Ranch that was made from scratch. Sure, many places make Ranch from scratch, but VERY FEW bring it as a condiment... automatically, as part of an order, without having to ask... or ask for extra. It's just there. I happen to LOVE Ranch dressing with my fries, so I'm super-impressed by that gesture. The only thing I would recommend is that they keep an eye on their ketchup containers. For the couple dozen they have for the taking, most of them were left empty, and we had to check waaaay too many of them before finding one that had anything in it. It's not enough of an issue to mark them down, but I figured I'd mention it in the hopes that someone would take note for the future. The service was friendly and the ambiance was what is expected as a themed diner/cafe. Except the music was contemporary rock rather than the 60' that the theme of the restaurant (not a deal breaker for me) it's still good music. The food was cooked to order and very good. My burger was juicy and well done. The veggies on both our orders were fresh! My moms hot dog was great with bun to dog ratio! I got nervous. I'm so glad I was wrong! Husband had the cheese steak and onion rings, I ordered the Cobb. The Cobb came out FRESH... the salad greens were great, but let's be honest... who's eating a Cobb for the greens? The bacon was crisp, the avocado was perfect, and the blue cheese...omg, that blue cheese slapped!! I looked up to ask Husband how his cheesesteak was, but to my dismay he had devoured it... I really wanted a bite. I have 2 regrets. 1) I don't have more stomach space, and 2) put a dessert on the menu. We will be back! read more

Came here last week with the boyfriend and some friends. It's pretty much all American style food, burgers, salads, etc.. a lot of stuff has meat in it. Though they did have some vegetarian options. I would say however they are a little pricy for a diner. The restaurant itself looks big from the outside, but is quite small with some tables out front and just in case you really need to pee, expect a wait.. there's only one bathroom. Now onto the food: I couldn't really find anything I like, the menu is small so I ended up just getting a kids grilled cheese with fries. Nothing special. The boyfriend got a turkey cobb salad. Great food great super friendly staff. For less than McDonald's or Carl's jr. you can get a full meal with much better quality ingredients. I even add avocado and it is STILL less than those fast food joints. They're very fast and everything is made fresh. It's a bright and cheery location pretty popular with the locals. This last time I visited I felt like my patty was a bit thinner than it's been other times, but it could be my imagination so I will update next time I come. Also I added a picture of Styrofoam cups it would be great if they could get rid of those because they don't biodegrade and aren't recyclable. They're terrible for the planet.
