I didn't even know this place existed till now. I haven't had a chance to eat inside, my brother actually picked up a pork banh mi for me to-go since he was eating there for lunch. The pork banh mi was pretty tasty. They bread is soft and fresh and they give you a good amount of meat inside. The pork was flavorful and I enjoyed it and recommend it for a quick lunch pick-me-up. It's a slick spot, for sure. Right there next to Harmons in a generously-sized space that's got modern decor, bright signs, and lots of seating. If you ignore the whole z-for-s in the business name (whyyyyy did we ever start this little gimmick???) then it's a tidy little operation. The menu is really straightforward and exactly what you'd expect from a place if they described themselves as fast casual Vietnamese. You have rice, noodles, banh mi, pho, and spring rolls (rollz, apparently). Pepper in a few beverage or dessert options, but those headings make up the whole of it. Fast casual indeed. Walk in, belly up to the bar, and make your order. Get a number, go back to your seat, and your food should be out in a jiff. Fountain drinks on the end. Here's where it got a little dicey today. They all seem very eager to serve, and make sure you get what you want, but they don't seem to have any real organization or system in place to do it. Ordering was haphazard--I was asked three times if I wanted a drink and that was after I had already told them that I wanted a drink. We ordered from a second register that was hidden behind a plant (fake amaryllis, if you're an amaryllis/fresh flower fan and wanted to know) and we had to ask for a copy of our receipt which they couldn't provide. Instead, we had to take a picture of the receipt and give it back to them. Weird communications aside, the food was good. It was a pho day, and I had the P2--Northern special. It has wider noodles and I wanted to try them. They delivered, but next time I'd get something with more meat or get their signature P1 with allll the meats--tripe, etc. It was quiet-ish at noon but got hopping by 12:30. The big communal tables started to fill up. If you're not a fan of making new friends, you can sit at smaller tables/booths, too. Prices are about right, maybe just a little more expensive than you find basic pho or banh mi around town, but not much. Still under $10. It did the trick for lunch with a friend today. read more

My mom and I love this place! Especially their lemon grass tofu rolls and their noodle salads! There are always many customers of South East Asian heritage there which I think says something about the authenticity of their menu. Not a traditional dining establishment. Spicy beef noodles (bun bo hue) has been always my most favorite Vietnamese noodle, and Rollz offers the best bun bo hue i have had so far in SLC. The secret is in the beef bone broth and the right amount of fish sauce/ shrimp paste - which you wouldn't probably recognize since it was very well flavored with other flavors (such as lemongrass) and that brought out this rich, umami flavor for the whole dish. Bun bo hue here also has super tender and nicely cut beef shank. Even though the meat was thinly cut, there was plenty. I also really enjoyed the add-in options of either ox tail or pig feet - i chose ox tail, it was good and tender enough. The bowl of bun bo hue here is huge! My husband and i shared the noodle bowl after having an appetizer, banh cuon thit heo - which was also very fresh, and we couldn't finish the bun bo hue. We chatted with the Vietnamese owner before leaving, he's such a nice man and told us about how the food was made here. He also recommended other restaurant that sells really good chicken sticky rice (xoi ga) in SLC. So we would definitely try that place, and of course come back to try other dishes here. read more

I'm a fan! I've known about Rollz since it's opened but for some reason I haven't made it there to try the food... until today! The guy who took our order at the counter was nice (the owner, I presumed). We ordered the shrimp rolls, the grilled pork rolls, and the "pancake" dish (B1). Everything was good to great- the grilled pork rolls were my favorite! I suggest asking for fish sauce to go with the "pancake" dish. I want to come back and try everything on the menu! Next time I'll try the butter beef or lemongrass tofu (banh mi or rice plate). I loved this place. Sandwiches and spring rolls were excellent. I had the Garlic Butter Beef sandwich (the S4 Bánh mì), and also tried the steamed shrimp and pork spring rolls (Z1). Though I wasn't a huge fan of the peanut sauce served with the rolls (it's just not my thing), there are hoisin sauce bottles on the tables, and I thought that was a great addition to the roll. I am not ashamed to say that I am obsessed with this place. The prices, the food, the atmosphere. I usually get a chicken curry sandwich to go, but if I have more time I like to buy myself some Pho and bring a book. However- don't expect to go to the drive through and order like fast food. Guys, seriously. This is my FAVORITE restaurant. The pho is so delicious, it's insane. The portions are great and if I had the chance, I would eat here every day of my life. Unplanned snow day meant we could play hooky from work. First we went to a movie nearby and then decided to try this place out for lunch. Due to weather and odd timing (3pm) there weren't a lot of other patrons. We perused the menu for a few minutes and then made our decisions. Placed our order and got our number and sat ourselves. First came the pork and shrimp rolls. I love fresh spring rolls and these were great. Good flavor and texture and I'm a sucker for peanut dipping sauces. Theirs is thick with added peanuts (which got a little in the way of dunking) and good flavor. Next came our entrees. I had the chicken noodle salad and he had the special pan fried noodles. I liked that the sauce for the noodle salad was on the side so you could add to your liking. I also added some hoisin sauce and a little of the leftover peanut sauce. Everything tastes very fresh. Loved the textures. Noodles were perfectly cooked which I really appreciate. Stole a bite of the pan fried noodles which were also cooked well and had good flavor. Hands down, this is the best Vietnamese food I've had in Utah. The hubby and I found this hidden gem after a suggestion from a friend of a friend. We decided to go here to give our roommate a send off meal after he found out he was going back to California for work. It is a very casual setting when you walk in. The order counter is up front. You pick what you want, they give you a number, and they'll deliver the food to you once it's ready. The three of us ordered: House Pho P6 (flank and round eye steak) Two orders of egg rolls Thai iced tea The first thing I went for was the broth. I've tried other pho broths in Utah and it was always missing something...they were pretty bland. It never felt like authentic pho to me. However, this broth was done right. When I took that first sip, the flavors were exactly as what I imagined pho to be. Their egg rolls were one of the best egg rolls I've ever had. We ordered two orders, but I would've happily ordered a third! Their Thai iced tea was your standard Thai iced tea. It was good though! Service was very good. The ordering process was easy and quick. The assumed manager of the restaurant came around and gave us fortune cookies after we were seated. I felt very comfortable and well taken care of, even for a fast casual restaurant. We've been going to Rollz for a few years now and love it. My daughter was introduced to it by someone she was working with and then took us. The staff is always friendly and the food is fresh. We typically get Pho and crispy egg rolls but this time I wanted to try a sandwich. I got the pork sandwich and it was delicious! We also got the crispy egg rolls and a Thai iced tea. I saw this place every time I went to go to another pho place, I've always wondered if it was any good or not and when I went, I was not disappointed, I tried out this place over a span of two days, the first day was to just check it out and see how it was and I got the Pork and Egg Noodle Vermicelli with Spring Rolls and it was soooooo goooood! The second day I went, I got the house pho and beef spring roll and dumplings, they did not disappoint either, the pho had a more "natural" taste, which I mean in a good way, it tastes more like someone made it straight from scratch and it tasted really good. I didn't visit this place for a long time because I thought it was one of those "fusion" restaurants. I prefer authentic food with large portions, lol. I was wrong! They have a huge selection of spring rolls and vermicelli noodles. I ordered the noodles that included an egg roll. Can't remember the official name, but the portion was huge! I think I got 2 meals out of it. The flavors were perfectly blended and they didn't skimp on the fish sauce. I ate it at work and all my co-workers were jealous! This is our go to place in the valley for bun bo hue!! We pick the oxtail (other option is pig foot). They do the broth right, have great meats and veggie/rau options! Pulled into here because it is one of the rare Vietnamese places that serves banh cuon (b1 on their menu). Grabbed a pho as well and my family and I fell in love. Having come from Las Vegas spent a lot of time in LA and also having traveled to vietnam. There is a BiG difference when it comes to pho. This place is seriously better than anything in Las Vegas and could rate in the top of LA. Been here 3 times in 4 weeks and we don't see any reason to even try any of the other pho places in town. During a busy day, a few of my friends decided to order take out here. I've been here before and loved it. Its located right where the scone cutters used to be next to the Harmons. The shop is small, with a walk up counter to order. Really cute and modern compared to most Vietnamese restaurants. I normally go towards the noodle soup dishes like bun bo hue or pho. Their spring rolls are amazing, my favorite is the grilled shrimp. Our take out order consisted on two pho with steak, two rice plates with grilled chicken, combination rice plate. two grilled shrimp rolls. The other gals ate their food and loved it. I havent tried any of their rice dishes, so i devided that what i will go for. I had the combination rice plate. I've had com tam before, and I know it's translated to broken rice in English. My rice was normal rice and not broken rice, my order was also missing my shrimp! If anyone knows me I love shrimp. I was quite disappointed. They gave me a a little container of the sauce (fish sauce), so basically I didnt even taste any of it. Can't be too upset because The meat was good and it had plenty of veggies on the side.
