I went to Rodrigo's Temecula and picked up a Quart of Salsa and Chips, and a 2-Taco Combo. When I got home I had some Salsa & Chips. One hour later I was as sick as a dog. It's called Food Poisoning due to improper preparation of food. The Salsa must have had E-Coli contamination in it because of how sick I got. I had to throw $30 of food away because I didn't trust it. I have been a loyal customer of Don Jose/Rodrigo's for over 30 years and always trusted the food there. Now I cannot say that. I probably won't go back and have to find a New Mexican Restaurant to go to. They Seriously need to have the Prep Area tested before someone gets real sick and has to go to the Hospital or dies. read more

I ordered a party platter for a wake I was attending in the neighborhood and it was perfectly cooked, ready on time and a hit at the gathering. We use to like having dinner at rodrigos but lately the past couple of times it has not been good service : ( After waiting about 45 minutes for our food it came out at best luke warm just not good at all we voiced our concerns to the manager which just seem to be bothered by our complaint and just kept saying "its because we have a large group in the back" and didnt really care about what we were saying his response was the same we have a large group without an apology So sad we use to like coming here we will be going to different locations that are able to take care of all customers even with a big group in an empty restaurant read more

We love Rodrigos. We have been coming here since they first open and have consistently had good service and great food. We always love the special promos that are offered for Taco Tuesday, national margarita day or their annual anniversary special. My coworkers and I frequent here for lunch because their $7 lunch specials can't be beat. We haven't been as often since COVID hit however we are sure to be back now that in-restaurant dining has returned. My husband I sat "inside" on the patio a few weeks ago and quite honestly, service was terrible. I don't fault them though because they are doing the best they can. My husband & I decided to try Rodrigo's and was very disappointed. We love Mexican food and this was the worst we've ever had. I usually Yelp but didn't. Now I wish I would have. My husband had the seafood chalupa salad and I had the Rodrigo's special. My husband's meal was aweful especially the shrimp, they were like rubber, totally overcooked! My flautas were not crunch and the meat was tough. It seemed like they were sitting for hours. The refried beans were dry and rice was not cooked. The horchata tasted like powdered drink. Came here for Cino De Mayo - such a joke. Been here two other times and can understand why they have so little business. Leadership starts at the top, that would be the manager. The bar was modestly busy cuz it's Cinco and the girl at the front sat us at a table - one could say in the restaurant section (no one in there btw) well mgr. would not let us do happy hour there (again,no one there) and said to go to the patio. Patio cold and we would be the only people out there!! Told the waiter we were leaving came back in and two seats available at the bar so we took them. NO Cinco food specials? Really??? Don Jose's, El Torito when I lived near them would have food specials (not crappy appetizers), happy hour throughout the entire restaurant and would be packed with customers. As a reminder, restaurants are in the "Hospitality Industry" and you need people to come spend their income in your establishment. My wife and I ha e been coming to Rodrigo's for a years. Always have had good service and good food, our most recent visit will likely keep us away indefinitely, we visited last night and ordered our favorite dishes and of course got chips and salsa. My wife immediately found what looked like a piece of hair or fuz or who knows what in the salsa. This was actually the second time we found something like this, we were in a couple weeks ago and found the same thing, at the time we were finishing our meal and brought it to our servers attention, and he handled it properly. This time was a little different because it was the second time so in my mind there's something wrong that the restaurant knows about and there not correcting. When we brought it a servers attention he said oh it's just hair, and almost seemed upset that we were bringing it to his attention. The server then grabbed the chip with the hair laced salsa from my wife and knocked my wife's drink over. At that point neither one of us had any desire to stay and left. It's really too bad because Rodrigo's has been one of our favorite restaurants. Well never return. read more

We ate here on Mother's Day thinking that there would be a waitlist going but they seated us right away. The interior decor looked outdated and a little stuffy. There were not very much customers considering it was Mother's Day. Our waiter looked like he was waiting on wayyy too many tables. He was always on a mission every time I would try to get his attention, for sauce or our check or more water. It wasn't his fault though. He was perfectly polite and great. They probably were understaffed that day. We tipped him well though. For a dine-in Mexican place like this, I was expecting high quality Mexican food but it wasn't. Their chips and salsa was good but not great. I ordered their stuffed Pasilla Chile Relleno, it wasn't packed with flavor but it was juicy and had a good texture. I was quite surprised when I asked for hot sauce, was hoping they would give me a sauce they made from scratch but they gave me a bottle of tapatio instead -_- (very disappointing) Lastly, I asked to order their Nino soft taco plate to-go for my 4yr to eat later because he fell asleep in the restaurant and come to find out, they did not separate the tortilla in a foil wrap like how other Mexican restaurants do but instead they had the shredded beef in the soft taco making it VERY SOGGY when we arrived home. The taco was ruined, the tortilla fell apart and the shredded beef broke trough the tortilla when I picked it up. I wished I had a photo to share... we threw out the food unfortunately. read more

Wow couldn't believe the service this evening. There were only 2 tables with customers in the bar. We waited 15 minutes for a drink which we never got. While watching Justin the bar tender chat with his Friends who were at the bar. The waitresses kept apologizing. It was clear he was ignoring all of them and us. So rude!! Rodrigo's deserve all the stars on here plus two thumbs up! They know customer service to a tee! Came here today for lunch with the family. Everyone here. Every. Single. Staff deserves a shout out. From the person who answered the phone, the hostess, the server, everyone was genuinely friendly. They were very sharp, on top of things, knows their game, hardworking and they communicate with each other really well. They have a great teamwork going. It shows with how they treat their customers. The food came out super fast. The portions are pretty huge and the food tasted fresh and delicious. I've had the most heartiest chicken tortilla soup ever. I have work tomorrow so I can't try their fab looking Margaritas - But I will be coming back on a weekend to try. The ambiance and mood was great and it was a pretty relaxed and casual athmosphere. Rodrigo's Mexican Grill has great food and drinks and we are thankful that their patio dining has been opened for some time now. Staff is helpful and friendly as always. Possible indoor dining coming in April 2021. Unfortunately, the County of Riverside has not been doing the correct SARS-Cov-2 (Covid19) PCR testing, which resulted in our numbers not dropping, according to the available approved tests by the state. Our declining numbers were not being counted. Now that Riverside County is doing more PCR testing, our declining numbers are now being recorded, allowing for indoor dining within a month. read more

The only good thing I can say was the staff is friendly however the service and food were terrible. Our waitress took our drink order then our food order and we never saw her again. The food took a very long time to come out and was incorrect when it did. The fajitas (which she said are the most popular item) were lacking in flavor, served with cold tortillas and the meat is something I wouldn't even feed my dog (I literally spit it out). The enchilada was not hot, the cheese tasted grainy and I only took two bites and the rice tasted like cardboard. We also saw other patrons getting frustrated while staff sat around chatting and when we ordered another beer we watched it sit at the bar for 20 minutes getting warm. Just all around bad. Honestly there are several more authentic Mexican restaurants in the area so this will be my first and last time trying Rodrigos. No wonder it was only a five minute wait on cinco de mayo lol. read more

We're still fairly new to the area, but Rodrigo's was one of the first places we tried. Coming from San Diego, we needed some decent Mexican food. During Covid, this was one of our go-tos - whether it was just us or friends/family too. The staff has been friendly since our first visit here and the food has always been great (love the flautas!). But today, we had an even better experience. We were lucky enough to get seated in Leah's section. She was sweet, engaging with the kids, had everything we asked for within seconds and we can tell she's like this all the time. We understand how hard it is to get ANYONE to return to work following Covid, let alone someone as great as she. Keep her, Rodrigo and give her a damn raise! She's awesome.
