I can't say it was the best burger I've ever had though.. I'm not sure if it's the seasoned beef patty that didn't stand out or the ratio or meat to bun to add-ons on off. But it was just good, not memorable. The steaming pile wasn't crispy and it tasted a bit greasy. Came here with my friends on a Sunday night and the place was ample. They had both outside and indoor seating, and it is seat yourself. Food: I ordered the Royale with Cheese burger. I did swap the chopped onions for grilled onions and added mayo to my burger. Although the burger was nice, I did feel it was missing something. Next time, I would add in some spice like jalapeños or Fresno peppers. My friends had an order of the Cheese Fries No Surprise and really enjoyed them. One of my friends ordered the Hot Bastard and the burger was too spicy for her (and she loves spice). Another one of my friends ordered the Sugar Burger and said they would not be ordering that again. My other friend ordered the Bodacious and LOVED IT. We also ordered some deserts. We had the churro goat balls, the cow patty, and the goat balls. I personally really enjoyed the churro goat balls! I would order them again. My friends really enjoyed the goat balls and none of us liked the cow patty. I would not recommend the cow patty to anyone as it was quite dry. This is one of my favorite burger places of all time! Faux meat is hard to get right. I've had the Impossible burger done by Hopdoddy and I've tried making it at home, but neither comes close to Rodeo Goat. I don't know what they're doing but they 100% fool me with the Impossible patty. The only difference between it and real meat to me is that the "meat" doesn't fall apart due to the lower juiciness, but despite that, this truly is my favorite option for a meatless burger. They have all sorts of burger toppings from savory to sweet. The fries are "hand punched" and have that perfect balance of crisp and soft bits. They have a burger battle every month to keep things fresh, where two off-menu burgers go head-to-head and the winning burger stays on to take on a new option the next month. Their tap list is longer than some of the lists at bars, and they actually have beers I'd drink. There's a cocktail menu too but I haven't given those a try yet. Most of the burgers are around $10 but they are on the heftier side. Parking isn't the best due to the area but that's the only downside to me. Just pick a day when there isn't a sporting event and you should be fine. :) read more

I want to say that this is the best burger place in Houston that I've tried so far. It's been on my radar for 3-4 years, but I didn't try until we had an unofficial Yelp event (UYE) for burger of the month (BOTM) hosted by Olivia. Throwing out acronyms for those who don't know. It was cold and rainy, but there was a great turnout. I had the King Tuck burger from the battle of the burgers. It beat out the previous challenger, so it's still up there! It was so nice, I had it twice. It's called Fire in the Hole in other locations around Dallas. I love the jalapeño poppers, bacon, and pepper Jack cheese. The fresh jalapeños is what gives it that kick cause the seeds. The brioche buns complete the burgers. The hand punched fries are my fave, too. Perfectly crispy and seasoned well. Great dipped in ranch or ketchup. Their homemade ranch is one of the best I've had. Add it to your burger, if you like. I'll have to come back to try their beer-battered onion rings on Wednesdays. One of these days, I'll try a different burger. I hear good things about the whiskey burger, ranch house, and nanny goat. My friend who was visiting from Austin had the Cowboy Cobb salad. Huge portion of marinated steak, greens, and all the special toppings. Our server, Nick, was awesome and attentive during the UYE. I asked about their sour beers. The Valet parking doesn't start until 4PM and it was only 2:30. The little girl from Valet rapidly approached saying only Valet and was calling the tow company. She was taking pictures of all cars that were parked legally on the street except hers which was double parked! Reported her the manager and she spoke with her. All she did was try a shoved a picture of her city permit. Ironically she would not let her read it or myself after we left. It's a shame that great facilities have to put up with companies trying to scam the public on city streets. When we did leave at 3:30 the valet service was already set up and charging people before 4pm. Pictures show what to watch out for. Valet person who will threaten to tow your car during the time frame that is NOT valet. Will not show you permit and cannot even read the sign ahead it point at!!! I have been a monthly regular at the rodeo goat in Dallas when I lived there, and I'm pleased to announce that the Houston location lives up to its name and is just as good. My friend and I got the two battle of the goat burgers and both of them are unique and delicious. The staff here are really nice and even explained the various homemade sauces available when I was looking around at the sauce station. There are plenty of seating, but my biggest complaint is that there aren't a lot of free parking in the area.
