Great place if you're in the mood for burgers. The restaurant has tons of options to choose from. We decided to order the Royal with cheese and the Bodacious burger. The burgers were a decent size with flavorful bread. I personally wasn't a fan of the spiked ketchup on the burger (it tasted very similar to bbq sauce in my opinion). The Bodacious had a nice spicy kick and crunch, and surprisingly didn't taste too much like bbq sauce although it was in the added ingredients. We also ordered a basket of fries, which was more than enough for two people. The location is conveniently near many other bars, so it's easy to grab a drink nearby if you're in the mood. The service was great, and the ambiance was very casual and family friendly. So it's safe to say, we will definitely be returning. The only con I would say is the parking. Be prepared to either street park or pay for lot parking. read more

This is my favorite burger place now in H-town. Hands down. Parking at noon on a Tuesday was across the street ($4 for an hour) and we were able to find a space. The moment we walked in I loved the vibe, decor, feel and sparklingly clean everything. I'd already read how the place was named so when i spotted the stuffed goat with a saddle on it I only loved the place more. Service: JD is a rockstar. I am biased about servers in tshirts being more hit or miss than those wearing catering black and whites but he was just awesome. Personable, friendly, knowledgeable, quick but not rushing us, just so so great. When our order was ready other servers brought it to the table which tells me the back of house is a team and everyone helps everyone and I love that because I am uber picky about my french fries being straight out the grease hot LOL Food: i opted for a build your own situation (did not see on menu but JD made it happen) with cheese and bacon and when that round tower of delicious came to the table and from the first bite it was like OH MY YUM. They use 44 farms beef (iykyn) and i could taste it through the freshness and seasoning in it and it was juicy without being a greasy mess (no judgement on those who love a greasy mess you need a bib to eat but i can't do that at lunch time on a workday. But it was really the hand cut fries with cheese that stole the show. The temperature, texture and taste (the 3 T's) were so so perfect and that ranch that came on the side blew me away. I asked JD if it was made in house and he said yes and i was like mmhmm knew it. So so good (he gave us a container to get our take home leftover fries in because that is the kind of ranch you swirl thy fry along the sides to get the last of it it was that good) Portion size: what you would expect in a craft burger. Your sides are ordered separately and a modest charge even dressed up for a "half order" when they came to the table me and my friend thought they had made a mistake because a half order would have easily fed both of us. Easily. Wednesday is the full order for half price fry special and a full order would probably handle a table of 4 average eaters. Not you hunger busters! Solid 4 stars. Nice space inside and out for large groups. Full bar and nice urban vibe. Had a Saturday lunch. Got burgers and bacon cheese fries, no surprise. Nice selections of interesting burgers. Not just your run of the mill bacon and cheddar. We had the Boadacious. American , Bacon, Crispy onions, pickles, smoked jalapeno may and BBQ sauce. Honestly one of the best burgers I have had in a while. I was also able to sample the Burger of the month the Lolly, Jalapeno bacon, pimento cheese, arugula, raspberry chipotle sauce, on brioche. This was also a very very good burger One of the interesting things the Goat does is have 2 unique burgers each month that battle. For the most orders. All the burgers are between $12-$15, they are are about average size, but the ingredients are quality. I can say that these are some of the better burgers that I have had in quite a while. The cheese fries were also good, they came with finely dices bacon and real shredded cheese melted on top. the regular order is enough for 2 or 3 people to split. Everything food wise was very good, however the service could have been a little better. we had a bit of a wait before anyone took our drink order and when the food came it was missing the fries, so we had to wait a bit more on them. I think if you are in the area catching a soccer or baseball game, this is a great place to get a burger before or after. Keep in mind parking can be a little tight in the area, and if you cannot find street parking you may have to use the pay lot. I would recommend and return. read more

Great burgers, amazing salad, good French fries, and a great vibe! Went with a group of 5 to try this burger joint while visiting Houston. We ordered three burgers and the cowboy Cobb salad, with a side of French fries and the seasonal GOAT balls for dessert. Everything was really good. It's a casual, seat yourself place with a great outdoor patio. They had a good selection of beer and cocktails, too. The salad was the massive and so filling. I was in the mood for a good bowl of Texas chili and a search came up with Rodea Goat. I guess a good bowl of Texas chili has gone out of fashion as there were surprisingly few recommendations. I was very happy that I tried Rodeo Goat's chili. It was outstanding!!!!! Thick, beefy and tasty. If you are worried that it is too spicy - it is not. Nice chili flavor, but I added some Tabasco, and it was perfect!!! They also have great burgers, and I am looking forward to coming back. Pros: Great food. Very good table service. Although the building, from the outside, is unimpressive, the interior has great industrial feel. The building was formerly a warehouse building and they kept the industrial look. In fact, one of the seating areas is down in the old truck bay. Cons: I found the actual building a bit hard to find. It is located at the corner of two streets, but the signage is easy to miss, and I went around the building a couple of times before I saw it. Rodeo Goat does not have its own parking, but there is street parking and a parking lot across the street. I paid $5 for one hour of parking in the parking lot. The street parking is also metered but may be a bit cheaper. read more

All of the burgers I have had here were very good! The french fries were amazing - and they're large orders of fries, which is good, since they don't come with the burger, but are ordered as a side. The service was quick and the waiter was attentive. I was here in the daytime, so it was relatively quiet at my last visit. Given the area, if it is at night or if a sporting event is on at any of the nearby stadiums, it gets pretty busy. read more

First time here. Have passed it many a time while going to events at Warehouse Live and the Secret Group. The extensive menu makes it tough to pick, in a good way. Lots of ways to satisfy your burger cravings, although in my case I ordered the BFG, their take on a fried chicken sando, which was superb. The Cheese Fries Surprise was also good, even a half order was huge, although the toppings were slightly drier than expected. Would not order again, unless it was just that and maybe a dessert as it was too much with the BFG. Would definitely go again. A general caution about the area, be wary of parking. Luckily found a free spot (metered street parking is free,) but the "parking attendant" in the lot literally next to my spot tried to convince me that the lot was safer, and was more than pushy about it (and a nearby sign indicated not to pay the lot attendant). This place was packed the day of an Astros game, and rightfully so, this place is really good. Waited a bit, but again it was because this place was filed. Sat after 20 minutes and got the Royale burger with fries. This burger was cooked perfectly and it was delicious. Good beer/ cocktail menu was great as well. read more

It wasn't juicy. It wasn't favorable. The bread was just bread and the veggies didn't pop. It was a cheese burger. I did like the environment. It is lively and spacious. Since the wifey is a true Texan, of course we have to try a burger place called "Rodeo Goat!" First off, the bacon cheese fries were amazing! So I'm thinking if the burgers are 1/2 as good as the fries I need to become part owner! I got the battle of the burgers King Tuck burger and it wasn't great and it wasn't terrible. (Kinda reminded me of my first marriage) since everything on the menu seems to have jalapeños on it, I thought there must be something special about their jalapeños so I ordered their burger that comes with two different types of jalapeños on it. Guess what? I learned jalapeños are good but a double dose is really kinda overkill. I also thought the burger patty size was a little small. I think this could be a cool place if they just expanded their fry selection, because who wouldn't come out for some rodeo fries? Fun side note, we parked in the lot across the street, and tried to pay at the machine, but the machine was broken. So when we came back out we learned they booted our car. F*** that, I know in the end it's our fault but this experience was so frustrating that we will not be coming back to this restaurant. read more

It hurts my heart to give these 3 stars we've been coming to rodeo goat for the past 2 years and had deemed it our favorite burger place. In the past it has been a fun, casual atmosphere with good service, food, and brews. But today, it wasn't the goat we remember. Our fries came out cold, like made several hours ago cold. I've been craving a burger for my cheat meal and I am so glad I chose Rodeo Goat. I ordered the Royale with Cheese Burger and it was very good. The jalapeño bacon was a bit salty but had a good flavor. My patty was not over cooked and was very juicy. Not sure why their ketchup is called "spiked ketchup" but it was not over powering, tasty and had a spicy bbq flavor. I prefer thick cut fries over shoe string, but their sweet fries were a good portion and delicious. Most of all my brioche bun was not soggy. It was sweet and nicely toasted. read more

I was at a nearby bar when I had grown a huge appetite. I had paid quite a bit for parking at a nearby lot so I was adamant about eating somewhere within walking distance. We stumbled across Rodeo Goat and I was pretty satisfied with the visit. The service was great, well our server at least. He let us know the burgers were a la carte and cooked medium (or medium well, I can't remember). I decided to order the whiskey burger after asking the server his opinion. It has Irish whiskey cheddar, candied bacon, blackberry compote, shredded lettuce, and whole- grain mustard. It was appropriately sized but I could have stood to order a side of fries. I don't think the burger tasted as good as it sounded but it was certainly still a good pick. I was told it's one of their most popular burgers at both the Houston and Dallas locations. My friend order the cheese fries surprise which were chili cheese fries with bacon and jalapeños. I was able to try them and they were good. It was definitely a shareable size. All in all, I enjoyed Rodeo Goat and the scenery. I wouldn't mind returning if in the area or near their Dallas location. read more

Missed this spot on our last couple of visits but made it out here on a Monday evening around 6. Spacious dining area with a large outdoor seating area. Not busy and quiet for our visit. We found parking (street) quickly but would imagine can be tricky during peak. Contactless menu with a good selection of beer and cocktails. They have burger battles and on this evening "Hatch me if you can" was beating "Wildfire." We ordered a mix of burgers-Bodacious, Marvin Zindler, Oaxaca, And River Oaks C.C. These aren't huge burgers and more about the flavors the different topping combinations offer. Grass-fed beef was good. My Oaxaca burger was a bit dry. Patty was a chorizo beef mix so had to be cooked well done. Enjoyed the Tabasco Mayo that came with the Oaxaca Burger. Beef burgers were supposed to be cooked medium but all came out medium well. Hand cut fries were excellent. Extra star for the service which was attentive and upbeat with some engaging conversation. Looks like weekends would be fun here when there is a bigger crowd. read more

This is one of my favorite spots in Houston and every time I am pleasantly surprised. It's in a super great location, close to Minute Maid Park. Most recently, a group of my friends and I came here for my going away dinner. I got the Dapper Dawn Cocktail and the Chaca Oaxaca and my friend and I split the Cheese Fries No Surprise (the surprise is chili). The drinks here are always amazing and reasonably priced; the first time I came here I think my the end my group had tried the entire drink menu. The Dapper Dawn in my personal favorite, but everyone else really like the May(ra) Tai. The Chaca Oaxaca burger is amazing. The blend of beef and chorizo is delicious. I normally do not eat beef, but I broke my rule just to enjoy this burger. The Cheese Fries No Surprise were also really good, but they are HUGE. Definitely need to split with someone else to finish it. The ambiance here is also fantastic. Every time I've gone, I've sat outside. They have really large picnic tables and some typical bar games on the patio. Cannot recommend this place enough. read more

I usually don't like cheesy fries because they always use that liquid nacho cheese and the fries get wet but they used real cheese here and it was amazing! Not a big drinker anymore but this place has HH and game day specials as well so definitely a good deal if you're coming here to pregame before the higher prices in the stadium. Service was great. I was greeted right away by the waitstaff and they constantly checked up on my party and refilled our sodas without us needing to ask. I was a little bit disappointed with my burger, but not to the point where I didn't eat it. I thought my patty was a bit too salty and that ultimately took away from the rest of the burger. I dipped in bbq sauce to help give some flavor but wow, the patty was not seasoned and I didn't taste any flavor from the items listed to give this burger it's wow factor. It wasn't juicy or super tender or anything to write home about. The fries were delicious, the sweet potato fries and regular. Both great. This is a nice, oven concept seating, load, hip hangout spot for 20's-30 crowd. They do serve alcohol & music is playing fairly loud, so if your looking for quiet, not here.
