A small amount of meat in this dish encompassed about 40% of it as fat.
    Yvonne C.

This was my third time here in the past 1-1/2 years and I am thoroughly convinced that they do not have the same quality of meat that they did when they opened a few years ago. I ordered a vermicelli dish with meat and it was over $20 for this lunch portion, which was primarily noodles and vegetables. I always order this same dish. The meat that was on it was tough and rubbery. I could not even cut it with the fork. I had to pick each piece up and tear them into smaller pieces. Most notably, though, was the extra extraordinary amount of thick fat on each of the pieces of meat. I don't remember the meat being this inedible the first time I ate here. I think their quality has gone downhill significantly.

First off, it's fast casual Vietnamese food. Second, ordering on Uber Eats damn near guarantees a steal of a deal. Third, I got the 100g protein bowl today - it had two eggs, madd shrimp, brisket and salmon - and it was really good. Had I known the brisket was going to be that tender, fatty and flavorful when combined with the rice and egg and Viet dressing, I would've gotten all brisket. I ordered through Uber Eats and it was ready in like five minutes. I walked in, was greeted by the nicest man working, and even got to spin the wheel. I've only ever ordered from the Arlington location for delivery but that was one to two years ago and was okay but the bowl today was so good. Honestly, I felt REALLY good about what I was eating and it hit the spot. The inside of the restaurant is tiny but again, it's like fast casual - it's not a traditional pho spot, so some of the reviews acting like their pho needs to be the best in the land are missing the point.

Absolutely delicious. My coworker suggested we order lunch from Roll Play for delivery, and I was honestly blown away by how good these summer rolls were. I tried the shrimp, oxtail, and beef, and they were all fantastic everything tasted so fresh. The packaging was great, and the delivery was prompt and efficient. They had a buy-one-get-one-free deal going, so I picked up an extra box and was happy to have three more for dinner. I'll definitely be ordering from here again for lunch!

I recently started seeing ads about this spot and it peaked my attention so I was excited when I drove by. It's very small inside but there is some seating area. I think it was designed with a "to go" mindset which works for me. The service was fine, not much engagement but not bad either. I got the power bowl with shrimp and chicken. It was so fulfilling and delicious. I wish there was one closer to me. Great spot for quick good eats.

First time at this location. Parking is hazardous:\ We were greet d upon entering. Smaller store than Tyson's location and the wall art didn't wow me. They were filming a commercial or something so I was able to take a few sweet pics because of the props. Ordered their wings naked and they were great. Thumbs up. No beading, crispy, not oily at all and flavorful. Definitely an item I'd prefer again in the future.

Order using Toaster iPads, have both BanMi and Pho, and some beverages most are pre-packed. They also have other Vietnamese dishes. I had the BanMi, it was good. Their best part is everything is made in Avacado oil. So it's got high smoke Point and you won't eat trans fats. Okay, probably the better part is they close at 1 AM so you can get healthy food that late if you are looking for. Vegan/Veggie options and customizations available. Music is great, a good combination of kpop and other Asian pop. They will bring you the food on the table, about 3 tables and most people seem to be getting to go.

Spicy oxtail broth beef pho & Thai coffee

I had the opportunity to try out Roll Play Grill recently. The inside is small, with just a few high top tables to sit at. They have a smaller menu than more Vietnamese restaurants I've been too, but it gets the job done. I ordered their spicy oxtail bone broth with beef pho and a Thai coffee. The pho was spicy and flavorful, and the coffee was creamy and strong. They were able to answer my allergy questions with ease. I felt like the broth lacked the depth of flavor than my favorite pho place, but I liked how it cleared my sinuses. The prices were higher than most pho places I've been to as well.

This is a very fast casual Vietnamese spot. They have high top seating, very limited seats We ordered the spicy Oxtail Pho 10/10 The fried rice 3/10 The build your own Summer Rolls formerly known as the Magnum 8/10 The service was good. But nothing specials. A bunch of kids just working getting people fed lol. The only thing I really didn't enjoy was the fried rice. The portions were really big! The Pho was Phonomenal! For a side portion it was enough for a meal which I appreciated.

The Spicy Oxtail Beef Pho....is the business! Soooo good!!

One of my favorite spots to hit up when in the Falls Church area! For fresh, flavorful, and fully customizable Vietnamese eats, Roll Play is a must-try. Whether you're craving rich oxtail pho, a bold black pepper beef banh mi, or a build-your-own noodle bowl, they serve up quality without the wait. The vegetarian egg rolls? Dangerously crispy and addictive. While the Falls Church spot leans more grab-and-go, the hearty portions and fresh ingredients make up for it. Believe it or not, I often order via Uber eats and the consistency has been exactly the same....fresh & delicious!! You can't go wrong with roll play grill. The food, flavors and service is always on point. Double thumbs up and I recommend you give this place a try. It's on repeat and speed dial from my end. lol

    easy self service ordering

I've been a fan of Roll Play in Tysons for years, so it was an easy decision to hit up the Falls Church location while I was in town. Their menu is a lot of fun - you can choose pre-made rice/noodle bowls, pho, banh mis, rolls OR make your own. I opted to make my own noodle bowl and my friend opted for a make your own roll. The flavors of the meat, fresh veggies, and sauce are light and satisfying. Their peanut sauce dipping sauce is particularly tasty. I really wanted to try their oxtail beef pho, but couldn't warrant the price. Still had a good visit and we were both happy with our meals.

    Yan W.

3.5 stars Definitely more "modern" Vietnamese fare. The food is good but pricey. You get what you pay for right? Sometimes you can get a deal on an online ordering platform. I enjoyed their oxtail beef pho and their saté sauce is very good. My grip is the $18 sandwich. Again, you get a lot of lemongrass beef meat but it's like two or three meals in a sandwich. It's not like anything you would get in Vietnam but it is enjoyable.

    We ate every bite!!

That was a big mistake because Truong Tien is inside and it is amazing! My son and I started with Banh Beo Nhan Kho Tom Chay, a dish of steamed rice cake topped with fried shallots, dried powdered shrimp (prawn floss) and chicharron which you then can top with a spicy sauce. They come in little tiny dishes that you can kind of slurp the rice cake from like an oyster. The combination of textures and temperatures and flavors was delicious - and not too filling as a starter. We wanted to have a Banh Khoai Nuoc Leo (crispy pancake taco-like dish with a dipping sauce) but they were out for the day (we were there at about 4pm) so instead we had vermicelli bowls (Bun Nem Nuong) with Asian style sausage and fried spring rolls. Topped with peanuts and fish sauce, it was fresh and delicious. The host greets you warmly and offers ice water, hot or iced tea (complimentary) and the restaurant decor is absolutely beautiful. There's also a gorgeous display of food for sale near the register, including fried bananas and donut/beignet sort of treats. The waitress also brought a small bowl of rice with lemongrass pork for my baby to eat (on the house). The waitress was awesome :) Before tip the total came out to be $52. Our server seemed a bit impatient and abrupt when taking our order (we asked how many spring rolls come in each order, and added beef meatballs to one of our pho orders), but we were mainly there for the food. The space itself is roomy, casual and comfortable, with tables spaced and seated far enough apart to not feel crowded. We started with the pork and taro spring rolls, which came out hot, cut in half, and impressively crispy! (Just as a heads up so you don't get scolded like we did - the pork and taro spring rolls come with two per order, and the price for both is a great deal compared to most pho establishments!) For our mains, we ordered three pho bowls and one dry noodle dish. The pho arrived warm, and adding bean sprouts cooled it down further rather than cooking them through. The dry noodle dish, on the other hand, was excellent in flavor, though also not very hot - likely due to the fresh vegetables (lettuce, tomatoes and cucumber) mixed in. Overall, a solid, filling meal, even if the service and the temperature of the food could be improved. Why we keep coming back: The Pho Sate is absolutely exceptional - we've tried this dish at countless Vietnamese restaurants over the years, and honestly can't find it done this well anywhere else. Their legendary roasted chili sauce (see photo) - that golden-orange chili oil is what dreams are made of! Savory, spicy, aromatic, and absolutely addictive. We've been eating this sauce for over a decade and it never gets old. If you love bold, authentic flavors, this alone is worth the visit. Consistently friendly and attentive staff - over all these years, the service has remained excellent. They recognize regulars, are genuinely warm and welcoming, and clearly take pride in their food and customer relationships. Plenty of parking - a practical bonus that makes every visit hassle-free. Why this deserves 5 stars: When you return to the same restaurant for over a decade, it's because they're doing everything right. The consistency in food quality, the authentic flavors, the warm hospitality - all of it has kept us coming back year after year. This isn't just good food; it's a place that's become part of our dining routine. Bottom line: After 10+ years as customers, we can confidently say this is the real deal.
