I was really hungry after leaving the movie theater and saw this pizzeria at the bus stop. So I popped in for slice. Staff was professional and quick. They have a old, amazing brick oven pizza with 3 tiers! The slice was pretty decent, the only things that was slightly off was the sauce was a little sweet and one of the pizza makers was sick (he was wearing a mask). Pretty good new york slice around Gramercy. I got the margherita and was not disappointed. Came out to around $4 dollars for the slice. Came here today for the first time and had the Penne alla vodka and the ravioli pizza. Each slice was about six dollars. Both slices were very rich and heavy. I was struggling to finish them both, because they were so dense. The ravioli on top of the pizza was high-quality and tasted really good . I would recommend eating the topping on top of the pizza with a fork. The service was OK. The ambience was quite superb. Your average pizza in New York. While more authentic than a handful of pizza places in the city, it is very average. The flavor is decent, not too oily and there are a number of options available. While good, I probably won't remember this place and will choose other pizza places instead of making it a point to return. The service is fast and it's a clean place. Just overall very average. It's definitely your quintessential NY style pizza. No complaints here. My only issue was the wings, which were under seasoned and not crispy. I got the mild wings which I guess means bbq here because that was the sauce on top of the wings. I happen to like bbq wings but the skin on the wings weren't crispy so the sauce kind of sat on top and made it soggy. I had to put the wings in my oven to get them to my liking. I tried this place for their most famous item - the penne alla vodka pizza. It was definitely overrated. The tomato sauce is removed from the slice and is instead topped with a load of pasta and cheese and vodka sauce. Speaking of the vodka sauce, it is actually applied very lightly. As a result, you get mainly cheese and pasta, which makes for a fairly dry and carb-filled slice. In the end, the penne alla vodka pizza is just okay and really just a novelty. For some very interesting as well as juicy and delicious pizza, I would recommend something like Artichoke instead. read more

Saw a video of their establishment online and had bookmarked this place for months until I finally got a chance to go! $5 a slice is pretty high considering all the $0.99 cent pizza places in NYC but it is totally worth the price! We got there around lunch time and the line was out the door but it moved pretty quickly. You let them know what your order is and they bake it in the oven for you. We got a slice of the penne vodka pizza and a slice of the ravioli pizza..... because it's the best of both worlds! Both were delicious but I have to say the ravioli pizza wins my vote. The penne vodka pizza was good but it was just a little too creamy. I probably was also too full from the first slice honestly since they're pretty big slices! I love ricotta on pizza, and the ricotta on the spinach pizza was creamy, and almost sweet. So good! And also had the vodka pizza. At one point, I just waved both of my hands and said...I'M OVER HERE! I ordered a chicken club slice... Whatever - so there were two girls that were ahead of me in line and waiting to pay. The same fool that couldn't keep his attention with me asked the two girls if they were paying for their two slices together or separate. They opted to pay together with credit card, but were surprised when he rang them up at $13.66. Apparently, he decided to throw my chicken club slice in there as well, despite that I was with my friend, ordered separately, and aside from some brief small talk (look at the size of your chicken Caesar slice!), had no affiliation with the two other girls. The worker again showed clear confusion when asked to refund their card, but I just gave the girls the four bucks my slice cost and called it a day. So despite my strange experience (it was definitely something you had to be there for - we were all laughing afterwards), I'd still recommend this place for really good specialty slices, with toppings generously and evenly applied, and relatively good pizza turnaround/freshness. read more
