Macadamia Crusted Mahi
Gohar K.

Had a wonderful time with friends at Rock N Fish Friday night. Customer service and ambiance were great. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming and attentive. The decor here is very pleasant and gives good vibes. Right by the pier this restaurant is the perfect place to hang out. The food was mostly good. We ordered a few appetizers, the coconut shrimp was delicious but the artichokes and the calamari were not. I really enjoyed my side wedge salad and the macadamia nut mahi. My husband ordered the jambalaya and liked it. My friend ordered the fish and chips and it was ok, not the best but not bad either. Overall it's a great place to eat at, you won't be disappointed .....great ambiance and great service.

Lobster Roll Ceviche Oyster

This is my second time here and honestly I'm a bit disappointed. First the bartender didn't seem to enthusiastic when asking what beers light beers are best.. The food was very bland and had no seasoning at all to be honest the bread and fries were the best . The oysters didn't taste fresh at all and the cold lobster roll was ok but I'd pass honestly. Overall the locations is nice very great walk to the beach after but I'd probably just get the burger next time .

It was a nice Saturday to try a new seafood restaurant! The food was not the highlight for us but the service and ambiance was perfect. We ordered the calamari for our appetizer - just plays the batter was bland. I ordered the shrimp scampi and my hubby ordered the salmon with veggies. The shrimp scampi could've used more seasoning to bring it the flavor and the same was felt about the salmon dish. Everything was fresh though. Overall, our waitress was super kind, accommodating and attentive thee entire night! I also loved that she offered me a sample of the gumbo before I decided if I wanted to order it and I'm so glad she did bc it didn't have that gumbo flavor I was looking for BUT I wild be interested in returning to try other menu items it just wouldn't be my first choice for seafood.

I had jambalaya with linguine. The food is great service was great. but most important thing is with lots of pasta. My glucose did not spike. I don't know what kind of pasta they use. I definitely will go back to find out.

It was beautiful this past weekend and we had cousins in town. They asked us to meet them at the beach and this place was feet from the strand. Calamari was delicious, French fries always a good choice , Tortilla soup and Lobster Ceviche was so good 8/10 for sure. A nice glass of white wine on this beautiful Saturday. Jill thank you for your service you were amazing. See you guys soon. Thank you!!

One block from the Beach and the strand, the location is hard to beat. Great place to people watch and get something to drink & eat. Can't beat the view. The food: the lobster tacos are good , they look great , just lack a little more flavor. The popcorn lobster is buttery and taste good, just ...The fries are so crispy and well salted, definitely a great lunch order. My brother having the sea bass , said it was fantastic. From the mashed potatoes AND the asparagus as he said is the bomb. The sea bass is killer! The flavors from the sea bass explode in your mouth. Not over powering , just perfectly. The Bloody Mary adorned with olive, pepper, lemon and lime was a perfect complement to the meal. The service, well there was a table of ten seated on the patio as well, thankfully the manager picked up the slack . He brought out the drinks, the food and made sure that everything was great. Made a difference. Definitely recommended

My two guests and I dined here for the first time. Overall it was a decent and worthwhile experience. I'll give you my highs and less than highs. The restaurant is located close to the beach. There are many other nearby restaurants within a couple of short blocks. We parked about 4 blocks away in a parking structure and glad we did because, as we walked to Rock 'N Fish, we didn't see available street parking. I'm rather used to this because finding street parking anywhere in Manhattan Beach business and dining district is always a challenge. My best advice is to know where parking lots and structures are rather than driving around hunting for a place to leave your car. We were greeted by the host at the restaurant. We had a reservation and were seated at a very large and comfortable booth that could have accommodated 6 or even 8 people. I noticed three separate dining areas - one upon entering with informal seating, the main dining room with booths, tables and a bar, and upstairs dining that looked down on the main dining room. Our waiter was very efficient and gave us plenty of time to go through the menu. We started with the Garlic Cheese Toast that was served with tomato sauce. It was a little pricy at $15 but it was very good and fresh and enough to share by two people. The sauce was basically tomato soup and was very flavorful. I had the New England Clam Chowder soup. The server brought it to our table and didn't know who it was for. I told him it was for me and he set it down. But he left the soup spoon at the other far end of the table which was unnoticed even while I was asking our waiter for the spoon. The soup was pretty good, not exceptional and came barely warm (I won't say "cold" but it was just a notch above that level). I've had clam chowder soup at many restaurants and this recipe was filing and full of flavor and essentially met my expectations. We had arrived at 7 pm and, by 7:30 pm, the noise level inside was so energetic that it was nearly impossible to communicate with my guests. I'm not saying this was a bad thing and I only mention it in case people are looking for intimate dining. Two of us had the King Salmon which included two sides. I ordered the dinner salad and baked potato and so did one of my guests. The downer part is the food looked less than appetizing on the plate. The salmon was on the small size and the baked potato had a very rustic appearance. But both were very good. The salmon was cooked properly, pink inside and served at the right temperature. The baked potato was also hot and not overcooked. Looks and presentation aside it was a good meal. My other guest had the Burrata with Braised Leeks and, although we didn't talk about it, he only ate half of it and said he didn't like it. The server who cleaned the table noticed the burrata was only half finished and didn't say or ask anything about my guest's satisfaction. All things considered this is a nice restaurant, especially for those who like the energetic group scene. The food is good, not spectacular and, for the cost, a good deal. I'd say give it a try and, remember, if you drive your car there try to plan ahead and know where to conveniently park.

This is one of those spots that you can go to and enjoy every moment no matter what you're celebrating or if you're just coming to hang out. I can't tell you how awesome the staff is and how good the food is. Love this spot. The crowd is great the views are even better and it's just an all out great time. Wait time is normally 30 minutes. Parking can be a drag. But it only takes about 15 minutes on a busy day to find a spot. You do have to pay for parking.

The price was reasonable factoring in inflation and Manhattan Beach. The Service Score 5/5: The wait staff was friendly, kind and attentive. The Venue Score 5/5: It really has a small tavern/sports bar look and feel. It's small, maybe less than 25 seats. Reservations highly recommended. Father's Day Brunch. Excellent experience. Special two course meal with special menu offerings…read more Seriously, one course is more than enough, we had two plus appetizers! But no worries, we love leftovers! Food is always so creative and wonderful.at Tin Roof. Although we no longer live in Manhattan, still one if our favorite restaurants. Food and service are stellar! We started with cocktails, and of course prepared by our favorite bartender / cocktail specialist extraordinaire, Clark. Off Your Head (Bloody Mary) and Ophella's White Sangria. Both were very tasty! Tin Roof has an excellent cocktail program as does their Simmzy's locations. We started out with Brussel Sprouts. Definitely a hit with the whole table. Tin Roof definitely has the best around, flavorful with a nice crunch, never soggy! We all ordered a variery of starters for our first course. Several had Ceasar Salads. Several had the Watermelon and Feta Salad. One had the Bloddy Mary Deviled Eggs, and another had the Fig; Pistashio, and Cottage Cheese Toast. Everyone loved what they ordered. We were full before our next courses arrived! Our server was Malcolm. He was very attentive even though it was an extremely busy afternoon since it was Father's Day. He was very helpful explaining some of the options only offered on today's menu. They offered a Bistro Burger (five out of six of us ordered!) and I wanted to know how different this burger was from their Simmzy's Burger (my personal favorite). He was spot on, explained it was smokey in flavor and quite different with the pretzel bun. It was so.good, served with fries (best shoestring fries!), onion rings, and piled so high you had to use a fork and knife to eat it! We left beyond full! Definitely we will be back soon!

Ughhh. Bummer experience today, I'm so disappointed…read more I stopped in today, about a month after my last visit. I usually come in Thursday through Saturday, and on Wednesdays when I'm dealing with business stuff. Today I was craving the Bee Sting pizza and my cold Allagash. I made sure to check beforehand that there would be a Happy Hour, but it wasn't until I was ordering that the server told me there's no more Happy Hour on Sundays. Apparently that changed a few weeks back. Either way, I ordered the Bee Sting, an Allagash White, and a soda for my friend. The pizza was a bit dry, with minimal burrata and way too much pepper. I could only get through two slices before my nose started to flare up. So I went for my beer, which is always wonderfully cold. I took one sip and it tasted nothing like my usual. I took a second sip, and it still tasted nothing like an Allagash. I come here often enough to know what's what. I usually get my drinks straight from the bar, or I sit in the area where I know there won't be any mix-ups. When the server finally came around to check on us, I asked him to tell me what beer this actually was. I let him know it wasn't Allagash and asked him to please bring me a sample so I could compare. I told him it tasted like a Mexican lager or a pilsner, but with a terrible skunky taste. He didn't seem to care much. He went to the bar and came back to tell me I was wrong, that the bartenders insisted it was Allagash but that it "now tastes like a pilsner." I was taken aback by that, and by the fact that he never brought me the sample or offered to let me choose another drink. My frustration was high, but I stayed quiet and asked for the bill shortly after. It's a kick in the stomach to be told something is what it clearly isn't, especially when I drink here often and regularly engage with your best bartender, who never disappoints. Shame on me for stopping in on a day when the service had a bit of an attitude and the bar was no help. And honestly, I'd be embarrassed to stand there waiting for a 20% tip after giving that little support, when I didn't eat more than two slices and didn't even want to take the rest home because it was so overdone; however, the way the tip service is added to automatically include it, also not a great experience, no one should feel underpreassure to tip that much for mediocre, or poor service. I've been coming here for a long time and I bring in a lot of people, but today was a letdown. Not a single member of leadership came by to help with the drink or the pizza issue. That's a level of customer service and management engagement I don't usually see missing here.
