I have been wanting to try Chicken Salad Chick for sometime now. I mentioned it to my husband the other day and he happened to spot one as we were driving by and pulled in. It was right around noon and not very busy, which was nice. We walked right up to the register and was greeted very warmly by a delightful employee. I ordered a croissant sandwich with the cranberry Kelly and two sides, the grape salad and a bowl of loaded potato soup. My husband ordered the croissant sandwich with Dixie Chick salad and grape salad. Grape salad is phenomenal, loaded potato soup is divine but my chicken salad was lackluster in flavor. I expected a sweeter more vibrant cranberry flavor but this was just flat and blah. I did enjoy the poster in the bathroom that said something to the affect that if your husband brought you to this restaurant, he must really love you cause you passed a lot of barbecue places on the way! I came here to pick up three large chicken salads to bring home. I enjoy that they have all the options right in the cooler so than you can grab them yourself. I went with the Classic Carol. Kickin' Kay Lynne and the Sassy Scotty. Majority of the flavors I wanted were packaged that day which was great. The options for the Classic Carol however were packaged two days prior. I requested to have a freshly packed one as my husband and I would be having this for the week for lunch. Those packaged in 1/5/2026 are good though 1/9/2026 which would give us enough time to each through threw larger chicken salads together. Upon requesting that, the cashier had to ask the manager or shift lead. Then that the manager or shift lead gave me one. However, that did not come without a bad attitude of her telling me that they like to sell the old ones first. I simply stated to her that I requested a freshly packed one for a reason. I don't feel there should be any pushback when a customer is requesting freshly made food and not something that's been sitting in their fridge for 2+ days. Some training on how to communicate with customers would be great for that manager/shift lead. The chicken salad itself is always good though. When this location opened, food and cleanliness were impeccable. My recent late afternoon visit was like the several visits before this in the last year - lacking. Starting with the quality of the food. The chicken used in the salads continues to have more and more bits of gristle and bone. The pickle is served at room temperature and had a skin that was too tough to bite through. The prepackaged crackers are often broken in small pieces. Lastly, the vinyl table clothes aren't cleaned well between diners leaving stickiness and crumbs behind. I ordered an Olivia's quick chick to take with me. Picked up some Quick Chicks the other day. A small Fancy Nancy for a friend and a large egg salad and a large Kickin Kay Lynne for me. My friend complained about the large, whole grapes (not sliced) in hers. The other add-ins, apple slices and nuts were barely detectable. I thought the egg salad was very average. Not bad and not great, just good. I've made better. I really liked the Kickin Kay Lynne, however! I'd get it again, for sure. Everyone working there was friendly and helpful. They gave me a lot of crackers. Three stars is a little harsh but everything was pretty expensive for what you get. The small is maybe two sandwiches worth and the large doesn't seem very large. Wow! Let me start off with this. Chicken Salad sandwiches are one of my all time favorites and I was so happy to find this place! While pet sitting in McKinney I decided to order The Chick which comes with your choice of any scoop or sandwich topped with lettuce and tomato. I also got a side of fresh fruit salad, a small Macaroni and Cheese and a Coke. For dessert I got two of the Chocolate Marshmallow Crispy Bars to share with my daughter. The Yelp reviews encouraged me to try them, so we did. Definately a cute little lunch spot. We decided to try classics first and then maybe at some point return and try other flavors. We ordered their classic chicken salad, classic egg salad, on top of a classic salad with classic ranch. $12.00 It was .. okay. The chicken salad and egg salad was definitely on the bland side, (a lot of mayonnaise) but nothing about it was "delicious." The classic salad was nothing more than a mix of romain lettuce, a few wedges of cucumber and a few cherry tomatoes. There was hardly a cup of lettuce but more importantly (and my biggest pet peeve) there was too much yellow lettuce, and by the time we picked it all out it reduced the salad to nothing. Next problem was the ranch dressing. It was awful, obviously not made in house. Really? Ranch dressing is not that hard to make. I make it at home all the time so when I eat out I don't want bottled commercial dressing. I'm not sure why, but I assumed this place pride itself on a "made from scratch" menu. As I sat and glanced over to their open kitchen I was disappointed to see many many many canned foods stored in the open. This tells me very little of what they make is fresh. There's too much competition among the restaurants right now regarding made from scratch menus. As a person who's interested in healthy eating options this will not be a place I'd recommend or plan to return too. read more

I surprisingly liked this place a lot. This wouldn't be my normal place to choose to eat; but I really liked it. It's decorated very quaint; gives you vibes of your grandparents place in the early 90's meets a picnic. It makes sense in my head! The menu is super simple and I love that. It's set up sorta like a Jason's Deli where you order and the counter and they bring it out. If you read my reviews I really prefer a sit down restaurant but those are phasing out now. I tried the trio with the Olivia's Old South, Classic Carol, and Fancy Nancy; then ordered a Fruity Fran, egg salad and grape salad. My kids got one kids meal with Mac n Cheese and were able to split it. It comes with a side so I just got another Mac for the side and they each got their own. Everything was tasty y'all; my favorite was the Olivia's old south, and my least favorite was the fancy Nancy but that was still good. Everything else was just as good; the grape salad it's dangerously delicious. If you're looking for chicken salad or just something quick on the go check this place out. Return visit after eating in the last few months at the Frisco location which is closer to our residence. This was the first location we ever came to and it is still doing great. I do love their chicken salad, multiple varieties of it, and their grape salad is fantastic. However today when I ordered a croissant blt, I was unpleasantly surprised to learn that the components of this sandwich aren't even fresh. The bacon looks like it has been pre-made and just sitting there for hours with zero flavor or Texture, the croissant is nowhere near fresh. I don't eat bread often so when I do I want it to be really good. This sandwich was a huge disappointment. Nowhere near worth $12. I got the diva chicken salad which is the cucumber and dill and it was AMAZING. Kinda sad it's just a summer thing. I got the pecan salad on the side with poppy dressing, a little over kill with adding apples to a salad that also has strawberries but over all good. My husband got the sassy chicken salad on the BLT, wasn't a huge fan of his; more savory for my taste. The reason for not giving 5 stars is the consistency of chicken salad on my sandwich vs his was quite drastic. His sandwich didn't have much on it, also the guy at the counter that checked us out was kinda rude (I've been in the SI for years so I get having a bad day). Fast service. I was really excited to try Chicken Salad Chick after listening to a podcast on 'How I Built This' about their founders and have been wanting to try it for a while, but I was deeply disappointed and won't be coming back. Customer Service: First, when taking my order, it took awhile because the employee was having a hard time getting my order inputted and the employee next to her had to help. I assumed it was because she is new and getting trained. Then, one of my sides (scoop of fruity fran) was missing from my to-go order although the receipt was correct, so I had paid for it. When I called to get a refund, they said I need to go back to the restaurant (30 minutes drive for me) since they don't do refunds over the phone. I couldn't go back, so I was stuck with paying for a product that I never received. It seems like the employees overall need more training on fulfilling orders correctly. Food: I ordered a jalapeno holly croissant sandwich and it was too salty for my taste. It's too bad they forgot the scoop of fruity fran I requested as the side, since I may have liked that better. The croissant was also not too impressive. My husband ordered the Dixie chick, which he said was better. The tortilla soup he got on the side and lemonade was the best thing we ordered though. Overall, I unfortunately would not reccomend Chicken Salad Chick. Jason's Deli has better customer service and their chicken salad sandwiches and croissants are much better in taste and quality. read more

So so so so good!!!! They have like 15-20 varieties of chicken salad, so chicken salad for anyones liking. They are generous on the scoop and have good meal options. A little healthier "fast food" type food. We both had a scoop and salad and the salad dressing was fresh and citrus. The meal came w a tiny cookie too, just enough to complete the meal. The menu was a little confusing, but the staff was patient and helpful. They give good portions that will leave you satisfied. There are lots of options on the menu to choose from so it might be a good idea to check it before heading there. I had a sandwich with tortilla soup. Your meal also comes with a cookie which is a nice treat. There is an option to have your bread toasted. Do it. It's so good that way. Look...I know a trend when I see one. I was all over poke while most of you were going "ew...raw fish in a bowl? No thanks" and now I can't throw a stick without hitting one of you at my poke joints. You guys remember when Milli Vanilli came out and you were all "Dammnnnn Gina! This song is my jam!" You had on Hammer Pants and "Blame it on the Rain" was blasting through your Walkman. We loved that song. We couldn't wait to hear more Milli Vanilli. Then NOTHING. NADA. NO MORE MILLI VANILLI FOR YOU. It was a gut punch because we felt like we had been given something new and they gave us just enough to want more. Chicken Salad Chick is Milli Vanilli. You listen to the hype, get super excited by pictures and reviews and in reality it's just some lip syncing dudes, er, chicken and mayo marked up to $8. I've tried only four of the 13 types they have listed, but if all 4 are bland, that's my signal to take off the Hammer pants and get into grunge. The service is abnormally slow (I've been on a weekday during non peak time, a weekend peak and a weekday evening) and they up sell you until you've paid $13 for a complete meal. Tonight I tried the southern style, which is like egg salad that got confused and dressed up like chicken salad and it was not okay. The chicken tortilla soup was bland and it was the smallest portion ever. It's soup! Give it to me by the gallon at these prices! I rarely buy a meal and still end up hungry after, but I did tonight. I get it's a trend and all, but food should taste good too. FYI to the manager of this chain - your workers need to practice manners. If they want to swear like sailors, hell yes I'm down, but they shouldn't be loudly doing it in the restaurant and definitely not THOSE curse words.
