With that in mind, it took about twice as long as the estimate was to move everything. even though I packed everything myself. with double drive time (required by CA law) it ended up being over 12 hours, so the final charge was almost twice as much as the estimate. and there was only 1 container with dishes that was completely shattered. They probably dropped it or dropped something on it, but didn't say anything. I only found out later at night when I was unpacking it. Otherwise they were awesome. They did not waste any time. They were working very hard all day. so if you get an estimate, double it, as with all the wrapping and protecting your stuff, it takes much longer. They offered me an option not protecting my stuff, but I chose to have it protected.

We sent our kitchen assembly instructions ahead of time to make sure they were aware. My overall sense is that Carlos is fairly capable and experienced but either his team or him are not as careful as we had damages to our finished wood toe kicks and our lacquer cabinets looked like they had been dragged over nails as they were being assembled. I didn't appreciate that they made 0 mention of it at all and I had to point it out. As the homeowner, I essentially had to baby sit them for 5 days through the install since it felt like they were incapable / unwilling to read the kitchen cabinet installation instructions in detail and I caught several mistakes early on during the cabinet assembly that made me hesitant to leave it unattended. Carlos's attitude was particularly bad through the entire experience as well. Always made it seem like we were inconveniencing him or being too nit picky even if we caught some mistakes. At one point, he even threatened to quit after the assembly but before the installation simply because he had underestimated the complexity of the project. We did have a 1 day delay due to some plumbing / electrical issues but that's pretty typical as far as kitchen cabinet installations go AFAIK. In the end, they were able to get all the kitchen cabinets installed, albeit with a lot of effort from my end due to the more custom nature of the project. The price was affordable and the work was solid (minus the scratches) but for me the bad attitude wasn't worth it.

I ended up going with Same Day Dumpster and was very pleased with the experience. Erick was by far the quickest to reply, his responses were the most professional of the bunch, and his pricing was well defined. He was a little bit more expensive than some of the other quotes that came in, but the quotes I received from other providers were pretty nebulous and seemed to have other strings attached that could potentially drive the price up beyond the quoted price. In any case, I had the dumpster in and out in one day, but Erick did offer the flexibility to keep the dumpster on site for multiple days if needed without driving up the quote, which I appreciated. The drop off and retrieval were both right on time as scheduled by Erick. No issues! PS - If you live in a townhome complex situation where it's hard to see / identify street numbers, I would advise making sure to be on site when the dumpster delivery comes in. If I hadn't been there to direct the driver, the dumpster would have ended up in my neighbor's driveway.

These boys are the sweetest angels. I would give them 6 stars if I could. Raymundo and his crew helped me move from San Francisco to Oakland last week and did such an incredible job. They were efficient and professional. The entire move was done in under 3 hours. Here are the details: I filled out the questionnaire on Yelp, and received a response from Ray almost immediately. We booked the move 2 weeks out. I provided some information to him, like what floor I was moving from and to, and where to park his moving truck. I did the packing myself - Ray gave me some tips on how to do it efficiently to make their job easier. The day before the move I called to confirm the appointment with Raymundo. The next morning, he and the crew arrived promptly at 9 AM (!) The crew was very professional and careful with our stuff. Ray came to oversee the move, but didn't charge for his time. I really appreciated him talking to us and explaining the process. Anyway, the crew filled the truck with our stuff, drove it to my new place and moved the boxes inside. The elevator at the new place was broken, but the crew handled the top floor move quickly and professionally. We were all done by 11:45 AM, 15 minutes quicker than we expected. I honestly couldn't recommend Rock 'n' Roll Moving more. read more

One of my large furniture pieces ended up being quite the hassle to move, and honestly, I did not hear or feel any negativity from them about the unexpected inconvenience. They were so patient. One was good and fast, the other was clearly new and needed constant instruction from the other lady, slowing down the process. As a result, when they left after 5 hours, there was still packing for us to do. Moving day we were unpleasantly told that their regular truck was broken, so they were going to use a smaller U-Haul to move our stuff. The truck they rented was too small to carry all of our stuff, and the movers probably spent an hour or two trying to rearrange the furniture to try to make it fit. Finally, they decided that two trips were necessary. Ryan's Express Moving did not charge us for the time for the second trip, but it was still a 12 hour move (they charged us 9 hours) to move a one bedroom apartment into a two bedroom townhouse less than an hour's drive away. Mind you, the apartment had a dedicated moving elevator with direct access to the moving truck, and the truck parked right in front of the townhouse. That's a slow move. In general, I've always had good luck with my movers, but my husband always has bad luck, and Ryan's Express Moving extended his unlucky streak.

I would recommend PacksPlus to anyone, without hesitation. We were dealing with a stressful move: tight timing and all the usual concerns about damage, cost creep, and things going sideways. From the first call, Jim stood out. Clear, realistic, no overselling. He gave a cost range that made sense--and they actually came in at the lower end. Gotta love that! On moving day, the team showed up on time, ready to go, and fully dialed in. They worked efficiently but never in a way that felt careless. Everything was handled with attention: furniture protected, walls respected, nothing treated like it was disposable. What really stood out was the balance: fast, but careful. Professional, but genuinely friendly. You can tell these guys have done this a lot. Bottom line: they did exactly what they said they would do. Pretty cool, these guys. If you're trying to choose a mover and feeling overwhelmed i have felt your pain...All i can say is you can stop looking. It's like finding a good mechanic...you hold on to them...they become your go-to. Wow. These guys really came to the rescue for us…read more I had a few PODS arrive late and another moving company couldn't help us out anymore because of the delay. I'm a computer guy (as in: kinda weak and doughy) so unloading a 2 bedroom house at 3pm on a Friday afternoon was not going to be possible. I had an angry wife and a 3 month old baby who needed me to get the stuff into the new house so they could have a proper place (not another hotel) to sleep that night. The other moving company surprisingly referred us to Packs Plus, who showed up with 3 huge guys. They didn't walk, they RAN our heavy stuff up the steep driveway into the house, assembled some furniture and told jokes all along the way. I can't recall a time in my life where I've seen movers work as hard as they did. They were friendly, absolutely trustworthy and of course, capable. The hourly rate was reasonable, but when you factor in how efficiently they completed the job, it was a very good value. Although Packs is a newer moving company, they are highly recommended by us (check us out, we have 300+ Yelp reviews, so we are legit) and they can use us as a reference any time. We will need to move again in a few months and there is absolutely no doubt who we will be calling.

The three movers who did come were very nice and polite but they did an atrocious job of packing our things. Our truck arrived in Boston a few days ago and many of our items are broken or damaged. They secured our truck with bunjee cords instead of straps so there was lots of shifting in the truck. Unfortunately, they chose not to wrap at all our expensive wooden items and ALL of them have been damaged either by rubbing or by grease stains that we cannot remove from the wood. Two lamps are broken, a chair is broken, a book shelf is broken and every bed frame and bookcase has deep grease stains on it. We were so puzzled unpacking the truck - for some reason, our couch pillows were wrapped carefully in moving blankets but our wooden standing lap was just thrown in the truck (and was broken). Our winter jackets (which easily could have been put in a suitcase) were carefully packed in a wardrobe box but our fancy dress clothes were scrunched in boxes. It was as if they had no common sense. All of my husbands suits, dress shirts and dress pants were literally thrown into a box and arrived completely crumpled AND my husbands best suit and my WEDDING DRESS were in a heap on the bottom of a box with full bag full of the bathroom trash on top! Maybe my bad, but I didn't realize that I would have to remove the trash from the house prior to the movers arriving because if I didn't the movers might pack it (on top of my wedding dress, no less). I mean, it was pretty obviously trash. Worst of all, I contacted Brian after we arrived here to tell him about the condition of our items and ask for compensation. He never responded. I give Riteway one star because they did return one day after our move to repair the three stairs that they totally destroyed when dropping my desk down the stairs (!!). Although the repair job was not as high quality as we would have liked, they were efficient and kind about it.

Every piece of furniture was wrapped in pads and shrink-wrapped. Nothing was damaged in our move. We had done all the packing but Gilberto and team had a few extra boxes (which we ended up needing). They also had all equipment and material needed (pads, tap, dollies, straps, etc). They worked very hard and we were done in about 10h (moving a 5 bedroom house). Gilberto also provided a great price and there were no surprises when the bill came. Would highly recommend Gilberto and team for your local move.
