I want to give a shout out to our server from last Friday. We came in during a really busy time and the place was packed. When she asked my son that is autistic what he wanted to drink he replied with what he always does, pink lemonade. She politely told him that they don't sell pink lemonade. He again asked for pink lemonade. Our wonderful, outside the box thinking waitress suggested to my wife that maybe she could add some grenadine to make it pink! Genius. Every time I go here I swear it's always hands down the best burger I've had in a long time, and let's just say I eat at a lot of burger joints. It's not the cheapest burger but they are huge so you do get what you pay for. My wife and I always order two different ones, cut in half and split them. We went here during happy hour with my co workers. I can not drink alcohol with my coworkers due to my gout issues and I can only have water. I ordered the chaco oaxaca which is a fried egg, beef, chorizo, quesco fresco burger. I wish they gave you fries with the meal, but my manager did help us order the chips with the queso and the cheese fries. The service was outstanding as the waitress came in and was friendly. We were here for 3 hours. Prices were not too bad though as it was $11 dollars and then I gave her a 3 dollar tip. read more

I was really excited to eat here, the menu looks amazing. At the door they told us we could sit wherever we wanted, we asked if that included outside, so we went to the patio area and found a seat. There were 3-4 servers coming and going and helping tables all around us but no one came to see us. We went inside and asked multiple times if someone was going to take our order and were told they'd send someone right out. We sat and watched people who arrived after us get their drinks and we hadn't even been acknowledged yet. I don't know if the server in our section was just incompetent or if we were intentionally being ignored? My friend went to ask for the 3rd time and finally got up and just let them know we were leaving. Disappointing, but won't go back because that was a terrible first impression. Fun ambiance (both indoor and outdoor), great service and drinks, ample parking, and large variety of burgers including a fun rotating showdown between two new burgers on the top of their menu. Sometimes these creation they can be really good (I got this amazing chorizo avocado burger last visit). Their sides are no joke either. Love their regular fries with its partial skin-on texture. Or you can go all out with their surprise fries if you have a group. The only downside is that some of their burgers and sides can be too salty for me. Rodeo Goat is always awesome. I love the sugar burger so much that I refuse to try any other burgers - ok, I will have a bite of someone elses but they just do not compare! The sugar burger has the perfect combination of flavors with the caramelized onions, glazed peaches, delicious bun...I've even added bacon before to treat myself. I brought my family on this particular occasion and we played the ring toss game for what seemed like forever. It's a great way to pass the time while waiting for your food or for a seat. read more

I have been to Plano Rodeo Goat since they opened. It is conveniently located, in a nice setting with indoor and outdoor sitting next to a wooded creek. The burgers have been as good as many other specialty burger joints. Service was usually good enough. The last time I visited in the late afternoon on Sunday, the service and burger were horrible. First the waiter seemed indifferent and looked tired. We ordered the drink first, and I asked for an ice tea with lemon. So, he brought my ice tea and then I asked for the lemon. He went back and grabbed a slice of lemon with one hand while the other hand was holding his electronic gadget for the food order.!!! I then asked to have a couple more slices. he went back and grabbed 2 more slices in the palm of his bare hand and gave it to me. Then we ordered a couple of burgers and also two kid's meals. I ordered the burger cooked rare because I knew they usually overcooked it a bit. When my burger came, it was well-done when I cut the meat patty. I showed it to the waiter and he agreed it was not even close to rare, and he went back to the kitchen. In the meantime, while waiting I grabbed the manager on duty and complained to him about the well-done burger and the handling of lemon slices. He then asked if I still wanted the burger. Of course, I said yes, I told him I still needed to eat. The manager finally brought the burger and asked me to check if it was done correctly now. Yes, it was rare and correct, but then everyone has finished their meals and just waiting for me to eat. After I finished, I asked for the bill, and the waiter showed up and just said I owed him ~$46 plus some changes. He never showed me the details (like the paper bill, which later the manager told me they don't do that anymore!!!). I handed the waiter a $50 bill, and never saw him back again with the change!!! When I left, I grabbed the manager on duty and told him the whole dining experience which was pretty bad. I told him the handling of lemon slices was unsanitary and the waiter needed to be re-trained. He then defended the cook for over cooking the burger because the cook had to flip so many burgers! But when we were there, the restaurant was only 30% full at 4:30 pm. I said I didn't appreciate that everyone was waiting for me to eat my burger. There was no excuse for the cook not being able to fill the correct order. I told him that in many restaurants I went, when something like this happened, they usually wrote off the mishandled dish. But the reply I got was: "you did eat the burger, didn't you?" Is this Rodeo Goat going downhill and becoming complacent for their success in this venue? I hope the Rodeo Goat management will address these issues before they keep losing customers in the future. read more

OMG OMG OMG! YUM! if ya want a good burger- this is a definite top 3 on the list! I am all about flavor explosions and unique combinations and Rodeo Goat did not disappoint! They also have homemade chips- a sweet version and a savory version- ahhh-mazing! I had the Bad Hombre burger and it was cooked perfectly and superbly flavorful. If ya haven't tried this lil jewel yet, ya need to put it in your rotation! They have several locations in DFW. I am a big fan of "Kenny's Burgers" and I can't believe I am saying this... but I think Rodeo Goat may be just slightly better!! read more

OMG! We came back to get a burger tonight & watch the basketball play-off game. Ordered drinks first, I got the Dapper Dawn & my husband had a Crown on the rocks with a splash of Sprite. Our drinks were delicious!! Our bartenders Tracy & Dale took great care of us. Our burgers were cooked to perfection, the Hot Bastard was amazing, habanero cheddar, marinated Fresno peppers, bibb lettuce, beefsteak tomato, onions, and Fresno aioli!! Rodeo Goat is one of my favorite burger spots in Dallas! I've been to several locations but most often frequent the Plano location. This time my husband and I tried the battle of the burgers - the truffle shuffle and the lolly. Both were so delicious and cooked perfectly! We tried ordering online but I was unable to select a pick up time. I tried calling but was put on hold for 10 minutes, so we ended up ordering in person. I also did not like the lack of descriptions for the non-burger menu items on the PDF version of the menu. For example they have several appetizer options but no description like the cheese fries surprise vs. the cheese fries no surprise. (The difference is chili) The cheese fries surprise were okay - not my favorite type of loaded fries. The fries tasted bland on their own and I could have used more sauce or cheese or something to make them taste better. Definitely would come back for the burgers! read more

Excellent Bodacious, just like at the Cypress location. Service a little questionable. Our server was cross and absent most of the night. He was busy drinking from the soda fountain on the opposite side of the floor. When we asked for additional napkins he threw them down at us. This has always been my favorite burger place, but recently their service has been suffering tremendously. We've been three times in the last six weeks, and each time service was worse than previous. I drive by this place everyday after work and finally decided to stop by and check it out. The name obviously is what drew my attention to it. It has a lot of potential. It's a cool vibe and what not, i like the space. Went for happy hour after work, the drinks are reasonably priced As for the food....I was not a fan. I ordered the Normandy which was competing with another burger to be voted to see which one would win so I was prepared to be blown away when it came because I figured it just had to be delicious. I was wrong. The burger had all of the right stuff on it: grilled onions, bacon, spinach, fried cheese - should've been a winner but I was surprised to see that it was dry and the meat had absolutely no seasoning on it. So I was pretty disappointed. The service was excellent though. The employees seem to be enjoying their work environment and were all upbeat and helpful. If you go, sit in Shelby's section because she will take great care of you. The bodacious had fried onions that tasted amazing w the meat. The DCC burger was a good regular burger. The wild fire had flavors that complimented each other with a bit of spicy kick. The burgers are excellent, the fries are excellent, and the fried pies are pretty great too. I'm definitely going again. I've been there twice and the first time I had the White Animal. Excellent burger but a little too sweet for my preference. So, the second time I went I ordered the Blue Goat and I have yet to have any other burgers on their menu after these two, but that one is gonna be hard to top. The bleu cheese flavor on it was proper. Often times I'll get a burger with bleu cheese on it and I'm left wanting more of that flavor. Not the case with the Blue Goat. The blend of flavors on it is nearly perfect. The staff does a good job too, but with a burger place I generally don't care about that too much. It's all about the flavor. I really did not want to like this place, and had avoided their Dallas launch and expansions. Figured it was just another corporate mini-franchise that would fail to impress. I was wrong. Too much for two to split as a pre-burger app. My son told me later I could have ordered a half plate even though it's not on the menu, nice to know for next time. That Hot Bastard is actually hot, not 'sign a waiver hot' but plenty of heat. Napkins required cuz there's a lot going on here, but it did hold together. The wife enjoyed her Sugar Burger, but commented the jalapeno jam was a little hotter than the stuff most folks serve with cream cheese and Ritz crackers. Bottom line, if the burger description sounds a little on the wild side, your burger will live up to expectation ... AND ... requests for medium came medium! As Rodeo Goat expands, some things remain the same - Good burgers and a laid back environment. PLANO DIFFERENCE: The new Plano location offers a much more comfortable setting than the other locations. The community style seating is still there, but this location offers comfortable booths and tables for improved seating. Parking is MUCH better at this location than others as well. Other locations may have updated (unsure). But this location has a kids menu. Slider w/fries or a grilled cheese by itself. Great add for families. FOOD: Surprise Fries. Once you've had these one time, the surprise is gone - They are awesome. The Plano location still does them the right way, while other locations seem to get a little lazy and throw everything on top. Chili (no beans) covered in homemade fries, smother in cheddar cheese and topped with crispy bacon bits. Telluride Burger - Great differentiating flavor. The green chili's and goat cheese combo give a subtle spice cooled quickly by creamy goat cheese. Even when Hatch chili's are out of season they have a great alternative. I recommend it without the green chili chutney as the chutney overpowers everything else, but if you like the green chili flavor you will love this burger with or without the chutney. TIp: Ask for extra napkins, this is one of the messiest burgers but well worth it. Not sure if Rodeo Goat changed buns everywhere, but the buns were a fluffier buttered bun which was nice, but lacked a little stability holding up to the juicier burger. The buns weren't a negative because flavor is till there, just not as good at holding up to the juicier burgers. Note: This location does not have the burger battle in place at this time. The friendly competition that compares two burgers and allows customers to vote is hopefully coming soon. DRINKS: Good beer selection. $2 mimosas on Saturday and Sunday till 4pm SERVICE: Phenomenal. We had Austin, he gave great recommendations, was quick on refills which made the already great food an even better experience. read more

My brother suggested me to try this place out and I thanked him after eating one of the best burgers I think I've tasted in a while. Why is that? Because they got veggie patties as well as impossible patty which is a rarity in meat-dominated burger spots. Such a huge, laid back environment space - great number of seatings and easy to sit yourself down with the menus already lay out for you. I was debating whether if I should get Sugar Burger or Hot Bastard but I opt for something spicy and carby since I've been eating fruits nonstop for weeks now. When the plate got to my table, I was already salivating at the whole thing and mind you, the size of it was pretty massive. I didn't think I would be able to finish it on my own. But once I got that first bite, I killed it all in less than 30 minutes. The impossible patty always get me every time. And the ingredients altogether was bomb and SPICY too. I'd say this is probably my favorite burger joint in DFW. We've been to the Dallas location and the Plano location, and both are fantastic. My worry is sometimes when opening additional locations, quality can suffer but not here. Meat is from Texas' own 44 Farms, which raises pastured meats. They also grind their own meat each day. You can absolutely taste the difference above an beyond all others. We had the DCC Burger (good, strong, basic cheeseburger), HL Hunt ( the whiskey cheddar, candied bacon, and blackberry compote really elevates this), and the Hot Bastard (habanero cheddar as a touch of heat but is not overly spicy at all). I ordered a plain side of jalapeño and cheddar tater tots, which happens to be the only frozen, pre-prepared item. It was delicious, but their hand cut fries are equally good. At the Dallas location, I can vouch for their cookies and cream milkshake but I did not get one here. That will be on my next visit! read more

Visiting Texas for a few weeks for family. We just finished up a meal in Plano location. This banner clearly has great food and a good vibe. We did have an issue with service time, and to the establishments credit the local management staff quickly addressed. Several folks came to our table side (at least three) to rescue the situation and makes things right. This is how you can really assess an operation. Hats off to this local management team. Unfortunately there is the waitstaff, Lauren. A failure and one that didn't own any of it. I feel for good business' like this that are probably having a hard time filling positions currently.
